TRUMP: THE HELICOPTER PRESIDENT?

If news reports are to believed, Donald Trump may become the “helicopter” president – dropping in to soak up the admiration and glory, jetting around to meet famous and interesting people, and throwing people under the bus when something goes wrong. Leaving a Vice President, Mike Pence, to run both domestic and foreign policy. Under this scenario, one can imagine Trump lying to the American people about his involvement in governmental affairs much in the same manner that Barack Obama swears that he learns about “bad news” from the mainstream media, feigns outrage, promises to fix the problem, and then goes golfing.

ABD

One day this past May, Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., reached out to a senior adviser to Gov. John Kasich of Ohio, who left the presidential race just a few weeks before.

But according to the Kasich adviser (who spoke only under the condition that he not be named), Donald Jr. wanted to make him an offer nonetheless: Did he have any interest in being the most powerful vice president in history?

When Kasich’s adviser asked how this would be the case, Donald Jr. explained that his father’s vice president would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.

Then what, the adviser asked, would Trump be in charge of? “Making America great again” was the casual reply.

(Neither Donald Jr. nor Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign chairman, replied to multiple requests on Tuesday for comment for this article. After the article was posted, Donald Jr. disputed the Kasich adviser’s account.) <Source: New York Times>

What makes this assertion appear credible is that this is precisely how Donald Trump currently operates and has operated in the past … offloading the heavy lifting to others, taking credit for successes, and burying failures by denying that they ever happened or spinning an alternative tale that may have little relationship with truth or the actual facts.

One need only look at the current class action lawsuits where Trump’s attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, claims that Trump did not have a major role in Trump University.

A federal judge said Friday that he is inclined to deny a request by Donald Trump's lawyers to dismiss a lawsuit that accuses the Republican presidential nominee of defrauding customers at the now-defunct Trump University.

Trump's attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, urged the judge to reconsider, calling the lawsuit a "gross overreach" of federal civil racketeering statutes. He told the judge the plaintiffs have failed to show that Trump himself orchestrated allegedly misleading marketing claims.

"He did not run Trump University. He was not the chief operating officer. He did not direct the day-to-day affairs," Petrocelli said. "The idea that he is somehow at the center of it is not supported by the evidence in the case."

Trump University's sales pitches "are classic examples of sales puffery common to advertising everywhere," his lawyers said in court documents filed for Friday's hearing arguing the lawsuit is an abuse of federal racketeering conspiracy statutes. They minimize Trump's involvement, saying he delegated responsibilities after creating Trump University in 2005.

Lawyers for the plaintiff wrote mockingly that Trump's lawyers should argue their case on Earth, not in "District Court in Bizarro World." They dismiss Trump's claims of limited involvement, saying, "He only starred in the marketing materials. Signed them. Corrected them. And approved them." <Source>

Classic Trump …

This is indicative of a pattern and practice of not only denying responsibility for adverse events, but also a demonstration of Trump’s propensity to personally attack anyone who does not agree with him. How foolish was it for Trump to go after the Judge by suggesting his Mexican heritage (born in Indiana and went to law school at Indiana University) prejudiced any decision because Trump openly declared he was against illegal aliens and planned to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexican border. First calling the Judge a “hater” who was “unfair” to him. And, then in classic Trump style, refusing to apologize and declaring he was "justified," and that his words had been "misconstrued."

The Judge, based on his associations and record, may very well be a progressive socialist democrat, pro-Hispanic, and pro-open borders, but that is a subject for a recusal motion that is supported with the facts, not a bloviating bully boy attempting to try the case in the court of public opinion. Again, we see another instance of New York values and Trump’s similarity to Hillary Clinton in the propensity to engage in backroom deals. Even to the extent of asking the Judge to bar his video depositions from being released because of a similar bar enacted to protect the video depositions of Hillary’s subordinates who repeatedly exerted their Fifth Amendment rights or had lapses of memory.

Red flags flying …

Watch for these key conversational phrases when Trump is speaking:

  • I was told …
  • Many people believe …
  • Many people thing …
  • Many people are saying …
  • I don’t know, but that is what people are telling me …
  • Just saying …
  • Let me tell you …
  • You oughta check it out.
  • Believe me …
  • Trust me …
  • Unbelievable …
  • No one really knows …
  • The system is rigged … (but never explains how he got to the top, or the shenanigans he pulled)
  • There’s something going on …
  • Then there are the personal attacks (lightweight, loser, over rated, a beauty)

Bottom line …

This should scare the bejesus out of you. A celebrity president on a perpetual “feel good” trip around America and the world while the problems are handled by unelected bureaucratic apparatchiks under the guiding hand of lobbyists wanting to negotiate deals with the government. Which brings us to the real issue of a Trump Presidency: what would Donald Trump actually do? Crony capitalism in the mode of George Bush? Or simply mirror what others, including Barack Obama, have done by tinkering around the edges. Pretty much why I cannot offer full to support to the nominee who has not given any specifics about a potential Trump Administration beyond “I will make America great again.” Which is fine for bumper stickers and hats, but not so great for America.

