DOES THE GOP HAVE THE COJONES TO FIGHT IN 2022?

WAR

Granted, President Donald Trump loves America, instinctively knew what was right and wrong, and was unafraid of doing battle with corrupt, compromised mainstream media.

However, the failure of Donald Trump was threefold, one, he was lazy and implemented the Trump Organization's style of governance designed for his specific comfort; two, he was transactional and accepting of dodgy associates who were considered and accepted on a case-by-case basis for what they could do for Trump at the moment; and three, he did not take the time and effort to de-nazify the bureaucracy, leaving Obamacons and communists in place in the nation's intelligence and law enforcement agencies, the Department of State, and other powerful institutions.

To be fair to Trump, many talented, experienced, and competent individuals were simply afraid to accept positions within his administration. Mainly fearing having their innermost secrets revealed in the media or being attacked by the intelligence and law enforcement agencies on trumped-up allegations. All of which we saw arrayed against Lt. General Michael Flynn and others.

And yet, this one man stood against the tide of creeping communism.

The problem still exists should the GOP take over the House and Senate in 2022 and the Presidency in 2024.

Will anyone hold the Obama administration accountable for its criminal activities and subversion of the electoral process?

Will the House leadership under a rather feckless Californian, Kevin McCarthy, be willing to hold Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, and the communist members of the Congressional Black Caucus to account for their actions in abusing the power of their office? Will the leadership reach deep into Congressional staffs to slay swamp creatures? Will they call out those in the GOP, like Mitt Romney, who are wishy-washy aisle hoppers and corruptors?

In the Senate, who will replace Mitch McConnell, who, like many others, is compromised by his family's corrupt dealings with Communist China?

What of those billions of dollars that flowed to American oligarchs? Waste, fraud, and abuse? What of the inflation, taxation, and regulation that is skyrocketing?

What of the corrupt communist progressive communist Democrat-dominated public employee unions?

DOES THE GOP HAVE THE GUTS TO STAND UP TO COMMUNISM, OR WILL THEY CONTINUE TO TINKER AROUND THE EDGES UNTIL THE PROGRESSIVE COMMUNIST DEMOCRATS RETURN TO POWER?

Bottom line…

We are so screwed – I see us heading down the same road under the current leadership of the Democrats and the Republicans, both corrupted by money and the ideology that allows those in power to stay in power.

The truth is that our enemies are in control, and there is no quick fix even if the GOP took  Congress, the Presidency, and the Judiciary. You cannot turn back a tide that has been growing for almost one hundred years. You adapt and create defensible shelters that permit survival until the madness destroys itself. And it all starts with fixing our communist-infiltrated educational system and sanctioning lawyers who are turning our Constitution into a suicide pact with their misbehavior.

Any way you re-name, re-brand, or re-package what the Democrats are selling, it's COMMUNISM!

Fight back: make them tell you, in detail, what they want to replace our institutions with and what is their path forward?  If they want to talk about critical race theory, ask them how critical race theory is different from what is being sold by Louis Farakahn -- an anti-America, anti-White, Black separatist/nationalist anti-Semite? Ask them why they talk about groups, but not about individuals and personal freedoms?

But don't expect answers for they do not believe in free speech, the discussion of competing ideas, and your right to point out their flaws in a public manner.

IN THE MILITARY, HESITANCY AND INDECISION IS DEATH

WARRIORSI can not believe the shortsightedness of our senior military leaders to allow the teaching of critical race theory, which, in my mind, borders on dereliction of duty and illegal politicking…

The_Washington_Post_logo_newspaper

Opinion: I’m a professor at a U.S. military academy. Here’s why I teach critical race theory.

Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark A. Milley’s recent defense of teaching critical race theory at the U.S. military academies shows that it is not unpatriotic to understand a fuller version of American history, nor does it promote division among our military members.

[OCS: The history of the United States is misrepresented by those who teach critical race theory, primarily because it views every event, individual, and institution in terms of a Marxist struggle between competing racial forces: the oppressor and the oppressed.

It starts from the premise that the United States was illegitimately conceived, the land was stolen from the indigenous people of color, and proceeds to denigrate and disparage every current event in terms of what occurred decades ago.

How can it not produce division among servicemembers when it informs some of them, the majority of them being outstanding high achievers, that they are somehow to be viewed by their white classmates as second-class citizens? Something that is guaranteed to reduce good order and discipline, and possibly, well-armed and well-trained future domestic terrorists.]

