BERNIE SANDERS IS RIGHT: THERE IS AN OPTION FOR A FREE COLLEGE EDUCATION

Once again, I hear the progressive socialist democrats like Bernie Sanders claim that a free college education should be a right …

But the sticking point is funding – how to transfer massive amounts of taxpayer funds to the educational industry and the progressives that control them …

What enabled educational institutions to continually increase the cost of education is the very same thing that drove the mortgage meltdown. Offering government-insured loans to every person regardless of their qualifications or actual intent to obtain the education which translates into a real job that could retire their student debts. Greed abounded as schools went far beyond their role as educators, but became profitable research institutions subsidized with government grants, contracts, and other perks and privileges.

There is an answer …

And it does not involve costly brick-and-mortar institutions, over-compensated professors who may earn hundreds of thousands of dollars for few classroom obligations, and textbooks that cost hundreds of dollars but are mostly a re-hash of material that has existed for decades. It is possible to provide low-cost education to almost everyone through the use of technology.

The government already possesses the communications backbone, the servers, and the underlying infrastructure to offer quality courses online. The government already possesses the ability to offer professional-level tests for engineers, doctors, accountants, and other professions.

So it would be a rather simple matter to allow students to proceed at their own pace, test when ready, and obtain a certified quality education on demand – at little or no cost. Certainly not the tens of thousands of dollars charged by today’s educational institutions.

Unfortunately, the progressives will not go along with the program because it disintermediates the political indoctrination of an endless cadre of liberals who are produced by the assembly line of academia. The progressive waffle on-and-on about meeting the needs of “special students” or those with language or learning disabilities. It is not cruel, but realistic, to say, not everybody is prepared for an academic future nor are some students ever going to master even the educational basics. But, there is no need to reduce our educational process to the lowest common denominator while pointing to being able to compete in a global marketplace.

Already, we find that some colleges are actively penalizing Asian-Americans in the admission process merely because they are disproportionately high achievers. And according to the progressive socialist democrats, it would be a tragedy if there was no slot for the academically-challenged minority student who is likely to drop out anyway.

Bottom line …

Like many things that progressive socialist democrats demand like free education, affordable housing, clean water, cleaner air, etc., it can be done. But first, you need the political will to disintermediate the progressive socialist democrats who want to control the offering and to curb the appetites of the special interests who profit from these ventures.

In California, we find increasing tuitions at the state’s universities and colleges – many outrageously overpriced, while at the same time the state is actively building a multi-billion dollar high-speed (not even comparable to the Japanese high-speed rail system) railroad to nowhere. A venture that will eventually never pay for itself and represents a life-long sinecure for unionized workers. Turn this money into affordable housing without all of the unionized labor and underhanded deals by politically-connected developers and see what can be done. Recognizing, of course, that there are some who do not want such housing and others that will trash the housing and ruin the program for everyone.

We are so screwed – because that’s the way the politicians want it – and the people are too apathetic to demand better.

THE COMING BATTLE OVER THE SUPREME COURT

We the People are facing an existential threat. Not from nuclear powers like Russia, China, Pakistan, North Korea or even potentially Iran. But from a fifth column of fellow Americans who seek to nullify the Constitution that defines our republic, but also guarantees that your inalienable rights and freedoms are not rescinded by government fiat. These are the people who want to fundamentally transform America into a utopian paradise that ignores human behavior and thus is impossible to achieve.

They know that they cannot advance their toxic agenda at the Congressional level because few of their ilk have the courage to actually stand before the American people and share their own feelings and agenda. Full well-knowing that their un-American actions could not withstand an up-or-down vote without severe and punishing consequences.

They know that they cannot advance their toxic agenda at the Executive level because what can be accomplished by executive order can be undone by the next executive to assume the office of the president.

So they rely on the Supreme Court, none unelected men or women who are appointed for life and who can negate facets of the constitution, usurp the powers of the Congress, and rescind many of the orders of the executive branch. With no higher authority, other than themselves, to nullify the effects of their rulings. And, this is why it is crucially important for the President to nominate a strict constitutionalist that honors our constitution and concepts of our Founding Fathers. A strict constitutionalist who will not manufacture new rights out of whole cloth and protect powers belonging to the states and “we the people” when ruling on serious issues. And, why it is crucially important for the Senate to confirm the President’s choice.

