Epa-dsaFrom my viewpoint, the United States is under assault…

The progressive communist democrats have infiltrated our government, our premier intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and especially those executive branch agencies that control our critical infrastructure.

(1)  Our premier intelligence and law enforcement agencies have been politicized, and their leadership can no longer be trusted to protect our nation from its enemies, both foreign and domestic. At the same time, they waste time interfering in internal affairs, notably pursuing conservatives and followers of Donald Trump.

(2)  Likewise, our Congress members have covert and overt familial business relationships with Communist China and turn a blind eye to infrastructure incursions, including cyber-attacks and the theft of our intellectual property. Many lawmakers leave office and then openly advocate for foreign interests-- selling out Americans in the process.

(3)  But most insidious is the communist infiltration into the environmental movement, which openly colludes with a compromised Environmental Protection Agency that is trying to destroy our nation’s economy and industrial base.

(4)  Fracking (hydraulic fracturing) is the technology that allows recovering gas and oil from shale rock – and which allowed the United States to become energy independent and a net exporter of oil, gas, and petrochemicals.

Russian-funded environmental group gave millions to anti-fracking groups

U.S. House Science, Space, and Technology Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) and Energy Subcommittee Chairman Randy Weber (R-Texas) sent a letter to U.S. Department of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to request that the Department investigate allegations that Russian state sponsored entities interfered in the U.S. energy market by funneling Russian funds to radical environmental groups opposed to all fossil fuels.

Chairman Smith: “If you connect the dots, it is clear that Russia is funding U.S. environmental groups in an effort to suppress our domestic oil and gas industry, specifically hydraulic fracking.  They have established an elaborate scheme that funnels money through shell companies in Bermuda.  This scheme may violate federal law and certainly distorts the U.S. energy market.  The American people deserve to know the truth and I am confident Secretary Mnuchin will investigate the allegations.”

According to publicly available reports, the Russian government and complicit parties funneled money originating from Russia through Bermuda-based shell companies to environmental groups in the United States with the aim of disrupting the U.S. energy industry and influencing public opinion of the oil and gas industry. This scheme potentially violates federal statutes pertaining to agents of foreign governments or those lobbying on behalf of domestic and foreign interests.  The U.S. Treasury Department is well positioned to track the international money flowing into the U.S.

“U.S. presidential candidates, European officials, and the U.S. intelligence community have all publicly noted that Russia and its government corporations are funding a covert anti-fracking campaign to suppress the widespread adoption of fracking in Europe and the U.S.—all in an effort to safeguard the influence of the Russian oil and gas sector,” the letter states.

According to the reports, entities connected to the Russian government are using a shell company registered in Bermuda, Klein Ltd. (Klein), to funnel tens of millions of dollars to a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) private foundation, the Sea Change Foundation (Sea Change). This money appears to move in the form of anonymous donations. Sea Change then passes the money originating in Russia to various U.S. 501(c)(3) organizations such as the Sierra Club, League of Conservation Voters Education Fund, and others. These funds are dispersed as grants that will be used to execute a political agenda driven by Russian entities. The purpose of this circuitous exchange of foreign funds is to shield the source of the money. <Source>

In many cases, the environmentalists collude with the agencies to bypass legislation to implement rules through a sue-and-settle scheme.

Sue and Settle Litigation Undermines True Conservation

Are American conservationists being served by the Biden administration? By all indications, they aren’t.

From suspending the prescribed burn program to undermining domestic energy production, this White House masquerades their preservationist environmental agenda as true conservation.

Recently, the Department of Interior nixed their litigation website highlighting earnings environmental groups receive from settlement agreements in a practice known as “sue and settle.”

Biden Admin Gives License to ‘Sue and Settle’

On June 17, 2022, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland issued a Secretarial Order (Secretary’s Order 3408) revoking an Trump-era order (Secretary’s Order 3368) spotlighting consent decrees and legal settlements claiming it was redundant and inefficient.

“The previous Order added unnecessary obstacles to the Department’s ability to enter into rational and fair settlements, imposed requirements and timelines inconsistent with those set by courts, and added redundant reporting obligations,” an Interior Department statement read. “The previous Order provided no tangible benefits to the public while interfering with the Department’s ability to make decisions about litigation that are in the best interests of the federal government and taxpayers.”