As a professor of political science at the U.S. Air Force Academy, I teach critical race theories to our nation’s future military leaders because it is vital that cadets understand the history of the racism that has shaped both foreign and domestic policy.

[OCS: There is something to be said for teaching military history, especially tactics and outcomes, in the context of the times. But to skip ahead, to use the past to paint a picture of systemic racism and continued victimhood, is grossly inappropriate in today’s future officer corps.]

Cadets, like all military members, take an oath to defend the Constitution with their lives — so it is crucial they have a sensitive understanding of that Constitution.

[OCS: Our Constitution is an ideal that was designed specifically to protect our inalienable rights and the rights of the individual states from a powerful federal government. It is a color-blind document having nothing to do with race.

And for those who argue about the three-fifths clause diminishing blacks, let us remember, it was not claiming that a black person was 3/5ths of a person, but part of a compromise for counting the population for the purposes of limiting the influence of the Southern States in the House of Representatives. The goal was intended to provide rough equality in representation between the North and the South. Yes, hateful things may have been said, but they should be viewed in the context of their time and not used as an attempt to prove systemic racism.]

In my classes, cadets learn about the ideals embedded in this founding document. We explore the liberalist theories that promoted these ideals, and we embrace our democratic system of government. But we also acknowledge that the United States was founded on a duality: liberalism and equal rights on the one hand; inequality, inegalitarianism, and second-class citizenship on the other.

Critical race theory provides an academic framework to understand these nuances and contradictions. It helps students identify the structural racism and inequality that has been endemic in American society. And it provides methods for deconstructing oppressive beliefs, policies and practices to find solutions that will lead to justice.

[OCS: Critical race theory is not an analytical tool that permits a fair examination of history. It is a tool of pure, unadulterated racism to apply and implement the Marxist belief of a constant struggle between the oppressed and the oppression to bring about a transformative revolution that destroys the current political and cultural systems to implement a mythical, more perfect world under communism.

The key difference between the two systems can be defined in terms of equality. A capitalist system standing for individualism, merit, and equality of opportunity, and the communist system standing for collectivism, disincentive, and equality of outcome -- the ultimate slavery and exploitation of producers by non-producers as suggested by, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.” ]

The reality of the Constitution is that it upholds the rule of law and human rights, but once also allowed slavery and has been used to perpetuate legal discrimination. As Frederick Douglass pointed out, although the Declaration of Independence and Constitution espoused liberty and justice, enslaved people had no part of those virtues and no reason to celebrate a day like the Fourth of July. Thurgood Marshall suggested a “sensitive understanding of the Constitution’s inherent defects and its promising evolution.”

[OCS: Admittedly, the Constitution was politically interpreted in the context of those times in ways that were hurtful to a segment of the population, but we see much the same thing today when the Constitution is manipulated to find new rights and restrictions where none explicitly exists.

Notice what the author did. Skipped over decades of racial progress to suggest that today’s environment is every bit as systemically racist as it was in prior times. Justifying current racism by pointing to past racism.

It is not up to military cadets to understand the Constitution's nuances and debate its merits in terms of race. It should be accepted as a controlling self-correcting document upon which American exceptionalism is based.]

This extends to understanding ourselves as the U.S. military. The military was among the first institutions to desegregate and has a celebrated history of diversity in its ranks, though that history has long been complicated. For instance, serving in the military was a path to freedom for some enslaved people, and thousands of Black soldiers, both enslaved and free, fought for America as early as the Revolutionary War. At the same time, George Washington is said to have initially opposed the recruitment of Black soldiers.

[OCS: The key to a military victory is an unshakeable belief in the rightness of your nation and boldness of action while following orders and putting the mission in the forefront. Not to hesitate while you reconsider the merits of a Marxist argument. The ability and wisdom to lead come later with experience.]

In other words, racism was ingrained in the system from the beginning, and the military still struggles with these issues. As a recent inspector general’s report on disparities in the Air Force and Space Force pointed out, Black service members lag behind their White peers in promotion rates but are overrepresented in disciplinary actions. Further, a recent Defense Department report documented the threat of white supremacy within the ranks. Cadets need to understand these contradictions within their institutions.

[OCS: Critical race theory is being used for sowing dissention and disruption in the ranks. The guiding principle should be “Rank hath its privileges,” Everyone else is treated equally, like dirt. A mass of blue-green individuals that bleed bright red when they are wounded.

To introduce historical wrongs and suggest they are ongoing is wrong, counterproductive, and destructive to morale.