So who are they?

The people who want to deny you your freedoms are the anarchists, socialists, and communists who have infiltrated and assumed control over many of our governmental and private institutions. These are the miscreants who have taken control over the Democrat Party to the extent it appears to be another branch of the international socialist/communist movement.

How they assume control …

If it is impossible for the progressive socialist democrats to obtain a majority vote, they must settle for a plurality – where the politician, party, or proposition receives more votes than the opposition, but not a clear and decisive majority.  For this to occur, they need to divide and conquer America by cultural, ethnic, religious, gender, and racial lines. Amassing power by promising each group that you will address their real or perceived grievances in return for "temporarily" surrendering their political power until better utopian times which have never come to fruition in the history of mankind. By flooding the debate with confusing or contradicting positions so that most average Americans throw up their hands and vote with their feelings rather than with informed opinion. Where everything is re-defined or turned into a “team sport.”

They distract from the actual issues by reframing the proposition in religious, racial, and emotional terms.

What is the distraction they are likely to use?

Keeping in mind that the real issue is the U.S. Constitution versus the socialist/communist agenda, look for the progressive socialist democrats to reframe the proposition in terms of women’s rights and the possibility that a strict constitutionalism might vote for the repeal of the unconstitutional Roe v. Wade ruling – a code word for abortion.

For those who are unsure of what 1973 Roe v. Wade decision (410 US 113) is and actually means, it is a rather simple matter. It is a Supreme Court ruling where the court recognized, for the first time, that the constitutional right to privacy “is broad enough to encompass a woman's decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy.” What is wrong with the ruling is that it is unconstitutional, that there is no such “right to privacy” in the U.S. Constitution and that the power to regulate pregnancies is either a states rights issue or must be a personal issue of “We the People.” 

While the progressive socialist democrats rally and riot over decisions with which they disagree, the very rarely point out that decisions made by a largely democrat-appointed courts: rulings associated with slavery (Dred Scott), segregation (Plessy vs. Ferguson), the internment of Japanese (Korematsu), and of course, the nullification of states rights in Roe v. Wade, all of which were harmful to the nation and were technically unconstitutional.

There is absolutely no indication that any given Court, no matter what its composition, will nullify Roe v. Wade or make any other startling decisions. Especially while Chief Justice Roberts is on the bench. But it is useful for the progressive socialist democrats to distract from the real battle between constitutionalism and communism to enrage and encourage its base to rally or riot.

The media is about to go crazy ...

Look for the progressive mainstream media to treat the issue of the nomination of a constitutionalist to the Supreme Court as a call to arms. Endlessly echoing progressive propaganda. Burying favorable stories on the nominee while highlighting negative stories -- even if they are based on innuendo, supposition, speculation, or anonymous sources. 

You can't count on Republicans ...

With RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) like Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, and others, one cannot count on the GOP to uphold our nation's constitution.

Bottom line …

  • It's not about global climate change.
  • It's not about clean water and clean air.
  • It's not about preexisting conditions.
  • It's not about reproductive rights.
  • It's not about gay rights. 
  • It's not about immigration.
  • It's about the constitution versus communism!

The coming battle over the Supreme Court is not between progressives and the so-called right-wing, but between those who would destroy our nation, our freedoms, our individualism in return for a strong central authority with unlimited power to supersede the Constitution which guarantees our freedoms.

We need Supreme Court Justices that will uphold our Constitution and the freedoms in guarantees. Without a similar constitution, we saw Australia disarm its citizens leaving a pile of murdered victims, we say Britain jail a protester for daring to speak out against Muslims, and over-and-over again, we see the progressive state ride roughshod over the people they claim to serve and to protect.

If a strict constitutionalist cannot find clear and unambiguous authority to act, the decision is left up to either the states or the people.

If you want to change the constitution, you need to amend the constitution, not create law out of whole cloth. 

When you hear people speaking about right-wing, alt-right, or conservative nominees, they are blowing smoke up your behind and they are dead wrong.

What we need is a strict constitutionalist who will uphold the fidelity to the constitution – nothing else.

IS MEXICO AN EXISTENTIAL THREAT ON OUR SOUTHERN BORDER?

