REPUBLICANS LURCHING LEFT -- ACTING LIKE PROGRESSIVE SOCIALIST DEMOCRATS

With all of our attention being focused on the Trump/Russia hoax, the impeachment, the Coronavirus, and the matchup between communism and capitalism, we find the Senate Republicans trying to sneak through a program worthy of the progressive socialist democrats…

rep-dem-deal

We see John McCain’s protégé Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) leading the party left as he lobbies the President to increase immigration and progressive Senator Lisa Murkowski's (R-AK) support for an outrageous spending bill such as 555-page S.2657, known as the American Energy Innovation Act (AEIA), a compilation of 50 energy bills filled with leftist special interest pork.

If this bill passes, it appears that the Senate Republicans are turning their back on a market economy and going back to former President Obama's green energy failure of picking winners and losers such as the bankrupt Solyndra.

Bait and switch?

The original introduced S. 2657, known as the “Advanced Geothermal Innovation Leadership Act of 2019” – with its cutsie “AGILE” backronym – has been gutted with strikeout text and will serve as “the legislative vehicle for the bipartisan energy innovation package.” According to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, “when a vote on the motion to proceed to S. 2657 is successful, Murkowski and Manchin will offer a substitute amendment featuring the full text of the AEIA.”

orig

According to the Senate Energy Committee…

“The key provisions in the AEIA focus on energy efficiency; renewable energy; energy storage; carbon capture, utilization, and storage; advanced nuclear; industrial and vehicle technologies; the Department of Energy; mineral security, cyber and grid security and modernization; and workforce development.

The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee held legislative hearings and business meetings throughout 2019 and, following regular order, reported more than 50 energy-related bills to the full Senate on an individual basis. Most of those measures have now been compiled in the AEIA.” <Source>

For those wishing to view the progressive damage themselves, the full bill text can be found here, the high-level executive summary can be found here, and the section-by-section format can be found here.

Dirty dealing?

Not so ironically, the last portion of the bill, Section 3040, is titled “Repeal of Prior Limitations on Compensation of the Secretary of the Interior.” For those who have little or no knowledge of Trump’s Cabinet, the Secretary of the Interior is David Bernhardt, described as an attorney, energy industry lobbyist, and a government administrator.

Bottom line…

Every day, with every bill, we find the GOP moving left. Putting themselves and the party before our Constitution, our nation, and our citizens.  Let us not concentrate only on the progressive socialist democrats, but keep the pressure on our GOP legislators to do the right thing.

We are so screwed.

ANOTHER FED LIE: LESS IS MORE?

dollar

It’s not just the coronavirus that is impacting our economy.

Trompism

Not letting a crisis go to waste…

Anyone who has spent a significant amount of time observing the markets can clearly see that many companies are unrealistically valued and are “frothy.” And, that some massive hedge funds, previously predicting a more stable economy, are using the artificial volatility whipped up by campaigning politicians and an anti-Trump media to de-leverage their positions knowing that the crisis creates a narrative which excuses temporary losses. It also mitigates questions of why these large investors did not profit from the “dip”  and rebound in a significant way.

It is true that the real impact of the coronavirus is that people may “shelter in place” restricting interactions with public places like stores which reduces sales revenues.

It is also likely that some companies will be capitalizing on a dip in revenue by reducing headcount to maintain margins and profits.

The Fed cuts interest rates…

Many individuals are concentrating on the Federal Reserve cutting interest rates to seemingly compensate for the possibility of an economic downturn. Many individuals and corporations may use the reduction in rates to refinance existing obligations and thus improve their financial position, which could offset some of the longer-term effects of the coronavirus outbreak.

But, behind the scenes, once again, we find the Federal Reserve telling us something that challenges commonsense…

First, let us not forget that the Federal Reserve is not an agency of the United States Government, but a private corporation that is allegedly owned by its member banks and operated for their benefit. I say allegedly because nobody has ever seen a list of the Fed’s actual owners and their percentage of ownership. However, the Fed does have a government charter to act on behalf of the government when it comes to fiscal matters, namely controlling inflation and economic growth, which it does with monetary policy and rules and regulations affecting financial institutions.

