Traditionally, the United States has interfered in Israel’s defense operations by strongly urging them to heed the pro-Palestinian international community’s call to cease hostilities before achieving a lasting peace. It sets the stage for the next round of relatively low-level conflict plaguing Israeli citizens who face the horrors of massive unguided rocket attacks and continued terrorism.

Perhaps the best explanation for the current situation lies in the Palestinians’ continued rejection of a two-state solution since the United Nations historically proposed it. The current Palestinian political situation can be described as a kleptocracy where its leadership begs for international funds and then lines its own pockets with the proceeds while its people continue to suffer.

And uses terror attacks to provoke an Israeli response, creating manufactured media pointing to Israeli atrocities, followed by massive fundraising efforts.

It should be noted that even if a peaceful solution could be found, any Palestinian state would not be self-sufficient and lacks the political infrastructure for honest and ethical governance.

Israel is now at war.

The facts are clear and undisputed. Hamas stunned Israel on Saturday, a day of religious observance, a holiday (Simchat Torah), and the 50th anniversary of the 1973 Yom Kippur sneak attack, with the most damaging surprise multi-front land-sea-air attack in decades. Thousands of rockets, murder and mayhem in the streets, and the kidnapping of Israeli citizens and soldiers – to be used as bargaining chips in future negotiations.

Benjamin Netanyahu:

Since this morning, the State of Israel has been at war.

Our first objective is to clear out the hostile forces that infiltrated our territory and restore the security and quiet to the communities that have been attacked.

The second objective, at the same time, is to exact an immense price from the enemy, within the Gaza Strip as well.

The third objective is to reinforce other fronts so that nobody should mistakenly join this war.

We are at war. In war, one needs to be level-headed. I call on all citizens of Israel to unite in order to achieve our highest goal – victory in the war.

Does anybody who has witnessed the cognitive decline of President Joe Biden and his inability to speak coherently -- or even read a teleprompter without mangling the message --believe that Biden can adequately respond to this ongoing international disaster?

The White House released the following statement to the press corps:

"Senior national security officials briefed the President this morning on the appalling Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel. The President will continue to receive updates and White House officials remain in close contact with Israeli partners."

Statement from President Joe Biden Condemning Terrorist Attacks in Israel

This morning, I spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu about the horrific and ongoing attacks in Israel.  The United States unequivocally condemns this appalling assault against Israel by Hamas terrorists from Gaza, and I made clear to Prime Minister Netanyahu that we stand ready to offer all appropriate means of support to the Government and people of Israel. Terrorism is never justified. Israel has a right to defend itself and its people. The United States warns against any other party hostile to Israel seeking advantage in this situation.  My Administration’s support for Israel’s security is rock solid and unwavering.

Jill and I are keeping in our prayers all of the families who have been hurt by this violence. We are heartbroken by the lives that have been tragically cut short and hope for a swift recovery for all those who have been wounded.

My team and I are tracking this situation closely, and I will remain in close touch with Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Statement from NSC Spokesperson Adrienne Watson Condemning Terrorist Attacks Against Israel

The United States unequivocally condemns the unprovoked attacks by Hamas terrorists against Israeli civilians. There is never any justification for terrorism. We stand firmly with the Government and people of Israel and extend our condolences for the Israeli lives lost in these attacks.  National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has spoken to Israeli National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi and we remain in close contact with our Israeli partners.

Remarks by President Biden on the Terrorist Attacks In Israel

THE PRESIDENT: Good afternoon. Today, the people of Israel are under attack, orchestrated by a terrorist organization, Hamas.

In this moment of tragedy, I want to say to them and to the world and to terrorists everywhere that the United States stands with Israel. We will not ever fail to have their back.

We’ll make sure they have the help their citizens need and they can continue to defend themselves.

You know, the world has seen appalling images: thousands of rockets in the space of hours raining down on Israeli cities. When I got up this morning and started this at 7:30, 8 o’clock — my calls.

Hamas terrorists crossing into Israel killing not only Israeli soldiers, but Israeli civilians in the street, in their homes. Innocent people murdered, wounded, entire families taken hostage by Hamas just days after Israel marked the holiest of days on the Jewish calendar. It’s unconscionable.

You know, when I spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu this morning, I told him the United States stands with the people of Israel in the face of this terrorist assaults. Israel has the right to defend itself and its people. Full stop.

There is never justification for terrorist acts.

And my administration’s support for Israel’s security is rock solid and unwavering.

Let me say this as clearly as I can: This is not a moment for any party hostile to Israel to exploit these attacks to seek advantage. The world is watching.

