The government has officially announced that it is asking the media moguls and tech tyrants to censor or cripple free speech in America…

Hooray! First-hand evidence that the media moguls and tech tyrants are doing the work of the Biden Administration and the Democrat Party -- and thus, the First Amendment applies to the evildoers who control the media and social media platforms.  CAN YOU SAY CENSORSHIP AND PROPAGANDA!

Press Briefing by Press Secretary Jen Psaki and Surgeon General Dr. Vivek H. Murthy, July 15, 2021

James S. Brady Press Briefing Room

SURGEON GENERAL MURTHY: It’s nice to see you all today. And thank you, Jen, for

Today, I issued a Surgeon General’s Advisory on the dangers of health misinformation. Surgeon General Advisories are reserved for urgent public health threats.

And while those threats have often been related to what we eat, drink, and smoke, today we live in a world where misinformation poses an imminent and insidious threat to our nation’s health.

Health misinformation is false, inaccurate, or misleading information about health, according to the best evidence at the time. And while it often appears innocuous on social media apps and retail sites or search engines, the truth is that misinformation takes away our freedom to make informed decisions about our health and the health of our loved ones.

[OCS: No, the suppression of free and open discussions represses the natural scientific competition for the truth. Witness that the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the chief medical advisor to the president, Dr. Anthony Fauci, admitted he lied to the American people about mask use to reserve stocks of personal protective equipment for health personnel. Likewise, he cannot produce scientific evidence of the effectiveness of masks.]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, health misinformation has led people to resist wearing masks in high-risk settings. It’s led them to turn down proven treatments and to choose not to get vaccinated. This has led to avoidable illnesses and death. Simply put, health [mis]information has cost us lives.

[OCS: Where is the proof?]

Now, health misinformation didn’t start with COVID-19. What’s different now though is the speed and scale at which health misinformation is spreading. Modern technology companies have enabled misinformation to poison our information environment with little accountability to their users.

They’ve allowed people who intentionally spread misinformation — what we call “disinformation” — to have extraordinary reach.

They’ve designed product features, such as “Like” buttons, that reward us for sharing emotionally-charged content, not accurate content. And their algorithms tend to give us more of what we click on, pulling us deeper and deeper into a well of misinformation.

Now, we need an all-of-society approach to fight misinformation.

[OCS: Here it is: official suppression of free speech.]

And that’s why this advisory that I issued today has recommendations for everyone.

First, we include recommendations for individuals and families. We ask people to raise the bar for sharing health information by checking sources before they share, to ensure that information is backed by credible, scientific sources. As we say in the advisory, “If you’re not sure, don’t share.”

[OCS: Stifling scientific curiosity and promoting self-censorship.]

Second, we’re asking health organizations to proactively address misinformation with their patients. Today, the American Academy of Pediatrics is announcing an educational campaign to help parents navigate online health information. I’m encouraged to see this commitment. And, again, this is just the beginning.

[OCS: You mean the progressive communist democrat American Academy of Pediatrics that makes every progressive agenda item a public health issue?]

Third, we’re asking educational institutions to help improve health information literacy.
We’re asking researchers and foundations as well to help us learn more about how health [mis]information spreads and how to stop it.

Today, the Rockefeller Foundation is announcing a $13.5 million commitment to counter health misinformation. The Digital Public Library of America is announcing that they will convene a set of librarians, scholars, journalists, and civic leaders to confront health misinformation together.

[OCS: The Rockefeller Foundation is at the forefront of progressive communist democrat causes.]

Fourth, we’re saying we expect more from our technology companies. We’re asking them to operate with greater transparency and accountability. We’re asking them to monitor misinformation more closely. We’re asking them to consistently take action against misinformation super-spreaders on their platforms.

[OCS: This is it! Corporate fascism and proof that the tech tyrants are acting on behalf of the United States government and should no longer be protected by Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (47 U.S. Code § 230). They are now subject to free speech rules and regulations.]

Fifth, we’re also asking news organizations to proactively address the public’s questions without inadvertently giving a platform to health misinformation that can harm their audiences.

[OCS: Implementing government censorship and prior restraint.