And, some people demand I get behind Trump – because to voice concerns is to support Hillary Clinton. Hogwash. We need to know who we are electing, their policies, and their manner of governance.

We are so screwed.

ARE RACIAL AND SEXUAL POLITICS AFFECTING THE HEALTH SCIENCES?

Once again we are seeing the malignant influence of progressive socialist democrats and their corrupt ideology on science, many times in order to produce selective scientific results to drive a political ideology. Now it is being suggested that race and sex should be factors in the funding of health sciences – and, even worse, that diversity, professorships, and tenure should also be sub-goals of the research.

 ksu

Race, Not Gender, Is Key Factor in NIH Awards

Race not gender appears to be the most significant factor influencing the award of a National Institutes of Health Research Project Grant, according to a new study led by a University of Kansas economist.

"In most cases, NIH funds are the gateway to having tenure and becoming a full-fledged member of an academic faculty," said Donna Ginther, a KU professor of economics and the study's lead author. "Understanding who gets grants in order to promote a more diverse applicant pool will add to the diversity of the student body at colleges and universities."

[Excuse me! I thought that the purpose of research grants in the health sciences was to provide the best and the brightest with the opportunity to advance science and medicine to benefit all mankind, not to provide tenure to professors or to add to the diversity of the student body]

The research follows a 2011 study in the journal Science led by Ginther that found a 10 percentage-point gap in research funding between black and white applicants, and the NIH, the world's foremost biomedical funding agency, in response to that study announced new initiatives to combat the discrepancy.

[Anyone who introduces racial or sexual elements into scientific research, especially medical research, should be dismissed as an ideologue and banished from administering any grant program. Just the mere suggestion of politics in the funding of scientific research leads to the inescapable conclusion that the administration, by selectively funding certain studies, can influence the outcome of the research in order to ultimately influence public policies that comport with a particular political ideology.]

The newest study, which is scheduled to appear in the August issue of the journal Academic Medicine, did contain some decent news, Ginther said, because the data showed white women have a slight advantage over men in the receiving NIH Type 1, or R01, awards.

"If women of color are disadvantaged, it has to do with race, not gender," said Ginther, who is also director of the Center for Science Technology & Economic Policy at the KU Institute for Social Policy & Research.

Applications for NIH funding go through a peer review process that considers the significance, innovation and approach of the grant application, and approximately half of the proposals are discussed and assigned a priority score. Among those scored, budgets and NIH institutes priorities determine which applications are funded.

[This is the way it is supposed to be done.]

Applicants self-identify, race, ethnicity and gender, but that information is not available during the peer review. However, biographical facts included in the review materials can provide clues to the identity of the applicants, the researchers said.

[I can see fraud rearing its ugly head already as the Obama administration tells us that you can self-identify almost as anything you want because the facts of biology are trumped by instances of behavior. Let us not forget that one prominent individual, Elizabeth Warren, self-identified as an American Indian to obtain special consideration and affirmative action during her career. All without a shred of proof, biological, familial, or tribal. We have seen white self-identify as blacks, men as women, and women as men; so the actual systemic safeguards against racial and sexual misappropriation seem to be broken.]

In the newest study that examined R01 awards from 2000 to 2006 along the lines of race and gender also made the following findings:

• Women submitted fewer applications than men during this time frame.

[Is it possible that there are more men doing science than there are women in certain medical and scientific disciplines.]

• The only evidence of a "double bind," or disadvantage for women of color occurred among women PhD applicants, though not MD applicants.

[Could it be that there are other factors at play in that someone of color may have been given an artificial advantage during their educational process and their work is somehow less than other, more accomplished applicants?]

• Because men of color are more likely to submit a single, unfunded proposal, stereotype threat may be an issue as well.

[Stereotype threat? One might question if the authors are providing meaningful insight or simply publishing for self-serving and political reasons. Many scientific studies are faulty in that they have low sample sizes, confuse correlation with causation, use inappropriate statistical analytics, map extremely limited findings into unwarranted larger populations, or are simply performed by looking at an established dataset to obtain funding or a PhD with little regard for the usefulness of the research.]