Second, let us not forget that it was the Federal Reserve that disguised the technical insolvency of several large financial “too big to fail” institutions during the mortgage meltdown and broader 2008 financial crisis known as The Great Recession. They knowingly accepted dodgy paper as security for “good money” loans and lowered the interest rates so that financial institutions were guaranteed to make a profit when funds cost virtually zero and could be lent to individuals and corporations at normal interest rates.

And third, let us not forget that the Fed’s policies are based on assumptions and projections, some of which have been grossly wrong or deficient in the past.

So I am somewhat concerned when I find that the Federal Reserve is telling the American public …

Federal Reserve Board approves rule to simplify its capital rules for large banks, preserving the strong capital requirements already in place

The Federal Reserve Board on Wednesday approved a rule to simplify its capital rules for large banks, preserving the strong capital requirements already in place.

The "stress capital buffer," or SCB, integrates the Board's stress test results with its non-stress capital requirements. As a result, required capital levels for each firm would more closely match its risk profile and likely losses as measured via the Board's stress tests. The rule is broadly similar to the proposal from April 2018, with a few changes in response to comments.

"The stress capital buffer materially simplifies the post-crisis capital framework for banks, while maintaining the strong capital requirements that are the hallmark of the framework," Vice Chair for Supervision Randal K. Quarles said.

The SCB uses the results from the Board's supervisory stress tests, which are one component of the annual Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR), to help determine each firm's capital requirements for the coming year. By combining the Board's stress tests—which project the capital needs of each firm under adverse economic conditions—with the Board's non-stress capital requirements, large banks will now be subject to a single, forward-looking, and risk-sensitive capital framework. The simplification would result in banks needing to meet eight capital requirements, instead of the current 13.

The SCB framework preserves the strong capital requirements established after the financial crisis. In particular, the changes would increase capital requirements for the largest and most complex banks and decrease requirements for less complex banks. Based on stress test data from 2013 to 2019, common equity tier 1 capital requirements would increase by $11 billion in aggregate, a 1 percent increase from current capital requirements. A firm's SCB will vary in size throughout the economic cycle depending on several factors, including the firm's risks.

To reduce the incentive for firms to take on risk and further simplify the framework, the final rule does not include a stress leverage buffer as proposed. All banks would continue to be subject to ongoing, non-stress leverage requirements.

Large banks have substantially increased their capital since the first round of stress tests in 2009. The common equity capital ratio of the banks in the 2019 CCAR has more than doubled from 4.9 percent in the first quarter of 2009 to 12.2 percent in the fourth quarter of 2019, with total capital doubling to more than $1 trillion.

Also on Wednesday, the Board released the instructions for the 2020 CCAR cycle. The instructions confirm that 34 banks will participate in this year's test. CCAR consists of both the stress tests that assess firms' capital needs under stress and, for the largest and most complex banks, a qualitative evaluation of the practices these firms use to determine their capital needs in normal times and under stress. Results will be released by June 30.

Statement by Governor Brainard

As an early proponent of the stress capital buffer (SCB), I support integrating the non-stress capital rules and the stress-test based capital requirements into a single framework that preserves capital neutrality. Unfortunately, today's rule gives a green light for large banks to reduce their capital buffers materially, at a time when payouts have already exceeded earnings for several years on average.

The SCB rule will reduce current required tier 1 capital by roughly $100 billion or 7 percent for large banks overall. The SCB rule will reduce current required common equity tier 1 (CET1) capital by $60 billion or 5 percent, and the rule could be expected to reduce current actual CET1 capital by $120 billion or 10 percent overall.

The declines in required tier 1 and CET1 capital reflect the rule's substantial reduction in the requirement to prefund distributions and, to a lesser extent, the elimination of any stress leverage requirement (for tier 1) and the assumption of a flat balance sheet.

The additional declines in actual levels of CET1 capital reflect the reduction in tier 1 requirements in conjunction with announced changes to management buffers. Large banks satisfy nearly 90 percent of their tier 1 requirements with CET1, some of which serves as a management buffer against uncertainty in firm performance and capital requirements.

Because the SCB rule changes how stress tests factor into capital requirements and significantly reduces tier 1 requirements, many large banks have announced to shareholders lower target CET1 ratios that imply declines in management buffers from nearly 2½ percent of risk-weighted assets to just above 1 percent.

