A DAY IN SCAMVILLE

It appears yesterday was scam day. Among this text and email missives I received… scam-1

Don’t bother replying, merely Googling “AcuPrime” reveals the scam.

Then there is this bogus email intercepted by my anti-virus program…

eset-1

Another reason to keep your operating system, anti-malware, and applications up to date.

Other than being flagged for its threats, here are the red flags that make it suspicious…

ESET-2

Other than the fact that I do not do business with goldenmotor, ask yourself why any legitimate business with a domain name would have you reply to an individual at a free personal email account.

What can you do?

Nothing! Your communications provider and ISP (Internet Service Provider) view you as an annoyance to be ignored – or sent a form letter at best.

Bottom line…

It is up to you to remain vigilant and turn situational awareness into a habit.

We are so screwed when our service providers refuse to take action against the scammers and hide behind unilateral user agreements, which hold them blameless – even for their own negligence.

CRIME AND LIBERAL SCIENCE

I grew up with the scientific method – a formalized system of deliberate skepticism that allowed one to question everything, from assumptions and methodology to the findings and conclusions. But that was then and now is now.

It appears that the tenets of liberal science are simple.

Tailor your research to maximize funding and media recognition opportunities.

Ignore the limitations of your field of specialization and feel free to opine on any subject using your “scientist” credentials to lend credibility and gravitas to your blathering.

Forget questions about correlation and causation as you perform statistical tests and use the artifacts of mathematics to claim two-decimal-point precision.

Being featured in the New York Times is the liberal equivalent of being published in a well-regarded peer-reviewed science journal. Your research must have a catchy hook and an backronym, if possible, an acronym deliberately created from a media-friendly phrase whose initial letters spell out your chosen world. If you are having trouble with backronyms, you may wish to seek guidance from the politicians whose legislation often is built around backronyms.

Crime, weather, and climate change

Abstract

This paper estimates the impact of climate change on the prevalence of criminal activity in the United States.

The analysis is based on a 30-year panel of monthly crime and weather data for 2997 US counties.

[OCS: A thirty-year study period is inconsequential to climate change which takes place over geologic time periods. Whatever data you choose to use, the graph will be in the shape of the infamous hockey stick as crime, societal-defined behavior, was virtually non-existent prior to modern civilizations. So, by all means, let us select a data-rich time period that will facilitate our “analysis.” As with the much manipulated terrestrial temperature dataset which is full of man-made cruft, crime statistics are not uniform and, in many cases, the result of political considerations.]

I identify the effect of weather on monthly crime by using a semi-parametric bin estimator and controlling for state-by-month and county-by-year fixed effects.

[OCS: The methodology sounds very scientific. Let us consider that many crimes are susceptible to time and temperature variables. Some crimes require they be committed during business hours, which tend to be warmer than after-hours periods. And, we would expect that criminal activity might be reduced in sub-zero conditions when getaways over icy roads are unpredictable. And, let us posit that many crimes of passion are spur of the moment and cannot be linked to either time nor temperature.]

The results show that temperature has a strong positive effect on criminal behavior, with little evidence of lagged impacts.

[OCS: One might expect that there is a correlation between the “comfort”of a criminal perpetrator and their “crime” that might transcends means, motive, and opportunity, but not likely.]

Between 2010 and 2099, climate change will cause an additional 22,000 murders, 180,000 cases of rape, 1.2 million aggravated assaults, 2.3 million simple assaults, 260,000 robberies, 1.3 million burglaries, 2.2 million cases of larceny, and 580,000 cases of vehicle theft in the United States.

[OCS: By all means, let us graph the results and then artificially extend the graph to provide a prediction – one large enough to attract media attention. And, make the end-point sufficiently far in the future so as to preclude the probability that someone might actually research a 79 year-old paper and comment.]

Liberal bullpucky …

I wonder if the author of this “wonderful” paper controlled for progressive politics.

You know, the politics of race and oppression that demand that criminals be incarcerated only up to the point where the percentage of those in custody match their minority’s percentage population representation in the general population.

You know, the politics of liberalism where any theft under $950 merits a ticket, not a swift ride to jail. Where, bail is not required and expedited revolving-door processing puts criminals back in the community with only a six-hour delay.

You know, the politics of liberalism and ignoring the enforcement of existing laws, especially those relating to illegal aliens and an influx of foreign criminals.

