WHEN IT COMES TO SEX ALLEGATIONS, CAN WE BELIEVE THE DEMOCRATS?
Why now?
Gaetz Leaks Begin, Claims Of Sex With 17-Year-Old Girl
First To ABC's Claims Sex With Girl, 17The woman who was at the center of a years-long Justice Department investigation into sex trafficking allegations surrounding Rep. Matt Gaetz testified to the House Ethics Committee that the now-former Florida congressman had sex with her when she was 17 years old, sources familiar with the investigation told ABC News.
President-elect Donald Trump announced Wednesday that Gaetz had been tapped to serve as attorney general, overseeing the very branch of government that previously conducted its own investigation of him, which ended last year without charges being brought.
Gaetz resigned from office following Trump’s announcement. This came as the House Ethics Committee was in the final stages of its investigation, said sources, who added that the committee was preparing to meet this week to deliberate over whether to release a final report on the matter.
Over the summer, the House Ethics Committee subpoenaed the woman at the center of the probe — who is now in her 20s — and she sat for multiple days of testimony where she testified to the committee that Gaetz had sex with her when she was a minor in high school, sources close to the investigation said.
“These allegations are invented and would constitute false testimony to Congress,” Gaetz said in response to ABC News’ reporting. “This false smear following a three-year criminal investigation should be viewed with great skepticism.”
The Justice Department spent years probing the allegations against Gaetz, including allegations of obstruction of justice, before informing Gaetz last year that it would not bring charges.
House Probe Into Matt Gaetz Relies On Witnesses DOJ Found Lacked Credibility
Among the many powerful figures in Washington, D.C. opposed to the Gaetz nomination are some who are attempting to thwart it by releasing a report from the House Ethics Committee that will attempt to tie Gaetz to salacious allegations involving child sex trafficking.
The report comes years after DOJ dropped its investigation into the same claims on the grounds that the two central witnesses had serious credibility issues. Yet these are the same two central witnesses the House Ethics Committee has relied on for its critical report of Gaetz—the same report it is leaking to compliant reporters as part of a coordinated effort to thwart his nomination as President-elect Donald Trump’s next attorney general. <Source>
Will the Public Ever See the Ethics Report?
House Speaker Mike Johnson has suggested that the Ethics Committee not release their report, especially since Gaetz has resigned his position in the House.
There is no doubt in my mind that Democrats have an affinity for sexual smear campaigns against their political enemies, often with decades-old, unprovable, or unsubstantiated allegations.
Ordinarily, I would acknowledge that accusations of sexual misconduct, whether made against Democrats or Republicans, are serious and deserve careful investigation and due process. However, it is also crucial to understand that allegations in high-profile political contexts—especially when they involve powerful figures—often are widely spread by a partisan media propaganda machine with little regard to substantiation, giving the benefit to the complainant before publication.
In many high-profile cases, allegations turn out to be baseless, inconclusive, or unprovable and, although widely publicized, may not lead to criminal charges or may eventually be dropped. In this politically fraught environment, it can be hard to discern what is a true claim and what is a political tactic.
Brett Kavanaugh (2018) -- Allegations made by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh were brought forward during his confirmation hearings were never substantiated in a court of law. Kavanaugh vehemently denied the accusations, and an FBI investigation did not uncover enough evidence to bring charges. The allegations were, without a doubt, used as a smear tactic to derail his nomination. The accusations did not hold up in legal terms, and Kavanaugh was confirmed.
Clarence Thomas (1991) -- Justice Clarence Thomas, one of the longest-serving members of the U.S. Supreme Court, has been the subject of various allegations of sexual harassment dating back to his confirmation hearings. Anita Hill accused him of making unwanted sexual advances when they worked together at the Department of Education and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Thomas denied the allegations, and after a contentious hearing, he was confirmed to the Supreme Court.
Donald Trump -- President Donald Trump has faced numerous allegations of sexual misconduct over the years, dating back to the 1980s. Despite the numerous accusations, without corroboration or evidence other than the testimony of the complainant, no criminal charges have been filed against Trump in connection with these allegations.
Contrast that with the serious allegations against Teddy Kennedy, 37, whose sexual exploits in 1969 are well-documented and include the tragic murder of 28-year-old campaign worker Mary Jo Kopechne, who Kennedy deliberately left to suffocate in panicked agony in the waters off Chappaquiddick Island, Massachusetts. The matter was covered up and Kennedy was allowed to plead guilty to leaving the scene of an accident and was given a two-month jail sentence, which was later suspended.
Indeed, progressive communist democrats often attempt to discredit their rivals through personal attacks, including accusations of sexual misconduct using a weaponized judicial system and activist prosecutors and judges for political gain.
Aided by progressive propagandists in the corporatized media.
In every case, the Democrats give lip service to the legal principle of "innocent until proven guilty." In contrast, the progressive media propagandists flip the script and portray the subject as “guilty until proven innocent,” giving outrageous weight to allegations that cannot be proven, happened decades ago, or are essentially without corroboration.
Trust in our weaponized justice system is at an all-time low, and its ability to dispense justice relies on the integrity of legal processes.
What they really fear.
There is little chance that Matt Gaetz will make policy, which is sure to be crafted in the Trump White House, but that Matt Gaetz has little fear of the media and, as a faithful GOP soldier, will execute President Trump’s policies without leaks or resistance. He also said he would ruthlessly crush bureaucratic cabals who may develop in the ranks.
Bottom line…
These are the bureaucrats who funded a virus that cost a million-plus lives and nearly destroyed the world economy. These bureaucrats transferred billions of dollars in wealth from the American taxpayer to foreign countries, many hostile to America. And the list goes on and on. What the progressive communist democrats have wrought has cost America blood and treasure. It must be changed!
Allegations of sexual misconduct, whether substantiated or not, are little more than a progressive communist democrat attempt to maintain the status quo, in this case, the continuing downfall of America and Americans.
In the end, the question isn’t just about sex but about the integrity of the systems that hold our elected officials accountable.
The larger question is not about whether you can trust Democrats but rather whether you can trust the systems of accountability that are supposed to ensure justice for all citizens—regardless of political affiliation.
We are so screwed.
