The ATM at Texas A&M must be gushing money…

It is a certainty that football is a big multi-million dollar business at Texas A&M University, a public, land-grant research university in College Station, Texas, founded in 1876 and the flagship institution of the Texas A&M University System.

According to Texas A&M University - College Station Athletics Programs (collegefactual.com), the Texas A&M College Station football program paid $40,626,375 in expenses and made $78,052,665 in total revenue. This equates to a net profit of $37,426,290 for the program. It is unknown if multi-million dollar contributions to the football program and other revenue sources were included in these numbers. 

How else could Texas A&M afford to buy out the contract of fired head football coach John James “Jimbo” Fisher Jr. for a reported $76+ million?

It should be noted that the TAMU athletics department receives $0 from student fees and $0 from the university.

You lose, you win big!

According to Texas A&M athletic director Ross Bjork, “After very careful analysis of all the components related to Texas A&M football, I recommended to President Welsh and then Chancellor Sharp that a change in the leadership of the program was necessary in order for Aggie football to reach our full potential and they accepted my decision. We appreciate Coach Fisher’s time here at Texas A&M and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Fisher’s record was 45-25 in six seasons at Texas A&M.

Fisher signed a contract after a well-played negotiation that featured a 10-year contract with $95 million guaranteed in 2021, threatening to leave for another school, LSU, if the terms did not meet his expectations.

Where are the social justice warriors and student activists screaming about racial justice and income inequality?

Why is it that the social justice warriors are afraid to tackle (pun intended) the problem of racial justice and income inequality in school athletics coaching programs?

Could it be that, unlike the academic community filled with timid “go along to get along” wussies, the so-called “warriors” understand big players, beer-drinking fans, and an unsympathetic media would figuratively and literally crush them?

It's time for a historic head coach: a black lesbian Marxist who knows little or nothing about football but checks all of the DEI boxes.
