CALIFORNIA'S COMMUNISTS CONTINUE LEGALIZING ANTI-AMERICA INDOCTRINATION

With its one-party control, the progressive socialist democrats are seeking to force all students in the California State University system to be indoctrinated in the type of ethnic studies program that always starts from the premise that America is evil and its white citizenry is irredeemably racist—taught, of course, by a tenured hardcore radical Marxist or communist.

Consider the bill that was introduced by the head of California’s Legislative Black Caucus, Shirley Weber (D-San Diego)…

Bill No: AB 1460
Author: Weber (D), et al.
Amended: 2/11/20 in Senate

The Legislature finds and declares all of the following:

(a) Ethnic studies programs have come about from students of color demanding them. On November 6, 1968, a coalition of student groups at San Francisco State University demanded that the university institute an ethnic studies program.

[OCS: I was not aware that a small, but vocal, subsegment of the student population was able to “demand” system-wide curriculum changes. I have no problem with a voluntary elective, but to make this part of graduation requirements is excessive and racist in and of itself.]

(b) Ethnic studies are an interdisciplinary and comparative study of race and ethnicity with special focus on four historically defined racialized core groups: Native Americans, African Americans, Asian Americans, and Latina and Latino Americans.

[OCS: It appears that this course of study should be part of a U.S. history class and that such a class might be more beneficial to society than concentrating on historical wrongs and real or imagined grievances. Unlike the other three groups, the Asian-Americans are the only ones being discriminated against in the University system because they are over-achievers and make everyone less equal by comparison. ]

(c) Studies have found that both students of color and white students benefit academically as well as socially from taking ethnic studies courses. Ethnic studies courses play an important role in building an inclusive multicultural democracy.

[OCS: One might assume that America would benefit from a program that stresses assimilation, integration, and the celebration of our unique American culture while allowing the preservation of one’s cultural heritage. By forcing the further division of the student body by race, one is more likely to create more racists than reducing racism.]

(d) A report of the California State University Task Force on the Advancement of Ethnic Studies, commissioned by the Chancellor’s office, recommended that ethnic studies become a general education requirement throughout the California State University system.

DIGEST: This bill requires the California State University (CSU), commencing with the 2021-22 academic year, to (1) provide courses in ethnic studies at each of its campuses; and (2) require, as an undergraduate graduation requirement commencing with students graduating in the 2024-25 academic year, the completion of, at minimum, one three-unit course in ethnic studies.

Ethnic studies as a requirement for all students would advance a more inclusive society that values the diversity we represent in several ways.

One, it maximizes the knowledge in the classroom by introducing new perspectives that represents a larger universe of experiences in society.

[OCS: One can imagine a course filled with political correctness, multiculturalism, and moral equivalency – and the denigration of the unique American culture which should unite rather than divide.]

Two, it helps students develop critical thinking skills by understanding their world from multiple perspectives, reducing group thinking that can be ethnocentric and intolerant of human diversity.

[OCS: This is the type of “critical thinking” that forms the core of all of the radical social justice warrior programs. It is a fact that when cultural elements are stressed over mainstream societal factors, there is more self-segregation and a feeling of “apartness.”

And, it is the progressive socialist democrat segment that is intolerant of free speech, academic freedom, and real diversity – especially in academia.]

Three, it better prepares our students to be productive and constructive workers/professionals in increasingly diversified and racial minority state.

[OCS: Perhaps the University should teach life-skills rather than indoctrinate students in the tenets of Marxist theory and victimhood?]

Four, it creates a sense of belonging that enhances graduation and success rates for underrepresented minority students.

[OCS; Did I see previous CSU classes demanding a separate graduation for black students?]

And lastly, education that reflects all racial ethnic groups’ experiences advances social justice and a democracy that works for everyone. A state curriculum that requires Ethnic Studies will help students learn lessons from the past to construct a better future.”

[OCS: No conservative values here.]

You can bet that there will be no mention of the real racial history of the United States where Democrats were responsible for slavery, segregation, Jim Crow, systematic oppression, the KKK, and who opposed civil rights legislation. Where the GOP and the North fought a hard-won war to abolish slavery. You can also bet that there will be no coverage of modern slave-trading states in Libya and elsewhere in Africa. Or systematic religious oppression in China. Or the hatred of the LGBTQ+ community in Islamic nations.

How long will it be before the gays and transgender demand a similar program?

And, who will point out that the Democrat Party has bypassed American Blacks as they pander and dole out jobs, money, and opportunities that could have benefited blacks to their new best friends, the illegal aliens?

Binary dogma…

According to CSU professors like Stevie Ruiz, assistant professor in the Department of Chicano Studies at California State University, Northridge, “You are either benefiting from racism or suffering from it.” A position that continually reinforces the battle over race and institutionalizes racism in our nation. Of course, the professor benefits and profits from such divisions as it keeps him employed in spreading self-serving rhetoric. To illustrate the poisonous division, consider that “Ruiz pointed to disproportional deaths among African Americans and other ethnic groups from COVID-19 that are rooted in racism and inequality.” I was unaware that  COVID-19 was caused by a selective and thinking organism that could discriminate. If there was any such discrimination is was based on age, physical condition, and underlying co-morbidities such as obesity, diabetes, cardio-pulmonary issues, and those with weakened immune systems.

How self-serving are ethnic studies in academia?

Bao Lo, an assistant professor of ethnic studies at Sacramento State, said, “the passage of AB 1460 is a big step toward advancing ethnic studies as a discipline.” More students equal more classes equals more instructors equals more money – and the ability to indoctrinate individuals into becoming progressive socialist democrats.

Bottom line…

This is little more than academic feather-bedding and an attempt to indoctrinate students in divisive Marxist theory further, creating classes of victims who will eventually demand a revolution to tear down our present capitalist system and replace it with a perpetual authoritarian version of socialism/communism.

By all means, include a U.S. history class in the graduation requirements, but do not make it race-based, sex-based, or Marxist-influenced.

In a time when America is in turmoil, the last thing we need is agitators and activists to divide our nation further and devolve society into chaos. There is no doubt that the California University System, by design, is a hotbed of radical activism fueled by a relatively small number of vocal agitators and activists. A virtual progressive socialist democrat factory.

We are so screwed.
