SUPREME COURT: IS BRET KAVANAUGH PART OF A BUSH-TRUMP DEAL?

constitution-appeaser

There is little doubt in my mind that the Bush family, including both former Presidents, and their courtiers like Karl Rove appear to hate the Trump Presidency. Primarily because his foreign and domestic successes to date highlight the weakness and inadequacy of the Bush foreign and domestic policies, and secondarily because Trump does not appear to be a “gentleman” of the old “Yale University” model. In many cases, the Bushes and the Bushies are the de facto leaders of the “Never Trump” movement and are not likely to have voted for him in the 2016 presidential election.

So one can’t help but wonder if a deal was struck between Justice Kennedy and Donald Trump regarding the timing of his retirement and who is replacement might be?

Brett Kavanaugh has the right age: at 53, he is young enough and healthy enough to serve at least 25 years.

Brett Kavanaugh has the “right” educational credentials: Georgetown Preparatory School, Bachelor of Arts from Yale, and a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.

Brett Kavanaugh has the “right” experience credentials: “Kavanaugh clerked for Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, as well as Judge Alex Kozinski of the Ninth Circuit and Judge Walter Stapleton of the Third Circuit. Prior to his Supreme Court clerkship, Kavanaugh earned a one-year fellowship in the Office of the Solicitor General of the United States, Kenneth Starr.”

Bret Kavanaugh has the “right” connections: He is married to Texan Ashley Estes who formerly served as Personal Secretary to President George W. Bush at the same time as Kavanaugh, whom she subsequently married, who served as the Senior Associate Counsel and Associate Counsel to President W. Bush. President George W. Bush nominated Kavanaugh to the D.C. Circuit on July 25, 2003.

Bottom line …

There is no doubt in my mind that Brett Kavanaugh is well-qualified to sit on the United States Supreme Court. My only question involves his fidelity to the Constitution and a worry that he will turn into someone like the Chief Justice John Roberts (a George W. Bush appointee) who has already disgraced himself with his specious rulings on the unconstitutional Affordable Care Act and has had prior health issues (seizures).

Kavanaugh appears to be a “moderate” conservative in the mold of George W. Bush, in other words, a progressive Republican.