Banks worked hard to build their capital buffers following the crisis. It is imprudent to reduce the loss absorbing capital at the core of the system at this point in the cycle, when large banks are internationally competitive, and payouts have been exceeding earnings

Much of the capital reduction appears to be linked to the policy provision that requires financial institutions to maintain a reserve for four quarters of dividend payments instead of the current nine quarters. As with everything Fed, there are disagreements, which begs the question of why now, in the face of a potentially global impact on the financial system from the virus known as COVID-19, reduce reserve requirements?

Bottom line…

The thing to watch is how the FED reformulates the stress test and how the major financial institutions must respond to the results. It is assumed that lenders would curtail balance sheet growth in difficult times and reduce buybacks, capital distributions, and executive bonuses. Yeah Right!

While the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act was to ensure that the taxpayer would not be required to bail out systemically important financial institutions and that each institution must maintain a wind-down plan, what they seem to forget is the “bail-in” provision where the financial institutions simply use depositor’s money to cure their problems – thus giving everyone an involuntary haircut.

Do not, for one moment, believe that the Fed is being run by technocrats governed by the numbers instead of politics.

We are so screwed.

AFTER SUPER TUESDAY: A COUNTRY IN CRISIS

The obvious conclusion from super-Tuesday is that we are a country in crisis. Forced to face the fact that the democrat party, government, educational institutions, and the mainstream mass media have been infiltrated by un-American enemies. We are witnessing the evolution of evil.

Not since the death and demonization of Senator Joseph McCarthy have we clearly seen this level of communist infiltration in the United States. In fact, there is little or no doubt in my mind that the Democrats have become the Communist Party of the United States and the GOP was content to share power and access to the U.S. Treasury because they were afraid to fight the metastasizing cancer within our nation. They were more protective of their position, prestige, perks, and profits of their office than they were with our nation, its glorious Constitution, and the American people.

Instead of calling out the leftists and loons in the opposition, the GOP was content to allow them to broadcast their corruption and craziness in the name of free speech and “fair and balanced” news. I have nothing against free speech but it is incumbent upon those who see evil to confront it: pointing out that it is evil and those that follow evil only beget more evil.

As I wrote yesterday, the Democrat Party, the party of slavery, segregation, anti-Semitism, and un-Americanism finds itself in a pickle – caught in the middle between second and third base and unsure of which way to run…

With the suspension of the campaigns of Buttigieg, Klobuchar, and now Bloomberg – all endorsing Senator Joseph Biden – and the near-collapse of the Warren campaign which is likely to endorse Bernie Sanders, the Democrat race has tightened to the point that the Democrat Party is giving their constituency a choice between a Marxist/Communist and a mentally impaired candidate who has trouble remembering simple facts and who has been known to have been stricken by a previous brain aneurysm.

pickle-2

College: the incubator of communism…

If you haven’t noticed, most universities are surrounded by an invisible physical bubble, where a student’s life is wrapped up in their immediate surroundings. Where they are surrounded by people who think much the same thing, feel much the same thing, and who often trade political participation and indoctrination for social experiences. These are the students divorced from the real world outside of the bubble and concentrate on the issues presented to them in their classrooms and elsewhere on campus. The Twitter generation that does not vote as much as they tweet.

We must begin to reform education on all levels. But this is not a fight best fought at the national level. It should be fought at the community level and those who use the local school board as a political stepping stone should be shunned. Enough with catering to students who strike fear into the minds of administrators and professors with their marches. Let them march, let them yell, and expel their sorry asses when they go over the line.

But this requires strong individuals with a commitment to their country, their constitution, and their belief in American exceptionalism. And voting in local elections as well as the presidential race.

Bottom line…

You might ask yourself how it is possible for the Democrat party to put forth and endorse such horribly compromised and corrupt candidates? How is it that the mainstream media refuses to investigate obvious shortcomings in Democrat candidates as they put GOP candidates under the microscope? And, why do Americans stand for this nonsense – willing to be divided and pitted against each other? Perhaps the answer lies in our educational institutions and teachers’ unions that are controlled by radical progressives. Those who set the curriculum, teach revisionist history, and gradually dumb-down children into activists who are overly dependent on the government.