And sixth, we know that government can play an important role too by investing in research, by bringing individuals and organizations together to address misinformation, and by supporting groups that are working on this issue.

MS. PSAKI: Sure. Well, first, we are in regular touch with these social media platforms, and those engagements typically happen through members of our senior staff, but also members of our COVID-19 team, given, as Dr. Murthy conveyed, this is a big issue of misinformation, specifically on the pandemic.
In terms of actions, Alex, that we have taken — or we’re working to take, I should say — from the federal government: We’ve increased disinformation research and tracking within the Surgeon General’s office. We’re flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation. We’re working with doctors and medical professionals to connect — to connect medical experts with popular — with popular — who are popular with their audiences with — with accurate information and boost trusted content. So we’re helping get trusted content out there. <Source>

U.S. Surgeon General Issues Advisory During COVID-19 Vaccination Push Warning American Public About Threat of Health Misinformation

"As Surgeon General, my job is to help people stay safe and healthy, and without limiting the spread of health misinformation, American lives are at risk. From the tech and social media companies who must do more to address the spread on their platforms, to all of us identifying and avoiding sharing misinformation, tackling this challenge will require an all-of-society approach, but it is critical for the long-term health of our nation."

This advisory lays out how the nation can confront health misinformation by helping individuals, families, and communities better identify and limit its spread, and issues a number of ways institutions in education, media, medicine, research, and government stakeholders can approach this issue. It also underscores the urgent need for technology and social media companies to address the way misinformation and disinformation spread on their platforms, threatening people's health. <Source>

Implement product design and policy changes on technology platforms to slow
the spread of misinformation

Invest in longer-term efforts to build resilience against health misinformation,
such as media, science, digital, data, and health literacy

What Technology Platforms Can Do

Assess the benefits and harms of products and platforms and take responsibility for addressing the harms. In particular, make meaningful long-term investments to address
misinformation, including product changes.

Redesign recommendation algorithms to avoid amplifying misinformation, build in “frictions”— such as suggestions and warnings—to reduce the sharing of misinformation, and make it easier for users to report misinformation.

Give researchers access to useful data to properly analyze the spread and impact of misinformation. Researchers need data on what people see and hear, not just what they engage with, and what content is moderated (e.g., labeled, removed, downranked), including data on automated accounts that spread misinformation. To protect user privacy, data can be anonymized and provided with user consent.

Strengthen the monitoring of misinformation. Platforms should increase staffing of multilingual content moderation teams and improve the effectiveness of machine learning algorithms in languages other than English since non- English-language misinformation continues to proliferate.

Platforms should also address misinformation in live streams, which are more difficult to moderate due to their temporary nature and use of audio and video.

Prioritize early detection of misinformation "super-spreaders" and repeat offenders. Impose clear consequences for accounts that repeatedly violate platform policies.

Evaluate the effectiveness of internal policies and practices in addressing misinformation and be transparent with findings. Publish standardized measures of how often users are
exposed to misinformation and through what channels, what kinds of misinformation are most prevalent, and what share of misinformation is addressed in a timely manner.

Communicate why certain content is flagged, removed, downranked, or left alone. Work to understand potential unintended consequences of content moderation, such as migration of users to less-moderated platforms.

[OCS: Free speech platforms – the original intent of the internet!]

Proactively address information deficits. An information deficit occurs when there is high public interest in a topic but limited quality information available. Provide information from trusted and credible sources to prevent misconceptions from taking hold.

[OCS: Remember, these are the ass-hats who think the New York Times, NBC, and MSNBC are trusted and credible sources.]

Amplify communications from trusted messengers and subject matter experts. For example, work with health and medical professionals to reach target audiences. Direct users to a broader range of credible sources, including community organizations. It can be particularly helpful to connect people to local trusted leaders who provide accurate information.

[OCS: The Fauci Clause. And, where are those “trusted local leaders?” Do you mean like the progressive communist democrat governors who head the blue states?

Prioritize protecting health professionals, journalists, and others from online harassment, including harassment resulting from people believing in misinformation.

[OCS: Protect the liars, useful idiots, and communist stooges at all costs.]

Bottom line…

Since they are acting at the government's behest, the tech tyrants and media moguls should lose their Section 230 protections against defamation lawsuits for what people post on their platforms.

