IS ANYONE SURPRISED?
Democrat election shenanigans in Chicago’s corrupt Cook County?
In a close razor-thin race between a moderate Democrat and a radical progressive Democrat, should anyone be surprised that the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners managed to find approximately 10,659 votes, which may flip the results the results?
On March 19, polling day, radical progressive university lecturer Clayton Harris was nearly 10,000 votes behind, according to an early estimated tally. By the end of Wednesday, after the 10,000 votes were added in, unofficial results had narrowed down to a tiny margin. Retired appellate court justice Eileen O’Neill Burke was ahead by just 1,598 votes, with 50.16 percent of the poll, against 49.84 percent for Harris.
The Chicago Board of Election Commissioners said 54,191 outstanding mail-in ballots had been sent to voters yet to be returned. Officials don’t expect to receive them all, and the official result will not be known until the April 2 deadline.
Max Bever, spokesperson for the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners, admitted that around 10,000 votes received by mail before the primary had been mistakenly left out of previous counts and accepted responsibility, “I traded speed for accuracy in reporting out numbers this week as quickly as I could. I truly regret this error on my part and for the confusion that it has caused the voters of Chicago.”
Under intense media scrutiny, Harris called O’Neill Burke to concede, and his campaign manager says they will not seek a recount. It appears it would be prudent to quit screwing with the vote rather than highlighting another corrupted election.
Another entitled federal judge?
Judge Reggie Walton, a senior United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, used a CNN platform to openly criticize Donald Trump’s attacks on Judge Juan Merchan, the judge overseeing the former president’s criminal “hush money” case.
“It’s very disconcerting to have someone making comments about a judge, and it’s particularly problematic when those comments are in the form of a threat, especially if they’re directed at one’s family,” said Walton, who has also faced threats, as has his daughter. “We do these jobs because we’re committed to the rule of law and we believe in the rule of law, and the rule of law can only function effectively when we have judges who are prepared to carry out their duties without the threat of potential physical harm.”
[OCS: Trump has never threatened a judicial officer or his family. What angers the judge is the media spotlight being cast on the judiciary, along with highlighting their partisanship and past foibles. As for the rule of law, the law is being perverted and corrupted to turn an ordinary non-disclosure agreement into a federal criminal case.]
“I think it’s important in order to preserve our democracy that we maintain the rule of law,” Walton said in the interview. “And the rule of law can only be maintained if we have independent judicial officers who are able to do their job and ensure that the laws are, in fact, enforced and that the laws are applied equally to everybody who appears in our courthouse.”
[OCS: One need only look at the various Trump cases to know that the Judge is full of crap when he speaks of preserving democracy and ensure the laws are enforced. Like federal immigration statutes which are not being upheld and thwarted by activist federal judges.]
“I think it’s important that, as judges, we speak out and say things in reference to things that conceivably are going to impact on the process, because if we don’t have a viable court system that’s able to function efficiently, then we have tyranny. And I don’t think that would be good for the future of our country, and the future of democracy in our country,” he continued. <Source>
[OCS: Speaking about impacting the process, here we have a sitting federal judge commenting on a pending criminal case against the leading GOP presidential candidate During the height of the election season – this not only appears to be inappropriate, but looks like an actionable breach of ethics that calls for disciplinary action.]
Everything is now racist…
It is unbelievable that anyone would believe that criminals must commit crimes in proportion to their racial or ethnic representation in the general population.
Gunshot-Detection Tech Has Saved Hundreds of Lives. The Left Says It’s Racist
More than 150 cities now use ShotSpotter. News reports provide many accounts of gunshot victims whose lives were saved because ShotSpotter, and only ShotSpotter, alerted authorities to their whereabouts. Police departments often claim the technology has helped them aid or save dozens, and in some cases more than 100 lives.
Chicago’s far-left mayor, Brandon Johnson, made headlines in February for canceling ShotSpotter, in part to appease the progressive activists who helped to elect him last year. But he’s holding off on removing the tool until September, after the city hosts the Democratic National Convention — Johnson said he’s giving the police a “runway” to wind down its use.
In Chicago, many of the loudest voices against ShotSpotter appear to be leftist activists, organizers, and “journalists” who previously were part of Defund CPD and the police-abolitionist movement that grew during the unrest of 2020.
But the most zealous anti-ShotSpotter activists go farther than just questioning the return on investment: They claim that the technology itself is “racist” and “evil,” that it is overly deployed in minority communities to spy on residents, and that ShotSpotter is dangerous because it sends amped up cops with itchy trigger fingers into minority neighborhoods.
They are some of the same arguments that anti-police activists have used to push back on a variety of crime-fighting technologies that have been introduced in recent years, from drones and license-plate-readers to robots designed to keep human out of dangerous situations. <Source>
Government accounting systems: defective by design…
Improper Payments:Information on Agencies' Fiscal Year 2023 Estimates (GAO-24-106927)
Improper payments—those that should not have been made or were made in the incorrect amount—have consistently been a government-wide issue. Since fiscal year 2003, federal agencies reported about $2.7 trillion in total improper payments. In FY 2023 alone, federal agencies made $236 billion in improper payments, a decrease of about $11 billion from the prior fiscal year.
This Q&A report shows that this estimate doesn't include the Department of Health and Human Services' Temporary Assistance for Needy Families—a program that is susceptible to significant improper payments. We covered this issue in a prior report.
What GAO Found
For fiscal year 2023, 14 agencies reported a total estimated $236 billion in improper payments across 71 programs. Agencies reported that about $175 billion (over 74 percent) of this total was the result of overpayments. About $186 billion (approximately 79 percent) was concentrated in five program areas. However, the $236 billion total does not include certain programs that agencies have determined are susceptible to significant improper payments, such as the Department of Health and Human Services' Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. The Department of Housing and Urban Development also did not report improper payment estimates for the Office of Public and Indian Housing's Tenant Based Rental Assistance program and the Office of Multifamily Housing's Project-Based Rental Assistance program. As a result, the government-wide estimate potentially does not represent the full extent of improper payments.
And this does not cover Biden’s “student loan relief” spending or untraceable billions flowing into foreign accounts in Afghanistan, Ukraine, and elsewhere, which are siphoned off by the kleptocratic elites and special interests.
Bottom line…
We are so screwed.