You know, the politics of progressive political promotion, where prosecutors would rather plea-bargain away serious gun-related charges in order to obtain a guaranteed conviction on a lesser crime.

You know, criminalizing the self-defense behavior of law-abiding citizens who want to protect themselves from the thugs who roam the community.

Perhaps, we should study the relationship between feeding the union-driven criminal justice system and the deliberate creation and tolerance for crime.

I also wonder if the system of crime measuring is as flawed as the government’s system of measuring temperature using ground stations?

Bottom line…

Once again, we find researchers attempting to find exploitable patterns in the natural variability of climate change.

If you look closely, you will find today’s scientists increasingly concentrating their efforts on narrow, but exploitable niches. Or, in other words, as they concentrate, their focus on less and less until they know everything about nothing. And, of course, can extrapolate their limited local findings into global significance.

De-politicize crime and remove criminals from the streets – and climate will means nothing.

We are so screwed.

REPUBLICANS SABOTAGE SENATE IMPEACHMENT PROCEEDINGS WHILE HISTORIC MIDDLE EAST PLAN IS ANNOUNCED

After a well-presented Republican defense of the President of the United States, we find three Republicans (Bolton, Kelly, and Romney) attempting to throw a monkey wrench into the Democrat-driven impeachment proceedings…

BITCHY-LITTLE-GIRLS

all while Donald Trump, President of the United States, and Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, offer a historic Israel/Palestinian solution featuring safety, security, and economic development for the Palestinians.

As the Senate impeachment is proceeding, President Trump is rolling along – holding rallies with record audience turnout and achieving historical results – proving that the Democrats and many members of the Administration are irrelevant.

Why the Democrats and their RINO cohorts need to remove President Trump or cripple his Administration…

Trump is doing what all of these political poohbahs could not achieve, even given their decades of effort.

Once again, the key to the Middle East Palestinian problem is being offered to the Palestinians.

It remains to be seen if the thugocracy will accept the necessary conditions: recognize Israel’s right to exist, denounce state-sponsored terrorism, and demilitarize the terrorist-run Gaza strip.

Remarks by President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu of the State of Israel in Joint Statements

It’s been a long and very arduous process to arrive at this moment.  On Sunday, I delivered to Prime Minister Netanyahu my vision for peace, prosperity, and a brighter future for the Israelis and Palestinians.  This vision for peace is fundamentally different from past proposals.

In the past, even the most well-intentioned plans were light on factual details and heavy on conceptual frameworks.  By contrast, our plan is 80 pages and is the most detailed proposal ever put forward by far.

As I have seen throughout my long career as a dealmaker, complex problems require nuanced, fact-based remedies.  That is why our proposal provides precise technical solutions to make Israelis, Palestinians, and the region safer and much more prosperous.

My vision presents a “win-win” opportunity for both sides, a realistic two-state solution that resolves the risk of Palestinian statehood to Israel’s security.  Today, Israel is taking a giant step toward peace.  Yesterday, Prime Minister Netanyahu informed me that he is willing to endorse the vision as the basis for direct negotiations — and, I will say, the General also endorsed, and very strongly — with the Palestinians.  A historic breakthrough.

Read the plan here.

hdr-1

The thugocracy that rules the Palestinians with an iron fist will likely refuse to give up some of their power and the billions stolen from the Palestinian people.

Bottom line…

Once again, we see the reason why the Democrats cannot be trusted to protect and defend the United States Constitution and the safety and security of America and all Americans. No wonder why they are hell-bent on damaging or displacing  President Donald Trump.

Why disgruntled employees like Bolton, Kelly, and Trump are attacking Trump is there for all to see – they are jealous of someone who they believe is their intellectual and moral inferior — made more acute by Trump’s continued achievements. In essence, they are selling their own competing brand of self-serving bullshit.

We are so screwed.

THE OTHER DEADLY CHINESE VIRUS?

It appears that, according to published reports, Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei is not part of the Trump trade deal…

HUAWEI

Especially after China’s attempt to pressure President Trump’s negotiators to abandon the Department of Justice criminal cases against  Huawei corporate entities that conspired to steal technology and trade secrets and rewarded employees who stole confidential information from companies around the world. And to lift the U.S. blacklisting of suspect telecommunications equipment and services.

