VANCE-WALZ DEBATE: HO HUM!
Partisan CBS moderators sucked.
The partisan moderator's heavy-handed fact-checking of Vance on climate change and immigration broke their pre-debate pledge to let the candidates fact-check themselves. When Vance called them on it, they responded by cutting off his microphone.
JD Vance and Tim Walz looked good, were articulate, and presented well. Both accomplished something; Vance demonstrated he wasn’t “weird,” and Walz smoothed over his “radical communism.”
From Tim Walz, the Vice President candidate, who said, “One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness.”
Bottom line…
Neither one had a kill shot or a memorable line. Neither one moved the needle, and the debate will be forgotten next week.
It is what it was—and nobody will remember or care about this debate.
We continued to be screwed.
