CAN YOU TRUST ANYTHING FAUCI SAYS?
Who in the hell is Anthony Fauci?
Yes, I know that Dr. Anthony Fauci is the long-time director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the chief medical advisor to the president of the United States.
Yes, I know that Dr. Anthony Fauci is cited in the media as a physician-scientist and immunologist.
And yes, I know that Dr. Anthony Fauci is also portrayed as a major HIV/AIDS researcher.
But I repeat, who in the hell is Anthony Fauci?
After more than a year of observing Dr. Fauci and reading his pronouncements, I have concluded that he is little more than a media-obsessed self-promoter and credentialed shill – a professional liar/spokesperson much like the White House press secretary Jen Psaki, the often ignorant and generally untrustworthy face of the Biden Administration.
Unlike the kind, compassionate white-haired physician of old, Dr. Fauci appears to be a partisan schemer and a medical hack who spouts little more than the cherry-picked fashionable news of the day.
To say that I do not trust a scientist who interjects the administration’s talking points about critical race theory into a medical context is to understate my contempt for Fauci – proven to be little more than a weathervane weasel responding to the direction of the political winds.
In a virtual commencement address to the graduates of Emory University, Fauci unnecessarily injected race into his speech.
“Now, very few of these comorbidities have racial determinants. Almost all relate to the social determinants of health dating back to disadvantageous conditions that some people of color find themselves in from birth regarding the availability of an adequate diet, access to health care and the undeniable effects of racism in our society. Let us promise ourselves our memory of this tragic reality — that an infectious disease disparately hospitalizes and kills people of color — does not fade after we return to some form of normality. Righting this wrong will take a decades-long commitment. I urge you to be part of that commitment.”
Fauci, the master of ambiguity, backtracking, and outright flip-flops softens his position on the origins of Covid-19…
See Dr. Fauci, hear Dr. Fauci, in his own words, soften his stand on the origins of the Communist Chinese Virus and suggest that there is nothing unusual about collaborative research to minimize the fact that the Wuhan lab was known to engage in Communist Chinese military biowarfare research.
United Facts of America Day 2: Join PolitiFact in conversation with Dr. Anthony Fauci after a year of dangerous misinformation and a public health crisis.
[OCS: It appears the progressive communist democrats define misinformation as anything not comporting with their narrative and advancing their agenda.]
PolitiFact interviewed Dr. Anthony Fauci, longtime chief of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, for the first time May 11 as part of United Facts of America: A Festival of Fact-Checking. Managing editor Katie Sanders asked Fauci about the origins of the coronavirus, COVID-19 vaccines for children, and what he makes of the infodemic that plagued American dialogue about the virus and vaccines.
[OCS: an Orwellian newspeak word, "infodemic."]
PolitiFact: That has been the subject of a lot of our fact checking on the coronavirus for the past year. And like you said, there's a lot of cloudiness around the origins of COVID-19 still. So I wanted to ask, are you still confident that it developed naturally?
Fauci: No, actually, that's the point that I said. And I think the real unfortunate aspect of what Sen. Paul did is he was conflating research in a collaborative way with Chinese scientists, which was, you know, you'd almost have to say, if we did not do that we would almost be irresponsible because SARS-CoV-1 clearly originated in China, and we were fortunate to escape a major pandemic. So we really had to learn a lot more about the viruses that were there, about whether or not people were getting infected with bad viruses. So in a very minor collaboration as part of a subcontract of a grant, we had a collaboration with some Chinese scientists. And what he conflated is that therefore we were involved in creating the virus which is the most ridiculous majestic leap I've ever heard of. But no, I'm not convinced about that. I think that we should continue to investigate what went on in China until we find out to the best of our ability exactly what happened. Certainly the people who've investigated say it likely was the emergence from an animal reservoir that then infected individuals, but it could have been something else. And we need to find that out. So, you know, that's the reason why I said I'm perfectly in favor of any investigation that looks into the origin of the virus.
Most disturbing…
How many people remember Fauci claiming there was “no scientific evidence the coronavirus was made in a Chinese lab?”
- This in the face of the Chinese Communist Party’s denial of laboratory access to China’s Wuhan laboratory, where research on coronaviruses was known to take place and whose biosafety level 4 laboratory procedures were questionable.
- This in the face of lies regarding the virus being told by Chinese Communist Party officials, accepted and repeated by the propagandists at the World Health Organization.
- This in the face of Fauci’s knowledge of U.S. funding for the work of the Wuhan Lab – including “gain of function” studies which made viruses more likely to infect humans.
- This in the face of the mistreatment or disappearance of Chinese medical doctors and researchers who tried to sound the alarm.
From a National Geographic interview headlined, Fauci: No scientific evidence the coronavirus was made in a Chinese lab.
Q. One topic in the news lately has been the origins of SAR-CoV-2. Do you believe or is there evidence that the virus was made in the lab in China or accidentally released from a lab in China?
A. “If you look at the evolution of the virus in bats, and what's out there now is very, very strongly leaning toward this [virus] could not have been artificially or deliberately manipulated—the way the mutations have naturally evolved. A number of very qualified evolutionary biologists have said that everything about the stepwise evolution over time strongly indicates that it evolved in nature and then jumped species.”
