MITCH McCONNELL: THE PROGRESSIVE ENEMY WITHIN THE SENATE
Amazingly, there is a powerful progressive ghost lurking in the corridors and crannies of the United States Senate. A ghost that claims to be either conservative or centrist as the issue may demand. A man who is openly reviled as being an obstructionist by the opposition – but supports those opposition positions more often than not. That man is Mitch McConnell from Kentucky. And, from all appearances, a RINO – Republican In Name Only.
Have you ever wondered why government spending is out of control and always faced with last-minute budget crises and “must pass bills?”
Not only did Mitch McConnell allow the Senate to vote on a bill that did not exist as part of their “artificially complex” rules …
Washington at Its Worst: Senate Passes Nonexistent Bill
On Tuesday night, the Senate voted to proceed to the continuing resolution, a bill that will allegedly fund the government until Dec. 9. The only problem is that there isn’t actually a bill yet. There is no text. There is no agreement between Democrats and Republicans on what the bill will fund—Planned Parenthood, the Export-Import Bank, control of the internet—all of it remains a mystery. Yet the Senate voted 89-7 to proceed to this nonexistent bill. <Source>
McConnell sold out conservative spending principles and set up a “dangerous” lame duck session of Congress where outgoing Senators are not responsible to their respective constituents …
Provisions of this horrible piece of legislature:
- Funds the government for ONLY 69 days at the profligate and unchecked spending level set by former Speaker of the House John Boehner.
- Produces another congressional crisis that results in a “must pass” spending bill or risk shutting down the government – although most of the government stays open and only thing that annoy citizens are shut down for political rather than operational purposes.
- Enlarges the government by giving already well-funded agencies even more funding and permits the outgoing administration to hire more embedded bureaucrats to pursue a radical progressive socialist democrat agenda during the next administration. These are the entrenched opposition bureaucrats that administratively thwart, sabotage, or slow-walk the new administration’s reforms of a already broken and corrupt political system. Ever wonder why obvious wrongdoing by a previous administration is not investigated and punished – ask the embedded opposition in the regulatory agencies.
- Does not address the internet turnover to a so-called “multi-stakeholder” community that includes sworn enemies of the United States.
- Does nothing to stop the funding of Planned Parenthood or giving the nation’s largest provider of abortions new funding to deal with the Zika virus outbreak.
How they are selling this outrage …
Agreement Maintains Government Operations through Dec. 9, Provides Funding for Veterans, Zika Virus Fight, Disaster RecoveryWASHINGTON, D.C – The Senate Appropriations Committee today released a short-term continuing appropriations measure to maintain government operations through Dec. 9, 2016.
The short-term continuing resolution (CR) package includes the FY2017 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs (MilCon-VA) Appropriations Bill and also provides $1.1 billion in supplemental funding to combat the Zika virus. The bill also makes $500 million available to address immediate disaster recovery needs in Louisiana and other states.
“This continuing resolution will maintain government operations while we work toward completing the FY2017 appropriations process. It will ensure stability for our men and women in uniform, continue important security and law enforcement programs, and respond to pressing issues such as Zika and disaster recovery. I encourage its adoption,” said Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Thad Cochran (R-Miss.).
The CR maintains discretionary funding at a rate of $1.067 trillion and Overseas Contingency Operations funding at a rate of $74.096 billion. The FY2017 MilCon-VA Appropriations Act will fund the Department of Veterans Affairs, military construction, and family housing priorities through the end of FY2017. Enactment of this bill, which provides record funding for veterans, would mark the first time since 2009 that a regular appropriations bill has been signed into law before the end of the fiscal year. The $1.1 billion in supplemental emergency funding will allow the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Agency for International Development to combat the Zika virus domestically and internationally. This is the same amount approved by the Senate in May, and included in the conference report repeatedly filibustered by Senate Democrats. The funding in the Zika supplemental is subject to Hyde Amendment restrictions. The agreement does not include a provision that would have suspended duplicative EPA permitting requirements for mosquito control.
The package also provides $500 million in supplemental funding in response to severe flooding in Louisiana and other states. These Community Development Block Grant funds will be available to meet immediate recovery needs. The agreement to include disaster relief assistance for Louisiana was aided by the work of U.S. Senator Dr. Bill Cassidy, the only Louisiana delegation member serving on an appropriations committee.
The CR would also provide a higher rate of operations for the Department of Justice and the Department of Health and Human Services to begin implementation of the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA), and directs the Department of Veterans Affairs to implement that Act using FY2017 funds.
A limited number of “anomalies,” which are programmatic or funding changes related to unique situations arising during the duration of the CR, are incorporated in the legislation. Among them are additional funding and authorities related to the transition and inauguration of the incoming Presidential administration. The legislation rescinds $400 million in funding and returns that funding to the federal treasury.

Bottom line …
Once again, Mitch McConnell sells out his party and his nation on behalf of the progressive socialist democrats. And, no matter how much money is spent by this current administration, it will be peanuts if Hillary Clinton is elected to office and allowed to continue the dangerous foreign and domestic policies of Barack Obama. Perhaps “We the people” should just give her a few billion to stay home. It will be cheaper and safer in the long run.
DO NOT VOTE FOR HILLARY CLINTON, A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER TO AMERICA AND ALL AMERICANS.
