Push-polling

Another one of those damn polls that are obviously meant to promote one candidate as they disparage their opposition…

This was one of those attempts to manipulate or alter my views about a candidate under the guise of conducting an opinion poll.

Known as a push poll, it is more an interactive marketing technique than a genuine attempt to survey attitudes and positions -- to influence opinions rather than measure them. Unlike traditional polling, which aims to gather information about an individual’s opinions and attitudes, push polling is designed to sway an individual’s opinions by asking leading questions or making false statements about a candidate or issue.

It’s all in the questions…

  1. “Do you believe Candidate X should be indicted for [crime]?”

  2. “Would you still vote for Candidate Y if you knew they had been indicted for [crime]?”

  3. “Do you think Candidate Z is too old to be an effective leader?”

  4. “Would you be less likely to vote for Candidate A if they raised taxes?”

  5. “Do you believe Candidate B is secretly a [insert derogatory term like racist, bigot, homophobe, white supremacist]?”

  6. “Would you still vote for Candidate C if they were caught in a [negative situation or scandal]?”

  7. “Do you think Candidate D is too unpredictable to handle the job?”

  8. “Would you be more likely to vote for Candidate E if they promised to [political promise that is unlikely to be fulfilled]?”

  9. “Do you believe that Candidate F has betrayed our country?”

  10. “Would you still vote for Candidate G if you found out they had [negative information about the candidate]?”

They don’t care about what you think, as they hide behind false identities and phone numbers…

There should be no doubt that the anonymous sponsors of these unethical polls are attempting to spread false information and manipulate public opinion. The pollster does not care about a respondent’s opinion on any particular issue. Instead, the pollster makes statements about the issues or candidates that are meant to be persuasive or misleading, which are often harmful and designed to create a negative impression of the target in the minds of the respondents.

The trouble with push polling is that it can be difficult to distinguish from traditional polling. Push pollsters often use similar techniques and questions to those used by legitimate pollsters. They may also use similar phone numbers or call centers to reach their targets, often hiding behind an AstroTurf organization that exists only in some political consultant’s office. Making it extremely difficult for people to recognize that they are being subjected to a push poll leading to confusion and misinformation about candidates and issues. 

Even a slandered and maligned candidate or issue sponsor may have trouble tracing the source of information being spread or have the time, effort, and phone lists to combat the misinformation. Hardcore push pollsters often use anonymous phone numbers and may also use call centers located in different states or countries to reach their targets. This can make it challenging to hold push pollsters accountable for spreading false or misleading information.

The dangers of push polling…

  1. Spreads false information: Push polling is often used to spread false or misleading information about a candidate or issue to sway public opinion. This can lead to confusion and misinformation about candidates and important political issues.

  2. Damages reputation: Push polling can be used to spread false or damaging information about a candidate’s personal life or political record in an effort to damage their reputation and influence the outcome of an election.

  3. Undermines trust: When people realize that they have been subjected to a push poll, they may become skeptical of all polling and political information and may be less likely to participate in future polls or elections.

  4. Creates confusion: Push polling can be difficult to distinguish from traditional polling, leading to confusion and misunderstanding about public opinion.

  5. Hard to trace: Push pollsters often use anonymous phone numbers and call centers located in different states or countries, making it difficult to trace the source of information being spread.

  6. Unaccountable: It can be difficult to hold push pollsters accountable for the false or misleading information they are spreading, which can undermine public confidence in political campaigns and polling.

  7. Ethically questionable: Push polling is widely regarded as unethical, as it is often used to manipulate public opinion and spread false information.

  8. Skews public opinion: Push polling can create a skewed representation of public opinion, making it difficult for pollsters to measure public sentiment on a particular issue accurately.

  9. Wastes resources: Push polling can be expensive, time-consuming, and can divert resources away from other important political activities, such as voter outreach and education.

  10. Harms democracy: Push polling can undermine the democratic process by shaping public opinion in a deceptive and manipulative manner and making it difficult for people to make informed decisions about who to vote for and what policies to support.

Bottom line…

If a push pollster contacts you, think before you answer. If the pollster is human, waste their time with crazy, off-the-wall questions or comments. Feel free to give them erroneous information.