A 10-count indictment unsealed today in the Western District of Washington State charges Huawei Device Co., Ltd. and Huawei Device Co. USA with theft of trade secrets conspiracy, attempted theft of trade secrets, seven counts of wire fraud, and one count of obstruction of justice.  The indictment, returned by a grand jury on January 16, details Huawei’s efforts to steal trade secrets from Bellevue, Washington based T-Mobile USA and then obstruct justice when T-Mobile threatened to sue Huawei in U.S. District Court in Seattle.  The alleged conduct described in the indictment occurred from 2012 to 2014, and includes an internal Huawei announcement that the company was offering bonuses to employees who succeeded in stealing confidential information from other companies. <Source: DOJ Indictment>

A 13-count indictment was unsealed earlier today in federal court in Brooklyn, New York, charging four defendants, all of whom are affiliated with Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. (Huawei), the world’s largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer, with headquarters in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and operations around the world.  The indicted defendants include Huawei and two Huawei subsidiaries — Huawei Device USA Inc. (Huawei USA) and Skycom Tech Co. Ltd. (Skycom) — as well as Huawei’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Wanzhou Meng (Meng).

The defendants Huawei and Skycom are charged with bank fraud and conspiracy to commit bank fraud, wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to violate and substantive violations of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), and conspiracy to commit money laundering.  Huawei and Huawei USA are charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice related to the Grand Jury investigation in the Eastern District of New York.  Meng is charged with bank fraud, wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud. <Source: DOJ Indictment>

President Trump’s Executive Order…

I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, find that foreign adversaries are increasingly creating and exploiting vulnerabilities in information and communications technology and services, which store and communicate vast amounts of sensitive information, facilitate the digital economy, and support critical infrastructure and vital emergency services, in order to commit malicious cyber-enabled actions, including economic and industrial espionage against the United States and its people.  I further find that the unrestricted acquisition or use in the United States of information and communications technology or services designed, developed, manufactured, or supplied by persons owned by, controlled by, or subject to the jurisdiction or direction of foreign adversaries augments the ability of foreign adversaries to create and exploit vulnerabilities in information and communications technology or services, with potentially catastrophic effects, and thereby constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States.  This threat exists both in the case of individual acquisitions or uses of such technology or services, and when acquisitions or uses of such technologies are considered as a class.  Although maintaining an open investment climate in information and communications technology, and in the United States economy more generally, is important for the overall growth and prosperity of the United States, such openness must be balanced by the need to protect our country against critical national security threats.  To deal with this threat, additional steps are required to protect the security, integrity, and reliability of information and communications technology and services provided and used in the United States.  In light of these findings, I hereby declare a national emergency with respect to this threat.

Section 1Implementation.  (a)  The following actions are prohibited:  any acquisition, importation, transfer, installation, dealing in, or use of any information and communications technology or service (transaction) by any person, or with respect to any property, subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, where the transaction involves any property in which any foreign country or a national thereof has any interest (including through an interest in a contract for the provision of the technology or service), where the transaction was initiated, is pending, or will be completed after the date of this order, and where the Secretary of Commerce (Secretary), in consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, the Attorney General, the Secretary of Homeland Security, the United States Trade Representative, the Director of National Intelligence, the Administrator of General Services, the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, and, as appropriate, the heads of other executive departments and agencies (agencies), has determined that:

(i)   the transaction involves information and communications technology or services designed, developed, manufactured, or supplied, by persons owned by, controlled by, or subject to the jurisdiction or direction of a foreign adversary; and

(ii)  the transaction:

(A)  poses an undue risk of sabotage to or subversion of the design, integrity, manufacturing, production, distribution, installation, operation, or maintenance of information and communications technology or services in the United States;

(B)  poses an undue risk of catastrophic effects on the security or resiliency of United States critical infrastructure or the digital economy of the United States; or

(C)  otherwise poses an unacceptable risk to the national security of the United States or the security and safety of United States persons. <Source: White House Executive Order>

The real danger…

To truly protect a communications system, one must secure the end-points as well as all intermediary connections. Unfortunately, some of our allies, notably France, Germany, etc., are still willing to do business with Huawei and thus render the entire 5G communications structure vulnerable. This is especially problematical because industrial-grade encryption software products cannot be exported to many foreign countries, thus increasing our vulnerability to cyberattacks.

Bottom line…

While most viral flu outbreaks originate in China, this is one viral outbreak that can pose even greater risks to our population and way of life than most flu outbreaks.

We are so screwed.

