“The facts are uncontested. The President abused his power for his own personal political benefit at the expense of our own national security.” ~ Nancy Pelosi was telling a bald-faced, or should I say Botox-faced, lie to the American public.
18 U.S. Code § 2383. With the House Judiciary Committee meeting to decide on the selection and wording of charges that will be presented to the full House of Representatives, it might serve the House Democrats well to understand that such an action within one year of an election is prima facie evidence of partisan interference in a presidential election and a gross abuse of power by the leadership of the House Democrats.
Never before, in the history of the United States, have so many governmental and congressional resources been used to investigate a candidate, and then President of the United States – and produced nothing but hearsay, opinion, supposition, and presumption. Moreover, since the House cannot conduct criminal investigations and its investigations are limited to its legislative activities, many of the actions taken by the leadership of the House majority are unconstitutional, unprecedented, and a gross abuse of power.
Never before, in the history of the United States, has an impeachment process consumed the activities of six major committees and obstructed Congress from performing its essential sworn duties, disenfranchising 63-million voters from being represented in the impeachment process.
The facts …
The President may only be impeached for Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors – all of which exist within the context of generations of law, including common law. For Congress to take action that is de facto “unconstitutional” is to render the act of impeachment as null and void. Any member of Congress who votes to impeach President Trump without a finding of treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors is themselves guilty of violating their oath of office and abusing their power. As to the charge of bribery, it was considered bribery to pay a government official of the United States to perform a specific act. To wrongly assume the two-way nature of this act would be to deny the President the right to conduct foreign policy using “incentives” and would condemn all presidents from George Washington onward.
The fact that we have not heard direct testimony from the whistleblower who initiated the entire Ukraine matter, or that they have not been challenged by the opposition, is just another example of the abuse of power and ignoring “due process” jurisprudence stretching back to the Magna Carta.
Bottom line …
It appears, to any rational person, that the House Democrats regard the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump as secondary to the protection of former President Barack Obama whose lawless administration was rife with scandal and criminal activities, including those perpetrated by the criminal-in-chief, Hillary Clinton. How anyone can ignore the illegal activities of Hillary Clinton, the CIA, FBI, NSA, ODNI, IRS, and EPA is simply amazing. But, then again, the mainstream media abandoned all semblance of journalistic ethics and omitted or shaded any story of Democrat perfidy as if they were the media relations arm of the Democratic National Committee. In essence, yellow journalism turned red.
We are well and truly screwed.