The Mexican government is unstable, with socialist/communist/criminal influences. Mexico is exporting poverty, illiteracy, disease, crime, and an increasingly militant political force that is trying to re-create their homeland on American soil rather than assimilate into the American melting pot. Not to mention serving as a gateway for others to illegally access our country. Our country is being flooded with drugs that destroy our communities. And more and more illegal aliens who are consuming our resources without regard to the damage they are doing to our economy, our culture, and our political system.

Yet, the politicians are claiming all is well.

The progressive socialist democrats and their progressive RINO (Republican In Name Only) friends apparently see no problem with illegal aliens compromising our sovereignty, social safety nets, emergency medical assistance, or educational systems as long as the special interests have access to cheap labor and the progressive socialist democrats have access to future voters -- and those who may illegally vote in our elections with little or no threat of prosecution.  They waffle on-and-on about NAFTA, trade agreements, and the balance of payments but have little to say about money being repatriated to Mexico.

The progressive socialist democrats have little to say about the potential July 1st election of Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), an authoritarian socialist/communist in the mold of Fidel Castro, Daniel Ortega, and Hugo Chávez. A man who appears likely to grant the leadership of drug cartels a form of amnesty in return for their financing and political support. They appear to be blind to a man who wants to change Mexico’s constitutions and become El Jefe for life. He has no problem with illegal immigration and open borders. He hates NAFTA and believes it should be renegotiated. And, he has no problem with inviting the Russians and Chinese into the country to help develop natural resources.

Bottom line …

While the American Congress obsesses over trivialities like Stormy Daniels and the past corruption of  Paul Manafort and others, we have a clear and present danger looming on the horizon. Call me a bigot, xenophobic, or any other label used by the progressives to quiet their opposition. The truth remains, we have a serious and unchecked threat on our Southern border. Personally, I believe in reciprocity. We should treat illegal aliens as illegal aliens are treated in their country of origin. Imagine any American demanding welfare in Mexico, let alone attempting to work in the country without citizenship? Imagine what might happen if Americans marched and demanded Mexican citizenship?

We are screwed. And, Trump may just be the right guy, in the right place, at the right time.

CALIFORNIA MIRRORS RED CHINA: WANTS TO MONITOR SOCIAL MEDIA

There is no doubt that the progressive socialist democrats that run every facet of the State of California would like to exert greater control over the internet, specifically the social media where governmental follies, foibles, and criminal activities are exposed and debated. Hence, they are starting down the path of Red China in attempting to control the internet.

SB-1424 Internet: social media: advisory group.(2017-2018)

SECTION 1.

 

Title 14.5 (commencing with Section 3085) is added to Part 4 of Division 3 of the Civil Code, to read:

TITLE 14.5. False Information Strategic Plans 3085.The Attorney General shall, not later than April 1, 2019, establish an advisory group consisting of at least one member of the Department of Justice, Internet-based social media providers, civil liberties advocates, and First Amendment scholars, to do both of the following:

(a) Study the problem of the spread of false information through Internet-based social media platforms.

(b) Draft a model strategic plan for Internet-based social media platforms to use to mitigate the spread of false information through their platforms.

(c) Not later than December 31, 2019, present the results of the study and the model strategic plan to the Legislature, pursuant to Section 9795 of the Government Code, and to the Assembly and Senate Committees on Judiciary.

By progressive socialist democrat definition, false information is what the government says it is … and as we have seen in the past, anything that embarrasses the government or reveals a greater truth about their activities must be either false or misleading – right up to the conviction and jailing of the offending politician or the nullification of legislation in the United States Supreme Court.

SYNOPSIS

This author-sponsored bill attempts to combat the spread of "fake news" and "false information" via Internet-based social media platforms.

As introduced, the bill would have required social media websites to make certain disclosures to users about the reliability of content, including, among other things, the sources of platform content, the means by which content is ordered and displayed, whether the platform allows third parties to influence content, and whether the platform utilizes fact checkers or takes other steps to mitigate the posting of false information.

However, because the bill as introduced raised substantial constitutional and policy concerns, the author deleted those requirements.

Therefore, as recently amended, the bill would simply create an advisory group to study the problem.

Specifically, the bill requires the Attorney General, not later than April 1, 2019, to establish an advisory group consisting of at least one member of the Department of Justice, Internet-based social media providers, civil liberties advocates, and First Amendment scholars.