The researchers recommend policies designed to encourage women and men of color to submit revised and additional grant proposals to increase their chances of receiving NIH funding.

[Unless one can submit a cognizable reason for resubmitting their research, it should be rejected; especially if that reason pertains to race, sex, or gender.]

"Rejection of proposals is par for the course, it's important that researchers understand that they need to talk with their program officer, revise the proposal, and try again," said Ginther, noting that many women and minority applicants tended not to submit multiple proposals.

[Unless there is some reasonable explanation for submitting multiple proposals, such as a phased study or follow-on research, just submitting multiple proposals appears to clog the system, encourage bureaucrats, and may be meaningless in terms of any beneficial results.]

She said the findings of the success of the likelihood of women applicants to earn funding indicate some progress in academic science. For example, other studies have shown that research teams that include women had contributed to changes in how products and medical devices were designed.

Last year, NIH issued a directive that researchers must take sex into account in all research designs. Studies now show that even with mice, that female response to pain is different than with men.  "Race matters as well," Ginther said.

[This is a non sequitur; the design of parametric research studies has absolutely nothing to do with the sex of the applicant for grant funding.]

Ginther said that additional policies are warranted to address the racial gap among NIH awards. For example, NIH has developed a mentoring network for minority scientists to help encourage them to remain in the field and in pursuit of faculty positions and tenure, she said.

[Again, the purpose of funding science is to do science, not encourage people to remain in the field and/or to secure faculty positions and tenure. In fact, tenure is counterproductive in any field as it insulates the beneficiary from the consequences of their actions and makes it almost impossible to weed-out those underperforming individuals who are a waste of scientific time, space, and money.]

"Science is a high-risk enterprise," Ginther said. "So you want to have as many qualified people working in science as possible. You don't want to make it the exclusive domain of a select few."

[This is the type claptrap promoted by the progressive socialist democrats and their idea of racial and sexual justice. It has one fatal flaw: more is not often better, just as science is not performed by consensus and committee.

Source: Race, Not Gender, Is Key Factor in NIH Awards

Bottom line ...

Science should be performed by scientists, without regard to race, sex, and politics. To do anything else is to corrupt the science and introduce factors that are not beneficial to the scientific community, but to political entireties that employee scientists. Science should be color, sex, and gender blind. The best and the brightest should see their promising research funded over “me too” crap studies done to promote secondary self-serving considerations.

As we see in the perversion that is climate science, we are so screwed when politics trumps science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

LIKE RONALD REAGAN BEFORE HIM, TED CRUZ WILL RETURN: STRONGER AND MORE COMMITTED TO CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATISM

Why I am writing about Ted Cruz when Donald Trump has just been nominated by the GOP for the Presidency of the United States …

One might think that Donald Trump would make an effort to united the entire Republican Party, conservatives included, after he accepted the nomination. But speaking to volunteers in Cleveland, Donald Trump, once again, displayed his true nature as a billionaire bully boy when he continued to trash Ted Cruz.

Somebody got booed the hell out of the place,” Trump noted in a speech to his volunteers Friday morning as the Republican National Convention wrapped up. “There wasn’t one person who was with him,” Trump said, including the Texas delegation.

He may have ruined his political career,” Trump said. “He’ll come and endorse because he has no choice.”

Yet, if he gives his endorsement, Trump said “he will not accept it.”

“I saw his speech,” Trump said. His team told him “it’s a "boring speech" and the Texas senator even congratulates him for his nomination.

Then, when Cruz stepped up to the podium, he added a sentence, “which could have been viewed as a nasty thing and implying something,” Trump said.

“That’s dishonorable,” he added. “To me not signing a pledge is dishonorable.”

“I don’t want his endorsement,” Trump repeated. “Ted, just stay home, relax.”  <Source>

The sentence that Cruz added reads as follows: “And like each of you, I want to see the principles that our party believes prevail in November.”  This is the statement that could have been viewed as a nasty thing and implying something? Maybe if you are a malignant narcissist with paranoid tendencies and project your own behavior on your opponents? It appears that the party, firmly in the hands of the establishment, nominated the wrong candidate.

Trump is a liar. A man who lies, lies about lying, and then says he never said it when confronted with recorded proof. And, yet he calls Ted Cruz “Lyin’ Ted.”

So lets review what occurred on March 29, 2016.

Trump Declares GOP Pledge Null And Void -- Citing unfair treatment, the front-runner now says he will not support the Republican nominee if it isn’t him.