DAVOS: NABOBS AND NONSENSE

The Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, is an event for the wealthy, the powerful, and those who are politically connected. An event to see-and-be-seen, to make new and potentially profitable contacts and to renew old ones. A place to pretend that you know or can learn what is going on in this increasingly chaotic and partisan world. A place where you can brag about your past accomplishments, warn about the uncertainties of the future, and reassure others that you are the best person to meet these challenges. The entry price, basic membership, and one ticket is approximately $75,000 exclusive of transportation, lodging, food and beverages, entertainment, and incidentals. If more than one attends, it is not as simple as purchasing an extra ticket; you must upgrade your membership, which can easily cost more than $600,000.

DAVOS

So what wisdom will we find at Davos?

Media-manufactured personality Gretta Thunberg lectured the world’s leaders about climate change. No, not the science, because she barely understands the subject matter, but the need to take action. Action that always seems to lean toward more government, more taxes, and fewer individual freedoms.

(Excerpts) Greta Thunberg’s Remarks at the Davos Economic Forum

One year ago I came to Davos and told you that our house is on fire. I said I wanted you to panic. I’ve been warned that telling people to panic about the climate crisis is a very dangerous thing to do. But don’t worry. It’s fine. Trust me, I’ve done this before and I can assure you it doesn’t lead to anything.

[OCS: Panic, the tool of the political manipulators, is meant to create an emotional response that allows you to suspend critical judgement of what you are being told. Panic can blind you to the facts. Instead you are offer pseudo-facts which may be little more than a hypothesis based on incomplete or faulty assumptions and which, when viewed in the light of day, cannot withstand scrutiny.]

And, for the record, when we children tell you to panic we’re not telling you to go on like before. We’re not telling you to rely on technologies that don’t even exist today at scale and that science says perhaps never will.

We are not telling you to keep talking about reaching “net zero emissions” or “carbon neutrality” by cheating and fiddling around with numbers. We are not telling you to “offset your emissions” by just paying someone else to plant trees in places like Africa while at the same time forests like the Amazon are being slaughtered at an infinitely higher rate.

Planting trees is good, of course, but it’s nowhere near enough of what is needed and it cannot replace real mitigation and rewilding nature.

Let’s be clear. We don’t need a “low carbon economy.” We don’t need to “lower emissions.” Our emissions have to stop if we are to have a chance to stay below the 1.5-degree target. And, until we have the technologies that at scale can put our emissions to minus, then we must forget about net zero. We need real zero.

[OCS: The truth is that there is not one scientist who can identify and measure man’s contribution to climate change amid the noise of natural climate variability. Especially in the short term. There is not one computation that can tell you the Earth’s optimum temperature. All of the numbers are based on assumptions and computations, which may not necessarily correlate with reality. Ask yourself why climate modelers continue to use deeply-flawed terrestrial datasets and ignore satellite data which covers the globe and has not been manipulated to produce man-made hockey sticks?]

In the days running up to the 50th anniversary of the World Economic Forum, I joined a group of climate activists demanding that you, the world’s most powerful and influential business and political leaders, begin to take the action needed.

We demand at this year’s World Economic Forum, participants from all companies, banks, institutions and governments:

Immediately halt all investments in fossil fuel exploration and extraction.

Immediately end all fossil fuel subsidies.

And immediately and completely divest from fossil fuels.

We don’t want these things done by 2050, 2030 or even 2021. We want this done now.

[OCS: Yes, by all means, let's destroy the economy of the United States in favor of gross polluters like Russia, China, and India who will not adhere to any limits on their own economies. Yes, by all means, tell those emerging nations that they cannot exploit their natural assets to grow their economies while the rest of the developed nations benefits from their prior actions. Yes, by all means, stamp your feet and shout: fossil fuels: BAD; plastics: BAD; petrochemicals: BAD  – and one of the critical building blocks of life: BAD.  Forget that wind and solar are unreliable, unsustainable, and not cost effective. Don’t mention nuclear energy because that was made politically incorrect by the Soviet peaceniks of the 60s.]

Our house is still on fire. Your inaction is fueling the flames by the hour. And we are telling you to act as if you loved your children above all else.   <Source>

And then we hear from that media-derided mad-man, Donald Trump who has a nasty habit of speaking about what’s on his mind and in terms everybody can understand…

(Excerpts) Remarks by President Trump at the World Economic Forum

It’s an honor to address the distinguished members of this organization for the second time as President.  When I spoke at this forum two years ago, I told you that we had launched the great American comeback.  Today, I’m proud to declare that the United States is in the midst of an economic boom the likes of which the world has never seen before.