THINKING ABOUT THE TRUE STATE OF THE UNION

President Biden’s State of the Union speech and the various responses made me think about what the actual state of the union might be…

Regardless of our perceived state of the union, the United States of America is the gold standard for large-scale freedom and economic opportunity with its vast and diverse population. There is little doubt that our nation is in decline, with the past years accelerating the slide into corruption, chaos, and an increasing polarization that appears driven by progressive socialist democrats to destroy the present system and to “build back better” with a theoretical ideology that promises much but delivers little but misery.

Some areas of concern…

One of the most significant factors contributing to the decline of the United States is the corruption of its political class, including the so-called elites and experts in the bureaucracy. It appears that the number of aging legislators and the rise of “professional politicians” are dramatically shifting political allegiance from represented constituents to moneyed special interests and allegiance from doing what’s best for the nation to feathering one’s nest.

With never-ending spending that is crippling our future survival and impacting our standard of living. Who is asking about those who led the color revolution in a corrupt Ukraine, alledgedly sabotaged three out of four Nordstream piplines that did not allow Ukraine to collect fees from a pipeline passing through their territory. Why are we spending $140 billion dollars to prop up a corrupt Ukraine government while ignoring our inner cities. Truth be told, between Presidents Obama and Biden, the U.S. created the conflict with Russia. Possibly to cover-up the billion dollar grift and money laundering that benefited U.S. politicians, their families, and their special interest friends. Not to mention those who sold out to China.

Another significant factor is the uncurtailed power of “systemically important” financial institutions and technology-based platforms. We were assured that the Dodd-Frank legislation would curtail the size of systemically important institutions, yet we find these same institutions growing more powerful with time.

Likewise, the growth of lightly-regulated asset managers like BlackRock with $9 trillion in assets under management, Vanguard with $6 trillion in assets under management, State Street Global Advisors with $3 trillion in assets under management, Fidelity Investments with $2.5 trillion in assets under management, and Invesco with $1.5 trillion in assets under management – all apparently willing to shade their fiduciary duties to their shareholders and empower so-called “stakeholders” as they become activist investors advancing a progressive socialist democrat agenda. All institutions are headed by mega-wealthy executives who are terrifically overcompensated in relation to the services they render.

Another significant factor is the rise of a corporatized media whose executives are increasingly susceptible to regime politics as they protect corporate assets, avoid onerous regulations, and feed off of regime contracts, grants, subsidies, and limited competition. These are the people who shape the news and narratives, including censoring the news and canceling platform access to individuals with dissenting opinions and viewpoints, no matter how credentialed and credible they might be. These were the journalists who claimed to “speak truth to power,” and have devolved into regime toadies. They are replacing the news with narrative and spewing pure propaganda targeting Americans.

Another factor contributing to the decline of the United States is political apathy and political polarization. As people struggle day-to-day, many have given up on the system and plod along, thinking corruption is the new normal and apathetically accepting whatever the next day brings. Even more damaging is a large segment of the population that is more divided than ever before, with people on both sides of the political spectrum unwilling to compromise or work together for the good of the nation. This has resulted in a lack of progress on important issues such as healthcare, immigration, and the economy, leaving many citizens feeling frustrated and disillusioned with the political process as our nation falters.

Let us not forget the decline of the United States is also being fueled by a rapid decline in its critical infrastructure. The nation's electric, water, gas grids, roads, bridges, and public transportation systems are in dire need of repair, replacement, or buildout to meet growing demand, seismic conditions, and hardening for a potential enemy attack. All, while we are spending billions of dollars on trains to nowhere anyone wants to go and will never be able to pay forthemselves. Perpetual union jobs is the desired goal.

We have allowed ideologues and demagogues to destroy our economic lifeline -- the energy sector. What used to be reliable, cost-effective energy is now unreliable, expensive energy that makes us more vulnerable to external events like weather and military attacks.

We find politically-directed funding being routed into social programs, vote buying, and the special interest quid-pro-quo deals that ultimately fund political campaigns. On the corporate side, we find funds diverted from capital-intensive projects into supporting the Wall Street Wizards and the company’s stock price – all to the benefit of executive bonuses.