As for reports and their stage-managed findings, they are produced by those trying to satisfy a hyper-partisan civilian leadership. The ranks of the officer corps were decimated by former President and Communist-in-Chief who wanted to weaken the military with the removal of battle-hardened patriots in favor of slavishly obedient military servants.]

In addition to teaching critical race theories, I provide my cadets with lessons on political discourse and breaking down divides of polarization through communication and empathy. Cadets at the Air Force Academy will soon command racially diverse units. Racial minorities serve, especially in the enlisted corps, at greater rates than their representation in the general civilian workforce. As of May 2018, Black representation in the enlisted force was 19.1 percent, compared with roughly 13 percent in the general workforce.

[OCS: No, you are producing and reinforcing racial polarization using critical race theory.]

Officers must comprehend the unique experiences and concerns of their diverse troops. A holistic education leads to understanding and unity as service members consider what it’s like to walk in another’s shoes.

[OCS: This is pure bullshit! Officers need to concentrate on their mission while seeing to the welfare of their men – treating soldiers as soldiers, not woke civilians. There is no touchy-feely in the militaries of our enemies who are trying their best to kill or, better yet, maim us.]

Our officer development curriculum is founded on pushing cadets outside their comfort zones: They jump out of planes, leap off 10-meter platforms, endure grueling physical challenges and assume difficult command responsibilities. Their intellectual development should be no different. To think critically and read broadly is fundamental to making them future leaders for times of both war and peace.

[OCS: They are attending a military institution, not finding themselves at a liberal arts college. They should be taught useful things that will improve their survival, martial skills, and how to destroy the enemy. Not snowflake claptrap.]

I don’t coddle my cadets out of fear that exposure to certain literatures might make them uncomfortable or test their existing beliefs. Cadets must learn to be brave on the literal battlefield, yes — but they must also be equipped to participate bravely on the battlefield of ideas.

[OCS: Our enemies are killers, not debaters. You don’t hold discussions with the enemy; you kill them.]

Lynne Chandler García is an associate professor of political science at the U.S. Air Force Academy. The views expressed are the author’s own.

So, I am not surprised when Representative Mark Green (R-TN), himself a physician, a retired and highly decorated U.S. Army Major, and a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, took exception and requested the removal of the instructor from the Air Force Academy…

grn-hdr

Professor Lynne Chandler García’s full-throttled attack on our country and her support for Critical Race Theory render her unqualified to teach in one of our prestigious military academies. How are our future Air Force leaders supposed to take an oath to defend the Constitution if they are being taught that it is racist and promotes inequality?

As a graduate of West Point and Army veteran, I know firsthand what is taught at these service academies leaves a lasting impact. It was at West Point where I first raised my right hand and took the oath to defend our Constitution. My professors there taught me the importance of serving our nation—both in uniform and in public office. And it was at West Point where I was first inspired to run for office.

Teaching our next generation that our country is fundamentally racist is not only propagandizing lies about our great nation, it will also undoubtedly leave an impact on our nation’s Armed Forces and national security. If we want servicemembers who are proud to defend this country, we must not denigrate the very principles upon which it was founded. Making them ashamed of their country will only decrease morale, retention, and unit cohesion.

Critical Race Theory teaches that the only way to right past racial discrimination is with present racial discrimination. This teaching is utterly incompatible with the principles in the Declaration of Independence and the Civil Rights Movement—not to mention illegal. Our country already lived through a horrific era when people were judged by the color of their skin rather than by the content of their character—we must never go back to this way of thinking.

Lastly, the Constitution has brought freedom and self-governance, not only to the United States of America, but to nations around the globe. Our men and women in uniform have been fighting for the ideals of democracy, freedom, and equality throughout the world ever since. To suggest that these causes and wars were birthed out of racism disrespects those who died fighting against the Nazis in Europe, communists in Asia, or terrorists in the Middle East.

If we allow this destructive ideology to be taught in our Military Service Academies, we will be responsible for this nation’s demise. Professor García must be removed from her teaching position, and for the sake of our national security: Stop Critical Race Theory from being taught in our military service academies. <Source>

Bottom line…

It is abhorrent that the Democrat Party has been infiltrated with communists and represents a fifth column to destroy America from within. Our enemies have been given seats in Congress, entrée to the White House, and positions of power in our government, institutions, and critical infrastructure. We must stop them before they destroy our military who defend the Constitution of the United States and the safety and security of America and all Americans.