In my junior high, I was taught history and civics along with reading, writing, and arithmetic. There were shop classes to teach me how to create, to build things I wanted, and to repair things – all after safety instruction on using those “deadly” power tools. A different time – not really – just a change in educational standards and classroom discipline.

For the 2020 election cycle, the only choice is President Donald Trump, a man who has done more for America while being investigated and demonized 24/7 by a corrupt mainstream media. 2024 is another story. Can the two political parties produce candidates who are not ideologically opposed to America or thoroughly corrupt?

It’s hard to imagine how the next election and beyond will affect the way we live and work, but one thing’s for certain: The continuing move toward communism will result in a breathtaking change that does not bode well for the average American.

Now, I fear the consequences of the fight between the Marxist and the Moron – knowing that all of those endorsements came with promises that, if implemented, would severely damage the U.S. Constitution and our American way of life. I do not feel so guilty or honor-bound as to disadvantage myself or my family in favor of my neighbor, or even worse, illegal aliens with an allegiance to a foreign sovereign power.

Folks, we are screwed – the degree of which is dependent on your actions in the November election. Don’t buy into the idea that President Trump’s reelection is a sure thing. The Democrats have ways to find votes to change elections. We must beat them with an unchallengeable majority.

Start now to help reverse the hoard of evildoers at the gate.

SUPER TUESDAY: DEMOCRATS IN A PICKLE

There is little doubt that the Democrat Party, the party of slavery, segregation, anti-Semitism, and un-Americanism, finds itself in a pickle – caught in the middle between second and third base and unsure of which way to run…

democrat-pickle

On the far-left fringe, you have the Bronx Bolshevik Bernie Sanders and comrade fellow-traveler Elizabeth “Liawatha” Warren. On the far-left you have billionaire oligarch Michael “nanny state” Bloomberg and Joe “the crazy uncle” Biden who seems unsure of where he is, who he is speaking to, and even worse, what office he is running for. Gaffes or the signs of a developing mental issue from a candidate who has already suffered at least one brain aneurysm. THERE ARE NO CENTRISTS OR MODERATES RUNNING IN 2020.

It may come down to the candidate’s choice of Vice President…

It is likely that all of the candidates are evaluating women who could run as their vice presidential pick, Elizabeth Sanders being an obvious choice for Bernie Sanders to solidity the far-left fringe. Biden has alluded to eight or nine women he would consider for the position. With Amy Klobuchar dropping out of the race with a Biden endorsement, she is near the top of the list. With Bloomberg, the task is increasingly difficult, especially given his past derogatory comments on women in general. In spite of past speculation, it is unlikely that he would select Hillary Clinton with her overwhelming baggage and polarization. I wonder if the China-loving oligarch Bloomberg could buy billionaire Oprah Winfrey or Ellen DeGeneres. I see that California’s Senator, the nullity known as Kamala Harris is jumping up and down yelling “pick me, I’m a woman of color.”

Trump could trump the progressive socialist democrats…

Of course, not to be outdone in the feminism department, we find Democrat power consultant Paul Begala emphatically stating that President Trump is more than likely to thrown Vice President Pence under the bus and run with the increasing popular Nikki Haley, who is not only a telegenic, well-spoken woman but could be considered a woman of color, an American of Indian descent and a wide background of business and political experience. And Begala was emphatic, the announcement will take place on the day of the Democratic convention.

Biden moves hard left – suggests failed Texas candidate Beto O’Rourke will handle gun policy…

O'ROURKE: I am if it is a weapon that was designed to kill people on a battlefield; if they high impact high velocity round when it hits your body shreds everything inside of your body because it was designed to do that so that you would bleed to death on a battlefield and not be able to get up and kill one of our soldiers. When we see that being used against children and in Odessa I met the mother of a 15-year-old girl who was shot by an AR-15 and that mother watched her bleed to death over the course of an hour because so many other people were shot by that AR-15 in Odessa and Midland there weren't enough ambulances to get to them in time. Hell yes we are going to take your AR-15, your AK-47. <Source>

Moments after former Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke — who promised in a September debate to take away legally purchased assault rifles if elected — endorsed Joe Biden’s White House run, the former vice president promised to name the Texan as his point man on gun control.