There should be no doubt that the lack of infrastructure investment has contributed to a decline in the quality of life for many citizens, in addition to failing to keep pace with the changing needs of a rapidly growing population-- further exacerbating the problem.

Another significant contributing factor to the decline of the United States is the decline in its union-dominated education system that seeks to indoctrinate rather than educate. Producing functional illiterates dependent on the very technology that will ultimately cripple opportunities for their advancement. The administrators speak about competing in a global marketplace, yet produce students that can’t compete in their local region. The issue is not a lack of funding, it's the union-dominated leadership of the educational system obsessed with turning out progressive communist democrat activists rather than independent thinkers who favor individualism over collectivism..

A decline in its national security is also fueling the decline of the United States. While our nation faces numerous threats, both foreign and domestic, the government has been increasingly filled with unregistered foreign agents and those who are willing to sell out our nation for the proverbial thirty pieces of silver – said to be the worth of one slave in ancient times.

Not only are we crippling our military with limited funding, politically-advantageous projects that don't meet the nation's needs, the military’s leadership is slow to respond to actual threats, while they engage in ridiculous and counterproductive social engineering. This leaves citizens feeling vulnerable and insecure.

In addition, the country's military is overextended, with our weapon stockpiles dwindling, and with troops deployed in numerous countries around the world -- leaving our nation unable to respond effectively to threats facing our nation. Our enemies are given a seat at our table – primarily through front groups, foundations, consultancies, and non-governmental organizations who use our own laws against us (lawfare). Many exist as self-funding, tax-exempt organizations.

We are allowing our enemies to buy our assets and build military capabilities on our shore. Witness COSCO (China Ocean Shipping Company) with a major container operation in the port of Long Beach, California. No such American properties can be found in China.

Finally, the decline of the United States is being fueled by a decline in its reputation on the global stage. The country's reputation has been tarnished by a series of foreign policy failures and the open derision of our country’s leadership. We are neither respected nor feared under the current regime. While we still are a global leader, much of our nation’s current diplomatic accomplishments are due to bribes for photo ops and phony statements from foreign leaders.

Bottom line…

There is no doubt in my mind we are being screwed, primarily by progressive communist democrats and their embedded RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) like Senators Mitt Romney, Lindsay Graham, Mitch McConnell, Susan Collins, etc. Whatever slim majority we might have in Congress, it is rendered ineffective by the aisle-hoppers who are quick to jump the aisle.

In what universe do loving parents pay Disney to teach their children to hate other children and to denigrate their country?

I do not understand why Disney, the quintessential proprietor of the happiest place on Earth, would openly market un-American themes and historical distortions to American Children.

Has Disney become captive to Communist China? Has Disney been taken hostage by the many militant gays that produce Disney’s content, operate Disney’s theme parks, and oversee Disney’s business affairs? Or is Disney pandering to the angry black community to help their progressive communist democrat friends produce racial division in America?

Why should any American continue to support a “woke” Disney whose un-American values are displayed for all to see?

Remember, it was Disney that labeled Florida’s legislation to keep sexual indoctrination out of primary grades the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, although those words never appear in the legislation. The bill prohibits classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten through 3rd grade. It prohibits teaching that is not age appropriate for students and requires school districts to adopt procedures for notifying parents if there is a change in services from the school regarding a child’s mental, emotional, or physical health or well-being. 

This is what pure un-American propaganda targeted to indoctrinate young children looks like.

  • You do not need anybody to tell you that our treasury is being plundered by corrupt politicians from both sides of the aisle who are spending money with near-zero accountability. Being a mom to three young children taught me not to believe every story I hear. So forgive me for not believing much of anything I heard tonight from President Biden. From out-of-control inflation and violent crime to the dangerous border crisis and threat from China, Biden and the Democrats have failed you.

In the radical left’s America, Washington taxes you and lights your hard-earned money on fire, but you get crushed with high gas prices, empty grocery shelves, and our children are taught to hate one another on account of their race, but not to love one another or our great country.