We are so screwed.

SPIKE LEE: A MULTI-MILLIONAIRE RACIST AND FABULIST?

There is no doubt in my mind that multi-millionaire film mogul Spike Lee, seen here wearing a hat associated with a demonstrable false revisionist history of the United States created by communists, has no problem exploiting an anti-police trope…

spikeLee

“A couple weeks ago was the 32nd anniversary of the film [Do the Right Thing] I wrote it in 1988. When you see brother Eric Garner, when you see king George Floyd murdered, lynched, I think of Radio Raheem. And you would think and hope that 30-something motherf—-ing years later, that Black people would stop being hunted down like animals. So, I’m glad to be here, though.” [Radio Raheem, a fictional character in “Do the Right Thing,” dies at the hands of police in the film.] <Source>

If the video is missing, it can be found here.

Like fellow multi-millionaire White filmmaker Michael Moore,  I have often wondered if they were exploiting a narrative of false rage to promote a radical far-left communist agenda? Something good for their personal brand, fortunes, and a source of continuing media attention? Likewise, there is no doubt in my mind that Lee is a good filmmaker, although I think his films are shot 1 f-stop too dark.

Bottom line…

To me, Spike Lee is a liar – there is no proof that Black people are being hunted down like animals by the police or anyone other than by black gangbangers and criminals. However, there is sufficient proof that young Black people represent a clear and present danger to other Black individuals and a threat to their community. But that’s a story that does not sell tickets, does not gain media attention, and does not fit the progressive communist democrat narrative.

As for George Floyd, he was no hero, no agent of change, and certainly no civil rights icon. He was a drug-addled felon who brought about his own death by refusing to comply with the lawful orders of a police officer.

Like the false Michael Brown “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” meme, the evidence presented in court did not support the allegation that Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin had his knee on Floyd’s neck for 9-minutes or compressed his neck. Considering the fatal level of Fentanyl in Floyd’s system, his underlying medical condition, and his struggle to resist arrest, the major cause of Floyd's death was his own making.

While Chauvin may deserve some degree of discipline for the poor procedure, his murder conviction is a political prosecution by individuals acceding to a hostile racist mob led by professional Communist agitators. To believe that Chauvin’s life of crime was worth $27 million from the City of Minneapolis, Minnesota, is an example of the grotesque political posturing of politicians at the taxpayer’s expense.

COMMIES IN CONGRESS

For those of you who are still politically naïve or simply blind and stupid, you may have missed the infiltration and capture of the Democrat Party, always left-leaning, by radical communists…

NEO-DEMOCRATFLAG1

The Democrat Party of your youth, liberal but willing to listen and compromise, is dead. Done in by white guilt, political correctness, multi-culturalism, and the type of moral equivalency advanced by the communists in academia and the legal profession, be they called Marxists, Socialists, Maoists, Leninists, or some such,

Spread by individuals who think they are hip, chic, au courant, and relevant by being “down with the revolution.” A revolution that they do not understand is suicidal to their nation, their culture, their way of life, and perhaps their literal life.

Some are insulated from their advocacy by their wealth, power, or position – but it is temporary as the regime will eventually turn on them for being what they are: society's “fat cats.”

Democratic Socialists of America Meet With Dictator Nicolás Maduro

Leaders of the largest socialist political organization in the United States, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), which has endorsed prominent U.S. House members, met with Venezuelan Dictator Nicolás Maduro on July 2.

The DSA has endorsed self-professed Democratic Socialists to the U.S. House of Reps., including Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Cori Bush (D-Mo.), and Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.).

DSA says it has 92,000 members and chapters in all 50 states, and the DSA website states they are fighting capitalism. Adding, “We know our economic system is rooted in white supremacy and the capitalist class depends on racism to divide and oppress the working class.”  <Source>

The following American politicians are members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and have held elected or appointed office in the United States. The DSA is a political nonprofit organization and not a political party, therefore DSA members usually run as members of the Democratic Party, Green Party, Working Families Party, or as independents.