Remember Rahm Emanuel, “Never let a crisis go to waste.”

How many times did candidates Biden and Harris reject the vaccine during the Trump Administration? How many media sources rejected the release of the virus from the Wuhan Lab?  How about the Russia collusion hoax and the Steele dossier? What gives the government a monopoly on truth? Ask Galileo.

We are so screwed.

As much as we respected our teachers, especially since growing up in better times, it has come time to reassess the curricula and teacher's communist unions, recognizing that activist teachers are turning out functional illiterates who are being taught to hate their fellow students based on the color of their skin.

In the topsy-turvy world of the progressive communist democrats, embracing and teaching communism and racism under the guise of critical race theory seems to be more important than teaching reading, writing, arithmetic, history, and good citizenship. Likewise, the sexualization of young children who know more about condoms and gay sex practices than they do about the Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

How bad is it?

Consider that Black Lives Matter, touted by the Biden Administration and the two most powerful teachers' unions, issued this statement on the political protests occurring in Cuba, a communist dictatorship and an increasingly failing state held together by armed, brutal secret police willing to snatch young girls off the street for imprisonment and torture.

Students are being taught that the Cuban revolution is a struggle for equality and dignity and little about the evils of communism. Students are being taught that Black Lives Matter is all about civil rights. Schools are pressured into supporting Black Lives Matter. And corporations are coerced into donating millions to a racist, communist, un-American, anti-White, and anti-Semitic group of thugs. Likewise, the progressive communist democrat propagandists in the mainstream media continue the charade.

Consider the framing of current events, the precursors to history that will be taught to future students...

Black Lives Matter condemns the U.S. federal government’s inhumane treatment of Cubans, and urges it to immediately lift the economic embargo.

[OCS: Excuse me! Instead of blaming a brutal communist dictatorship, filled with incompetents and kleptocrats, for their repression of their own citizens, the racist communist thugs at Black Lives Matter blames the United States for the communist state’s present troubles.]

This cruel and inhumane policy, instituted with the explicit intention of destabilizing the country and undermining Cubans’ right to choose their own government, is at the heart of Cuba’s current crisis. Since 1962, the United States has forced pain and suffering on the people of Cuba by cutting off food, medicine and supplies, costing the tiny island nation an estimated $130 billion.”

[OCS: I was unaware of any moral or legal right that demands that freedom-loving citizens of the United States must support, subsidize, and trade with an openly hostile nation that routinely imprisons, tortures, and kills dissidents who protest against the communist leadership of their country.

As for the right to choose their own government, if my history is correct, the Cubans have not had a free and open election since the communist revolution.

The United States trade embargo does not extend to medical supplies and humanitarian aid. Cuba is free to trade with other nations, and it is not our concern that these other nations demand payment for supplying goods and services. Unfortunately for communist Cuba, their two largest communist sponsors, Russia and Venezuela, are failing their own people and can no longer sustain charitable contributions to Cuba.]

Without that money, it is harder for Cuba to acquire medical equipment needed to develop its own COVID-19 vaccines and equipment for food production. This comes in spite of the country’s strong medical care and history of lending doctors and nurses to disasters around the world,“ apparently acknowledging that Cuba’s “WORLD CLASS” socialist healthcare fails without American intervention.

[OCS: How many times have we been told about Cuba’s “world-class” medical system and care for all citizens by Michael Moore and the Hollywood elites who are grossly misled by a staged Potemkin village-like medical facility. The truth is far different.

Again, there is no right that demands the United States trade with Cuba any more than trading with communist North Korea or Iran. That a communist state is not self-sustaining under the communist system is not an American problem or an artifact of capitalism.]

The people of Cuba are being punished by the U.S. government because the country has maintained its commitment to sovereignty and self-determination,” they continued. “United States leaders have tried to crush this Revolution for decades. Instead of international amity, respect, and goodwill, the U.S. government has only instigated suffering for the country’s 11 million people – of which 4 million are black and brown.”

[OCS: The people of Cuba are being punished and brutalized by their own government, whose self-determination seems to be governed at gunpoint.

Don't they mean 11 million color-blind comrades?]