Each additional non-Trump candidate subtracts their participation votes from Trump’s main challenger, Ron DeSantis, leaving Trump with the most votes.
This is the preferred scenario of the progressive communist democrats who believe their chosen candidate, even if it's a cogitatively impaired and disliked Biden with a new Vice Presidential pick, can beat Trump, a man vilified in the mainstream and social media for years.

Why, then, would marginal GOP candidates run?

  1. Additional name recognition and the lifelong title of "Presidential Candidate."
  2. Campaign contributions that can subsidize temporary perks and privileges while campaigning or, more importantly, pledge existing candidate support along with an endorsement, and possibly a contribution, that can be used to buy favors like a cabinet appointment from the most likely winner.
  3. To finance a future campaign.

What are the traditional qualities desired in a President of the United States?

Generally speaking, a president should exhibit a range of traditional skills and behaviors – which is fine for relatively “normal” times. For extraordinary times and extreme challenges, you want a President that gets the job done and demands respect for the United States and the Office of the Presidency.

While former President Trump is somewhat unconventional and often uncouth, his record of accomplishments while under continuous fire from the deep state and their media propagandists has proven him to be a formidable power in his own right.

Trump is clearly transactional, doing what is necessary at the moment to advance his agenda – and, some say, ego and well-being. This leads to inadequate vetting and associations with dodgy characters chosen for their telegenic looks, wealth, or previous powerful positions. Great training to deal with slimeballs, both foreign and domestic.

A President should possess…

  1.  Superior leadership skills to effectively lead the country, making difficult decisions while providing a clear vision for the future.

  2.  Strong integrity and exhibit ethical principles, be honest and transparent and act in the best interest of the country and its citizens.

  3.  Effective communications skills, able to articulate their vision, policies, and decisions clearly and concisely.

  4.  Empathy and compassion, the ability to understand and relate to the needs and concerns of citizens from diverse backgrounds.

  5.  Ability to think critically, analyze complex issues, and make well-informed decisions on a strategic and tactical level.

  6.  Diplomatic and negotiating skills, to negotiate effectively, build relationships with other countries, and represent America on the world stage.

  7.  Adaptability, flexibility, and resiliency, able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances and remain calm and focused under pressure.

  8.  General knowledge and expertise relating to domestic and foreign policy issues, and be able to effectively absorb specialized briefings.

  9.  Ability to manage his own staff in a manner to make them more effective.

  10.  Be able to capture the attention and respect of a measurable majority of American citizens.

Why Ronna McDaniel is so dangerous at the RNC…

As the governing body of the Republican Party, the Republican National Committee's primary purpose is to support and promote the goals and values of the party, as well as to coordinate and support the campaigns of Republican candidates for office.

The RNC's specific responsibilities include:

  • Raising funds for the party to fund ongoing core functions and to support the general campaigns of Republican candidates.

  • Organizing the quadrennial Republican National Convention, which is the gathering of the party's leaders and delegates to nominate a presidential candidate.

  • Developing a party platform that describes the party's policies, values, and positions on various issues.

  • Supporting candidates with financial and organizational resources to help them win elections.

  • Promoting the party's messaging to the public, through various means such as press releases, media interviews, and advertising campaigns.

  • Building and maintaining the party's permanent local, state, and national infrastructure.

  • Mounting legal challenges to egregious electoral insults regarding clean voter rolls, blanket mail-in balloting, proper voter identification, ballot transport, authentication, and counting and correction methods.

By any measure, Ronna McDaniel has failed to advance Republican causes and win elections. To this day, the platform seems comprised of bumper-sticker platitudes and slogans. There is no corresponding election lawyer like the Democrat’s Marc Elias, who does everything in his power, from pro-Democrat election laws to dirty tricks, to advance the Democrat agenda and candidates. Without a doubt, McDaniel favors the establishment over more conservative candidates.

Can you even imagine Ronna McDaniel attempting to rig the GOP presidential nominating calendar to help Donald Trump avoid states where he’s politically weak? Well, that's what the DNC just did to help Biden avoid Iowa and New Hampshire to favor a strong start in South Carolina.  And with nary a protest from the media or the RNC.

DeSantis, tinkering around the edges?

