SENATE SABOTAGE?
Why am I not surprised that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell used his influence over millions of dollars in campaign funds (Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC) to ensure his second-in-command, Senator John Thune, would be selected by the Republican Senate conference to replace Mitch McConnell?
Will Thune become MAGA public enemy number one?
Can Thune effectively manage those Senators most likely to cause the Republican Senate majority to crumble on controversial issues dear to progressive communist democrats?

Bottom line...
As the number two Republican, Thune was often viewed as a McConnell ally and a more moderate figure compared to some of the more combative or ideological members of the Republican Party, such as Ted Cruz or Josh Hawley. He is known for being a pragmatist willing to jump across the aisle rather than put up a fight. He appears uncomfortable with hardline tactics.
Can Thune hold the slim Republican majority together and balance the competing factions within the Republican Party, or will he be Mitch McConnell's sock puppet and thwart populist or Trump-aligned Senators?
Will we be screwed again?
