THE DISINGENUOUS BATTLE OF IDEAS: HUMAN SUPREMACY

re

It appears that the progressive socialist democrats, also known as the neo-communists, are trying to convince mankind that there is a group of superior, enlightened beings on Earth that should be given perpetual power over all rather unexceptional population units (people) to preserve the integrity of the planet and to conserve resources for future generations. Unfortunately, there are factors that illustrate their moral and intellectual bankruptcy.

One, we have seen the historical abuse of concentrated power at the top of societal organizations and in the case of idealists, academics, socialists, and communists, it has led to the death and misery of millions of people. That the truism “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely” has never been truer. The first objective of those in power is to perpetuate and extend their power – mandating every increasing punishments for every deviation – that leads to a police state and the loss of all unalienable rights. The only outcome is a bloody revolution that may or may not succeed; sometimes resulting in the installation of an even greater dictator. Illustrated by the darlings of the left: Che Guevara and Fidel Castro. Under this toxic and malignant ideology, individualism must be destroyed in favor of the collective. Where groupthink leads to compounding and cascading disasters.

Two, the progressive socialist democrats accrete power by creating real or artificial scarcities which they then purport to manage on behalf of the collective. They  dole out power, perks, privileges, and power to those who assist them in gaining and maintaining power. Thus political corruption is institutionalized and given the protection of the law. Where judges and juries are the ideological enforcers of the political system regardless of truth, justice, or even logic. One need only look at the ideologically-corrupted Supreme Court to see that nine people (now eight) have usurped the sole law-making provision of Congress and the administrative duties of the Executive Branch to become a law unto themselves. Where they are mandated to rule on the constitutionality of existing law, resulting in upholding previous court decisions or returning them to a lower court for further action or allowing Congress to redress the grievance, they set up “bright line” tests and guidelines that become de facto law used to judge citizens who had zero input into the decision-making process. The progressive socialist democrats have created such a mass of confusing, conflicting, and downright illogical laws, that they have effectively criminalized all of human behavior – a weapon that can be selectively at will to maintain the rulers power base against rivals.

Three, the idea that man can affect the dynamics of the planet and overcome nature’s inherent rules is demonstrably and patently absurd. And ever since the socialists and communists have infiltrated the environmental movement to gain funding and political power, it has been a push for universal governance based on the management of resources. Managing healthcare to control individuals and managing energy to control economies. This perversion of science has led to the death and suffering of millions. One need only look at the progressive’s campaign against the chemical DDT which was used to eradicate and control disease-bearing mosquitos to see that the political corruption of science crated a man-made catastrophe that is even greater than the Holocaust and the actions of socialist and communist dictators.

So now we come to a new book review that is not only morally and intellectually bankrupt, but represents all that is bad with corrupt ideologies and educational charlatans … [My comments in bracketed blue italics.]

The Conservative Belief in Human Supremacy Is Destroying Our Planet -- Human supremacism is morally indefensible.

By Derrick Jensen / Seven Stories Press

The following is an excerpt from the new book The Myth of Human Supremacy by Derrick Jensen (Seven Stories Press, 2016):

"The modern conservative [and, I would say, the human supremacist] is engaged in one of man’s oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness." —John Kenneth Galbraith

[You will note that the author has inserted his own thoughts into the quote and extended its meaning beyond that which was intended by the author. Thus corrupting the integrity of the quote and conferring unearned referential authority to the author. The author could have argued his point without corrupting the quote – thus exploring the color and context of the author’s actual meaning rather than simply hijacking the quote for his own purposes.]

I’m sitting by a pond, in sunlight that has the slant and color of early fall. Wind blows through the tops of second-growth redwood, cedar, fir, alder, willow. Breezes make their way down to sedges, rushes, grasses, who nod their heads this way and that. Spider silk glistens. A dragonfly floats a few inches above the water, then suddenly climbs to perch atop a rush.

A family of jays talks among themselves.

I smell the unmistakable, slightly sharp scent of redwood duff, and then smell also the equally unmistakable and also slightly sharp, though entirely different, smell of my own animal body.

A small songbird, I don’t know who, hops on two legs just above the waterline. She stops, cocks her head, then pecks at the ground.

Movement catches my eye, and I see a twig of redwood needles fall gently to the ground. It helped the tree. Now it will help the soil.

Someday I am going to die. Someday so are you. Someday both you and I will feed—even more than we do now, through our sloughed skin, through our excretions, through other means—those communities who now feed us. And right now, amidst all this beauty, all this life, all these others—sedge, willow, dragonfly, redwood, spider, soil, water, sky, wind, clouds—it seems not only ungenerous, but ungrateful to begrudge the present and future gift of my own life to these others without whom neither I nor this place would be who we are, without whom neither I nor this place would even be.

Likewise, in this most beautiful place on Earth—and you do know, don’t you, that each wild and living place on Earth is the most beautiful place on Earth—I can never understand how members of the dominant culture could destroy life on this planet. I can never understand how they could destroy even one place.

[Perhaps if the author spent a little more time exploring and examining the nature which he describes, he would see that nature’s plan appears to be a self-sustaining and self-regulating integrated system of violent death and destruction followed by renewal. Where there exists a natural food chain and many life-altering mechanisms (e.g. viruses, natural disasters, etc.) are beyond human control. Where human intervention appears to be little more than a contribution to the overall scheme of things. The author is not ignorant of the food chain as he acknowledges its existence. And, then goes on to question man’s motives in  using what nature has provided to advance his own preservation and growth – as if that somehow was antithetical to nature’s plan as it has been revealed to the select and enlightened few.]

Last year someone from Nature [sic] online journal interviewed me by phone. I include the sic because the journal has far more to do with promoting human supremacism—the belief that humans are separate from and superior to everyone else on the planet—than it has to do with the real world.

[Sentience, self-awareness, and our capacity to use tools (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) to extend the physicality of our existence to longer-life, living in hostile environments, and acting as a good and honest steward for that which we have been given by nature does set us as being separate and superior to other life-forms on the planet. How arrogant is this author to ascribe his moral and political motivations to a respected journal that is about investigation, exploration, and explanation of naturally-occurring events.]

Here is one of the interviewer’s “questions”: “Surely nature can only be appreciated by humans. If nature were to cease to exist, nature itself would not notice, as it is not conscious (at least in the case of most animals and plants, with the possible exception of the great apes and cetaceans) and, other than through life’s drive for homeostasis, is indifferent to its own existence. Nature thus only achieves worth through our consciously valuing it.”

[This is not a controversial or especially profound thought, it is a statement of fact. It appears to be little more than a statement similar to the old question, “"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" A thought experiment on the perception and understanding of nature’s actions. Similar to the science fiction idea of a rock being a living creature with limited spatial mobility and operating in a different time frame. We do not perceive anything special about rocks – so they go mostly unnoticed until we stub our toe or they create some disturbance in our world.]

At the precise moment he said this to me, I was watching through my window a mother bear lying on her back in the tall grass, her two children playing on her belly, the three of them clearly enjoying each other and the grass and the sunshine. I responded, “How dare you say these others do not appreciate life!” He insisted they don’t.

[A scientist might say that their bears are playing out their evolutionary role and engaging in nurturing behavior. Going beyond that observation to claim that the bears are qualitatively or quantitatively aware of their surroundings and express an enjoyment other than the absence of predators or dangerous conditions is to anthropomorphize animals, in essence giving them human characteristics including the dangerous assumption of self-awareness and shared human values like enjoyment.]

I asked him if he knew any bears personally. He thought the question absurd.

This is why the world is being murdered.

[Murder? The unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another? Perhaps the lack of precision with which the author chooses and uses his words is symptomatic and expressive of his beliefs. The author has made a unjustified leap of logic and has just anthropomorphized the entire world. The world is an ecosystem that is governed mostly by nature’s rules and man’s impact on the planet is both local and transitory. Whether or not man will really have the power to destroy the planet is questionable. But, man does have the power to destroy the species, our own included. Perhaps why unchecked viral experiments are so dangerous – especially in these politically corrupt times when science has been corrupted by activism and the weaponization of its findings to convey an advantage to a particular political entity.

***

Unquestioned beliefs are the real authorities of any culture. A central unquestioned belief of this culture is that humans are superior to and separate from everyone else. Human supremacism is part of the foundation of much of this culture’s religion, science, economics, philosophy, art, epistemology, and so on.