Cuba has historically demonstrated solidarity with oppressed peoples of African descent, from protecting black revolutionaries like Assata Shakur,” the group said of one of the FBI’s most wanted terrorists, “through granting her asylum, to supporting black liberation struggles in Angola, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau and South Africa.

[OCS: “Assata Olugbala Shakur (born JoAnne Deborah Byron; July 16, 1947; married name, JoAnne Chesimard) is an American domestic terrorist and former member of the Black Liberation Army (BLA), who was convicted in the first-degree murder of State Trooper Werner Foerster during a shootout on the New Jersey Turnpike in 1973.” The convicted murderer escaped custody and fled to Cuba where the Cuban government refuses to extradite her. There is no doubt that Cuba encourages and supports state terrorism in Central and South America.]

Now, we look to President Biden to end the embargo, something Barack Obama called for in 2016. This embargo is a blatant human rights violation and it must come to an end.”

[OCS: There is no doubt in my mind that Obama, the first communist-in-chief, wanted to support the dictatorship in Cuba.

The real human rights violation is the brutal repression of the Cuban people by its communist overlords. Not to mention what the progressive communist democrat thugs are doing to America.

Consider what is being taught to our students when communist current events are reframed as a legitimate civil rights struggle.]

Explain how teaching communism, racism, and perversion helps children thrive later in life?

When the power goes out and the batteries die, what then?

Today’s children cannot seem to function without their electronic devices, their digital watch, smartphone, internet search, and writing features such as cut-and-paste, spellcheck, and grammar checkers. Most of academia is now based on collecting the quotes of others, adding a summary, and calling it scholarship. Teachers and professors are dumbing down children to produce another decade of function illiterates that become social justice warriors to support communism. Unions refusing to test teachers for teaching competency and subject matter knowledge. Lowering testing criteria to further hide how drastically teachers are failing our students while demanding more and more money.

The basic purpose of education is to socialize children, develop their latent abilities, and prepare them to function in life and compete in the job market.

Consider what Jason Riley, writing in the Wall Street Journal, has noted…

A majority of American fourth- and eighth-graders can’t read or do math at grade level, according to the Education Department. And that assessment is from 2019, before the learning losses from pandemic school closures.

Whenever someone asks me about critical race theory, that statistic comes to mind. What’s the priority, teaching math and reading, or turning elementary schools into social-justice boot camps?

Given that black and Hispanic students are more likely to be lagging academically, it’s a question that anyone professing to care deeply about social inequality might consider. Learning gaps manifest themselves in all kinds of ways later in life, from unemployment rates and income levels to the likelihood of teenage pregnancy, substance abuse and involvement with the criminal-justice system. Our jails and prisons already have too many woke illiterates.” <Source>

How can teachers explain this?

We have previously discussed the continued failing of the public schools in preparing African American students for college or the workforce. I have specifically discussed the horrific figures coming out of Baltimore despite being one of the top districts in terms of per capita spending. Recent data now offers another chilling statistic: 41 percent of students in the Baltimore system have a 1.0 (D) GPA or less.

Project Baltimore obtained a chart assembled by Baltimore City Schools. Keep in mind that this is almost half of the 20,500 public high school students in Baltimore.

What astonishes me is the lack of criticism of the school and political leadership of these major cities who have failed the African American community for decades. It is hard to imagine how the school system could possibly do worse while receiving some of the highest levels of federal and state expenditures per student.

This is not due to a lack of funding or support. It is a catastrophic failure that is not being addressed in the media despite occurring annually in cities like New York, Baltimore, Chicago, and other media hubs. <Source>

We are allowing the progressive communist democrats and their communist unions to control education. How is it that Black Lives Matter does not march for all of the Black Lives lost in the inner cities? Or the number of Black Lives destroyed by sub-standard education?

Bottom line…

Meanwhile, the mainstream media and the American people can waffle on and on about freedom and liberty, but when the chips are down, they fold like a cheap suit. When will the Biden Administration and the Democrat Party condemn communism and the communist front group known as Black Lives Matter?  And when will "We the People" demand an end to communist public employees' unions and the promotion of communism as a valid economic ideology?

We so are so screwed