The advisory group would study the problem of "false information" spread through Internet-based social media platforms and draft a model strategic plan for platforms to use to mitigate the spread of false information. The group would submit the results of its study and model strategic plan to the Legislature not later than December 31, 2019.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation opposes even this bill as a "flawed" and "misguided" measure that would make government (and the private members of the advisory group) the arbiter of what is true or false.

Should the bill pass out of this Committee, it would be referred to the Assembly Committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism, and Internet Media.

Bottom line …

Ain’t California grand! Politicians lie with impunity about the budget, legislation, the condition of the State of California, the need for reducing individual freedoms and liberties, and a whole plethora of other issues. But, they want to monitor and truth check what we say.

MAXINE WATERS: THE UGLIEST FACE OF HATE AND RACISM IN AMERICA?

There is no doubt in my mind that the ugliest racist politician in America is currently California Representative Maxine Waters, a thoroughly corrupt progressive socialist democrat who views everything through the prism of exploitable racism. If one were looking for the iconic politician that represents the demagoguery and meanness of the American political system, it would be Maxine Waters.

Calling for people to harass officials and workers in the Trump Administration …

Speaking to a small group of constituents, Waters urged public incivility that borders on harassment of public officials. "If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out, and you create a crowd, and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere."

Bottom line …

There is no excuse for Waters’ self-serving outrageous behavior or her connection to the racist, anti-Semitic, anti-white, anti-America Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan. In addition to being a model of progressive socialist democrat corruption and hypocrisy, Waters is a hate monger and provocateur who should be voted out of office. Unfortunately, in the 2018 California Primary for the 43rd Congressional District, she managed to attract 71.61% (41,789) of the vote over her nearest challenger, Republican Omar Navarro, who received 14.72% (8,571) of the vote. Which says something about an electorate that does not appear to care that Waters is a corrupt Democrat demagogue or that she lives in a 4 million dollar mansion in the elitist white enclave of Hancock Park in mid-Wilshire, California.

Thank you, Maxine, for once again, demonstrating how unhinged the left is when it comes to President Trump. BTW -- did you know that Kim Jong Un has ordered the removal of most of the anti-America graffiti and posters from North Korea and replaced them with the idea of reunification and the end of the war? No, I think not because there is nothing you can say good about this president. 

The truth is simple, if Trump were to resign today, he would be among the greatest presidents in history ... and that all of the outrageous predictions of the left, had they been true, would have already happened. 

With representatives like Waters, we a truly screwed.

WALTER SHAUB: OBAMA-ERA DOUCHEBAG OF THE WEEK

For his amazing display of hypocrisy, I nominate the Obama-appointed, former Director of the United States Office of Government Ethics (January 9, 2013 to July 19, 2017), Walter Shaub, douchebag of the week for accusing President Trump’s spokesperson, Sarah Huckabee Sanders of an “ethics violation” for a tweet – while overlooking the rampant criminality, self-dealing, and ethical lapses that surrounded the Obama Administration.

A former Obama administration official has accused White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders of breaking ethics rules by confirming reports that she was kicked out of a Lexington, Virginia, restaurant by its anti-Trump owner.  Walter Shaub, who served as director of the Office of Government Ethics under President Obama before being replaced last year by President Trump, said Saturday that Mrs. Sanders violated the Code of Federal Regulations by using her official Twitter account to respond to the flurry of media coverage.

“Sarah, I know you don’t care even a tiny little bit about the ethics rules, but using your official account for this is a clear violation of 5 CFR 2635.702(a). It’s the same as if an ATF agent pulled out his badge when a restaurant tried to throw him/her out,” tweeted Mr. Shaub. The referenced section prohibits government employees from using their public office for private gain by “inducement or coercion of benefits.”

“An employee shall not use or permit the use of his Government position or title or any authority associated with his public office in a manner that is intended to coerce or induce another person, including a subordinate, to provide any benefit, financial or otherwise, to himself or to friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity,” says the section, as per the Legal Information Institute website. Rank hypocrisy …

Has there ever been a more egregious example of a public employee using their government position, title, and authority of the office “in a manner that is intended to coerce or induce another person, including a subordinate, to provide any benefit, financial or otherwise, to himself or to friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity” than Hillary Clinton who served as the United States Secretary of State (January 21, 2009 – February 1, 2013)?