[The problem with the author’s assertion of the unquestioned belief of supremacy over lesser life forms appears to be rendered moot by nature. We are demonstrably superior to and separate from  in that we can shape our lives and destinies in ways that lesser inhabitants of the planet can not. If the author is speaking about people being separate and superior to other people – than that is a moral and political question; not exactly a concern of an unfeeling, uncaring nature that is regulating the planet’s affairs. If one were to look closely, one would find that religion is simply another political tool for a few to control the many. And, in its purest form, religion is little more than a codified system of laws for living our lives in a socially acceptable manner. Like all things man-made and political, religion can be corrupted for the use of self-serving acolytes.]

Human supremacism is killing the planet. Human supremacists—at this point, almost everyone in this culture—have shown time and again that the maintenance of their belief in their own superiority, and the entitlement that springs from this belief, are more important to them than the well-being or existences of everyone else. Indeed, they’ve shown that the maintenance of this self-perception and entitlement are more important than the continuation of life on the planet.

[If the author was morally and intellectually honest, he would not be using nature in a straw-man argument. The truth is simple, if anything is “killing the planet” it is the corrupt politics which weaponizes environmentally-unfriendly agents or engages in the wanton slaughter of fellow human beings for political reasons having little or nothing to do with preserving the planet. The idea that we can sit idly by and chat about the destruction of the rainforests while we see the Muslims engaged in widespread ethnic cleansing is symptomatic of the paucity of moral and intellectual rigor. But, who other than the Muslims are asserting that their religion and religion-based politics is manifestly supreme over all religions, people, and political systems. The widespread destruction of historical monuments, the pollution of the ground with nerve agents, does not seem to be a concern of the environmentalists who are decrying the use of incandescent light bulbs as energy hogs.

The problem is political corruption. In particular, the progressive socialist democrats who are trying to gain perpetual power by balkanizing the population and assigning real or imagined grievances to each class – and, in return for granting the progressives political power, they will address these grievances. Thus the use of the concept that supremacists are to be demonized and that the use of the false “nature” narrative will somehow shield the progressives from the bankruptcy of their political motives.

Perhaps the author should have extended his thoughts about the “continuation of life on the planet” to the continuation of life, as we currently know it and wish it to be.]

Until this supremacism is questioned and dismantled, the self-perceived entitlement that flows from this supremacism guarantees that every attempt to stop this culture from killing the planet will fail, in great measure because these attempts will be informed and limited by this supremacism, and thus will at best be ways to slightly mitigate harm, with the primary point being to make certain to never in any way question or otherwise endanger the supremacism or entitlement.

[Notice that the author has already come to the pre-ordained conclusion that examining the question of “this supremacism” will lead to accepting the author’s assumptions, conclusions, and prescriptions. Perhaps examining the issue will prove my point. That the author’s argument about nature’s hierarchy can be falsified by simple observation and that the real problem facing man is a corrupt political system. Now, if the author wants to debate cultural supremacy, that is another worthwhile and useful conversation that is needed to save millions of lives currently at risk from toxic ideologies, both secular and religious.]

In short, people protect what’s important to them, and human supremacists have shown time and again that their sense of superiority and the tangible benefits they receive because of their refusal to perceive others as anything other than inferiors or resources to be exploited is more important to them than not destroying the capacity of this planet to support life, including, ironically, their own.

[The author states a truism: that people act in their own self-interests, often to the exclusion of the rights of others. Forgetting about the author’s specious anthropomorphization of the planet, perhaps we should look more closely at the motives of those who purport and avow that they are serving the common good or acting on behalf of “the people.” Again, a circular argument that returns us to those who are trying to demonize the idea of supremacy, to promote their own ideological agenda. (e.g. the corruption of politics)]

***

Especially because human supremacism is killing the planet, but also on its own terms, human supremacism is morally indefensible. It is also intellectually indefensible. Neither of which seems to stop a lot of people from trying to defend it.

[Again, the author’s assumption that “human supremacism is killing the planet” and that it is both morally and intellectually indefensible is flawed. The author continues to conflate and confuse natural law and political actions. And, that man somehow owes it to nature to promote a particular political ideology that nature neither recognizes nor supports.]

The first line of defense of human supremacism is no defense at all, literally. This is true for most forms of supremacism, as unquestioned assumptions form the most common base for any form of bigotry: Of course humans (men, whites, the civilized) are superior, why do you ask? Or more precisely: How could you possibly ask? Or even more precisely: What the hell are you talking about, you crazy person? Or more precisely yet, an awkward silence while everyone politely forgets you said anything at all.

[Danger: We are now entering the land and language of the progressive socialist democrats and extending the “planetary” argument to include that of Marxist class warfare. The very mechanism which the progressives use to accrete political power.]

Think about it: if you were on a bus or in a shopping mall or in a church or in the halls of Congress, and you asked the people around you if they think humans are more intelligent than or are otherwise superior to cows or willows or rivers or mushrooms or stones (“stupid as a box of rocks”), what do you think people would answer? If you said to them that trees told you they don’t want to be cut down and made into 2x4s, what would happen to your credibility? Contrast that with the credibility given to those who state publicly that you can have infinite economic (or human population) growth on a finite planet, or who argue that the world consists of resources to be exploited. If you said to people in this culture that oceans don’t want to be murdered, would these humans listen? If you said that prairie dogs are in no way inferior to (or less intelligent than) humans, and you said this specifically to those humans who have passed laws requiring landowners to kill prairie dogs, would they be more likely to laugh at you or agree with you? Or do you think they’d be more likely to get mad at you? And just think how mad they’d get if you told them that land doesn’t want to be owned (most especially by them). If you told them there was a choice between electricity from dams and the continued existence of salmon, lampreys, sturgeon, and mussels, which would they choose? Why? What are they already choosing?

[The basis of capitalism is the recognition on unalienable rights – those rights of freedom and action that cannot be given or taken by the government, property rights to be exploited by its owners, and that individualism is a superior concept to collectivism – especially under the enlightened elites who become dictators and oppressors over time. Thus we see an assault on capitalism, property rights, the Constitution, the rule of law, the civil society, and the infrastructure that supports the capitalist paradigm.

Let us examine the stupidity of the author by noting that the progressive socialist democrats are deliberately reducing our standard of living and affecting our food supply by tinkering with the environment. Shutting off water to central valley farms, killing agriculture, killing jobs, and destroying families to protect a worthless fish of no known scientific value. Weaponizing environmental law to be used against the very people it purports to represent. Pretending carbon dioxide is a pollutant and raising the costs of energy for everyone, but especially impacting the poor and minorities who these useful idiots purport to support.]

***

This is too abstract. Here is human supremacism. Right now in Africa, humans are placing cyanide wastes from gold mines on salt licks and in ponds. This cyanide poisons all who come there, from elephants to lions to hyenas to the vultures who eat the dead. The humans do this in part to dump the mine wastes, but mainly so they can sell the ivory from the murdered elephants.

[Excuse me! I’m not doing this. America is not doing this. This is being done by degenerates and dictators who are mostly socialists and communists. This is a political problem. This is being done by an oppressed people who are forced to mine natural resources in order to provide for themselves and their families. Little of this wealth is provided to the people, it is siphoned off by the politicians and their special interests. And, if you want to look at corrupt mining practices, why isn’t the Chinese embassy being bombarded with protests? Or why isn’t the author hectoring the Chinese to reform their “communist” system?]

Right now a human is wrapping endangered ploughshares tortoises in cellophane and cramming them into roller bags to try to smuggle them out of Madagascar and into Asia for the pet trade. There are fewer than 400 of these tortoises left in the wild.

[Go talk to the rich Asians who support these activities. China is a gross polluter of the world and yet it is America that must change.]

Right now in China, humans keep bears in tiny cages, iron vests around the bears’ abdomens to facilitate the extraction of bile from the bears’ gall bladders. The bears are painfully “milked” daily. The vests also serve to keep the bears from killing themselves by punching themselves in the chest.

[Again, not my problem. It is a political and cultural problem that has existed for centuries in Asian cultures. There will always be those who use scarcity to drive the prices up – another rule of human nature: supply and demand. And nothing Americans can do will stop the practice. But, then again, the progressives are promoting a one world government where internationalism supersedes national sovereignty. And, if you speak of internationalism and point out that the majority of the United Nations is ignores human rights, is corrupt and is governed by despots and bigots, you are ignored.]

Right now there are fewer than 500 Amani flatwing damselflies left in the world. They live along one stream in Tanzania. The rest of their home has been destroyed by human agriculture.

This year has seen a complete collapse of monarch butterfly populations in the United States and Canada. Their homes have been destroyed by agriculture.