I have also been in contact with the King of Jordan, spoken with members of Congress, directed my national security team
to engage with their Israeli counterparts — military to military, intelligence to intelligence, diplo- — diplomat to diplomat — to make sure Israel has what it needs.

I’ve also directed my team to remain in constant contact with leaders throughout the region, including Egypt, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Oman, the UAE, as well as with our European partners and the Palestinian Authority.

This is also a terrible tragedy on a human level. It’s hurting innocent people — seeing the lives that have been broken by this, the families torn apart. It’s heart breaking.

And Jill and I are praying for those families who have been impacted by this violence. We grieve with those who have lost their loved their ones, lost a piece of their soul. We have hope for a swift recovery for many who have been wounded.

But we’re going to remain in close touch with Prime Minister — I, personally, am going to remain in close contact with Prime Minister Netanyahu as this situation continues to develop.

And let there be no mistake: The United States stands with the State of Israel, just as we have from the moment the United States became the first nation to recognize Israel, 11 minutes after its founding, 75 years ago.

Thank you very much.

[OCS: Does anyone believe that Joe Biden could have held this conversation? Or that Israel would not diplomatically go along with the charade?]

From the Department of State…

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry about the horrific attacks on Israel and the urgency in achieving an immediate halt to the appalling assault by Hamas terrorists against Israel. Secretary Blinken’s Call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan to discuss today’s appalling attacks on Israel.  The Secretary reiterated Israel’s right to self-defense and called for coordinated efforts to achieve an immediate halt to the violent attacks by Hamas terrorists and other militants. The two sides agreed to remain in close coordination.

Saudi Arabia accused Israel of provoking Palestinian hostility after a lethal Hamas attack from Gaza that claimed scores of Israeli lives.

The kingdom calls for an immediate halt to the escalation between the two sides, the protection of civilians, and restraint,” the Saudi Foreign Ministry said Saturday, as Israeli Defense Forces engage in “gun battles” with Hamas terrorists. “The Kingdom recalls its repeated warnings of the dangers of the explosion of the situations as a result of the continued occupations, the deprivation of the Palestinian people of their legitimate rights, and the repeating of systematic provocation against its sanctities.” <Source>

Blinken spoke today with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.  The Secretary reiterated the United States’ unequivocal condemnation of the terrorist attacks by Hamas against Israel,  and called on all leadership in the region to condemn them.  The Secretary urged the Palestinian Authority to continue and enhance steps to restore calm and stability in the West Bank.

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Foreign Minister Eli Cohen.  Secretary Blinken reiterated his condolences for the victims of the terrorist attacks against Israel and condemned those attacks in the strongest terms.  The Secretary reaffirmed the United States’ solidarity with the government and people of Israel.  Secretary Blinken also discussed measures to bolster Israel’s security. The Secretary underscored the United States’ unwavering support for Israel’s right to defend itself.

Israel Under Attack

The United States unequivocally condemns the appalling attacks by Hamas terrorists against Israel, including civilians and civilian communities.  There is never any justification for terrorism. We stand in solidarity with the government and people of Israel, and extend our condolences for the Israeli lives lost in these attacks.  We will remain in close contact with our Israeli partners. The United States supports Israel’s right to defend itself.

More pointedly, does anyone believe that the anti-Semitic progressive communist democrats are not secretly cheering on Hamas while simultaneously urging Israel to moderate its response to an undeniable act of war?

The Palestinians try to legitimize the sneak attack…

President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas: “We have the right to defend ourselves against Israel and settler terrorism”

Hamas supreme military commander Mohammed Deif said the operation, Al-Aqsa Storm, was a declaration that ‘enough is enough’ as he urged Palestinians to confront Israel.

Bottom line…

How can this happen in a nation with one of the best intelligence services and operate in a state of perpetual readiness?

Did the U.S. CIA know about the attack, and withhold information?

Could it be that certain leftist individuals deliberately ignored the smoke signals and allowed this to happen to discredit the Netanyahu Administration, much like the January 6 activities in the United States.?

Leftist opposition leader Yair Lapid: "Prime Minister Netanyahu is aware that with the existing, highly polarized security cabinet, managing a war is not feasible," Lapid observed. "Israel needs the guidance of a skilled, seasoned, and accountable government. I am confident that former defense minister [Benny] Gantz would also align with such an administration."

Is this an Iranian operation to disrupt the potential Israel-Saudi normalization effort or to keep Israel occupied while they complete their nuclear weapons program.

Once again, the prescient words of Benjamin Netanyahu should be recalled. “The truth is that if Israel were to put down its arms, there would be no more Israel. If the Arabs were to put down their arms, there would be no more war.”

We are so screwed.
