The Republican House Caucus is in disarray.

Once again, eight so-called conservative Republicans joined the radical progressive communist democrats to oust the Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy, over poorly articulated grievances. To be sure, a deal with the devil. 

These are the same eight individuals who killed one of the most conservative spending bills ever offered in Congress., one that contained significant spending cuts and necessary border security.

The proposed bill had little or no chance of passing into law as it was designed to be used as leverage against Senate Republicans to force a more palatable bill. Faced with a potential government shutdown, McCarthy played his only card, a clean continuing resolution that omitted border security and Ukraine spending.

Now passed into law, the egregious eight joined with the progressive communist democrats to successfully oust McCarthy and kill the most ambitious spending cuts in history.

• Tim Burchett of Tennessee
• Eli Crane of Arizona
• Matt Gaetz of Florida
• Bob Good of Virginia
• Nancy Mace of South Carolina
• Matt Rosendale of Montana

Bottom line...

I am unsure of the consequences of what Matt Gaetz and his band of malcontents have wrought. But it looks like the Republicans have, once again, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

It remains to be seen what the next Speaker will do with the ongoing investigations and the impeachment of Joe Biden and other high-ranking officials.  Any failure to achieve control over our borders, significant spending cuts, and procedural reforms is now on the shoulders of the egotistic eight.

We are so screwed