Right now humans are plowing under and poisoning prairies. Right now humans are clearcutting forests. Right now humans are erecting mega-dams. Right now because of dams, 25 percent of all rivers no longer reach the ocean.

And most humans couldn’t care less.

[So? This is nature – species mutate, adapt, seek new habitat, or die. That humans owe it to an uncaring and indifferent nature to save these species is a ludicrous idea. We are part of nature and its system of natural threats. Nothing more, nothing less.]

Right now the University of Michigan Wolverines football team is hosting the Minnesota Golden Gophers. More than 100,000 humans are attending this football game. More than 100,000 humans have attended every Michigan home football game since 1975. There used to be real wolverines in Michigan. One was sighted there in 2004, the first time in 200 years. That wolverine died in 2010.

More people in Michigan—“The Wolverine State”—care about the Michigan Wolverines football team than care about real wolverines.

This is human supremacism.

[No! This is nature. This is progress. This is corrupt politics. This is corrupt people trying to capitalize on nature to push their own corrupt and toxic ideology. One might consider that the progressives who worship socialism, communism, Cuba, Venezuela, Russia, and China have watched the death and suffering of millions of human beings with less regard than they give to turtles, butterflies, and wolverines. (If you want to see wolverines, a form of weasel, try looking in the high country of Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Washington Stat, Alaska, Canada, Siberia and elsewhere where the can be found in greater abundance.)]

***

I just got a note from a friend who was visiting her son. She writes, “Yesterday morning when I emptied the compost bucket, the guy next door called out to ask if that was ‘garbage’ I was putting on the pile. I told him it was ‘compost.’ We went back and forth a couple of times. Then he said, ‘We don’t want no [sic] animals around here. I saw a raccoon out there. There were never any animals around here before.’

What better statement of human supremacism?”

[No! The neighbor was probably, and rightly, concerned about attracting disease-bearing rodents or wildlife harmful to his private property. Left unchecked and under the protection of the law, rodent and animal populations have grown out of control. And yes, human interests supersede those of the indigenous animals. A morally, intellectually, and religiously defensible position.]

***

Recently, scientists discovered that some species of mice love to sing. They “fill the air with trills so high-pitched that most humans can’t even hear them.” If “the melody is sweet enough, at least to the ears of a female mouse, the vocalist soon finds himself with a companion.”

Mice, like songbirds, have to be taught how to sing. This is culture, passed from generation to generation. If they aren’t taught, they can’t sing.

So, what is the response by scientists to these mice, who love to sing, who teach each other how to sing, who sing for their lovers, who have been compared to “opera singers”?

Given what the ideology of human supremacism does to people who otherwise seem sane, we shouldn’t be surprised to learn that the scientists wanted to find out what would happen if they surgically deafened these mice. And we shouldn’t be surprised to learn that the mice could no longer sing their operas, their love songs. The deafened mice could no longer sing at all. Instead, they screamed.

And who could blame them? This is human supremacism.

[Is the author ignoring decades of medical miracles that have come from physiological and psychological animal experimentation? Is the author, once again, romanticizing and anthropomorphizing animals and turning lab animals into pets?]

<snip>

Or there’s this. I just saw a snuff video of scientists pouring molten aluminum into an anthill to reveal the shape of the tunnels. Then the scientists marveled at the beauty of the shape of the anthill they just massacred to the last ant.

This is human supremacism.

[No! This is legitimate and valid scientific inquiry with a purpose, not the callous and unmerited infliction of torture upon defenseless animals as the author might have you believe. There are ant problems that cause untold suffering in third-world populations and they are routinely irradiated as unwanted and dangerous pests – not even serving the purpose of scientific inquiry.]

***

Or there’s this. The air around the world has recently been declared to be as carcinogenic as secondhand smoke. The leading cause of lung cancer is now industrial pollution.

This is human supremacism.

[No! This is bastardization of the environment by gross polluters who have been given a pass by their corrupt politicians and their special interests who profit from selling pollution indulgences for profit and tax purposes – and then decry the actions of the gross polluters. This is political corruption. Nobody is against curtailing the pollution of the air, water, and land – except the politicians who want to monetize environmental regulations.]

Derrick Jensen is an author and environmental activist. His latest book is The Myth of Human Supremacy (Seven Stories Press, 2016).

About the author Derrick Jensen …

This is not the first time I have encountered a well-credentialed (Colorado School of Mines: Mineral Engineering Physics) radical activist author with extremist views.  It appears that Jensen’s viewpoint is extreme, at the very least, as he believes that society should confer “personhood” (legal-babble to provide human-like rights under the law) on plants and animals.

Derrick Jensen is primarily an advocate for indigenous peoples and wild nature, and an opponent of civilization, rejecting the notion that it can ever be an ethical or sustainable model for human society.

His discourse often, thus, explores the psychopathology of the entire modern society towards a conclusion that civilization and its global, industrial economy is fundamentally at odds with and obliterating healthy relationships, the natural environment (including numerous forms of life and their habitats), and indigenous ways of life.

An outspoken critic of human supremacy, Jensen adheres to a form of non-anthropocentrism: perhaps, ultimately, ecocentrism. First, his ethics advocates for humans to actively support the flourishing of entire natural communities and their many individual species, rather than the flourishing of humans alone. Second, his ethics extends the status of personhood to all organisms and ecosystems, particularly including non-human animals and plants.

Accordingly, he urgently exhorts readers and audiences to help bring an end to industrial civilization, promoting its dismantling by any means necessary, thus challenging pacifism, since he believes that violence may be justified at times, particularly as a form of self-defense or resistance against oppression.  <Source>

Bottom line …

Only time will tell whether or not Jensen and/or his followers may turn violent and become violent radicals like Ted Kaczynski (UNABOMBER). Kaczynski, a uber-smart math prodigy, engaged in a “nationwide bombing campaign against people involved with modern technology.

Why the far left media continues to give widespread attention to this type of philosophy says more about creating anarchy, confusion, and chaos in order to bring about their revolutionary utopia than it says bout preserving and protecting the environment.

We are so screwed.

IS THE ADMINISTRATION TRYING TO DISTRACT, DEFLECT, AND DELAY CONSEQUENCES OF OBAMACARE BEYOND ELECTION AGAIN?

With the announcement that many of the Obamacare exchanges are failing, insurers are withdrawing from the marketplace, and the affordable care act is about to get unaffordable for many, the government is proposing another layer of administrative rules and regulations to patch the system in order to make it more attractive to insurers, regardless if it actually lowers costs and benefits the patients. As I have commented before, you cannot introduce 20 million new patients into the system without raising the costs to compensate for the lack of facilities, physicians, support personnel, and medical equipment. Even worse, you cannot deal with a declining enrollment in a wealth redistribution Ponzi scheme that sees newer and younger enrollees paying for the healthcare of older enrollees.

rxsss

How appropriate it seems to receive a blog communiqué from the weirdly-titled “CEO of the Marketplace” – when it should be “Czar of the Marketplace” in accordance with the progressive socialist democrats who designed this monstrosity in secret, without one member of the opposition party, and passed it using a Senate rules trick designed by the despicable Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

You will notice that they do not do anything to prevent individual area (state and county) monopolies by permitting competition across the board, but simply propose more administrative regulations to screw Americans.

  • Notice Item 1 – the modification of risk adjustments for enrollees who do not stay with their insurer for the full year. Will this hamper coverage for those who are forced to move because of financial or family circumstances?
  • Notice Item 2 – the rule that would allow insurers to collect and examine your prescription drug use before the accept your enrollment.
  • Notice Item 3 – the rule that would mandate that an enrollee’s medical costs be shared among issuers. This would happen normally if all insurers were allowed to create competitive national pools.
  • Notice Item 4 – this is the rule would perfect the government scam. “to ensure that issuers can have confidence in the program as they design products to attract all types of consumers.”
  • Notice Item 10 – “outreach is a government code word for diverting funds to the media and their favorite organizations to engage in advertising.

Here is what they are saying …

Taking Action Now for a Stable Marketplace for the Long-Term

August 29 by CMS

By Kevin Counihan, CEO of the Marketplace

As we get ready for 2017 Open Enrollment and look to the future, one of our most important tasks is to continue to build a strong Health Insurance MarketplaceSM, where the millions of Americans who rely on the Marketplace can continue to find affordable plans that meet their needs. That is why today we are announcing a proposed rule with clear, substantive improvements that would help issuers deliver more affordable choices to consumers and will help strengthen the Marketplace for years to come.  These proposed actions and others we have taken over the last six months would help to: support issuers with high-cost enrollees, while updating risk adjustment; strengthen the risk pool; promote additional enrollment; and support issuers in entering the Marketplace or growing their Marketplace business.  While some of these changes are proposed for 2018, others could begin in 2017.  And other, related improvements are already underway.