In the 2017 elections, DSA members were elected to fifteen state and local offices. In the 2018 midterm elections, DSA members Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib were elected to the United States House of Representatives and DSA members were elected to over forty state and local offices. In the 2020 elections, DSA members Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush were elected to the House and at least thirty-six DSA members won office, earning more than 3.1 million votes. <Source>

Six members of the US Congress traveled to Castro’s Communist Cuba over the weekend to open talks aimed at establishing a cooperative relationship between the United States and Communist Cuba. The six member Congressional delegation to Cuba included the following House Representatives;

Hon. Emanuel Cleaver (MO-05)
Hon. Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11)
Hon. Barbara Lee (CA-09)
Hon. Laura Richardson (CA-37)
Hon. Bobby Rush (IL-01)
Hon. Mel Watt (NC-12)

All six are leadership members within the 2009 Congressional Black Caucus. The caucus, founded by one time card carrying member of the Communist Party,  U.S. Congressman John Conyers, Jr. of Michigan, has 42 members as of today, 30 of which are also members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

The Congressional Progressive Caucus is the official legislative arm of the Democratic Socialists of America, boasting 76 congressional members today, 30 of which are also members of the Congressional Black Caucus.

The Democratic Socialists of America proudly proclaim, “The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is the largest socialist organization in the United States, and the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International. DSA’s members are building progressive movements for social change while establishing an openly socialist presence in American communities and politics.” <Source>

How dangerous is the national security threat of embedded communists in our government?

A Chinese ‘Spy Recruitment’ Scholar Is Now Running Joe Biden’s NSA Personnel Department.

Thomas Zimmerman – a Special Assistant to Joe Biden on National Security Agency personnel – formerly served as a visiting scholar at a Chinese Communist Party think-tank labeled as a “front group for Chinese intelligence collection and overseas spy recruitment” by the FBI, The National Pulse can reveal.

The stunning revelation – that Joe Biden’s intelligence apparatus relies on the recruitment from a recent collaborator with the Chinese Communist Party – comes just weeks after the G7 summit where Western nations pledged tougher measures against an increasingly aggressive Beijing.

Zimmerman’s influence over the National Security Agency (NSA) also follows explosive allegations from Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Carlson recently claimed the agency has covertly accessed his emails and texts. The NSA did not outright deny the allegations. <Source>

How did Zimmerman get a security clearance from the FBI? Oh, I forgot -- the FBI was infiltrated too! Openly spying on Americans. Lying to the FISA court. Collaborating with foreign intelligence services against American citizens. Using Russian disinformation. And altering CIA information to pursue an American patriot.  Even communists in the Democrat Party can get clearances if they are politicians, appointees, or nominees. Even proven bad actors can keep their security clearances after they leave government service -- to use in the private sector.

Bottom line…

You cannot trust the Democrats in Congress and other elected and appointed positions to represent and serve their constituents. They represent a fifth column attempting to destroy America from within on behalf of foreign hostile powers. There is little or no doubt in my mind that the members of the Congressional Black Caucus are racists that are exploiting blacks on behalf of international communism.

The Democrats cannot be trusted with national defense, national security, or to support and defend the United States Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

We are so screwed.

ONCE AGAIN: SCIENCE IS BEING USED TO SUPPORT A POLITICAL NARRATIVE

It is sad and tragic when a respected publication like National Geographic, a national institution, sacrifices its historical reputation and current creditability to promote junk science and a political narrative.

natgeo

Questionable “science” to support a political narrative...

It appears that the progressive communist democrats want to limit any public or private display of patriotism on the 4th of July and use “science” to justify restrictive public policies.

National_Geographic_Logo.svg

(Excerpts) from “The hidden toll of July Fourth fireworks.”

It’s no secret that fireworks can cause some serious air pollution, in the United States as well as in other countries where holiday displays are common, like China and India. But not everyone is equally at risk from the noxious particles that suffuse the sky during our pyrotechnic light shows. In California, for example, vulnerable populations are more exposed to fireworks pollution on the Fourth of July.

[OCS: In many parts of California, fireworks are banned due to the risk of wildfires or fires in densely populated neighborhoods located in brushy areas. Many of the largest pyrotechnic holiday displays are government-sanctioned, government-produced community displays.]

That’s according to a recent study published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health on air pollution exposure across the state due to Independence Day fireworks. At its peak, the smoke from these events can be comparable to that from wildfires, the study found. The authors also showed that fireworks smoke may be creating an additional—albeit short term—health risk for communities already disproportionately burdened by air pollution: Urban ones with higher rates of asthma, more older residents, and a greater percentage of children under 10. These areas also tended to have more Black and Hispanic residents than those with less Fourth of July air pollution.

[OCS: It is also true that the use of fireworks among minority communities is often greater than in the general population. In Southern California, the trek to Mexico to buy powerful fireworks is almost a rite of passage in certain communities.]

