Gaza: Hamas Building New Terror Tunnels and Weapons Depots Near Hospitals, Schools, and Mosques

The Israel Defense Forces have released fresh evidence showing Hamas’s new terror tunnels and weapons depots deep inside Gaza residential areas. The IDF drone footage provided to the media reveals the presence of terror tunnels, arms factories and weapons stockpiles placed near schools, hospitals, and mosques.

The new terrorist facilities are built to cause maximum civilian casualties in case of an Israeli response to Hamas rocket fire. “In a briefing to members of the foreign press, the military presented aerial imagery and maps showing what it said are tunnels, weapons production sites and arms depots positioned near schools, hospitals, the al-Azhar University, a Pepsi factory, mosques and United Nations facilities,” the news outlet added. <Source>

State Dept. offers rewards of up to $10M for information on election interference

The U.S. government is offering rewards of up to $10 million for information about Russian internet trolls or foreigners who may try to meddle in the midterm elections.

The offer from the State Department’s Rewards for Justice program on Thursday is the latest sign that officials remain worried about ongoing interference by the Russian Internet Research Agency LLC, or IRA, and related entities who’ve tried to interfere in U.S. contests stretching back to 2014 and most notably in 2016.

Specifically, the State program is seeking information leading to “the identification or location of any foreign person, including a foreign entity, who knowingly engaged or is engaging in interference in U.S. elections, as well as information leading to the prevention, frustration, or favorable resolution of an act of foreign election interference.” <Source>

[OCS: One might correctly assume that this type of election interference is the purview of the Department of Justice, FBI, CIA, and NSA, not the State Department which demonstrably has interfered in the elections of other countries and who has most certainly interfered in the U.S. election with their phony witnesses and testimony over the past few years.

I wonder if the same “cyber intrusion specialists” owned by the Democrats who falsely labeled the DNC hack and other events as Russian interference will consider this a profit opportunity?]  

Leftists Really Don't Like Lauren Boebert's Proposal for More Time to Read Bills Before Voting on Them  

Colorado Republican Lauren Boebert has a stellar idea; lawmakers should do their jobs…but it would appear that many leftists have an issue with this.

You’d think being an elected member of congress would involve a lot of reading, seeing as how the proposed bills often affect the people they serve directly, but you’d be absolutely wrong. The number of things lawmakers don’t read is pretty shocking. They just vote yes or no and call it a day.

It’s a problem that even New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sees as an issue and spoke out about it after House Rules Committee Chairman James McGovern (D-MA) refused to hand out paper copies of the 5,593-page bill to pass the $1.4 trillion COVID relief bill.

“This is why Congress needs time to actually read this package before voting on it. Members of Congress have not read this bill. It’s over 5000 pages, arrived at 2pm today, and we are told to expect a vote on it in 2 hours,” she complained. <Source>

[OCS: Legislators fear the special interests more than their constituents, 80% of the population ill-informed on any given issue. Since they are unlikely to be held accountable for their actions or are insulated from the consequences of their legislation, why bother with honesty or reform?

Lawmakers call for Biden to take cognitive test, say Americans deserve ‘absolute confidence’ in him

Dozens of Republican lawmakers are calling for President Biden to take a cognitive test citing a spate of gaffes they say call into question the 79-year-old’s fitness for the job.

Rep. Ronny Jackson, a Texas Republican who served as the presidential physician to former Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, led 54 of his colleagues urging Mr. Biden to “submit to a cognitive test immediately.”

“The American people should have absolute confidence in their President, knowing that he or she can perform their duties as Head of State and Commander in Chief,” the lawmakers wrote in a letter to the president. “They deserve full transparency on the mental capabilities of their highest elected leader.” <Source>

ICE comes up empty in effort to find missing border jumpers

The Biden administration’s attempt to track down catch-and-release illegal immigrants and serve them with court summonses turned into a “complete waste of time,” according to officers who say they were pulled off higher priority cases to chase down “ghosts.”

Out of a universe of more than 30,000 potential targets, officers were able to locate and serve only about 600, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement sources.

That means tens of thousands of illegal border crossers remain at large in the country without an official Notice to Appear for their immigration proceedings — and there are no good prospects for tracking them down.

Officers who spoke to The Washington Times said the agency should have known the operation was doomed because the migrants had given bogus addresses to authorities when they were caught at the border. <Source>

San Francisco Declares State of Emergency over Monkeypox Outbreak

The city of San Francisco declared a state of emergency Thursday in response to an outbreak of monkeypox, an emerging viral disease primarily affecting gay men.

Democratic State Senator Scott Wiener, who represents San Francisco, claimed there’s been homophobic discrimination and hysteria that’s come with the proliferation of monkeypox in recent months.

“I came of age as a gay man in 1987, when I was 17 years old, and it was at one of the worst points of the AIDS crisis,” Wiener said at the news conference. “This is like deja vu that, once again, gay men are getting attacked and demonized and blamed as we get sick.”

Wiener has received backlash this week over his “gender-affirming healthcare” bill that critics claim would endanger children by facilitating out-of-state tourism for youth gender-transition treatments.

The rise of the virus seems to correspond with homosexual activity. For instance, leaps in monkeypox case numbers since late June in Los Angeles and San Francisco have tracked closely with Pride celebrations, the Los Angeles Times reported. <Source>

As Midterms Loom, Congress Fears Domestic Disinformation

Witnesses testifying in a recent congressional hearing said domestic sources are playing a strong role in driving online falsehoods that undermine faith in elections and inspire real-world violent attacks.

Federal lawmakers are looking to learn more about combating mis- and disinformation as midterm elections approach. Domestic sources have emerged as the greatest perpetrators of falsehoods, said several witnesses during a July 27 House hearing.

“ISD research suggests domestic disinformation targets Americans at a higher volume and frequency than foreign campaigns,” testified Jiore Craig, head of digital integrity at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), a think tank that analyzes extremism.

Domestic actors can be particularly convincing. For example, some social media ads tout election falsehoods while featuring trustworthy-sounding organization names and, without permission, displaying images of trusted public figures, Craig said. <Source>

Los Angeles bans observers from watching county District Attorney Gascon recall effort count

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon has gained national notoriety for his shocking incompetence as a prosecutor. He has come to symbolize everything that is wrong about the Soros-backed “Defund the Police” movement and its emissaries.

Monitors will not be allowed to view the vote counting in the recall balloting for Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon because the county does not consider the process as an election, officials say.

The law does indeed clearly identify recalls as elections, and supporting language can be found in the Procedures For Recalling State and Local Officials handbook provided by the state. <Source>
