GENERAL MARK MILLEY MUST RESIGN OR BE COURT-MARTIALED

Joe Biden gets a pass as a vegetable that gets lost on the way to the Oval Office. General Mark Milley has no excuse for this military catastrophe – not the Afghan war, the withdrawal effort.

MILLEY

June 23, 2021 – General Mark A. Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, testifying alongside Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin at a House Armed Services Committee hearing on 2022 budget requests…

“First of all, on the issue of critical race theory, et cetera, I’ll obviously have to get much smarter on whatever the theory is, but I do think it’s important, actually, for those of us in uniform to be open-minded and be widely read. The United States Military Academy is a university, and it is important that we train and we understand. I want to understand white rage. I’m white and I want to understand it. So what is it that caused thousands of people to assault this building and try to overturn the constitution of the United States of America? What caused that? I want to find that out. I want to maintain an open mind here and I do want to analyze it. It’s important that we understand that, because our soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and guardians, they come from the American people. So it is important that the leaders now and in the future do understand it.” — Gen. Mark Milley

July 5, 2021 – Leaving Bagram Airfield in the dark of night…

The U.S. announced Friday that it had completely vacated its biggest airfield in the country in advance of a final withdrawal that the Pentagon says will be completed by the end of August.

The U.S. left Afghanistan’s Bagram Airfield after nearly 20 years by shutting off the electricity and slipping away in the night without notifying the base’s new Afghan commander, who discovered the Americans’ departure more than two hours after they left, Afghan military officials said. <Source>

Meanwhile, American authorities gave Americans and others bad advice, putting them BEHIND enemy lines during the rapid Taliban takeover of Kabul…

The U.S. Embassy in Kabul told Americans to “shelter in place” in a security warning on Sunday, noting that there were reports of gunfire on the city airport.

In a series of two alerts, the embassy initially said it had suspended consular services and warned Americans not to come to the embassy building or the airport. However, a revised alert sent less than 30 minutes later removed the warning not to come to the Embassy or airport. Both alerts said the airport may be the target of gunfire. <Source>

A State Department official says the American flag is no longer flying at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul amid evacuations from Afghanistan’s capital. The official tells The Associated Press that nearly all embassy personnel have been relocated to the city’s international airport.

The official says the flag itself is with embassy personnel, who are among thousands of Americans and others waiting for flights. The official was not authorized to discuss the details publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity

In a joint statement Sunday night, the State Department and the Pentagon say they are taking steps to secure the airport for safe departures by way of civilian and military flights.

The statement says the U.S. security presence will have expanded to nearly 6,000 troops over the next two days and will take over air traffic control.

Those leaving include American citizens who have been living in Afghanistan, locally employed staff of the U.S. mission in Kabul and their families, and other particularly vulnerable Afghan nationals.

Also part of the departure plan are thousands of Afghans eligible for U.S. special immigrant visas. Nearly 2,000 of those with special visas have arrived in the United States over the past two weeks.<Source>

Bottom line…

General Milley and Pentagon planners knew we were leaving and gave up a secure, defensible airbase. This is beyond incompetence; it is a dereliction of duty. They also knew that Afghani forces were trained to fight with American advisors, air cover, and the knowledge they could always call for help. They were not trained as an independent fighting force, only an adjunct to American forces.

Milley and others must resign or face courts-martial hearings.

We are so screwed.

AFGHANISTAN: WHAT OR WHO IS TO BLAME?

SURRENDER IN AFGHANISTAN – A STAIN ON AMERICA

astainonamerica

What went wrong?

The attack on September 11, 2001, was perpetrated by members of al-Qaeda, a Muslim extremist group based in Afghanistan and headed by Osama bin Laden. The Taliban, created, funded, and armed by Pakistan's ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence), refused repeated demands to destroy Afghan terrorist training facilities and surrender terrorist Osama bin Laden and his fellow terrorists.

In response to the Taliban's refusal, America attacked Afghanistan.  The initial mission was to deny terrorists Afghan training and staging bases, to kill or capture the terrorist leaders, and to leave with a reminder that America would be back if necessary. Success was defined.

Post attack, al-Qaeda was diminished, but bin Laden continued to elude capture – later found to be living in a military-controlled area in Pakistan. (With no consequences to Pakistan after discovery.)

Unfortunately, what happened next is an American travesty costing approximately 2,500 American lives, at least $1 trillion (including $89 billion budgeted for training the Afghan army), and 20 years of corruption on all sides – all driven by politicians who believed that America could instill democracy in a tribal nation, ruled by a religion incompatible with modern civilization and where force and brutality were common-- where individuals welcomed martyrdom to enter paradise.

Beyond the political pipedreams of George W. Bush’s neocon national security holdovers, the military-industrial complex went all in as they saw a continuing source of riches.

Complicit was the military’s junior leadership intent on punching their career tickets – a cadre of rotating pencil-pushers who stayed within the wire, pencil-whipped their PowerPoint presentations, and avoided the career dings that come with telling the truth to senior-level military leadership who were both risk- and media-adverse.

Complicit also were the politicians who so feared risk and the potential of adverse media that they helped create rules of engagement that favored our enemies over our soldiers lest some innocent civilian be killed and be featured in a front-page story on a bleeding-heart anti-America rag like the New York Times.

One might ask, how do you win a battle fighting your own rules of engagement when your enemies respect nothing but force and interpret any humanitarian gesture as a weakness to be exploited?

Bottom line…

The truth is that, while there was a geographical point on a map designated as Afghanistan, it was never a unified nation. It was a loose confederation of tribes, criminal gangs, and freebooters mostly living under 12th-century conditions.

In reality, the President of Afghanistan was never more than the jumped-up Mayor of Kabul. Afghanis recruited into a “national army” were not fighting for a unified nation; they mostly saw a source of jobs, arms, good food, good pay, and free handouts. An unmotivated “fighting force” that mostly cut and ran when challenged by the Taliban -- abandoning their American arms to the enemy. With America’s announced departure (on 9/11/21), and without American leadership air cover, there was nothing to fight for.

Once again, the elite, credentialed establishment sold America out with its stupidity, corruption, and arrogance. Garbage people who thought they were the smartest people in the room because ordinary people lacked the courage to stand up and say the Emperor was naked.

Biden is a disaster, giving away the well-guarded Bagram Air Base before evacuating all American citizens and those (including family members) who aided the United States and who will be tortured and executed if captured by the Taliban. Lying up to the end – don’t believe your lying eyes, only our narratives.

Look for a continuing money suck. Paying for hostages and humanitarian aid. Already the Chinese are ramping up their mining activities and the Iranians sending “advisors.” Rumor is that the Biden Administration promises to shower the Taliban with cash to avoid a Saigon-like public relations disaster.