We’ve regained our stride, we discovered our spirit and reawakened the powerful machinery of American enterprise.  America is thriving, America is flourishing, and yes, America is winning again like never before.

The time for skepticism is over.  People are flowing back into our country.  Companies are coming back into our country.  Many of you, who I know, are coming back in with your plants and your factories.  Thank you very much.  America’s newfound prosperity is undeniable, unprecedented, and unmatched anywhere in the world.

America achieved this stunning turnaround not by making minor changes to a handful of policies, but by adopting a whole new approach centered entirely on the wellbeing of the American worker.

Every decision we make — on taxes, trade, regulation, energy, immigration, education, and more — is focused on improving the lives of everyday Americans.  We are determined to create the highest standard of living that anyone can imagine, and right now, that’s what we’re doing for our workers.  The highest in the world.  And we’re determined to ensure that the working and middle class reap the largest gains.

A nation’s highest duty is to its own citizens.  Honoring this truth is the only way to build faith and confidence in the market system.  Only when governments put their own citizens first will people be fully invested in their national futures. In the United States, we are building an economy that works for everyone, restoring the bonds of love and loyalty that unite citizens and powers nations.

Today, I hold up the American model as an example to the world of a working system of free enterprise that will produce the most benefits for the most people in the 21st century and beyond.

A pro-worker, pro-citizen, pro-family agenda demonstrates how a nation can thrive when its communities, its companies, its government, and its people work together for the good of the whole nation.

We’re removing roadblocks to success and rewarding businesses that invest in workers, families, and communities.

To protect our security and our economy, we are also boldly embracing American energy independence.  The United States is now, by far, the number-one producer of oil and natural gas anywhere in the world, by far.  It’s not even close.

While many European countries struggle with crippling energy costs, the American energy revolution is saving American families $2,500 every year in lowering electric bills and numbers that people said couldn’t happen, and also, very importantly, prices at the pump.

We’ve been so successful that the United States no longer needs to import energy from hostile nations.  With an abundance of American natural gas now available, our European allies no longer have to be vulnerable to unfriendly energy suppliers either.  We urge our friends in Europe to use America’s vast supply and achieve true energy security.

With U.S. companies and researchers leading the way, we are on the threshold of virtually unlimited reserves of energy, including from traditional fuels, LNG, clean coal, next-generation nuclear power, and gas hydrate technologies.

This is not a time for pessimism; this is a time for optimism.  Fear and doubt is not a good thought process because this is a time for tremendous hope and joy and optimism and action.

But to embrace the possibilities of tomorrow, we must reject the perennial prophets of doom and their predictions of the apocalypse.  They are the heirs of yesterday’s foolish fortune-tellers — and I have them and you have them, and we all have them, and they want to see us do badly, but we don’t let that happen.  They predicted an overpopulation crisis in the 1960s, mass starvation in the ’70s, and an end of oil in the 1990s.  These alarmists always demand the same thing: absolute power to dominate, transform, and control every aspect of our lives.

We will never let radical socialists destroy our economy, wreck our country, or eradicate our liberty.  America will always be the proud, strong, and unyielding bastion of freedom.

In America, we understand what the pessimists refuse to see: that a growing and vibrant market economy focused on the future lifts the human spirit and excites creativity strong enough to overcome any challenge — any challenge by far.

The great scientific breakthroughs of the 20th century — from penicillin, to high-yield wheat, to modern transportation, and breakthrough vaccines — have lifted living standards and saved billions of lives around the world.  And we’re continuing to work on things that you’ll be hearing about in the near future that, even today, sitting here right now, you wouldn’t believe it’s possible that we have found the answers.  You’ll be hearing about it.  But we have found answers to things that people said would not be possible — certainly not in a very short period of time.

But the wonders of the last century will pale in comparison to what today’s young innovators will achieve because they are doing things that nobody thought even feasible to begin.  We continue to embrace technology, not to shun it.  When people are free to innovate, millions will live longer, happier, healthier lives.

For three years now, America has shown the world that the path to a prosperous future begins with putting workers first, choosing growth, and freeing entrepreneurs to bring their dreams to life.

Thank you very much.  God bless you.  God bless your countries.  And God bless America.  Thank you.  Thank you very much.  <Source>

Bottom line…

I know who is paying for President Trump – the American taxpayer. But who is paying for Thunberg as she jets around the world, spewing carbon and her negative message of doom?