Supporting Issuers with High-Cost Enrollees and Updating Risk Adjustment for Everyone

Prior to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions were locked out of health insurance, and one of the core tenets of the ACA has been that people with pre-existing conditions finally have access to the coverage they need. The ACA’s risk adjustment program plays an important role in ensuring that issuers have both the incentives and the financial support to design products to serve all Americans, and today’s rule proposes significant actions to strengthen the risk adjustment program. These changes will support issuers in serving the highest cost enrollees while also seeking to make risk adjustment more predictable and more effective at spreading risk for all issuers.  Specifically:

  1. Beginning with the 2017 benefit year, the rule proposes a modification to risk adjustment regarding the cost of enrollees who do not stay with an issuer for the full plan year.
  2. In order to help reflect enrollees with serious conditions like Hepatitis C, HIV, or others, the rule proposes to use prescription drug utilization data as a source of information about enrollee’s health and the severity of their conditions beginning with the 2018 benefit year.
  3. The rule also proposes to modify risk adjustment as to costs associated with the most expensive enrollees. Under this proposal, a portion of costs exceeding $2 million for an individual would be shared among issuers. This type of risk sharing would reduce uncertainty for issuers who are not yet able to reliably predict the prevalence and nature of high-cost cases.
  4. The proposed rule also asks for comment on a number of approaches for addressing the costs of healthier enrollees. Our goal is to update risk adjustment for all types of enrollees, to ensure that issuers can have confidence in the program as they design products to attract all types of consumers.
  5. Lastly, separate from the risk adjustment program, we are seeking comment on whether and how to further support the successful transition of former Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP) Program enrollees into the Marketplace to ensure that they do not experience a lapse in coverage.

These proposals would bring more certainty into the Marketplace, as they would enable issuers to account for the risk of all enrollees in their bottom line, while continuing to ensure that all Americans have access to the care they need.

Strengthening the Marketplace Risk Pool

Along with helping issuers cover enrollees with more serious health needs, we also recognize the importance of balancing the mix of enrollees in the Marketplace risk pool. Today’s rule builds on other steps already under way to strengthen the risk pool.

  1. Special enrollment periods (SEPs) exist to ensure that people who lose coverage or experience other qualifying events have the opportunity to enroll in coverage.  We are committed to making sure that SEPs are available to those who are eligible for them and equally committed to avoiding any misuse or abuse of special enrollment periods. In 2016, we took a number of steps to ensure appropriate use of SEPs, such as introducing a confirmation process under which consumers enrolling through common SEPs are directed to provide documentation to confirm their eligibility.  In the proposed rule, we are seeking information on additional steps related to SEP outreach or policy we could take as soon as the 2017 plan year to strengthen the SEP risk pool.
  2. We’re helping ensure consumers who turn 65 are moving into Medicare and off the Marketplace, and already this year we’ve begun to see the impact of the efforts we’ve made to do that, as we saw a precipitous drop in dual enrollment with those who just turned 65 in August.
  3. We’re seeking comments through our recently issued Request for Information regarding concerns that some third-party entities may be inappropriately steering their Medicare and Medicaid patients into the individual market in order to receive higher reimbursement rates.
  4. We seek comment in this proposed rule on coordination of benefit policy that, similarly, is intended to ensure individuals entitled to Medicare and Medicaid are appropriately enrolled in those programs.

Improving Enrollment Growth

We also are always looking for new opportunities to increase both the number of Marketplace enrollees and the share of enrollees who are young and healthy.

  1. We recognize that robust outreach and consumer assistance can help with enrollment growth. To that end, we see comment on whether a certain amount or percent of user fees for the Federally-facilitated Marketplace should be dedicated to outreach.
  2. Today’s proposed rule includes consumer protections intended to provide a transparent consumer experience when enrolling directly through online agents or brokers who are registered with the Marketplace, or directly through an insurance company’s website. We have been working hard on the technology behind this additional enrollment channel, and our proposals, if finalized, will further competition in the Marketplaces while providing another channel for consumers, including young, healthy consumers, to enroll.

Removing Obstacles to Issuer Entrance, Growth, and Innovation

Today’s proposed rule also contemplates further removing potential obstacles to issuers growing their business and entering more markets.

  1. We are seeking comment on whether we should eliminate a requirement that certain issuers participating in the individual market Federally-facilitated Marketplaces also offer coverage through the Federally-facilitated SHOP Marketplaces.
  2. The proposed rule offers more flexibility for innovation around plan design by issuers, particularly around bronze plan offerings, while still protecting the coverage upon which consumers rely.
  3. We also include proposals to give new and growing issuers more flexibility in calculating their medical loss ratios, and to avoid instances where issuers who are adjusting their individual market or group market portfolios would inadvertently trigger a ban on participating in the individual or group market.

In just a few weeks, Open Enrollment will begin for consumers to come and shop and find a wide variety of affordable choices. As the Marketplace continues to grow and mature, one of our most important priorities is to study data, listen to a range of market participants, test out different approaches, and adapt to what we see and hear. We have a number of tools to make adjustments like the ones we are proposing today, and are confident in our ability to make the Marketplace an even more attractive market for consumers and health plans alike.

Bottom line …

These are the very same bozos who could not use “off the shelf” technology to track immigration while the credit card industry tracks and analyzes millions of transactions per day. These are the same bozos who could not design a cost-effect, secure, and functional website although Amazon, Google, and Microsoft offers secure platforms at reasonable prices. Perhaps it had to do with politics and the friends of Valerie Jarrett? And, these are the bozos that can’t run a substantially smaller healthcare system that serves our nation’s soldiers. So why should we have any confidence in any government-run healthcare system designed by corrupt politicians and their special interests.

Thanks to the Republicans and their “moderates” – also known as progressives – in Congress and on the Supreme Court (Justice Roberts in particular), we have a fully-funded unconstitutional system that is destroying quality healthcare in America. As if by design, the progressive socialist democrats want to reduce the standard of living and the quality of life of all Americans with a socialist system that ensures the equality of outcomes and sharing of misery.

We are so screwed.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2016: TIME FOR ARIZONA VOTERS TO VOTE "PROGRESSIVE COLLABORATOR" JOHN McCAIN OUT OF OFFICE

jmlg

John McCain who parlayed his experience as a decorated prisoner of war into a life-long political career should be retired. He has ceased to represent his constituency and appears to jump the aisle to empower the progressive socialist democrats who are destroying our country. Whether it was campaign finance reform (McCain-Feingold), immigration reform (McCain-Kennedy) or global warming (McCain-Lieberman) – not of his legislation promoted the Constitution, the Rule of Law, or a civil society.

McCain is the worst kind of crony capitalist – one that can be bought by the big money players and who is not above selling out his constituents for his own self-interests. He is a tool of the establishment and a progressive that panders to both sides of the spectrum.

McCain can no longer fool the voters into thinking he is a fair-minded, anti-establishment maverick  and promotes a conservative ideology. After 30 years in the Senate, the historical record says he is a RINO (Republican In Name Only) and every bit a country club politician as John Boehner and Joe Biden.

McCain’s primary challenger is Kelli Ward, 47, a former conservative state senator who has opening described McCain as a sell-out, or in her words, “the champion of compromise.”

If McCain wins his primary on the back of Donald Trump, one expects him to “dump Trump” and continue on his own way.

Bottom line …

kw

Elect Kelli Ward.

REPAIRING THE GOP WILL TAKE MORE THAN MONEY: IT WILL TAKE GUTS

For years I believe that the GOP stood for fiscal and social conservatism – smaller government, fewer rules and regulations, lower taxes, and family values.

Until Bush the elder led to Bill Clinton and Bush the younger led to Barack Obama. Both Bushes were northeastern liberal elites, crony capitalists with progressive values and a penchant for secrecy.

The party itself refused to embrace the politics of Ronald Reagan and continued to offer up progressives like John McCain and Mitt Romney who were just more of the same.

And, when presented with a true constitutional conservative that spoke with eloquence and passion about the conservative cause, the establishment gave us Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, and Donald Trump while rejecting Ted Cruz because he would not cut deals on his core believes or disavow his promises.

Now we are truly screwed with a rather lightweight celebrity billionaire bully boy and faced with the possibility of electing the devil or the devil’s advocate.