The high-risk communities identified in the study have “perpetual exposure to hazardous environmental toxins,” says Aisha Dickerson, an environmental epidemiologist at Johns Hopkins University who wasn’t involved with the paper. “This aggravates an already prevalent and persistent issue.”

Where there’s fire, there’s smoke.

Fireworks don’t just produce colorful, crackling light displays: They also create puffs of smoke. What’s less widely known is that the smoke can be dangerous. Fireworks smoke includes particulate matter—an asthma trigger and a leading contributor to respiratory disease—as well as a cocktail of toxic metals like strontium, barium, and lead.

[OCS: Many common household products present similar or more serious threats to those with underlying medical conditions.]

And while the pollution from a single fireworks display tends to dissipate quickly, many fireworks being set off over the Fourth of July can cause regional air pollution levels to spike and remain elevated for several days, posing a potentially serious health risk to vulnerable populations.

[OCS: We are speaking of vulnerable individuals whose individual self-reliance should inform their participation in dangerous activities or failure to take the required precautions against harm. We do not ban cars to protect senior citizens crossing streets – even if that is a measurable cohort at risk.]

Crowd-sourced data

For the new study, the UC Irvine-based team of researchers took advantage of the recent proliferation of home air-quality monitors to explore how Fourth of July fireworks pollution varies across communities in California. The scientists analyzed publicly crowdsourced data from 751 commercial PurpleAir sensors in private residences across the state during June and July of 2019 and 2020.

In both years, the team looked at county and census district-level patterns in fine, inhalable particles less than 2.5 micrometers across, called PM2.5. To determine whether certain populations are more exposed to this pollution, the researchers compared the 2019 results with state-reported data on racial demographics, socioeconomic status, health indicators, and more.

The researchers found that Fourth of July fireworks pollution, although transient, can be significant. In Orange County, hourly levels of PM2.5 rose up to three times higher than normal on July 4, 2019, while Los Angeles County pollution levels soared up to 10 times higher than average on July 4, 2020. The festivities in the L.A. metro area last year produced as much smoke as a moderate wildfire.

Vulnerable populations appear to be more exposed to this pollution: On average, the authors found that PM2.5 spikes around the Fourth of July were higher in urban census tracts in Southern California, areas that tend to have higher asthma rates, more older individuals and small children, and more Black and Hispanic residents, compared with rural census tracts and those further north. Southern California metropolitan areas also tend to have fewer restrictions on municipal fireworks shows and looser oversight of at-home fireworks use compared with their counterparts in Northern California.

“L.A. has less stringent policies regarding bigger fireworks shows and purchases by residents,” says Jun Wu, a professor of public health at UC Irvine and the senior author on the study.

Dickerson says she’d expect to see a similar pattern of exposure to fireworks-related air pollutants elsewhere around the country.

“A lot of the fireworks displays typically happen in the bigger cities, especially along coastal communities, and lower income [minority] communities typically are closer to those ports,” she says.

Compound threats

[OCS: Enter the progressive political narrative… How many ways can we justify public policies to restrict or eliminate patriotic fireworks displays on the 4th of July?]

The consequences of poor enforcement of fireworks regulations were laid bare last Fourth of July, when the cancellation of municipal fireworks displays due to the coronavirus pandemic prompted many people to purchase online and shoot off illegal fireworks, including bottle rockets and aerial shells at home. (In California, only non-aerial fireworks like sparklers are allowed for at-home use.) As a result, fireworks pollution was elevated across California in 2020 compared with 2019. Considering the established link between air pollution and more severe COVID-19 outcomes, Wu says last year’s pyrotechnics might have worsened the pandemic.

She’s expecting this Fourth of July to also feature higher levels of at-home, illegal fireworks activity, noting that in her neighborhood, she’s been hearing telltale explosions for the last few days. Elsewhere in the state, residents have been complaining to authorities about fireworks noise for weeks, according to the New York Times.

Compounding the risks of fireworks this year, much of the West is currently in the grips of a historic drought, while the Pacific Northwest and parts of Canada are emerging from a record heat wave. These conditions have primed the West for wildfires—and each year, Fourth of July fireworks celebrations are one of the most predictable sources of ignition. Wildfires also produce dangerous smoke, notes Michael Kleinman, an air pollution researcher at UC Irvine who wasn’t involved with the paper.

“While these [wildfire smoke] spikes are not as intense as the fireworks spikes, they now occur nearly year-round,” Kleinman wrote in an email. “These can in turn elicit increased incidences of severe health effects for sensitive or susceptible individuals.”

