How stupid is Supreme Court Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson?
The idiocy of Biden appointee Ketanji Brown Jackson speaking about the First Amendment.
"My biggest concern is that your view has the First Amendment hamstringing the government in significant ways."
-- Oral arguments in Murthy v. Missouri, the case that asks if the Biden administration violated the First Amendment when it sought to pressure social media apps to remove information it deemed harmful, including information that was suppressed and later found to be true and relevant.
This is precisely the purpose of the Constitution: to hamstring the government in every way.
The First Amendment…
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.:
The Constitution protects “We the People,” not the government…
The Constitution protects citizens from the federal government by limiting its power—not empowering the government to extend its power over the people. The government represents and works for “We the People;” the people do not work for the government.
The oath…
“I, _________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”
Who decides what is true and what is false or disinformation?
With extremely limited and minimal exceptions, the government is prohibited from interfering with free speech and the free flow of information.
The ultimate argument…
Should this proposed constitutional standard be applied to the press and their internet platforms—thus breaching the “Freedom of the Press.”
Bottom line…
This is a “no-brainer” even for those without brains, like Ketanji Brown Jackson.
Let's hope that the Court, outside of the three progressive communist democrats, reins in the government's coercive limitation on free speech.
We are so screwed.