And even though their actual appointments only overlapped for little less than a month, where was his warning about Hillary Clinton’s activities which continued well past the time she left office and the time she campaigned for the Presidency of the United States?

Bottom line …

What happened to Sarah Huckabee Sanders was revealed by a third-party unassociated with Sanders. And, it is a legitimate news story when someone targets a government official and their family because of the President in office.

Virtue-signaling progressive socialist democrats like Shaub are what’s wrong with out nation – a partisan hack who conveniently overlooked the corruption and criminality that swirled about him, only to emerge from the slime to throw mud on a government official doing her job.

With people like Shaub serving in high office, we are screwed.

GOP: SERIOUS MEN BY MEDIA ACCLAMATION?

In response to my George Will column, “Is Conservative Columnist George Will Experiencing a Psychotic Break?,” based on his suggestion that Republicans should not vote for the GOP in the mid-term elections, I have received a number of comments asking me, why not?

Some pointed out that GOP members of Congress have irrefutable documentary evidence of criminal activities in the Obama Administration and yet not one scandal has been seriously prosecuted with people being held accountable for their actions. Others pointed out that Trump appears afraid to demand that his Attorney General appoint a special counsel to investigate the destruction of documents, violations of the Espionage Act, obstruction of justice, and lying to federal law enforcement or resign.

How is it that the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation is still encumbered with individuals who should be facing investigators instead of being the investigators. Special Counsel Robert Mueller has a history so laden with conflicts of interests, including personal associations with key players, and has hired all of his investigators from the opposition party – why hasn’t Congress shut him down as anything he now says in his report has zero credibility.

The GOP Congress is full of serious men, or should I say, serious poseurs? Men who stand before the cameras, ask the tough questions, write damning reports – and yet, nothing seems to change. They cannot even discipline their own caucus or control those who are progressive socialist democrats but found it convenient to run as Republicans. Congress members who hop the aisle to advance the socialist agenda rather than speak about liberty and give Americans a clear choice.  Congress members who are professional politicians concerned with their personal, professional, political, and profitable futures rather than stand up for the Constitution, our Nation, and ALL of their constituency.

I feel that the situation can be summed up as: nobody is responsible and everyone and no one is to blame.

It appears that the only answer I have is, the other side is worse for our Constitution, our Nation, and “We the People.” And perhaps that is enough?

THE PROGRESSIVE SOCIALIST DEMOCRATS AND THE MEDIA HAVE SOLD OUT AMERICA

The fact that the progressive socialist democrats can no longer pretend their party’s corrupt and unconstitutional practices are not detrimental to the United States, its sovereignty, safety, and security, so they must radically and fundamentally transform the nation, its culture, and import future citizens who are willing to vote for progressives in exchange for access to the American dream and all our our social safety nets even though they have not contributed to the system to which they lay claim.

One need only ask themselves why Mexicans, who risk their lives and limbs, trying to enter this country illegally refuse to assimilate and swear allegiance to the United States of America? One need only ask themselves why Mexican flags are being flown over rallies instead of the Stars and Stripes?

One need only ask themselves why the progressive socialist democrats refuse to pass immigration reform that provides work permits, but not citizenship, and demands the use of e-verify to check the status of workers?

One need only ask themselves why American Blacks continue to support a party that has oppressed them in the inner cities and given their jobs, housing, and social benefits to illegal aliens – spreading only the equality of misery?

And one need only ask themselves why the mainstream media continues to preside over the disaster that is unfolding in front of their eyes? Where a cabal of progressives cannot be held accountable for their actions that are demonstrably unconstitutional and criminal?

Why are illegal alien children “dreamers” and our children are simply pawns of the education unions? What about jobs taken from our children?

Why are our lawyers being allowed to aid and abet illegality without being disbarred?

And, what about all of the children separated and removed from the custody of their parents during routine criminal proceedings? What rights do illegal alien parents have when they drag their children over the border?

Bottom line …

If America sucks, as the progressive and the media suggests – why are illegal aliens still crossing the border in record numbers? Why are they being allowed to recreate the shit-hole they left on American soil?

Can anybody point out anywhere in the Constitution of the United States where America is legally bound to import illiteracy, poverty, disease, crime, and an anti-America attitude to dilute the interests of legitimate law-abiding Americans and legal immigrants?