[OCS: Most wildfires are caused by lightning strikes, failures of electrical transmission equipment, and activities of the homeless. And fueled by decades of forest mismanagement and lack of brush clearance demanded by progressive communist democrat environmentalists.]

Given all the risks, Wu suggests it’s time for city and local governments to more aggressively crack down on illegal fireworks—something several California cities are attempting to do this year—and consider shifting to other types of public displays, such as drone light shows. Individuals susceptible to air pollution can limit their exposure on the Fourth of July by wearing masks or watching the show from indoors, Wu says.

Dickerson agrees that masks are a “reasonable and feasible public health measure.”

“Wearing a mask is not this foreign concept anymore,” she says.

[OCS: Only N95 masks are EFFECTIVE as they protect against 95% of non-oil-based particles 0.3microns or larger.]

Junk science?

Background: “PurpleAir uses laser particle counters to count suspended 2.5 micron-sized particles in the atmosphere. The particle counts are processed using a complex algorithm to calculate the PM2.5 mass concentration in ug/m3. The sensors come factory calibrated. The cost of a PurpleAir sensor ranges from $200 to $250 and is unlikely to be purchased by minorities or other individuals in lower socio-economic strata.

The greatest issue with studies of this type is that correlation does not equate to causation. That is, observing a phenomenon within the boundaries of known medical conditions proves nothing as the study is uncontrolled for the severity of individual conditions, pre-existing medical issues, and any underlying co-morbidities.

This does not stop individuals and organizations from using junk science to promote their narratives. Consider the hypothesis that the number of heart attacks might increase due to smoke on the 4th of July. Yes, it is a real media story -- “Can smoke from fireworks lead to a stroke or heart attack?? | VERIFY.” However, this is just another generalized correlation between heart attacks and particulate matter that is meaningless.

The authors note the actual limitations in the study…

Abstract: Fireworks are often used in celebration, causing short term, extremely high particulate matter air pollution. In recent years, the rapid development and expansion of low-cost air quality sensors by companies such as PurpleAir has enabled an understanding of air pollution at a much higher spatiotemporal resolution compared to traditional monitoring networks.

[OCS: The greatest concentration of particulate matter on the 4th of July may arise from the traditional use of outdoor grills in the area.]

In this study, real-time PM2.5 measurements from 751 PurpleAir sensors operating from June to July in 2019 and 2020 were used to examine the impact of 4th of July fireworks on hourly and daily PM2.5 concentrations at the census tract and county levels in California.

[OCS: The sample size, dispersion, and demographics of likely device purchasers casts doubt on the usefulness of this study beyond curiosity and allowing academics to add another paper to their resume.]

Limitations of this study include the potential for temporal mismatch between the demographic factors and the 4th of July PM2.5 concentration data, given that most of the population and pollution indicators from the CES 3.0 dataset were obtained before 2016, while the PurpleAir data were collected in 2019 and 2020.

Additionally, PM2.5 levels within the census tracts were estimated using averaging measurements from all of the sensors within those tracts. Thus, the number of sensors may affect the average values, with higher uncertainties in the census tracts with a lower number of sensors.

While the temporal and spatial resolution of measurements is improved significantly relative to prior studies, less than 10% of all the census tracts in California were covered by the PurpleAir sensor network as of 2019. Thus, many census tracts were not represented in this study.

[OCS: This is analogous to the number of sensors, their locations, and the mathematical manipulation of the data found in global climate change studies.]

Additionally, given that the PurpleAir network does not represent random sampling, census tract-level analyses contain an inherent sampling bias, which limited our ability to determine finer scale variability between certain areas depending on socioeconomic factors and firework-related PM2.5 levels.

Lastly, this study only characterized air pollution in the form of PM2.5 as opposed to other air pollutants, such as black carbon and gaseous pollutants.

[OCS: You should note that the author’s conclusions below mirror the language of the progressive communist democrats.]

Conclusions

This study revealed peaks and hotspots in sensor-based PM2.5 concentrations during the 4th of July episode at a fine temporal and spatial resolution across California.

Census tract-based analyses indicated that firework-related PM2.5 levels varied substantially and were disproportionately elevated in communities characterized by higher proportions of minority group populations, children and elderly residents, and asthma rates, thus underscoring the importance of environmental justice and education about the hazardous effects of short-term household and city-permitted firework displays.