This announcement interestingly coincides with the Center for Biological Diversity vs USFWS lawsuit to undo the 2020 opening of 2.2 million national wildlife refuges to new fishing and hunting opportunities because lead ammunition and tackle use is allowed. USFWS entered into settlement talks with the radical environmental organization. As a result of apparent talks, the DOI just proposed a rule, 2022-2023 Station-Specific Hunting and Sport Fishing Regulations, to phase out lead use at several national wildlife refuges by 2026.

This isn’t the first time the Biden administration gave a nod to “sue and settle” practices.

“Sue and settle became a tool for environmental activists to set favorable regulation through litigation. The process circumvented public transparency and participation requirements so the outcomes were more extreme,” Gunasekara remarked to Townhall.com in an email. “Instead of the agency setting standards to improve public health and the environment consistent with balanced principles set forth by Congress, the system was manipulated to achieve the ends of extreme groups working to put certain American industries -- coal, oil, natural gas --  out of business.”

She added, “I'm disappointed but not surprised the Biden Administration has reinstated “sue and settle” within EPA. Biden appointees will shovel taxpayer dollars to their political allies while setting unworkable standards as part of their ongoing war against fossil fuels.”  <Source>

The EPA is attempting to cripple gas and oil production in one of the most productive areas – much like using water rights to cripple California’s agriculture industry.

Biden’s Raid on the Permian Basin

A new ozone decision would force less drilling in America’s most productive shale reserve.

President Biden and his aides keep saying they’re doing everything they can to produce more oil and gas in the U.S. Apparently they think Americans aren’t paying attention, because his Administration keeps making rule after rule to throttle production.

The latest comes from the Environmental Protection Agency, which has announced it may soon deem parts of the Permian Basin in Texas and New Mexico in “non-attainment” with its ozone standards. Green groups last spring petitioned the EPA to do this to effectively force curbs on shale fracking. The Permian is currently the most productive, and cost-effective, oil shale reserve in the U.S. It accounts for 43% of U.S. oil production.

“The EPA’s process could interfere in the production of oil in Texas which could lead to skyrocketing prices at the pump by reducing production, increase the cost of that production, or do both,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott wrote Mr. Biden this week. “Your administration’s announced action is completely discretionary. Thus, you have the power to stop it.”

Since EPA doesn’t have the legal authority to ban fracking, it’s now trying to do so through this regulatory back door. We warned about this last year. Climate activists also want EPA to tighten ozone standards to indirectly regulate CO2 from fossil fuels. Joe Goffman, a champion of this idea, is leading EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation on an acting basis, and he’s in charge of ozone rules.

Mr. Goffman midwifed the Obama Clean Power Plan that had sought to conscript states into a force-fed green energy grid transition until the courts killed it. A 2014 article from E&E News described Mr. Goffman as the “U.S. EPA’s law whisperer. His specialty is teaching an old law to do new tricks.” How many more tricks does he have up his sleeve to keep gas prices high? <Source>

All is not lost...

Supreme Court Delivers a Great Win Curtailing the Power of Government in EPA Case

The Supreme Court sharply curtailed the power of the EPA to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions that cause climate change. In a 6-3 ruling written by Chief Justice John Roberts, the court sided with conservative states and fossil-fuel companies in adopting a narrow reading of the Clean Air Act.

Congress did not grant EPA…the authority to devise emissions caps based on the generation shifting approach the Agency took in the Clean Power Plan,” the majority wrote.
The ruling was spurred by an appeal to a decision last year that struck down a Trump-era power plant rule.

In appealing that decision, West Virginia asked the court to consider whether the EPA has the authority to try to push the entire system away from coal and reshape the country’s electric grid.

Justice Kagan in her dissent acted as though it was the Court’s responsibility to address climate change, rather than interpret the law and the Constitution. <Source>

Bottom line…

I believe in conservation, pollution control, and the good stewardship of our natural resources. I also believe in keeping our eyes open and developing situational awareness.

There is no doubt in my mind that the EPA has been corrupted by the communist-infiltrated environmental agencies and unregistered foreign agents advocating on behalf of foreign energy enterprises, both state-owned and privately owned by oligarchs.

Are we so freaking blind as to not see the corrupt relationship between the Biden’s and energy producers and marketers in Russia, China, and Ukraine? President Biden has already been recorded as confessing to selling his office and bribing the Ukraine government on behalf of his son Hunter.

Wake up, America, before we are screwed beyond the point of no return.

P.S. About that EPA logo – that’s the red rose of the Democrat Socialists of America, one of the champions of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the Green New Deal – the plan to destroy America’s economy through its energy sector.