We are so screwed.

WHEN THE SCHIFF HITS THE FAN

NADLER

It appears that the House Democrat Impeachment Managers are through with their initial presentation, capped off by House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler waddling to the microphone and admonishing the Senators before him,  “any Senator who votes to deny a witness, who votes to deny evidence, is voting to cover up the president's crimes and subversion of the Constitution.”

What crimes?

There is no doubt in anyone's mind that military aid for Ukraine was delayed but ultimately delivered before the deadline for the delivery. Likewise, there is no doubt that the President suggested that Ukrainian authorities investigate Burisma, the corrupt gas company that employed Hunter Biden, the Vice President's son. These two actions are indisputable facts, likewise, they are indisputably within the President's plenary powers and therefore do not constitute an impeachable offense.

Moreover, the President has the right to question the validity of subpoenas, exert executive privilege over testimony and documents, and the right to seek judicial review. These also are not impeachable offenses.

The two articles of impeachment, Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress, are so broad and so vague as to be utterly meaningless -- definitely what the framers of the Constitution warned about when they spoke of partisan factions subverting the impeachment process.

Is this the best the House Democrats can do after three years and tens of millions of wasted taxpayer dollars?

And, they want a “mulligan” – a do-over to desperately search for meaningful evidence in the testimony and documents of the witnesses they should have called in any legitimate impeachment inquiry. Not the sham inquiry proclaimed by the Speaker of the House, Queen Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, and conducted in the basement of Congress.

Truth?

The facts are defined by what President Trump said and the actions he took, not the opinion of those facts by rank partisans who hate the president, and even worse, hate the Constitution and their country.

What we have witnessed is little more than “Impeachment by Opinion” based on nothing more substantial than redefining the U.S. Constitution by considering the “meaning of the moment.” A purely political ploy conditioned by the reality that the corrupt Democrats have nothing to offer America and all Americans other than corruption and communism wrapped up in a bright red progressive bow. No matter how they redefine their political ideology, it leads to bigger government, higher taxes, a reduced standard of living, totalitarianism, fewer personal freedoms and choices – and the type of wealth redistribution necessary to keep the ignorant masses voting against themselves.

Bottom line…

The actual abuse of power resides with the Democrats who have attempted to nullify the results of a national election and remove a constitutional officer from office. They have perpetrated a fraud on the American people and should be held accountable for their actions.

I can only pray that my fellow citizens wake up in time to remedy the situation, even if it means giving a temporary pass to the evildoers who are using their positions of power to further their own agenda and political ideology.

Strange as it may seem, it is likely that President Trump will be judged among the best presidents of the modern era and former president Barack Obama among the worst by historians.

We are so screwed.

FEINSTEIN'S FORM LETTER

Why Feinstein is not “too upset” at the Joe and Hunter Biden play in Ukraine…

df-uspsIn response to my email to my Senators, I received this response from the corrupt, stupid, and blind Dianne Feinstein…

Dear Stephen:

Thank you for contacting me regarding your opposition to the impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump. I appreciate the time you took to write, and I welcome the opportunity to respond.

On December 17, 2019, the House of Representatives voted to approve two articles of impeachment. The first article charges President Trump with abuse of power for pressuring Ukraine to announce investigations into his political rivals.

[OCS: It appears that DiFi is delusional.

One, the fact that the former Vice President, Joe Biden, is running for office does not render him immune from investigation into self-described and recorded strong-arm tactics in demanding that the President of a foreign country remove a State Prosecutor from office nor does it prevent him from being held responsible for his actions.

Two, Ukraine was investigating Burisma, a corrupt Ukrainian gas company that employed Biden’s son Hunter before the telephone call which allegedly triggered impeachment proceedings. I say alleged because the House Democrats announced that they were going to impeach the President prior to the inauguration and all through the first three years of his administration. The House Democrats never deposed the so-called whistleblower and the deposition of the Intelligence Community Inspector General remains classified and beyond the reach of the public.

Three, it appears Ukraine did not take any action prior to or subsequent to the phone call, which the so-called whistleblower mischaracterized to the point of creating a fictitious account that never happened.]

The second article charges the President with obstruction of Congress for preventing the House from securing witness testimony and documents in the impeachment inquiry.