Once the facts are known, it is no longer a conspiracy. No culture or civilization can survive with open borders and unrestricted immigration.

I think we have just lost our country and that we have gone over the tipping point.

We are screwed.

IS CONSERVATIVE COLUMNIST GEORGE WILL EXPERIENCING A PSYCHOTIC BREAK?

In spite of the overwhelming evidence that the progressive socialist democrats attempted to subvert a presidential election, politicized some of the nation’s premier institutions like the IRS, CIA, DOJ, FBI, EPA etc., and the clear and present danger the progressive socialist democrats pose to democracy and to the sovereignty, safety and security of the United States of America – we find a conservative columnist, George Will, calling for the removal of the GOP in the 2018 mid-term elections.

What the hell is wrong with George Will? I know he is an elitist (Trinity College, Oxford, Princeton) and is an outspoken conservative. But what to make of his latest craziness?

Vote against the GOP this November

Amid the carnage of Republican misrule in Washington, there is this glimmer of good news: The family-shredding policy along the southern border, the most telegenic recent example of misrule, clarified something. Occurring less than 140 days before elections that can reshape Congress, the policy has given independents and temperate Republicans — these are probably expanding and contracting cohorts, respectively — fresh if redundant evidence for the principle by which they should vote.

The principle: The congressional Republican caucuses must be substantially reduced. So substantially that their remnants, reduced to minorities, will be stripped of the Constitution’s Article I powers that they have been too invertebrate to use against the current wielder of Article II powers. They will then have leisure time to wonder why they worked so hard to achieve membership in a legislature whose unexercised muscles have atrophied because of people like them.

Trump attracts, and is attracted to, louts.

In today’s GOP, which is the president’s plaything, he is the mainstream. So, to vote against his party’s cowering congressional caucuses is to affirm the nation’s honor while quarantining him. A Democratic-controlled Congress would be a basket of deplorables, but there would be enough Republicans to gum up the Senate’s machinery, keeping the institution as peripheral as it has been under their control and asphyxiating mischief from a Democratic House. And to those who say, “But the judges, the judges!” the answer is: Article III institutions are not more important than those of Articles I and II combined

Bottom line …

To sacrifice our beloved nation to the progressive socialist democrats for the sake of the ideological purity of the GOP is not only crazy, it is suicidal. President Trump may not act like past Presidents, but if you compare his opinions and actions to past presidents who have sold out their nation, he may be in closer touch with real America than anyone since former President Ronald Reagan.

Ignore this fool and let him continue to live in his Washington bubble. Perhaps someone will notice his growing disability and get him the help he appears to desperately need.

"WOKE" IS WHAT'S WRONG WITH AMERICA TODAY

I remember a time when the word “woke” was simply the incorrect tense of “awake.” Now, like most politicized and bastardized words and meanings, its usage conveys a perception of political awareness – but only of the ideology of the progressive socialist democrats.

Implied in the word’s current usage is for an individual to understand “what’s really happening,” as defined through the filter of political context. And, to acknowledge that most of what you assumed to be the truth is wrong, evil, or somehow phobic when political context is considered.

To be woke is to recognize the great injustices and disparity in today’s society and, in many cases, being aware that the remedy is to provide privileges, perks, and handouts to any class of people who have some tenuous link to historical injustice. No matter if that link is mostly non-existent in modern society and those being charged for the privilege of redressing historical grievances had nothing to do with the events and actions of their ancestors.

Being “woke” is a Marxist/Communist political ploy to bring about the class warfare that leads to chaos, anarchy, and eventually the type of revolution that installs a totalitarian government “for the good of the people.” Management by a cadre of elites – many of whom are as clueless as those who toil in academia where perception trumps reality.

Woke appears to be a convenient means for those virtue-signally individuals in academia, with virtually worthless degrees that need bias and agitation to be validated, to feel superior to those imperfect individuals who founded this country and whose work contributed to the benefit of all mankind. For it is far easier to criticize the creators or their creations than actually create something great themselves.

I find it amazing that most people will accept the ranting of individuals who view everything through the prism of their own politics, bias, and activism and then label others who do not adopt a similar view as bigots, racists, and phobes. Never once considering that they have self-identified as the real problem with modern society.