“I want to make something clear, I’m going to guarantee you this is not the last you’ve seen of him,” Biden said Monday evening during a campaign rally in Dallas. “You’re going to take care of the gun problem with me. You’re going to be the one who leads this effort.”

“I’m counting on you. I’m counting on you,” Biden continued. “We need you badly, the state needs you, the country needs you. You’re the best.” <Source>

Biden not only moves hard left but attempts to co-opt oligarch Bloomberg’s multi-million dollar gun control efforts.

Elitist Bloomberg demonstrates his ELITE superiority…

“How do you justify pushing for more gun control when you have an armed security detail that is likely equipped with the same firearms and magazines that you seek to ban the common citizen from owning,” asked Clarke Chitty, a voter from Bristow, Virginia. Does your life matter more than mine, or my family, or these people’s?”

“Look, I probably get 40 or 50 threats every week and some of them are real. That just happens when you’re the mayor in New York City or you’re very wealthy and you’re campaigning for President of the United States, you get lots of threats,” Bloomberg said. “I have a security detail. I pay for it all myself. And they’re all retired police officers who are very well-trained in fire arms.” <Source>

Both these bozos want to disarm the law-abiding citizens of America, hundreds of millions who have not committed a crime, and exhibit respect for the proper ownership and use of firearms. Creating a larger victim pool and ignoring the commonsense that criminals, crazies, and terrorists do not respect nor obey any gun laws and will use anything at their command to intimidate others or commits their heinous acts. I would think that the average inner-city resident is more at risk of being murdered or injured than the well-guarded former billionaire mayor.

The math …

To measure the impact of primary voting, remember that too win the Democrat nomination on the first ballot, a candidate must receive support from a majority of pledged delegates — at least 1,991 of the total 3,979 pledged delegates. The popular vote is meaningless, the metric is pledged delegates.

It appears that the three choices will be Biden, Sanders, or a brokered convention. Bloomberg keeps explaining that he does not need to win any states – he only needs a plurality lock-up on the first vote and then be selected by the electors, a percentage of whom are super-delegates with extra votes. I look forward to an announcement from Bloomberg after super-Tuesday.

As we approach midnight on the 3rd – we see the race tightening between Bernie and “Weekend with Bernie Biden.” Warren lacks the money to stay in much longer. And Bloomberg has no incentive to drop when many are questioning the possible cognitive impairment of Joe Biden. (Biden: 452; Sanders: 380; Warren: 50 Bloomberg: 44 per Associated Press at 11:55 p.m.) Warren did not carry her home state of Massachusetts.

satalin

Bottom line…

This is not a case of the best of the worst or the worst of the best, it is a case of communism against capitalism, good versus evil, and pro-America against the un-Americans.

The only revolution in America is the communist revolution in the Democrat Party. That a candidate who openly hates America and openly celebrates dictators is a front-runner and supported by young people should be of concern to every American citizen. Our culture is changing and the America we know and love is slipping away. How the hell someone like Sanders can come close to the top in Texas is deeply concerning.

We are so screwed.

IT'S NOT OVER FOR PETE BUTTIGIEG & TOM STEYER

UPDATE: 03/02/2020 -- Amy Lobuchar suspends campaign and endorses Joe Biden.  Elizabeth Warren can't be far behind.

Before you celebrate the suspension of the 2020 presidential campaigns of billionaire Californian Tom Steyer and former Iowa Mayor Pete Buttigieg, remember they are still communists and still capable of bringing funding and voter support to the campaign of the eventual candidate selected by the Democrat party.bsIt is now time for “Make A Deal” where the losers negotiate with potential winners for nominations to prestigious cabinet positions or even the Vice Presidency.“Left” in the debate…communism-2In the radical communist lane, we find the Bronx Bolshevik, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth “Liawatha Warren. "INTELLIGENTSIA" -- THERE IS THAT WORD AGAIN

bloomberg_mike

Every time I hear or see the word “intelligentsia,” I see red flags flying. As is someone who graduates from a prestigious university or institution of higher learning has some magic insight into the human condition and how people “need” to be governed.

Former Mayor and billionaire Michael Bloomberg once again displays the arrogant Marxist conceit that there exits a well-educated elite that is smart enough and trustworthy enough to be given the power to govern the way we live our lives. And, that somehow this power should supersede individual inalienable and constitutional rights for the greater good of “the people.”