[OCS: Exerting privilege with respect to testimony of Presidential confidants or withholding privileged documents is not an impeachable offense. Neither is seeking judicial review of subpoenas. In the case of two high-level officials, it appears that the Democrats withdrew their subpoenas to avoid a court battle.]

Only three presidents in the history of the United States have been impeached, and the Constitution requires the Senate to now conduct a fair and impartial impeachment trial overseen by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. If at least two-thirds of Senators find the President guilty, the President will be removed from office.

[OCS: There is nothing fair or impartial when the matter is hyper-partisan and individual members are held responsible to the party for their vote. Can you say mass witness tampering?]

Considering articles of impeachment is a solemn responsibility. When impeachment trials begin, every Senator swears an oath to “do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws.” That oath requires each one of us to objectively review the information presented and make an informed judgment.

[OCS: There is nothing fair or impartial about this trial since one party, the President, was denied due process and not allowed to call rebuttal witnesses. And nearly half of the Senators who sit in judgement are not impartial and have already announced that the “evidence” is overwhelming and they will be supporting the removal process.]

Importantly, the House collected a significant amount of evidence during its inquiry. However, several key witnesses were prevented from testifying, and important documents were withheld by the White House.

[OCS: The truth is that the House minority was prevented from executing their committee duties, the House majority appears complicit in witness tampering and subornation of perjury. The House does not have an unlimited right to witnesses and documents under the separation of powers doctrine and claimed privilege.]

This evidence should be available to the Senate as part of a fair and complete trial. That is why I have called on my Senate colleagues to join me in supporting Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s request for key documents and specific witnesses, all of whom have firsthand knowledge of these events.

[OCS: It the House Majority found the evidence so overwhelming and compelling that the voted to impeach the President, nothing further should be needed. To the extent they need additional evidence, points to a failure to make their case.]

You may find a copy of my letter here: https://sen.gov/feinstein/7959.

I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind as the Senate considers the articles of impeachment again President Trump. I will also continue my work in the Senate to fight hard for the priorities of Californians, advance legislation that will help all Americans, and oppose policies that would do harm to our state and our nation.

Once again, thank you for writing.  Should you have any other questions or comments, please call my Washington, D.C., office at (202) 224-3841 or visit my website at feinstein.senate.gov. You can also follow me online at YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, and you can sign up for my email newsletter at feinstein.senate.gov/newsletter.

Best regards.

Sincerely yours,
  Dianne Feinstein
         United States Senator

Bottom line …

Ask yourself why House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff refuses to call the so-called whistleblower, identified in the media as Eric Ciaramella, before the committee or release the interview with the Intelligence Community Inspector General who processed the defective complaint with a false narrative?

Ask yourself, why both Chairman Schiff and Chairman Jerome Nadler, Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, now declare that the whistleblower’s testimony is unneeded and irrelevant since President Trump declassified the transcript of the telephone call that was the subject of the whistleblower’s complaint to the Intelligence Community Inspector General?  Even though the whistleblower’s second-hand account was grossly inaccurate and the Inspector General backdated forms that removed the requirement for “first-hand” knowledge? Or why the whistleblower apparently perjured himself by not indicating contact with Adam Schiff’s committee prior to filing the complaint? Or the extent to which Adam Schiff may have suborned perjury or engaged in witness tampering?

Ask yourself, why Adam Schiff is not a fact witness in this matter considering he hired a close National Security Council colleague of the whistleblower who likely discussed the matter before bringing it to the committee? Exploring if the Schiff committee staffer and the whistleblower had a conversation months prior to any complaint discussing how to get Trump out of office?

Ask yourself, what is the relationship between Joseph Biden, Burisma Holdings, and all of the Ukrainians the whistleblower checked into the Obama White House to discuss Ukrainian corruption, Burisma Holdings, and the complications of Hunter Biden sitting as a Burisma board member on January 19, 2016?

Biden is the real scandal – and should be front and center in any impeachment proceeding. Only the Inspector General must maintain confidentiality about the whistleblower’s identity. There are no such protections when it comes to Congress, the media, or any other executive branch agencies. If the whistleblower has anything to fear, it is those who would be implicated and those who are likely to prosecute him if the facts are revealed.

There is little doubt in my mind that Diane Feinstein is one of the most corrupt, self-serving members of Congress and her machinations over the years deserve further investigation and prosecution. Of course, she has every reason to resist examining the diversion of the impeachment hearing.