Q. Sure, but what if scientists found the virus outside the lab, brought it back, and then it escaped?
A. “But that means it was in the wild to begin with. That's why I don't get what they're talking about [and] why I don't spend a lot of time going in on this circular argument.”
From a House Intelligence Committee 21-page report titled, IN FOCUS: COVID-19 and the Wuhan Institute of Virology (19 May 2021)
Nevertheless, significant circumstantial evidence raises serious concerns that the COVID-19 outbreak may have been a leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. This evidence includes:
• China’s history of research lab leaks resulting in infections.
• Warnings from U.S. diplomats in China as early as 2017 that the Wuhan lab was conducting dangerous research on coronaviruses without following necessary safety protocols, risking the accidental outbreak of a pandemic.
• Gain of Function research being conducted at the Wuhan lab that made coronaviruses more infectious in humans.
• Several researchers at Wuhan lab were sickened with COVID-19-like symptoms in fall 2019.
• The involvement in the Wuhan lab of the Chinese military, which has a documented biological weapons program.
• Multiple indications of attempts by Beijing to cover up the true circumstances of the COVID-19 outbreak.By contrast, little circumstantial evidence has emerged to support the PRC’s claim that COVID-19 was a natural occurrence, having jumped from some other species to humans. For example, Chinese authorities have failed to identify the original species that allegedly spread the virus to humans, which is critical to their zoonotic transfer theory.
There are also clear signs that U.S. Government agencies and academic institutions may have funded or collaborated in Gain of Function research at the Wuhan lab. At least some of this research was published even after the U.S. Government had paused these kinds of studies in the United States due to ethical concerns over their biowarfare applicability and their potential to accidentally unleash a pandemic.
Under the leadership of Dr. Anthony Fauci, between Fiscal Years 2014 and 2019, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) awarded more than $3.7 million in grants to EcoHealth Alliance to examine the “risk of future coronavirus (CoV) emergence[s]…in China.” EcoHealth Alliance has also reportedly received funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The President of EcoHealth Alliance, Dr. Peter Daszak, has been an outspoken opponent of the lab leak hypothesis since the outbreak of the pandemic. Dr. Daszak was the only American scientist to participate in the WHO’s 28-day investigation into the origins of COVID-19.
Not the first time…
Touted as one of the government’s premier HIV/AIDS experts, how many people remember Fauci waring of a major AIDS outbreak among the general population when all of the scientific research demonstrated that the disease was mostly limited to the gay community and IV-drug users and the method of transmission was primarily through an exchange of bodily fluids?
In May 1983, amid the rapidly escalating AIDS crisis, a doctor at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) promoted a stunning theory about the newly encountered disease in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). Noting that the same issue of the journal contained an article documenting one of the first cases of the immunodeficiency disease’s appearance in an infant, the author sounded an alarm about “the possibility that routine close contact, as within a family household, can spread the disease.”
The article took an increasingly speculative turn in promoting this new theory. “If indeed the latter is true, then AIDS takes on an entirely new dimension,” it continued. “If we add to this possibility that nonsexual, non-blood-borne transmission is possible, the scope of the syndrome may be enormous.” Although the article reiterated the need to “be cautious” in accepting these findings as they awaited more evidence, the discovery “should at least alert us to the possibility that we are truly dealing with AIDS in children,” as transmitted through routine interaction. <Source>
What to believe?
Fully Vaccinated Americans May Not ‘Necessarily’ Need COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Shots
Fully vaccinated Americans may not need to get a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot, Dr. Anthony Fauci said on Friday in an interview on CBS’ “This Morning.”
Fauci, who is head of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), said that there was “some misunderstanding” about whether fully vaccinated people would need a booster shot six months after getting injected.
“We are planning for the eventuality that we might need to boost people, we don’t know whether we will have to do it and when we will have to do it,” Fauci said.
“There’s estimates well it may be here, it may be a little bit longer. The fact is we don’t know, but it would really be foolish not to plan for the possibility that we might have to boost people, but there’s no set rule now that says in six months or in a year we’re going to get, we’re going to require a boost,” he added.
However, when asked two days earlier how soon fully vaccinated people would need a COVID-19 booster shot, Fauci told Axios Co-founder Mike Allen that Americans would need it.
“Well, we don’t know exactly when that will be Mike, but I believe it likely would be within a year,” said Fauci. “We know that the vaccine durability of the efficacy lasts at least six months and likely considerably more, but I think we will almost certainly require a booster sometime within a year or so after getting the primary [injection].”
The prudent answer is: “I don’t know, and we will have to wait and see.”
I am not the only one who has lost confidence in Dr. Fauci…
Here is a survey from The Trafalgar Group, which found 42% of all voters say their confidence in Dr. Fauci has decreased while 22% say it increased. That includes nearly 42% of independents who having waning faith in the doctor versus 20% who say it increased.
Bottom line…
It goes beyond mask/no mask/double mask/mask and goggles; the main question is: can you trust what Dr. Fauci says, or is he just interpreting the cherry-picked administration-friendly fashionable science of the day? I believe Fauci should be retired at once and a more honest information broker appointed as a spokesperson.
We are so screwed.
