In a classic demonstration of the Dunning–Kruger effect, a hypothetical cognitive bias positing that people with low ability at a task (political knowledge) overestimate their own ability, here is Barbra Streisand, a white multi-millionaire knee-jerk progressive communist democrat living in her own isolated bubble, to opine on the recall of the Democrat Disaster, California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Like most aging virtue-signaling celebrities looking to maintain relevance, Streisand is isolated from the consequences of her pronouncements by her celebrity as a performer and her wealth. Gas prices or the unduly harsh restrictions imposed by California on the “little people” mean nothing to Streisand.

In this case, while entitled to her opinion, Streisand knows little or nothing about California politics except what she hears in her elite circle of friends and the advisors who reassure her that she is wise, virtuous, and all-knowing.

The law’s intent…

The intent of Article 2, Sections 13-19 of the California Constitution is for Californians to recall corrupt and inept elected state officials.

Eroding health protection…

Funny Girl mentions “eroding public health protections,” ironic because Gavin Newsom supports sanctuary cities and little or no restrictions on sanctuary policies that see illegal aliens decimate our healthcare, educational, criminal, and social services. In the best Cloward-Piven strategy, overwhelming our resources to the point of collapse and the imposition of communist rationing. As for immediate public healthcare concerns, we are imposing draconian lockdowns and mask mandates on Californians while illegal aliens, many of them with positive COVID-19 tests, rush across our border and are widely dispersed into our communities throughout the state.

As for funding, Governor Newsom, without funding restrictions, has raised tens of millions from the unions and special interests having business before the State while the recall candidates have funding limits.

By way of comparison and truth-telling, the main committee defending Newsom raised more than $46 million through July 31 and had more than $26 million in cash, giving Newsom’s side a massive war chest in the final stretch.

The California Secretary of State’s office released summary campaign finance data for reports filed through July 31. As of August 9, summary data was available for 16 candidate campaign committees. The five candidates that raised the most money so far were all Republicans: John Cox ($6.9 million), Larry Elder ($4.5 million), Kevin Faulconer ($1.9 million), Kevin Kiley ($834k), and Caitlyn Jenner ($747k). The Democrat to raise the most money was Kevin Paffrath ($388k). The top five spenders were Cox ($6.4 million), Elder ($2.2 million), Faulconer ($1.0 million), Jenner ($910k), and Paffrath ($398k).

Newsom loves corrupt unions, hates independent workers…

On January 1, 2020, Newsom-signed California Assembly Bill 5 that killed independent contractors (gig workers) in California by mandating who is an independent contractor and who is an employee went into effect. The union crafted and funded legislation introduced by Assemblyperson Lorena Gonzalez-Fletcher (D-Teamster), targeted independent Uber, Lyft, and DoorDash drivers, as well as independent healthcare workers and craftspeople into being treated as employees and, in many cases, forced to join unions.

On November 3, 2020, California voters approved Proposition 22, an initiative backed by Uber, Lyft, and DoorDash that legally designates drivers for app-based ride-hailing and delivery apps as independent contractors. However, the unions, notably the progressive communist democrat SEIU (Service Employees International Union) took legal action to kill Proposition 22.

On August 20, 2020, Alameda County Superior Court Judge Frank Roesch wrote Proposition 22 is unconstitutional because “it limits the power of a future Legislature to define app-based drivers as workers subject to workers’ compensation law.” That makes the entire ballot measure unenforceable, Roesch said.

As long as independent contractors receive IRS-1099 income and pay their taxes, unions contribute nothing to their benefit.

I might argue that it is the corrupt unions that are playing a major part in the corruption of their hand-picked politicians, the rising costs of goods and services, the delays in deliveries and completion dates, substandard performance, and the near-bankruptcy of the State of California when it considers unfunded union pension and healthcare liabilities.

Education – political extortion on Newsom’s watch….

The Teacher's unions are keeping schools closed while teachers draw full salaries and continue their healthcare and pension benefits. They tell the politicians what they want, science be damned, as they shake down the taxpayers.

L.A. Teachers Union: Schools Can’t Reopen Unless Charter Schools Shut Down, Police Defunded

In what appears to be a labor union power play, the United Teachers Los Angeles union announced Friday that Los Angeles Unified District schools effectively cannot reopen unless certain conditions are met: privately operated publicly funded charter schools are shut down, police are defunded, Medicare-for-All government-run health care is passed, a statewide wealth tax is implemented, housing for homeless is fully funded, “financial Support for Undocumented Students and Families,” and they want a federal bailout because “the CARES and HEROES Acts provided funding for K-12, both fell far short of what would be needed to rescue districts and state and local governments.” The source cited for this claim is the National Education Association, the largest labor union and special interest group in the United States.

Ironically, many private schools and charter schools didn’t miss a beat when Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered schools across the state to close down due to coronavirus. Within one week, most were already up and running with online learning programs, while public schools took as long as 6 weeks to even start to prepare online learning. And private and charter schools have been preparing to reopen for in-class teaching once again.

The UTLA just published a research paper, “The Same Storm, but Different Boats: The Safe and Equitable Conditions for Starting LAUSD in 2020-21,” explaining their demands, most of which have little to do with educating students. UTLA wants local authorities to “keep school campuses closed when the semester begins on Aug. 18.” <Source>

Up to $31 BILLION missing on Newsom’s watch…

CA EDD admits paying as much as $31 billion in unemployment funds to criminals

As much as $31 billion in California unemployment funds have been paid out to scammers, California EDD admits. ABC7 News' 7 On Your Side has been tracking the numerous fraudulent claims that have been plaguing the EDD and on Monday afternoon, it confirmed that even more money than previously reported has been paid out to scammers. In an EDD conference call, Julie Su, secretary for the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency said, "Of the 114 billion dollars in unemployment paid by California since March, approximately 10% has been confirmed as fraudulent. An additional 17% of the paid claims have been identified as potentially fraudulent." <Source>

What’s the reward for losing billions?

Su was nominated by the corrupt and inept Biden Administration to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Department of Labor.  A hell of a reward for losing billions of dollars on her watch. And we should mention that Su opposes freelancers as one of the top architects of California’s Assembly Bill 5, which instituted an arbitrary and vague three-stage test to prove a worker is an independent contractor instead of an employee.

Bottom line…

California is majorly screwed unless things change. And that means Newsom must be recalled and replaced with Larry Elder.