We are so screwed.

TESLA: BACK TO THE FUTURE -- DOT COM II?

There is little doubt in my mind that an economic shock lies in our future. An economic shock similar to that of the dot com crash where technology stocks were not profitable, bleeding cash, and had little or no chance of survival. In fact, if not for the hype and continued injections of venture capital, many of those stocks were technically insolvent. There is also little doubt in my mind that the middlemen, those that facilitate the buying and selling of assets, will continue to draw their commissions, in one way or another, while watching the “greater fool theory” in operation. This will not be a black swan event, because any number of people can see the problem on the horizon.

THE GREATER FOOL THEORY

In matters of finance, the greater fool theory posits that there is always somebody more stupid, more gullible, and more trusting -- no matter what you own and its acquisition price -- to purchase something from you.

Of course, this is tempered by volatility (churn) which drives the market narrative and individual story, and the float that ensures one can exit the market due to a willing buyer known as the greater fool.

Tesla Tops $100 Billion as Record Run Lifts Market Value Past Volkswagen

After topping the combined value of Ford and GM earlier this month, Tesla is set to overtake Volkswagen as the second most-valuable carmaker in the world as a record run in

Tesla Inc. (TSLA) - Get Report shares surged to a fresh all-time high Wednesday, lifting Elon Musk's clean-energy carmarker past the $100 billion mark and extending a run that has taken his company past the likes of Ford, General Motors and Volkswagen in less than a decade.

Tesla shares have more than doubled over the past six months as analysts and investors re-set profit expectations for the electric car market's industry leader amid stronger-than-expected quarterly delivery figures, the ongoing expansion of production facilities in China and a more disciplined approach to communications and stewardship from founder and CEO Musk.  <Source>

To believe investors assign a value to Tesla that exceeds the valuation of companies that know how to mass-produce cars and market them worldwide is almost unbelievable. But, this is the time we are living in. There is no doubt that Elon Musk is one of the world’s best financial engineers and self-promoting businessmen. And, like Apple’s Steve Jobs, he is surrounded by a reality distortion field that allows one to suspend belief and accept what is being said at face value.

Bottom line…

Tesla vehicles are cool, expensive, and just the thing for environmental virtue signalers. Ignore the fact that batteries are significantly degraded in both hot and cold weather. Everything in Tesla is a tradeoff for vehicle range – go fast, less range; more people – less range; temperature extremes – less range; pay less – less range (dictated by software). Miss a charging station, prepare to be inconvenienced. The Auto Club does not carry fast-chargers. It is the perfect vehicle for the virtue-signaling, wealthy Silicon Valley crowd or those who want to drive an aspirational vehicle.

Just remember, everything has a natural price and resistance point. Your bet is on Elon Musk and his ability to manage others to actually execute a program with controlled costs and acceptable profit margins.

There are a number of companies like Tesla and a number of companies like the ill-fated over-valued We Work. Be careful out there. Nobody is about to tell you the truth – not the government, not your broker, and certainly not the regulatory agencies, accountants, lawyers, and consultants. The final question you might ask is: what happens when the government stops providing tax incentives and subsidies?

You are on your own.

IMPEACHMENT: THE REVENGE OF THE CITIZENS

schiff-bug-eyed

The one bright point in this entire sordid impeachment affair is the idea that Senators have been commanded to be silent upon pain of imprisonment, restricted from using electronic devices, or having anything on their desks not associated with the proceedings – AND HAVING TO LISTEN TO ADAM SCHIFF DRONE ON AND ON – SPEWING LIES AND OTHER CRUFT.

And the Senators are captive in the chamber – unable to sleep on the job.

In summary …

YADA, YADA, YADA

Just remember that every time Schiff mentions that “nobody is above the law” – think Hillary Clinton and the top officials of the Obama Administration including, and especially, former President Barack Hussein Obama who gave aid and comfort to the Iranian enemy during a time of conflict against American troops. Every dead or maimed soldier should have been an article of impeachment.

As for obstruction and cover-ups – can you say Attorneys General Eric Holder, Lorretta Lunch, and many of the top officials in the Obama Administration.

The Obama Democrats are guilty of everything that they attribute to President Trump. It is called PROJECTION.

To hear Adam Schiff mouth the words of our founders, patriots, and other great men makes me sick.

We  are so screwed.

P.S. Followed by 24-hours of Nadler, Lofgren, and the other corrupt fools.