Fading fast …broken

Bottom line …

We may not get the presidency, but we need to hold a majority in the Senate and the House. But, that presupposes the leadership of both chambers have the cojones to resist the progressives embedded in both the House and the Senate to keep them from handing the progressive one victory after another. These progressives in the GOP are easy to find: Senators McConnell, McCain, Graham, Hatch, Blunt, Cochran and others.  All who have jumped the aisle to promote progressive policies as if they were on Team Obama.

We also need to insure that the Congress does the heavy lifting – no more publishing an outline and then outsourcing the rules and regulations to the executive branch agencies.

We need leaders with cojones … not people who can just yell loud and hurl insults.

2016 DIAGRAMING THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE: WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?

If you are wondering what is going on with the establishment GOP and their positioning, here is my diagram that explains it all …

overton

With the exception of immigration, Donald Trump’s signature issue, both Senator Marco Rubio and Governor Jeb Bush have more conservative positions than Trump’s economic and social positions. In fact, Trump’s positions on immigration are now starting to overlap with those of Rubio, Bush, and Hillary Clinton. Considering that Trump emulated former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and became a Republican to jump the democrat “wait your turn” line, why should anyone believe that he is a conservative with conservative values. Trump has never been an “outsider” nor is he likely to ignore the dictates of the establishment on both sides of the aisle.

Ask yourself why Ted Cruz is so hated? He is the only person who stood up to the progressive opposition and fought for the Constitution, the rule of law, the civil society, and in recognition of the “consent of the governed,” the positions he promised his constituency. He has no problem with standing up and exposing Mitch McConnell as a liar. But, unlike Trump, he is not willing to sell out his core beliefs – therefore he must be mocked, ridiculed, and demonized by both sides.

Bottom line …

This election cycle has revealed many politicians for what they really are: self-serving, sniveling cowards who say one thing to their constituency and then do whatever they are told to do by the special interests. This election cycle  has also exposed many journalists and commentators. Some, who professed to be conservative and wanting another Ronald Regan, stumbled all over themselves jumping on the Trump bandwagon. I no longer respect the people at Fox, Rush Limbaugh, Mike Savage, Breitbart (the site, not Andrew), Drudge, or a number of others who simply made excuses why Cruz shouldn’t be the nominee. The only man left standing as a constitutional conservative is Mark Levin who soldiers on each day as a shining example of a constitutional conservative – persuading with words rather than edicts.

We are so screwed.

Colin Kaepernick Insults America: Refuses to Stand During the National Anthem

UPDATE: It gets worse as there are suggestions that Kaepernick is pussy-whipped and that the idea behind his little protest was the brain child or encouraged by his Muslim girlfriend who appears to be a communist sympathizer. <Source: Daily Caller -- Kaepernick’s Communist-Sympathizing Muslim Girlfriend Believed To Be Behind Protest>

fist

Does this mean that Kaepernick will disavow the democrat party that originated slavery, segregation, institutional racism, the Ku Klux Klan, the Jim Crow laws and whose governance of the major inner cities for decades has seen the transfer of billions of dollars from programs on poverty, illiteracy, healthcare, crime, and employment to special interests and politicians?

Will Kaepernick recognize that the Black Lives Matter movement is just another front for radical communist revolution and black separatism?

Colin Kaepernick explains why he sat during national anthem

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has willingly immersed himself into controversy by refusing to stand for the playing of the national anthem in protest of what he deems are wrongdoings against African Americans and minorities in the United States.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

Bottom line …

Kaepernick is now a marginal player and instead of generating good will, he has dissed thousands of fans – or should I say former fans – in a bid to make himself relevant. Another uninformed useful idiot.

IT IS TIME FOR AMERICAN JEWS TO WAKE UP ...

Traditionally, you find American Jews predominantly support the progressive socialist democrat party in the United States.  Unfortunately, the democrat party of my parent’s days – the party of Kennedy – is long gone and while the political chicanery and corruption remains, the party has taken a definite turn towards malignant socialism and communism. And, even worse, the party has promoted programs and policies that have denigrated and disadvantaged Israel in favor of funding and supporting terrorist groups. And, just when you think it can’t get worse, you find out that the most important person next to Hillary Clinton, other than B.J. himself, is a Muslim with ties to terrorists.

It is time for American Jews to set aside their traditional blind support of the progressive socialist democrats and their corrupt, lying candidate Hillary Clinton.  It appears that numerous websites and commentators are trying to tar Donald Trump with the broad-brush of Anti-Semitism and bigotry. Trump may be many things, but he is pro-Jew, pro-Israel, and anti-terrorism.

In this video, Ezra Levant of TheRebel.media issues an appeal to "my fellow Hebrews," making the case for a Donald Trump presidency …

(If this video does not appear in the email version, it can be found here.)

<Excerpts>

Look, my fellow Hebrews. I know you love the Democrats.

And I know you have heard that Trump is anti-Semitic. Every Democrat I follow on Twitter has tweeted pictures of Trump with his arm out, Heil Hitler-style. Of course, you can do that with anyone.

So is Trump a Jew-hater?

Let me answer that charge in two ways:

How does Donald Trump treat Jews in his own life? And even more important, how does he treat Jewish issues in his political life?

All of Donald Trump’s children are either married to or dating Jews. That’s in his personal life.

His company, the Trump Organization? Pretty Jewy.

Executive vice president, Michael Cohen. Executive vice president, Jason Greenblatt. Chief Financial Officer, Allen Weisselberg. There’s a token gentile as chief operating officer though.

And his campaign? Jewish. Stephen Miller, the firebrand speechwriter who warms up the crowd for Trump’s rallies? Jewish. Abboud, communications coordinator? Sounds Muslim — but no, he’s a Sephardi Jew. Steve Mnuchin, finance chair —Jewish.

Stephen Miller, the firebrand speechwriter who warms up the crowd for Trump’s rallies? Jewish. Abboud, communications coordinator? Sounds Muslim — but no, he’s a Sephardi Jew. Steve Mnuchin, finance chair —Jewish.

So, everywhere Trump goes, he’s pretty much outnumbered by Jews.

But still — maybe he’s a secret racist. I mean, Hillary Clinton says so, and she wouldn't lie about that, would she?

Well, in June Trump gave the most amazing policy speech I’ve ever heard by a politician, of any party outside of Israel, where he speaks so plainly and honestly about radical Islam and its war on Western values.

<Video Clips>

He’s also been posting pro-Israel tweets way before he launched his campaign for president.

That’s Trump. There has never been a more pro-Israel candidate for president. Ever.

What about Hillary?

Hillary loves the Saudis —and they love her. They gave her foundation $25 million.

And that’s just from the “Kingdom” itself. Other Saudi sheikhs donated to her personally, as did Muslim dictatorships like Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, the United Arab Emirates. Millions of dollars to her personal foundation, while she was Secretary of State! That’s why she kept her emails secret.

Clinton never says the words “Islamic terrorism”. Clinton says she’d increase the number of Muslim migrants to the United States by 500%.

So, yeah, Jews. I think it’s time to grow up a bit.

If being Jewish to you is just about bagels and remembering the Holocaust, vote for whoever.

If you hate the Republicans because your family always voted Democrat, and you think Trump is a bit much, vote for whomever.

But if you actually care about Israel and the rising threat of anti-Semitism, then give your head a shake.

Hillary Clinton is the most anti-Israel candidate in history.

And then there’s the guy with Jewish advisors, a pro-Israel foreign policy, a national security immigration policy and eight Jewish grandchildren who probably call him “Zaidy.”

Pretty easy choice, I think.

Bottom line ...

The progressive socialist democrats have nominated a candidate that is unfit to become the President of the United States. A corrupt liar who has seemingly sold out the United States to the Chinese, to the Russians, and to the Iranians. While Donald Trump may be many things – and far from an admirable candidate – he certainly is not a traitor to Americans or Israelis.

You owe it to your nation to look at this video.

HILLARY CLINTON'S VENOMOUS ATTACK ON TRUMP ...

hc

Hillary Clinton’s ‘alt-right’ speech, annotated

Hillary Clinton gave a speech Thursday in Reno, Nevada, slamming the "radical fringe" that she says is taking over Republican politics thanks to Donald Trump.

I want to be a small business president. My father was a small business man. And I believe that in America, if you can dream it, you should be able to build it.

[Hillary has always been about BIG: BIG Government, BIG taxes, BIG Business, BIG Donations, and BIG Administration Rules and Regulations. Nothing remotely suggests her sponsorship for small business. And, let us not forget that President Obama claims “you didn’t built it” – at least without government guidance, regulation, and tax-paid infrastructure. ]

And so, we’ll be talking a lot more about small business and about our economic plans in the days and weeks ahead.