One need only consider Bloomberg’s disdain for the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. Without regard to the commonsense observation that criminals, crazies, and terrorists do not respect nor follow the law, Bloomberg would disarm law-abiding citizens to create an even larger pool of victims that cannot be protected by the government when and where they require such protection. It appears that Michael Bloomberg, himself surrounded by armed security 24/7 for decades, would deny the “common man” their inalienable right to self-protection. And, almost as bad, remove the last defense against a tyrannical government or those hostile forces who would invade our country. An invasion seemingly welcomed by progressive communist democrats such as Michael Bloomberg with their open borders policy.

Consider Bloomberg’s comments on 60 Minutes when he explains why he believes he will be the next President of the United States…

In an interview with Scott Pelly, Bloomberg has been quoted as saying, “A few years ago there was a revolution against the intelligentsia. People said, ‘you know, those people, particularly on the coasts, are trying to tell us what to do.’ They wanted a change. That explains Donald Trump. Now, people seem to have changed. This cycle, people want stability.”

Stability? The only instability that I can see is that promoted by the mainstream media that has openly attacked the President 24/7 in an unending barrage of negative news written with sensationalistic headlines, or when the news was good, muted and suppressed reporting.

Stability? You mean like voting for a party that attempted a silent coup d'état to remove the duly elected President of the United States even before his inauguration? Do you mean like the party which elected a corrupt un-American Communist like Barack Obama to the Presidency, a man who seeded the government with fellow-travelers and subverted the nation’s premier non-partisan institutions, including the nation’s intelligence and law enforcement apparatus? Do you mean like a party which nominated a demonstrable thoroughly corrupt felonious liar like Hillary Clinton for the Presidency? Do you mean the party who informally elevated the position of the Speaker of the House to the co-presidency of the United States and encouraged federal judges to overturn presidential initiatives which they have supported only years before? Do you mean the party of slavery, segregation, and antiSemitism?

The idea that Michael Bloomberg would attempt to sell “stability” while his party is calling for the radical transformation of the United States, its economy, its healthcare, its culture, and its relationship with foreign hostile powers only goes to prove Bloomberg is another Marxist liar willing to say or do anything to grab power.

Running the government is nothing like running a corporation…

Where a Chief Executive Officer of a corporation has almost dictatorial powers in pursuing their agenda, the Chief Executive of the United States must respond to those who hold the power of the purse (the House of Representatives), those who must agree with the House before action can be taken, ratify treaties, and confirm high-level appointments (the Senate), and it is all subject to review by a partisan Judiciary which appears capable of negating or altering legislation with or without constitutional approval.

Truth be told, Bloomberg started his company with a $10 million severance package from his previous employer and three capable employees (Thomas Secunda, Duncan MacMillan, Charles Zegar,) who actually performed the day-to-day technological miracles. Not to mention a twelve-percent equity stake by their first customer, Merrill-Lynch.

In addition, Michael Bloomberg owns a significant world-wide media operation, Bloomberg News, that has publicly stated that they will not be reporting on Michael Bloomberg but feel free to comment on the other candidates.

Bottom line…

He might be one of the wealthiest men in the world. He might be an accomplished businessman. But I have yet to hear him promote America, freedom, liberty, or the inalienable rights of individual citizens. Has anyone heard Bloomberg comment on religion, smaller decentralized government, lower taxes, a more non-partisan free press, the value of a family and the ability of parents to make medical decisions for their underage children?

Quite the contrary, I hear him telling us how we should live – for the good of a collective society. That, and his inability to call Communist Chinese Xi Jinping a dictator, even though he runs the four most important political and state offices in China as the General Secretary of the Communist Party, general secretary of the Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Military Commission, and President of the Peoples Republic of China.

In fact, Bloomberg’s significant business interests in China may make him vulnerable to Chinese manipulation – more than Trump might be vulnerable to the confiscation of one of his foreign-owned Trump-branded hotels or golf courses.

The idea that someone who attends a prestigious university and tests well on the fashionable ideas of the day as taught by progressive professors somehow gives them some authority, moral or otherwise, to tell me what I cannot do to protect myself and my family is simply un-American.

We are so screwed.
