In an act of pure political pandering, Illinois Governor J. B. Pritzker ordered both the American flag and the Illinois flag to be flown at half-staff to honor the “victims of the senseless gun violence that occurred on October 25, 2023, in Lewiston, Maine."

While the shooting occurred in Maine and not in Illinois, I would ask why any state would honor the victims of a particular tragedy who were killed or injured with a specific style of politically controversial weapon – that is, other than Pritzker’s pandering to the progressive communist democrat’s plan to disregard the Constitution’s Second Amendment and disarm all law-abiding Americans?

Not only can I think of real heroes that haven’t been honored, but also the hundreds of victims killed each year in Pritzker’s backyard under some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation. All of which cannot stop criminals, crazies, and terrorists from committing murder and mayhem.

Truth be told, there are inner city schools in Chicago that are more dangerous to unarmed students than a Beirut war zone.

Bottom line…

After the slaughter of unarmed Israeli citizens on October 7, 2023, I find the disarming of law-abiding citizens to be illegal, immoral, and grossly inappropriate.

Before any additional gun control or confiscation is signed into law, let its backers produce a document conclusively demonstrating how such a regulation would impact a crazy, criminal, or terrorist individual who neither respects nor abides by any law. A person who will use a knife, machete, axe, vehicle, fire, bomb, cudgel, or other legal device to intimidate and overwhelm their victims.

Pritzker, an ultra-wealthy heir of the Hyatt Hotel fortune, has been protected by armed guards and security systems since a young age. And now the bastard wants to deny your inalienable right to self-defense. At the same time, his putrid party incentivizes and allows crazies, criminals, and terrorists to stream unabated over our Southern Border.

Let me get this straight: because one individual murders a number of people, I, along with millions of my fellow citizens, must give up our right to self-defense when it is physically impossible for the police to be where they are needed and when they are needed -- knowing that law enforcement has no legal duty to protect an individual citizen unless they are in police custody.

 Gun control is never about crime or guns; it’s about control. And armed citizens, not the state, represent the ultimate guarantors of freedom and civil peace.

We are so screwed.