But today, here in this community college devoted to opening minds and creating great understanding of the world of which we live, I want to address something  that I am hearing about from Americans all over our country.

[Hillary is the de facto leader of the progressives that have radicalized most of our educational infrastructure. Where truth is meaningless measured against ideology and doctrine – and where history is continually being re-written to disadvantage America and promote failed ideologies and fringe ideas. The progressive worldview is not only unrealistic in terms of world threats and trade, but is a clear and present danger to world peace and stability as we saw in Iraq and Libya when the progressives assumed power.]

Everywhere I go, people tell me how concerned they are by the divisive rhetoric coming from my opponent in this election.

[An interesting comment because nobody is allowed to speak with Hillary Clinton that has not been vetted as a committed ideologue and drinker of the Kool-Aid. Even her media outreach efforts are tightly controlled and scripted. As for divisive rhetoric, one can not get much more divisive that the progressive socialist democrats who are diving America into balkanized classes and weaponizing real or imagined grievances that the progressives promise to address in return for their votes. Of course, one need only look at the inner cities under fifty years of progressive governance to see that billions of dollars have been diverted into the pockets of special interests and politicians and that very little has been done to cure poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, disease, crime, and decaying of the infrastructure.]

And I understand that concern, because it’s like nothing we’ve heard before from a nominee for president of the United States from one of our two major parties.

[Perhaps she was not listening closely to the words (and lies) spewed forth by President Obama or even the words of Hillary Clinton when she opposed Obama for the nomination.]

From the start, Donald Trump has built his campaign on prejudice and paranoia.

[The entire progressive socialist democrat party is built on prejudice and paranoia. Lest we forget, it was the democrats who supported slavery, segregation, the Jim Crow laws, and against civil rights. Some of the history they are trying to erase from the textbooks as their promote the alternative lifestyles and unconventional thinking.]

He is taking hate groups mainstream and helping a radical fringe take over the Republican Party.

[Did not Barack Obama take the radical anti-America, anti-white, anti-Jew, and anti-capitalist views of his long-time mentor Jeremiah Wright, his pal Louis Farrakhan, and terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn into the mainstream progressive movement which took a sharp turn towards the communist party? Isn’t it Hillary Clinton and the progressives that support the black radical Black Lives Matter Movement that should be renamed Black Lies Matter?]

His disregard for the values that make our country great is profoundly dangerous.

[Other than self-serving corruption and cronyism, what values did Hillary Clinton ever embrace as she sold out her country to the Chinese, Russians, and Iranians?]

In just this past week, under the guise of “outreach” to African Americans, Trump has stood up in front of largely white audiences and described black communities in such insulting and ignorant terms: “Poverty. Rejection. Horrible education. No housing. No homes. No ownership. Crime at levels nobody has seen." Right now," he said, "you walk down the street and get shot.”

Those are his words.

[Yes, those are the words of Donald Trump who was speaking the truth. And yes, they are considered insulting and ignorant by those who are responsible for those truths. It wasn’t the GOP that kicked black males out of poverty-stricken homes and destroyed the nuclear black family in favor of single mothers existing on welfare and having multiple children with multiple irresponsible males. It wasn’t the GOP that governed over the decline and decay of the inner cities brought about by the corrupt progressive unionism that destroyed both the private and public sector.]

But when I hear them, I think to myself: How sad. Donald Trump misses so much.

[Perhaps you should ask yourself if you and your corrupt party are so blinded by ideology that you truly cannot see the destruction and decay your policies have wrought? Are you unable to see that which can be seen on a simple car ride through downtown? Donald Trump did not miss anything.]

He doesn’t see the success of black leaders in every field, the vibrancy of black-owned businesses, the strength of the black church.

[Under capitalism, you can always see exceptional people at the top – and the theory that a rising tide lifts all boats remains a truism. Basically, the “black church” of which you speak is bought and paid for by the progressives who provide ego-boosting photo-ops and walking around money to the Judas goats that lead their flock astray. You do not hear Obama or Clinton denouncing the corrupt radical racial extortionists and race-baiters Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton – long time progressive associates.]

He doesn’t see the excellence of historically black colleges and universities or the pride of black parents watching their children thrive.

[The same historically black colleges and universities that promote racism, radicalism, socialism, communism, and the idea that white America needs to pay reparations beyond the billions pouring into minority social programs – some of which are unconstitutional and deny equal opportunities under the law.]

And he apparently didn't see Police Chief Brown on television after the murders of five of his officers conducting himself with such dignity.

[The majority of progressives condemned the police, supported the lies of the radical Black Lives Matter movement, and sent the Justice Department to harass police departments across the nation for made-up grievances based on traffic stops in most black precincts that we also areas of criminality. So citing one police officer does not get you off the hook for the hate spewed forth by the progressives against the military, law enforcement, or our capitalist system.]

He certainly doesn’t have any solutions to take on the reality of systemic racism and create more equity and opportunity in communities of color and for every American.

If racism is systemic and these people are so damn racist in black areas, point out to me the racist black politicians, chiefs of police, police officers, prosecutors, judges, and juries that are in charge of the system. A contradiction – or a big lie? Just who are these systemic racists that are acting as your straw-man argument?]

It really does take a lot of nerve to ask people he’s ignored and mistreated for decades, “What do you have to lose?” Because the answer is: Everything.

[It takes even more nerve for Hillary Clinton to ask the poor and minority voters who have been screwed for decades by the progressives to once again vote for a lying, crony, capitalist whose every political action speaks volumes about her future policies. “Trust Me” is not a policy, nor a prescriptive for what ails America. And, for Hillary Clinton to ask for that trust from those she has misrepresented for decades is dishonest, disingenuous, and downright criminal.]

Now, Trump’s lack of knowledge or experience or solutions would be bad enough.

[We can see what Hillary Clinton’s knowledge and experience have wrought in a decaying society and dangerous world. Whether it is blindly supporting teachers’ unions who promote yet another generation of functional illiterates or her actions in Iraq, Libya, and Iran that have cost blood, sweat, treasure, and actual lives, Hillary Clinton has zero achievements that she can point to as being beneficial to anyone except the Clinton Criminal Enterprise. Perhaps, on that alone, Trump’s fresh eyes can prove more beneficial that Hillary’s old, aging eyes which are blinded by ideological cataracts. ]

But what he’s doing here is more sinister.

[More sinister than selling out your constituents to the special interests. Promoting the interests of China, Russia, and Iran over national security? More sinister than ignoring the law regarding the handling of classified data? Who is Hillary Clinton kidding when it comes to sinister motives and corrupt actions?

Trump is reinforcing harmful stereotypes and offering a dog whistle to his most hateful supporters.

[So says Hillary Clinton and her cadre of socialist and communists who exploit manufactured racial stereotypes and engage in class warfare. Trump wasn’t the one on stage barking manically like a dog when lies were being told. It was Hillary.]

It’s a disturbing preview of what kind of president he’d be.

And that's what I want to make clear today:

A man with a long history of racial discrimination, who traffics in dark conspiracy theories drawn from the pages of supermarket tabloids and the far, dark reaches of the internet, should never run our government or command our military.

[It is not funny that, as more and more of the missing emails surface, the conspiracy theories appear to be grounded in provable fact. We can also say that the progressive socialist democrats with their long history of real – not imagined – racial discrimination should never run our government or command our military.]

Ask yourself, if he doesn’t respect all Americans, how can he serve all Americans?

[Was there ever a time when the progressive socialist democrats were in power that they respected ALL Americans with their continuing Administrative rules and regulations? I think not.]

Now, I know some people still want to give Trump the benefit of the doubt.

They hope that he will eventually reinvent himself – that there’s a kinder, gentler, more responsible Donald Trump waiting in the wings somewhere.

[II also hope Trump will reinvent himself and I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt if he gives up his insane antics and moves toward constitutional conservatism. Until then, he remains just a slightly less defective and dangerous candidate than Hillary Clinton.]

Because after all, it’s hard to believe anyone – let alone a nominee for president  – could really believe all the things he says.

But the hard truth is, there’s no other Donald Trump. This is it.

<snip>

And let’s not forget Trump first gained political prominence leading the charge for the so-called “Birthers.” He promoted the racist lie that President Obama is not really an American citizen – part of a sustained effort to delegitimize America’s first black president.