While Ron DeSantis appears to be the top contender to Trump’s candidacy, if one pays close attention to DeSantis’ behind-the-scenes actions, he appears to be another well-spoken establishment type with better public relations than Trump. Will he be as tough and outspoken as Trump, no? Trump is driven by a sense of outrage and a desire to wreak havoc on his enemies – most of whom have been exposed and stand vulnerable. The issue is if Trump can get hard-headed individuals to fill critical positions at the Department of Justice, the FBI, and other cabinet slots. And if his chosen people can reach down into the bureaucracy to excise metastasizing cancer that is eating America alive.

Bottom line…

This time the stakes are even higher as deep state actors know they are at risk and in Trump’s crosshairs.

Right now, we are so screwed. And if the GOP doesn’t suddenly catch fire, we are more screwed than before when the Democrats nominated a corrupt, cognitively impaired impostor president and his intersectional cackling sidekick.

OCS: DRUG ADDICTION AND HOMELESSNESS

As a constitutional conservative, my views on drug addiction seem to surprise some of my friends.

Perhaps it stems from experiencing the deep pain of a muscle tear that made even a bathroom trip excruciatingly painful. An opioid painkiller brought some relief but did not remove all of the pain. But it did restore some level of functionality and the ability to sleep.

Therefore, I have a degree of sympathy for those who have chosen to self-medicate for physical or psychic pain. Even those who may have started abusing recreational drugs and fallen into the trap of addiction.

What I cannot excuse, however, are those who profit greatly from the addiction of others.

Not just the drug dealers, but the entire drug infrastructure, including the judicial industry. How do you suppose drugs get into some of the most carefully guarded prisons and jails?

I can’t help but wonder what life would be like if we treated drug use and addiction like the illness it is. Where supplying drugs under supervised conditions eliminated the criminal-judicial symbio that made petty crime unnecessary and eliminated much of the inner-city gang activity linked to drugs.

Not surprising, the pushback would come from the drug dealers and the legal infrastructure they support. From the politicians who direct taxpayer funds to their special interest friends. And even the church whose social programs profit mightily from serving this particular community and fundraising off the issue.

Likewise, the subject of homelessness is primarily a cash cow for the politicians, their special interest friends, and especially the developers who reap near-market prices for substandard properties. Yes, there remains a deep cohort of mentally ill people on the streets, but few treatment facilities. I see the communist mayor of Los Angeles and the progressive pretty-boy Governor of California with their hands out, along with some of their highly-paid political appointees — yet nothing happens.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot precedes over a drug-riddled shooting gallery in the inner cities but seems to do little other than cry about racial inequities. Will the GOP change this abominable situation if elected to power? I don’t think so. It’s too profitable, personally and professionally, to pay lip service to the issue while diverting taxpayer funds to their special interest friends.

Bottom line…

We are so screwed.

S.F. hoped to mandate treatment for up to 100 more mentally ill homeless people. Years later, no one is in the program

New data shows that a program in San Francisco to mandate more homeless people struggling with addiction and mental illness into treatment has largely failed, pointing to the city’s ongoing struggle to help thousands of people suffering on its streets.

Three and a half years ago, San Francisco started a pilot program to compel more people into treatment who met certain strict criteria. Officials estimated the program could help 50 to 100 people get housing and treatment for six months, but only three individuals entered the program and none remain in it today.

The program — which sunsets at the end of the year —requires that someone has a dual diagnosis of mental illness and substance use disorder and has been placed on at least eight temporary involuntary mental health holds, called 5150s, which send them to a hospital, within a year. The target population was also homeless. People must repeatedly refuse voluntary treatment first. <Source>

BART oversaw $350,000 Salvation Army program that treated one person, audit finds

Multiple reports document alleged wage theft, opaque spending, and a $2.2 million conflict of interest

The Bay Area Rapid Transit Agency funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars into a homeless outreach program run by the Salvation Army that resulted in just one confirmed unsheltered person receiving its services, according to a inspector general report released Friday.

The report is part of a handful of investigations at the transit agency released Friday afternoon, which document allegations of wage theft, opaque spending, and one former BART employee nabbing $2.2 million in contracts from the agency two months after quitting his job.

