IN THE NAME OF EQUITY: THE DEMOCRATS WANT TO TURN YOUR TOWN INTO A DEMOCRAT HELL HOLE
I do not remember anything in the U.S. Constitution that grants the federal government the authority to dictate housing policy to Americans.
Unfortunately, as we find in education and other areas of life, the federal government is not beyond coercion—extorting compliance with their unconstitutional activities by threatening to withhold the federal funding that feeds state and local politicians, unions, and special interests.
In this case, the malevolent progressive communist democrats, like those that govern the dangerous, drug-ridden inner cities, want to extend their influence to the suburbs, especially those minimally molested by government dictates and have a healthier and wealthier population. Worst of all, suburbanites do not act in lock-step to support the progressive communist democrat agenda.
Obama’s dream…
The War on the Suburbs began under President Barack Obama. Obama himself was an opponent of suburban sprawl and declared in February 2009 that the days of suburban sprawl were “over.” Obama’s rhetoric – urban-centric – can often be contrasted with that of the previous Democratic President, Bill Clinton, who self-consciously and ostentatiously sought ways to connect with suburban and rural voters. In comparison, Obama appointees at HUD and EPA tended to come from big cities in blue states.
The term they use is “smart growth.” This effectively means forcing more and more Americans to live in higher density areas. HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan and Undersecretary Ron Sims, Transportation undersecretary for policy Roy Kienitz, and the EPA’s John Frece all favored this agenda. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood was quite straightforward in his language: the administration sought to “coerce” Americans out of cars and onto light rail. The stimulus package passed by the president to the tune of $8 billion focused largely on light rail, which only benefits Americans living around a handful of larger cities.
Such policies have little chance of passing through legislation. However, there are administrative and bureaucratic means to foist these programs on American citizens. Bureaucratic czars can simply deny funding to cities and states that are not in compliance with the diktats of the president’s agenda.
Pursued by Obama’s acolytes that inhabit and run the Biden Administration…
Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing
Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, known as the Fair Housing Act, requires HUD and recipients of federal funds from HUD to affirmatively further the policies and purposes of the Fair Housing Act, also known as “affirmatively further fair housing” or “AFFH.” The obligation to affirmatively further fair housing requires recipients of HUD funds to take meaningful actions, in addition to combating discrimination, that overcome patterns of segregation and foster inclusive communities free from barriers that restrict access to opportunity based on protected characteristics, which are: Race, Color, National Origin, Religion, Sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), Familial Status , and Disability.
Generally, in administering programs and activities relating to housing and community development, the federal government, HUD, and its recipients must: determine who lacks access to opportunity and address any inequity among protected class groups; promote integration and reduce segregation, and transform racially or ethnically concentrated areas of poverty into areas of opportunity.
AFFH NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULEMAKING
On February 9, 2023, HUD published in the Federal Register a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) entitled “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing”. The proposed rule would faithfully implement the Fair Housing Act’s statutory mandate to affirmatively further fair housing (AFFH), which directs HUD to ensure that the agency and its program participants proactively take meaningful actions to overcome patterns of segregation, promote fair housing choice, eliminate disparities in opportunities, and foster inclusive communities free from discrimination.
The plan…
In the name of “equity,” the Biden administration and state Democrats have declared war on the suburbs:
Why does the left hate the suburbs? For starters, we tend to vote Republican. Worse still, we’re truly happy out here. The suburban way of life proves people live fuller lives if they are unbothered by central authority and control. We prove government causes way more problems than it solves, and nothing makes the left angrier than happy, contented people they cannot control. I would add that nothing proves that everything the left believes in is a lie more than the suburbs do. It’s in the blue cities where all the violence, hate crimes, lousy schools, traffic jams, gun violence, and environmental issues like smog occur. It’s out in the mostly ungoverned suburbs where people of all races get along; where our water, air, and streets are safe and clean; where the schools are functional; where we all own guns, but there’s hardly any gun violence. So what better way to destroy the suburbs than to turn the suburbs into just another lousy Democrat-run city? Once Democrats strip the suburbs of what makes them special — zoning laws that protect property values and avoid density — that’s the end of the suburbs. Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) knows exactly what she’s doing with a new law that will force “each town and village in the New York metro area to increase its housing stock to meet a uniform, state-imposed target and rezone for high-density housing – apartment buildings – within a half-mile of every MTA train stop.” What happens, then? The plague of failed cities spreads into these idyllic areas, and Democrats move in, those whose voting patterns ensure even more destruction, especially in the schools. “Say goodbye to quaint downtowns lined with two-story buildings and older houses.” Yep. That’s the master plan. <Source> |
The results…
The Great Exodus From Democrat Run Shithole Cities In record numbers. An estimated quarter million of New York residents are predicted to leave for good. 16,000 have already headed to Connecticut. Others are going to New England and Florida. People need their freedom. They need to live their lives and have the opportunity to support their families and keep them safe. Democrat run cities are dying and people are leaving. <Source> |
America's worst nightmare, California values go nationwide...
The progressive communist democrats want power, money, and obedience.
It is time to keep the progressive communist democrats out of your healthcare, education, housing, employment, and pocket. They have proven themselves to be a malignant, metastasizing cancer of incompetence and corruption that threatens to consume everyone and everything it touches. With the exception of specific non-discrimination laws which ensure equality under the law, it’s time to stop the Democrats from destroying our suburban neighborhoods.
The progressive communist democrats are not governing by legislation which would demand a congressional vote for all to see, but using the administrative rulemaking apparatus to sneak laws by “We the People” like thieves dead in the night.
We are so screwed.