[And let us not forget, it was Obama himself who refused to release his birth certificate, passport, travel documents, and school records. Spending millions in court fights to prevent any individual from actually examining the “in situ” birth records as maintained by the State of Hawaii. And, let us not forget, that the matter of his birth certificate, travel to foreign lands, school scholarship declarations, and other documents have never been judicially reviewed and certified. And, appear to be treated as state secrets. Why? should be the first questioned asked of either candidate after assuming office. We know that Obama did not write his first autobiography and it contained material misstatements and misrepresentations. So Trump gets a pass for asking the questions, but not for insisting he knew a secret – which he never revealed. The truth is that Obama is multi-racial and that while he self-identifies as Black, he appears to have little in common with other blacks.]

In 2015, Trump launched his own campaign for president with another racist lie. He described Mexican immigrants as rapists and criminals. And he accused the Mexican government of actively sending them across the border. None of that is true.

[Some illegal aliens were most definitely criminals and racists. And, the corrupt Mexican government has done everything in its power to assist illegal aliens in order to keep money flowing into Mexico and to relive the nation’s needs to build out its educational, employment, and judicial infrastructure.]

Oh, and by the way, Mexico’s not paying for his wall either.

[It is unlikely that the Mexican government will pay for the wall. And should Trump become the president, look for some tortured explanation of why the Mexicans and not the American taxpayer paid for the wall.]

<snip>

When asked in a nationally televised interview whether he would disavow the support of David Duke, a former grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, Trump wouldn’t do it. And only later, again, under mounting pressure, did he backtrack.

And when Trump was asked about anti-Semitic slurs and death threats coming from his supporters, he refused to condemn them.

[Perhaps we should inquire about Hillary Clinton’s  effusive praise for racist and anti-Semitic KKK leader, Senator Robert Byrd. Or her support for the racist and anti-Semitic Black Lives Matter movement.]

<snip>

Just recently, Trump claimed that President Obama founded ISIS. And he has repeated that over and over again.

[The truth is that the vacuum created by Obama’s sudden withdrawal from Iraq led to the creation of ISIS and the strengthening of al Qaeda. Perhaps we should inquire into the unconstitutional and potentially illegal weapons transfers that were occurring at the joint State Department/CIA compound that was destroyed by terrorists on the anniversary of 9/11. And, why our ambassador happened to be present with insufficient security on that specific evening. It appears that she told her daughter it was a terrorist attack on that very evening while insisting to the public it was a spontaneous uprising over a little-seen video. Even worse, dithering about whether any rescuers should be dressed as civilians with unmarked vehicles.]

His latest paranoid fever dream is about my health. All I can say is, Donald, dream on.

[Shut up and just release your health records if you want to prove that Donald is blowing smoke. But, then again, Donald does not have to be propped up with pillows when he sits down. Donald does not need to be physically “escorted” when he walks or delivers a speech. And, Donald is always on and campaigning – not taking copious “rest” periods.]

<snip>

You know, I’ve stood by President Obama’s side as he made the toughest decisions a Commander-in-Chief has to make.

[Like “killing bin Laden” by finally giving in to those who urged action. Ignoring Valerie Jarrett who squelched previous attempts because it might look bad politically. Or like ordering the rescue of Americans under attack in Benghazi as they fought for their lives. Oh wait – Obama didn’t stick around, he went to bed and then flew to a fundraiser in Nevada the next day. What hard decisions? How to lie to the American public?]

In times of crisis, our country depends on steady leadership,  clear thinking, calm judgment. Because one wrong move can mean the difference between life and death. I know we have veterans here and I know we have families, mothers and spouses of people currently serving.

[We certainly don’t need an older, infirm lady who lacks the integrity of a Margaret Thatcher or Golda Meir and who has sold out American interests to the Chinese, Russians, and Iranians in return for “donations.”]

The last thing we need in the Situation Room is a loose cannon who can’t tell the difference -- or doesn't care to -- between fact and fiction, and who buys so easily into racially-tinged rumors.

[We cannot afford a leader who lies with impunity about things that never happened – like the landing under sniper fire that, in reality, was a landing greeted by little girls with flowers. Hillary is a congenital liar and cannot be trusted with anything remotely resembling command authority. A known hater of the military, uniformed law enforcement, and her own protection detail.]

Someone so detached from reality should never be in charge of making decisions that are as real as they come.

[Amen! And, I mean Hillary Clinton is detached from reality, living in her own Clintonworld, serviced by her acolytes, sycophants, and others like Huma Abedin.]

<snip>

He’d abolish the bedrock constitutional principle that says if you’re born in the United States, you’re an American citizen. He says that children born into undocumented parents in America are “anchor babies” and should be deported. Millions of them.

[This was never a bedrock principle that babies born of illegal alien parents are American citizens, but a Supreme Court decision, that can be overturned by Congress if they had the cojones to stand-up to the illegal alien front groups and our enemies. Of course, if one parent is a legal citizen, then the child would also be a citizen. Very few nations hold this viewpoint and at this point in time, it is counterproductive when there are no checks and balances on illegal immigrants flowing into the country.]

And he’d ban Muslims around the world, billions of them, from entering our country just because of their religion.

[The Constitution is not a suicide pact where we must admit Muslim terrorists into our nation. Trump clarified his position so that it was not based on religion, but on region. We vet people and simply do not allow people from terrorist regions free access to America. Common sense.]

Think about that for a minute. How would it actually work? So people landing in U.S. airports would line up to get their passports stamped, just like they do now.

But in Trump’s America, when they step up to the counter, the immigration officer would ask every single person, “What is your religion?”

[No, they would never get to the immigration counter because their VISA would have been denied before entry. And religion would never be an issue – although the overwhelming majority of terrorists are Muslim, and the worst ones appear to be Saudi-funded. No muss, no fuss.]

<snip>.

Trump likes to say he only hires the “best people.” But he’s had to fire so many campaign managers it’s like an episode from the Apprentice.

[All of Hillary Clinton’s long-time people appear to have been incubated at the Clinton Foundation which is little more than a criminal enterprise supporting the Clintons and their minions. They don’t have to fire anyone, they just move them around and pay them off.]

It's truly hard to believe, but according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks hate groups, Breitbart embraces “ideas on the extremist fringe of the conservative right."

[The Southern Poverty Law Center is a radical far-left activist fringe outfit that services the left with pronouncements meant to disparage anyone who criticizes the ideology, the movement, or the people involved. ]

This is not conservatism as we have known it. This is not Republicanism as we have know it. These are race-baiting ideas, anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant ideas, anti-woman –– all key tenets making up an emerging racist ideology known as the ‘Alt-Right.’ Now Alt-Right is short for “Alternative Right.”

[How would Hillary Clinton even begin to recognize conservatism when she is a Marxist and pushes the socialist/communist line. Her policies are indistinguishable from Bernie Sanders – an outright communist – and Elizabeth Warren – another commie.]

The Wall Street Journal describes it as a loose but organized movement, mostly online, that “rejects mainstream conservatism, promotes nationalism and views immigration and multiculturalism as threats to white identity.”

[I would posit that the same things could be said for the Alt-Left and its organizations like the Nation of Islam, Black Lives Matter, and the current democrat party – actually the neo-communist party in the United States.]

<snip>

Trump himself heaps praise on Putin and embraces pro-Russian policies.

[But it appears that Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation were complicit in aiding the transfer of 20% of America’s uranium production to Russian controlled entities with associations to Putin.

Wasn’t it Obama that told Putin’s buddy that he would be more flexible after the election? Wasn’t it Hillary that gave the Russians a botched “Reset” button? And, why are the Russians sending contributions to the Clinton Foundation when their own people are wanting?]

<snip>

There’s an old Mexican proverb that says “Tell me with whom you walk, and I will tell you who you are.”

[Clinton is surrounded by crooks, cronies, communists, socialists, and Muslims with ties to terrorism. Nothing more needs to be said.]

We know who Trump is. A few words on a teleprompter won’t change that.

[We know who Hillary Clinton is and it is not a pretty picture. And, given her long and scandalous history, she is unfit to hold any office in the United States.]

And this isn’t just about one election. It’s about who we are as a nation.

I don't know about you but I don't think we have a person to waste. We want to build an America where every person has a place where if you work hard and do your part, you can get ahead and stay ahead. That's the basic bargain of America. And we cannot get to where we need to be unless we stand together and stand up against prejudice and paranoia and prove once and for all that America is great because is America is good.

[An amazing statement from someone who hates America.]

Thank you all. Let's go out and win the election. May God bless the United States and bless you!

Bottom line ...

Send Hillary Clinton to prison for violating the Espionage Act, obstructing justice, and running a criminal enterprise.

