Once again, progressive communist democrats have blamed conspiracy theorists for helping to defeat the type of legislation that might be found in communist countries…

New York Assemblyman Nick Perry has withdrawn his A416 bill that would allow government officials and bureaucrats to detain and incarcerate you in a “detention facility” for unspecified communicable “public health” threats. Even worse, innocent individuals such as suspects, contacts, and almost anyone else could be detained and incarcerated without due process.

According to the official bill information, “Assembly Bill A416 relates to the removal of cases, contacts and carriers of communicable diseases who are potentially dangerous to the public health.”

Upon determining by clear and convincing evidence that the health of others is or may be endangered by a case, contact or carrier, or suspected case, contact or carrier of a contagious disease that, in the opinion of the governor, after consultation with the commissioner, may pose an imminent and significant threat to the public health resulting in severe morbidity or high mortality, the governor or his or her delegee, including, but not limited to the commissioner or the heads of local health departments, may order the removal and/or detention of such a person or of a group of such persons by issuing a single order, identifying such persons either by name or by a reasonably specific description of the individuals or group being detained. Such person or group of persons shall be detained in a medical facility or other appropriate facility or premises designated by the governor or his or her delegee and complying with subdivision five of this section.

The bill does not mention a specific disease. The bill does not require a credible determination of the threat. The bill does not provide for individual legal challenges before incarceration. The bill does not make sense if an infected person or carrier spent time in a public place like an arena or on public transit. The bill does not remedy the loss of income, loss of employment, loss of residency, or care for dependent children or relatives. The period of incarceration can be extended indefinitely.

Despite the obvious constitutional concerns, Perry blames “conspiracy theorists” for opposition to the bill and his need to withdraw it from legislative consideration…

Bottom line…

Using the rationale of public health, we are seeing our freedom morphing into conditional freedom which is determined by our adherence to government policies. It is no longer enough to live your life mindful of your own health, it is now becoming incumbent that you are responsible for your neighbor's or community's health.

Perry’s A416 reminds me of the legislation that was used to send American Citizens of Japanese descent to ‘camps’ for the duration of the war.” A shameful incident in American history that should never be repeated.

It also reminds us why the progressive communist democrats, media moguls, and technology tyrants are hell-bent on censoring or canceling any dissenting voice that raises opposition to their narrative and supporting propaganda.

We should be thankful for the U.S.  Constitution, unlike the poor suffering blokes in their Australian Covid detention center. 

This legislation should serve as a cautionary tale about far-reaching policies that could violate your inalienable rights and constitutional protections.

Remember how the FEMA facilities were said to be conspiracy theories of warped, fevered conservative minds? I wonder what they call those camps for detaining illegal aliens?