An example of the clear and present danger of this outlook can be found in the work of Dr. Paul Ernest, emeritus professor of the philosophy of mathematics education at Exeter University in the United Kingdom.

The Ethics of Mathematics: Is Mathematics Harmful? 

In this chapter I challenge the idea that mathematics is an unqualified force for good.

[OCS: Perhaps the good doctor does not understand that mathematics is simply a descriptive language, neutral in intent, that seeks to describe the nature, character, and properties of the phenomena which we encounter in our universe. It is a tool, and like any other tool, it can be used for good or evil depending on the intent of the individual wielding the implement.]

Instead I show the harm that learning mathematics can inadvertently cause unless it is taught and applied carefully.

[OCS: By “taught and applied carefully,” one assumes that Dr. Ernest is speaking about teaching the meaning of mathematics within a political context. Sort of a “woke” version of mathematics that provides legitimacy to political ideologies. Perhaps Ernest should read the Nobel Lecture of Hayek titled “The Pretense of Knowledge” in which Hayek argues that using the tools of mathematics in the social sciences may lends a degree of legitimacy and credibility which is often undeserved.]

I acknowledge that mathematics is a widespread force for good but make the novel case that there is significant collateral damage caused by learning mathematics.

I describe three ways in which mathematics causes collateral damage.

First, the nature of pure of mathematics itself leads to styles of thinking that can be damaging when applied beyond mathematics to social and human issues.  

[OCS: Ernest makes the case that the characteristics of thinking about mathematics are often “detached” and “calculated” and that “rules, abstraction, objectification, impersonality, unfeelingness, dispassionate reason, and analysis” may be harmful when interpreted or applied to human issues.] 

Second the applications of mathematics in society can be deleterious to our humanity unless very carefully monitored and checked.

“Money and thus mathematics is the tool for the distribution of wealth. It can therefore be argued that as the key underpinning conceptual tool mathematics is implicated in the global disparities in wealth.”

[OCS: The progressive professor’s true colors have been revealed with his conflation of mathematics as a conceptual tool implicit in the global disparities in wealth.

One must ask a fundamental question: Carefully monitored and checked by whom? The thought police? Political progressive ideologues who have no restraint about redefining words and concepts to fit their twisted ideology? Unelected bureaucrats of unknown origin who are inclusive and diverse in that their numbers are artificially manipulated to approximate the proportion of “their kind or class” in the general population?] 

Third, the personal impact of learning mathematics on learners’ thinking and life chances can be negative for a minority of less successful students, as well as potentially harmful for successful students.  

[OCS: It should come as no surprise that the good doctor claims that mathematics is often viewed as a “masculine” subject and therefore women can encounter difficulty in learning the subject-matter. Perhaps he should have been more inclusive and made a provision for the minorities and the poor?

Is Dr. Ernest suggesting some form of affirmative action and participation trophies to be handed out to those incapable of earning a degree in mathematics for the sole purpose of making them feel better about themselves. We have gone down this path and the incompetence of these individuals appears to be costing society a great deal as “We the People” pay for their mistakes and miscalculations.] 

I end with a recommendation for the inclusion of the philosophy and ethics of mathematics alongside its teaching all stages from school to university, to attempt to reduce or obviate the harm caused; the collateral damage of learning mathematics.

[OCS: Yes, by all means – let’s pollute the descriptive language of mathematics with political ideology much as the progressives have polluted our language with their silly words and redefinitions.]

Dr. Ernest believes, “Reasoning without meanings provides a training in ethics-free thought.” The question simply becomes one of, whose ethics are we to accept as being the valid and correct interpretation of reality as described by a mathematical equation. And, of course, the nanosecond after which the word ethics is used, the meaning is clear – ethics conditioned by the progressive ideology. An ideology which has been historically recorded to be a force for evil and the devolution of political systems into a state of anarchy or totalitarianism.

The above equation is what a real revolution looks like, it is Einstein’s Field Equation for General Relativity, and I am not quite sure how one might interpret this in a political context or impose affirmative action on its understanding.

Bottom line …

Like I said, “woke” is what’s wrong with America today. Perhaps we should “wake up” to the clear and present danger presented by the progressive socialist democrats who want to fundamentally transform our nation into a third-world culture that is no better nor worse than any other unexceptional banana republic in the world?

The idea that these progressive fools can substitute their criticism for creation will be our downfall.
