NASA’S CAPTIVE GRAVITATIONAL ORBIT

What the hell happened to the NASA of my youth, the much admired space agency that put a man on the moon and engaged in so many wonderful and productive projects?

Why are they playing politics? Engaging in Muslim outreach? Dabbling in the false narratives of global climate change? Pontificating on earthquakes in Los Angeles? All the while we are paying the Russians hundreds of millions of dollars to transport our astronauts to the International Space Station and outsourcing much of our launch vehicle capabilities to companies that will be the sole owner of proprietary technologies that can be ransomed for a veritable fortune?

NASA says MASSIVE earthquake is '99.9 per cent' likely to rock LA -- A HUGE earthquake is 99.9 per cent likely to hit Los Angeles within the next two years, scientists from NASA have said.

NASA is virtually certain of an earthquake

The group’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena have warned a series of mini-tremors beneath the surface of the City of Angels have caused pressure to build-up. In 2014, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit the town of La Habra in southern California and the experts from NASA say that there is still some left over strain from that, which will almost definitely hit before April 2018. JPL geophysicist Dr. Andrea Donnellan said: “When the La Habra earthquake happened, it was relieving some of that stress, and it actually shook some of the upper sediments in the LA basin and moved those a little bit more.

“There’s enough energy stored to produce about a magnitude 6.1 to 6.3 earthquake.”

Dr. Donnellan and her colleagues reached the conclusion that an LA quake is almost inevitable after using radar and GPS to track all tremors in LA.  They then measured the probability of an earthquake striking within the 60 mile radius of LA and reached the conclusion than an Earthquake of 5.0 or higher will strike the southern Californian city.

However, Robert Graves, a US Geological Survey (USGL) seismologist and Southern California coordinator for earthquake hazards, has cast his doubts about the study from JPL. Mr. Graves said: “The 99.9 per cent number – I don’t know the method that was used to derive that. But basically, that's saying that’s going to happen. “And that level of certainty, to my knowledge, is just not attainable. We can never be that certain.”

This appears to be one of those self-serving media statements from a politicized public agency that is seemingly based on the fact that it is five o’clock somewhere in the world. Like the NASA global climate change activists declaring that we are experiencing climate change when the truth is that the climate is always changing.

Bottom line …

It is time to de-politicize NASA and return it to its original mission of space exploration. It is also time to start rebuilding our space infrastructure to compensate for all of those wonderful men and women we have lost over the past decades due to retirement and public policies that defunded space and science in favor of funding social services for illegal aliens and the wealth redistribution that saw billions transferred to corrupt foreign entities with little or nothing other than a photo-op and media release as a benefit. How about if we gave the Iranian money to NASA instead of religious lunatics who are building nuclear-capable ICBMs (InterContinental Ballistic Missiles) to strike America?

And, I expect that NASA would be further decimated under the leadership of a Hillary (heaven forbid) Clinton presidency.

We are so screwed.