And, where in the mainstream media do you find that both Hillary and Bill Clinton's mentors were segregationists, Klansmen, or that the Clintons celebrated Confederate Flag day annually while in office. And let not forget that it was in Arkansas that the National Guard surrounded a school to prevent black children from entering -- until the 1101st Airborne was sent by a Republican to protect the children. Read more here.

Don't forget, it was a prominent progressive socialist democrat hero, President Woodrow Wilson, who was a stone cold racist and ordered the government to re-segregate the civil service after it was de-segregated by the GOP.

It's called projection: the progressive socialist democrats take everything that they are guilty of and ascribe the same motives and actions to the GOP.

Donald Trump may be many things, but being a racist is not one of them.

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER ATTACK BY A TRUMPETER TROLL

I was accosted by an argumentative reader today who put forth a lengthy argument that I was being “counterproductive” to the cause of constitutional conservatism because I continued to state that while electing Hillary Clinton would be a disaster, electing Donald Trump is also be a disaster, albeit of a different kind.

Is your head spinning yet?

Trompism

All of the Trump positions he cited on immigration, economics, and national defense have never been fully articulated by Donald Trump or Trump has provided contradictory and confusing statements.

Trump suggests major shift on deportations

Donald Trump suggested Wednesday that he would allow exceptions to let some undocumented immigrants to stay in the US, vowing he wouldn't grant them citizenship but telling Fox News, "there's no amnesty, but we work with them."

For Trump, whose rise to the Republican nomination was based in large part on his hardline immigration policies, the comments are the clearest sign yet that he is reconsidering his pledge to deport all of the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants in the US, a key part of his campaign platform.

"No citizenship. Let me go a step further -- they'll pay back-taxes, they have to pay taxes, there's no amnesty, as such, there's no amnesty, but we work with them," Trump told Sean Hannity when asked if he would allow for exceptions to his long-held position. <Source>

His warning: I better get on the Trump bandwagon or else I would be helping to elect Hillary Clinton. His argument was first we have to win before we can deal with honesty, lying, and corruption in politics.

One of my friends sent me this great example of this type of argumentation …

It seems that lately my life has been getting more complicated, and I want to thank those of you who are brave enough to still associate with me regardless of what I have become.

The following is a recap of my current identity:

  • I was born white, which makes me a racist.
  • I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which makes me a fascist.
  • I am heterosexual, which makes me a homophobe.
  • I am non-union, which makes me a traitor to the working class and an ally of big business.
  • I am a Christian, which makes me an infidel.
  • I am older than 65 and retired, which makes me a useless old person.
  • I think and I reason; therefore I doubt much that the main stream media tells me, which makes me a reactionary.
  • I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive American culture, which makes me a xenophobe.
  • I value my safety and that of my family; therefore I appreciate the police and the legal system, which makes me a right-wing extremist.
  • I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual's merits, which makes me anti-social.
  • I believe in the defense and protection of the homeland by all citizens, which makes me a militarist.
  • I don’t believe in everything Donald Trump says, which makes me a Hillary supporter.

Please help me come to terms with this, because I'm not sure who I am anymore!

My newest problem, I'm not sure which bathroom I should use.

So what do you say to a passionate Trump fan-boy?

Pretty much I told him that I was going to concentrate my energies down-ballot and trying to support a GOP majority in the House, a GOP majority in the Senate, and candidates who might be able to override both Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell when it comes to selling out the GOP to the progressive socialist democrats. It seems that this is the only prudent course of action to inoculate the nation against a Hillary Clinton and a Donald Trump.

I have never seen a political contest between corrupt and corrupter or dumb and dumber as the case may be. Where the national  media will spend time on trivialities and ignore the elephant in the room and the tiger in the corner.

If  Trump were serious about immigration reform and enforcement, he would have noted that we need to re-work our social security numbering system to remove the fraudulent entries made by illegal aliens. Of course, the money would be forfeit as the product of an illegal act. And, he would also vow to deport those “documented illegal aliens” who have violated their visa agreement which they signed under the penalty of perjury. These are the people who came through the front door and deserve to be deported no matter what their current status might be. Then, we can turn to the illegals who have snuck over the border – who are in a different class altogether. But Trump appears not to understand nuance nor a coherent and comprehensive immigration policy. We would immediately enforce the use of e-verify and penalize employers who use illegal labor. Additionally, we would demand that both Social Security and IRS provide information on suspect illegals using phony accounts.  And, no more sanctuary cities who violate federal immigration laws.

Bottom line …

The only certainty in this race is that Hillary Clinton will continue to be corrupt and Trump will continue to whine that the system is rigged. Both elitists pushing their self-interests over the nation. The Clinton strategy appears to be “say nothing and let Trump implode.” The Trump strategy appears to be “yell loudly and point at something else, lest the crowd realize that the Emperor has no clothes.”  As for Trump’s policy, it can be stated as “TBD” – to be determined.

We are so truly screwed.

AT $400 MILLION PER HOSTAGE, WE CAN NO LONGER AFFORD TO ALLOW AMERICANS TO VISIT IRAN

It appears that the Obama Administration is doing everything they can to support our enemies like Iran and disadvantage our allies. So it is only common sense that we restrict ALL American travel to Iran including those who may hold dual American-Iranian citizenship. Until Iran is no longer at war with the United States and no longer a sponsor of state terrorism, Americans should not be allowed to visit Iran, period!

Iran Travel Warning

Last Updated: August 22, 2016

The Department of State warns U.S. citizens of the risks of travel to Iran.

This replaces the Travel Warning for Iran dated March 14, 2016, to reiterate and highlight the risk of arrest and detention of U.S. citizens, particularly dual national Iranian-Americans.

Foreigners, in particular dual nationals of Iran and Western countries including the United States, continue to be detained or prevented from leaving Iran. U.S. citizens traveling to Iran should very carefully weigh the risks of travel and consider postponing their travel. U.S. citizens residing in Iran should closely follow media reports, monitor local conditions, and evaluate the risks of remaining in the country.

Iranian authorities continue to unjustly detain and imprison U.S. citizens, particularly Iranian-Americans, including students, journalists, business travelers, and academics, on charges including espionage and posing a threat to national security.

Iranian authorities have also prevented the departure, in some cases for months, of a number of Iranian-American citizens who traveled to Iran for personal or professional reasons. U.S. citizens traveling to Iran should very carefully weigh the risks of travel and consider postponing their travel. U.S. citizens residing in Iran should closely follow media reports, monitor local conditions, and evaluate the risks of remaining in the country.

The U.S. government does not have diplomatic or consular relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and therefore cannot provide protection or routine consular services to U.S. citizens in Iran.

The Swiss government, acting through its Embassy in Tehran, serves as protecting power for U.S. interests in Iran. The range of consular services provided by the Foreign Interests Section at the Swiss Embassy is limited and may require significantly more processing time than at U.S. embassies or consulates

The Iranian government does not recognize dual citizenship and will not allow the Swiss to provide protective services for U.S. citizens who are also Iranian nationals.

The Iranian authorities make the determination of a dual national’s Iranian citizenship without regard to the dual national’s personal wishes.  Consular access to detained U.S. citizens without dual nationality is often denied as well.

The Iranian government continues to repress some minority religious and ethnic groups, including Christians, Baha'i, Arabs, Kurds, Azeris, and others.

Consequently, some areas within the country where these minorities reside, including the Baluchistan border area near Pakistan and Afghanistan, the Kurdish northwest of the country, and areas near the Iraqi border, remain unsafe.

Iranian authorities have detained and harassed U.S. citizens, particularly those of Iranian origin.

Former Muslims who have converted to other religions, religious activists, and persons who encourage Muslims to convert are subject to arrest and prosecution.

Iran Travel Warning

Bottom line …

BOBR

As Einstein famously said, “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.” It appears that the progressive politicians on both sides of the aisle will never learn. Restrict all travel to global terrorist hotspots and we can prevent innocents from being taken hostage. And, should an American be taken hostage, respond with the United States Marines or special forces. The hostage may not survive the rescue attempt, but there will be a lot fewer terrorists on hand to grab the next American. It’s like the old story of the Russians who were taken hostage. The Russians grabbed a relative of one of the terrorist leaders and sent him back in a box one piece at a time – and now they do not take Russian hostages. I am not saying we need to engage in that level of brutality – simply kill everyone in the government hierarchy in the vicinity if they do not surrender the hostage on demand.

It is about time that they find out that America is far tougher than the pussified Obama and his cadre of appeasers.
