The more I think about it, our nation, as envisioned by the founding fathers, is no more, buried under so many layers of political corruption as to be indistinguishable from an oligarchy, a relatively small group of individuals controlling the country for their own self-interests.

And, for want of a more inclusive and descriptive name, let’s call the corruptocrats a loosely coupled confederation of people acting to obtain political power, which translates into wealth, protection, and the ability to thrive in an environment without suffering any consequences for your adverse actions. That is unless you upset the more powerful and bring unwanted attention to expose the overall scheme and its machinations.

How corrupt is our political system?

I am having some difficulty apportioning blame for the decline in our nation. While I believe that the Democrats, the party of oppression, slavery, segregation, and civil rights violations, are disproportionally culpable for the destruction of our representative government and its constitution, I give no pass to the feckless Republican Party, which seems content to share the political spoils without push-back or actual reform as they tinker around the edges of political corruption.

"Acta non verba" -- actions, not words…

The media, both the corrupt, corporatized legacy media and the social media platforms, inform us daily of the global threats America faces, with China being the most potent and omnipresent danger. But if this were true, where is the legislation protecting our safety, security, military, economy, and infrastructure from compromise by hostile foreign powers?

Where is the legislation targeted at those individuals associated with Communist China to prevent or mitigate:

• the purchase of our property, especially property controlling water rights, irrigation, and food production?
• the build-out of our critical infrastructure that includes Chinese “command and control” components vulnerable to internet access?
• the supply of critical components used in water, or energy or communications infrastructure which are no longer manufactured domestically?
• the supply of life-saving antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals needed to maintain a healthy population?
• the supply of industrial chemicals and commodities, specifically rare earth elements, critical for our diminished manufacturing base?
• the supply of funding to educational institutions which purchases access to curriculum, access to medical, scientific, and R&D facilities and other research laboratories, and a pipeline into existing government and corporate entities?
• the purchase of massive amounts of U.S. government debt with highly manipulated Chinese currency?
• the outsourcing of our industrial base to Chinese industry, including the manufacturing of precision machinery and a plethora of cheap consumer goods made possible by slave labor?
• the invasion of military age Chinese citizens over our borders, both the Southern Mexico border and the Northern Canadian border?
• the deliberate overstaying of Visas and the refusal to implement Visa tracking systems and employment verifications?
• the Communist Chinese incursion into our hemisphere, including North, Central, and South America?

Or, perhaps, a better question, why are our legislators so willing to sell the influence of their office for the proverbial thirty pieces of silver to allow this internal subversion?

Foreign policy, my ass…

I wish someone could explain why our legislators are crippling our military with budget cuts and social engineering when we are facing the formidable Communist Chinese threat?

Or why they are disparaging Israel while providing treasonous aid and comfort to Iran, a state sponsor of terror?

Or why are they pumping billions into a no-win Ukraine war and virtually ignoring Taiwan, which holds the key to the manufacturing of critical semiconductor technology, which, if interrupted, could destroy our technology-based nation?

National security is secondary to ambition….

There is little doubt in my mind that our premier intelligence and law enforcement agencies have been compromised, politicized, and corrupted to the extent that they are able to operate above the law with impunity, with the leadership trading their influence for future high political office or a prosperous future in education, the media, or corporate America.

House oversight panel launches wide-ranging probe into Chinese influence operations in U.S.
Beijing waging 'political warfare' against government, private sector, Chairman Comer warns

The House committee in charge of federal government oversight is launching a large-scale investigation into what lawmakers say is a Chinese “political warfare” campaign against the entire American system.

The Republican-led investigation is focusing initially on nine federal agencies and whether Chinese agents and supporters have infiltrated or influenced their policies and operations.

“Without firing a single bullet, the Chinese Communist Party is waging war against the U.S. by targeting, influencing and infiltrating every economic sector and community in America,” said Rep. James Comer, Kentucky Republican and chairman of the Oversight and Accountability Committee. The panel “has a responsibility to ensure the federal government is taking every action necessary to protect Americans from the CCP’s ongoing political warfare,” he said Thursday in announcing the investigation.

Mr. Comer said the coordinated Chinese government influence and infiltration campaign threatens U.S. military readiness, U.S. technology and intellectual property, financial markets, the agriculture industry and educational institutions. The Chinese regime has targeted all of them, he said, and “the lives and security of all Americans are affected.”

The investigation is the first of its kind in the U.S. and follows governmentwide investigations into Chinese influence operations in Australia and Britain over the past several years. Those investigations identified several government officials directly linked to the Chinese government and military. <Source>

The more I think about it, the more I believe that we are not just being screwed, but our nation is on the brink of being totally fucked!

I think sometimes it takes a life-changing event, like a war,  to make us really see the way we’re living based on the choices we’ve made.”

I wish I were more optimistic about the 2024 election, but I fear that the only winners will be the corruptocrats, with the GOP snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