[OCS: There is no doubt that one of the most important goals of the progressive communist democrats is to destroy history, traditions, institutions, and cultural practices that promote individuality, patriotism, love of nation, and a multi-cultural enjoyment of traditional holidays. Something is always hazardous to some cohort of individuals and can be exploited for political gain.]

Analyses of regional and local firework regulations across the state showcased the effectiveness of county-wide and city-wide policy in reducing short-term air pollution during the 4th of July period.

[OCS: The government is not the solution to a non-existent 4th of July air pollution problem. Maybe we should ban the use of private jets for one week preceding and following major holidays as an offset. After all, shouldn’t the rich be punished?]

Further research on socioeconomic factors among neighborhoods near regular firework
shows should be carried out to help inform policies that more equitably protect the health and environment of vulnerable populations.

[OCS: This is the beginning. Look for the progressive communist democrats to bleat in unison, “it’s for the kids,” or “if we only save one life.”]

Bottom line…

Sorry you communist cretins, but I will not support anything that impedes or impacts the celebration of the 4th of July and the signing of the Declaration of Independence of the United States on July 4, 1776.

Apparently, these same asswipes have no problem with Antifa and Black Lives Matter when they attack property and police officers with commercial-grade fireworks in cities like Portland, Oregon.

I AGREE WITH THE NEW YORK TIMES, THE AMERICAN FLAG IS DIVISIVE…

It is not often that I agree with the New York Times, the paper that knowingly censored the news of the Holocaust and Stalin’s ethnic cleansing in Ukraine. The paper that cheerfully puts our nation at risk by printing intelligence methods and sources to provide aid and comfort to our enemies. The paper that lies, using anonymous sources rather than reporting the facts.

But, today, as I celebrate the Fourth of July, I find myself in total agreement with the New York Times.

nyt-1

Think about what the New York Times just said in its verified official Twitter feed – that you somehow can use the American flag as an indicator, albeit an imperfect indicator, of a person’s political affiliations. It’s a true statement.

  • Consider, when you fly the flag of another foreign nation, you are probably indicating your allegiance is first and foremost to a foreign sovereign power.
  • Consider, when you fly the communist flag, you are probably indicating your allegiance is first and foremost to a political ideology that is authoritarian, oppressive, and brings death, suffering, and misery to all but the ruling elites.
  • Consider, when you fly the pride flag, you are probably indicating that your allegiance is first and foremost to your sexual organs rather than your country.

Yes, flying the American flag is divisive.

AMERICAN-FLAG

It divides those of us who honor our country, its constitution, and its exceptionalism from those who hate their country and believe America is a colonial oppressor, systematically racist, and needs to be fundamentally transformed into a communist paradise of unicorns, rainbow farts, and self-licking lollipops.

But most of all, it divides the shit-weasels, Mofos, assholes, and garbage people from the rest of us patriotic Americans.

And there is nothing like flying the Democrat Party flag to remind everyone you are an ASS!

Bottom line…

I hope you are enjoying your non-political, non-denominational, non-ideological barbeque today.

ONE CITIZEN SPEAKING | NOT SO HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY

On this sacred day, I can only fear for our nation and its freedoms as the socialists, communists, and anarchists who have destroyed so many nations and their economies continue their rampage across America…

All with the willing acceptance of the Democrat Party who will do or say anything, no matter how false or damaging to this nation, to gain political power.

Should the Democrats ever implement their corrupt spending bills, our military, industrial capacity, and the entire economy will descend into chaos.

Consider that if you support capitalism, the end state is more capitalism, but if you support socialism, the end state is always an authoritarian dictatorship and fewer individual freedoms.

This is a magnificent country; let us hope it remains that way in the future.

Bottom line…

Do not let the Democrats project their sins on you.

Look backward in time, and you will find that it was the Democrats who were the party of slavery, segregation, oppression, Jim Crow, the KKK, and the battle against civil rights legislation. It was Biden who embraced, the eulogized, a former segregationist and Klan member, Robert Byrd.

Look beyond the words, and you will see that communist Critical Race Theory is racist, punishing one race to advantage another. When the communists speak of equity, they deny you the equality of opportunities – to be replaced with re-distributive equality of outcomes.

Look beyond the limited staged outings, and you will see President Biden is cognitively impaired and the perfect puppet for his Obama-era communist puppet-masters.

Have a happy AND SAFE Fourth of July. Enjoy your holiday. It may be the only bright spot in a future of misery.

We are so screwed.
