The incumbent Chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, Ronna McDaniel, won an unprecedented reelection for a fourth term with 111 votes in a closed-door matchup against California attorney Harmeet Dhillon (51 votes) and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell (4 votes). This in spite of major GOP electoral failures. 

What does this vote say about the Republican National Committee today?

(1)  Most committee members are apparently satisfied with positions that were taken by big-money establishment “business as usual” Republicans who are content to go along to get along. They mostly see the battle between the Democrats and the GOP as a business negotiation rather than an existential battle of conflicting ideologies. As long as elected Republicans get their share of the public plunder, they seem fine with the status quo.

(2)  The establishment wing has beaten back the party's conservative wing. Leaving it to conservatives to exploit their position in a thin-margin vote to extract concessions.

(3)  The big-money GOP does not want investigations of the Democrats lest their own nefarious activities be revealed.

(4)  McDaniel, 49, the niece of Republican Senator Mitt Romney of Utah, appears to feel entitled to the position for some inexplicable reason given her record of failure to support GOP candidates capable of winning, instead supporting Senate Majority Leader McConnell's establishment picks..

(5)  The RNC appears to be one giant money-sucking grift at this point. It is apparent that there’s no ideological core to the Republican Party beyond bumper-sticker slogans and platitudes. As far as I can tell, the RNC does little or nothing to advance liberty and freedom.

Bottom line…

The Republicans never miss an opportunity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

We are screwed.