It is also the BART inspector general’s latest attempt in a years-long battle to audit the agency, which she says repeatedly fought oversight. A civil grand jury report from last year found a “pattern of obstruction” from BART and its major unions. <Source>

"W.H.O." THE HELL DO THEY THINK THEY ARE?

I was never asked to vote for a single member of the United Nations, nor do I cede my individual sovereignty to any government entity, foreign or domestic.

I believe that the United Nations and its various agencies are unbelievably corrupt and have the overarching goals of perpetuating their existence, achieving supremacy over member state sovereignty, and creating a funding mechanism independent of member states. They have failed in their primary mission of protecting human rights and preventing or controlling genocides. 

There is no doubt in my mind that the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, is not a medical doctor (Doctorate of Philosophy in Community Health), is a communist as a member of a Marxist-Leninist Ethiopian political party (Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front) that analysts have listed as a perpetrator of terrorism, and was a Communist China collaborator in spreading disinformation about the Communist Chinese Virus that originated at the Whuhan Laboratory in Wuhan, China. While the disease spread like wildfire in China, Tedros tweeted that there was “no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission.” Tedros also named Robert Mugabe a WHO’ goodwill ambassador’ -- knowing that Mugabe was the murderous communist revolutionary dictator of Zimbabwe. 

China helped Tedros gain his position, which may account for his willingness to take China’s denials and delays at face value while delaying notifications that could have saved lives.

Now W.H.O. wants to control the flow of public health information...

Going far beyond their medical expertise and advisory role, W.H.O. has coined the term “infodemic” to refer to “too much information, including false or misleading information in digital and physical environments during a disease outbreak.” A word I believe should be synonymous with political propaganda and bullshit.

1. The Parties commit to increase science, public health and pandemic literacy in the population, as well as access to information on pandemics and their effects, and tackle false, misleading, misinformation or disinformation, including through promotion of international cooperation. In that regard, each Party is encouraged to:

(a) promote and facilitate, at all appropriate levels, in accordance with national laws and regulations, development and implementation of educational and public awareness programmes on pandemics and their effects, by informing the public, communicating risk and managing infodemics through effective channels, including social media;

[OCS: By managing “infodemics,” they mean suppressing any speech, opinion, or information that does not comport with some “official” narrative. And, unfortunately, as we have seen, the public health agencies and officials that we previously trusted have lost their credibility as they demonstrably promoted bald-faced lies and suppressed dissenting information by censorship and the cancellation of platform access.] 

(b) conduct regular social listening and analysis to identify the prevalence and profiles of misinformation, which contribute to design communications and messaging strategies for the public to counteract misinformation, disinformation and false news, thereby strengthening public trust; and

[OCS: This is little more than authorizing surveillance and strategies to control what “they” want to be labeled “misinformation, disinformation, and false news.” Strategies such as manipulating rankings and reach or flooding the zone with regime-approved propaganda are not restricted activities. And, there is no requirement to correct and widely publicize regime errors when discovered.]

(c) promote communications on scientific, engineering and technological advances that are relevant to the development and implementation of international rules and guidelines for pandemic prevention, preparedness, response and recovery of health systems, based on science and evidence.

[OCS:  The United Nations and its various agencies are noted for cherry-picking the scientific literature and determining which scientists can participate in their programs and publications. They have repeatedly apologized for exaggerating their findings to drive media attention and fundraising. Let us not forget that the World Health Organization is complicit in the deaths of millions of individuals resulting from their disregard for evidence-based science as they refused to refute DDT misinformation.] 

2. The Parties will contribute to research and inform policies on factors that hinder adherence to public health and social measures, confidence and uptake of vaccines, use of appropriate therapeutics and trust in science and government institutions.

[OCS: Nothing guarantees the honesty of the research or penalizes erroneous statements that have been politicized.]

3. The Parties shall promote science and evidence-informed effective and timely risk assessment, including the uncertainty of data and evidence, when communicating such risk to the public.

[OCS: This is a nonsensical non-starter as front-line leaders are expected to allay the public's fears by speaking with certitude as if they understand the situation and it is under control. Standing before the public and admitting they don't know what they are talking about is political suicide.]
