Klaus Schwab, World Economic Forum

Along with the uber-smart and ever-amusing U.S. Senator John Neely Kennedy (R-LA) whose on-target humorous insights enliven dull Senate hearings and hold panel witnesses and confirmation candidates accountable, it seems the Louisiana State Republicans have stepped up in lockstep to affirm Louisiana’s commitment to sovereignty and local governance--further emphasizing the State’s position on international cooperation and mandates.

Louisiana Senate Bill 133

Proposed law provides that the World Health Organization, United Nations, and the World Economic Forum shall have no jurisdiction or power within the state of Louisiana.

Proposed law further provides that no rule, regulation, fee, tax policy, or mandate of any kind of the World Health Organization, United Nations, and the World Economic Forum shall be enforced or implemented by the state of Louisiana or any agency, department, board, commission, political subdivision, governmental entity of the state, parish, municipality, or any other political entity.

Effective August 1, 2024.
(Adds R.S. 49:24)

Sponsored by Republican Senators Thomas Pressly, Valarie Hodges, and Representative Kathy Edmonston, the bill was passed in the Senate (37 yeas, 0 nays) and is now awaiting further action in the Louisiana House of Representatives.

Bottom line…

Short, easy to understand, and on-point legislation from a united Republican Senate. If only those conditions existed in the U.S. Senate and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell had the balls to put forth similar legislation and then hold the GOP caucus together to pass it.

We are so screwed, especially by rogue, grandstanding Senators.