The Republican pledge is dead, and Donald Trump is the one who killed it.

On Tuesday night, the GOP front-runner said the pledge he once signed to back the eventual nominee had been made null and void, thanks to unfair treatment from the Republican National Committee.

Fielding questions from CNN's Anderson Cooper at a town hall in Milwaukee, Trump said recent events had him reconsidering the promise he made months ago.

"Do you continue to pledge [to support] whoever the Republican nominee is?" Cooper asked.

"No, I don't anymore," Trump replied. <Source>

And, if he lies about it, here it is again in his own words  …

Not exact presidential, but the actions of a small, petty man who reverts to his nature time and time again. It is almost like he is a stalking horse for the democrats …

Bottom line …

cp

Explain why all of Trump’s surrogates and representatives urged Cruz to endorse Trump when Trump didn’t apparently care about or want the endorsement? Why is he revisiting this issue after the nomination, going on and on about Cruz.

In a singular display of dishonestly and deception, the outrage against Ted Cruz not endorsing Donald Trump was manufactured and stage-managed by the Trump organization. Donald Trump was told in a face-to-face meeting with Ted Cruz three days prior that he would not endorse Trump because of the vicious attacks on his wife and father. Calling his wife unattractive and suggesting his father may have had a part in the JFK assassination was unconscionable. Never mind that Cruz was accused have an affair with five women. The Trump surrogates and representatives knew when they went to the media and demanded that Cruz endorse Trump, noting the embarrassment and shame Cruz would face if no endorsement was forthcoming. The media, as well as the Trump Campaign, was provided with an embargoed copy of Cruz’s speech hours before delivery, yet we saw the media pundits asking questions as if they did not already know the answer. Ambush and partisan journalism at its worst.

Truth-be-told, Ted Cruz could have disrupted the convention by having any delegate enter his name into nomination. But, he declined to do so out of respect for the convention process. He stood on the stage – where the other prominent candidates did not attend – and congratulated Donald Trump on becoming the party’s nominee and then went on to speak of conservative values. Until the very end, people paid attention and applauded.

I will do everything in my power to see that Hillary is not elected to the presidency. But, you really have to admire Ted Cruz, a man who stood up to the establishment and the media and told them of his core values: constitutional conservatism. When met with strong and furious opposition, he smiled and thanked his tormentor for bring up an issue – and then talked about constitutional conservatism some more. This is what a politician with principles looks like. This is the man every one says they want in Washington. And yet, when push came to shove, the big-mouths and pseudo-conservatives buckled. All because they knew Ted Cruz could and would transform the corrupt culture and deny them power, perks, privileges, and profits as he enabled Americans, all Americans, to pursue an opportunity for a better life.

ONE PICTURE TELLS YOU WHY THE PROGRESSIVES STAND BY AND WATCH BLACKS MURDERED IN THE INNER CITIES ...;

In a stunning display of hypocrisy and pandering, the progressive socialist democrats are honoring the mothers of two black thugs. Trayvon Martin who viciously attacked a member of neighborhood watch and was shot to death in self-defense. And, Michael Brown who viciously attacked a police officer and was shot grappling for the officer’s duty weapon. Brown disengaged and then re-attacked the officer who killed the six-foot-five-inch behemoth to protect his own life. Both had engaged in criminal activities. Both shown in pictures that painted a false image. Both thugs who would have been forgotten except for the progressive socialist democrat agitators and activists who saw an opportunity to advance their political agenda.

So remember this when watching the DNC convention, their platform is built on dividing America into cadres of victims who are told that they need to elect progressive socialist democrats to redress their grievances …

TRUMP ACCEPTANCE SPEECH (2016)

dt-lion-logo

I really did not want to comment on Trump’s acceptance speech, but I am getting quite a few emails asking for my opinion …

Coincidently, today, a long-time reader decided that she and her husband would unsubscribe from the email delivery of my blog because, while she supported Ted Cruz, she felt that I needed to be on board with the Trump campaign to avoid the disaster that is Hillary Clinton. I respect her opinion, especially if telling the truth about Trump bothers her sensibilities.

But, it precisely this “team effort” that got us where we are – as both former Speaker of the House John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell demanded that all Republicans get on board while they handed the Congress to President Obama, failing to protect the “separation of powers” and selling out the American people paying their salaries, perks, and privileges.

No, I do not want to see Hillary Clinton elected. But, I am not prepared to compromise my credentials as a constitutional conservative or trying to keep a GOP majority in the House and Senate. Hopefully with more constitutional conservatives.

  • The speech was overly long and somewhat boring to me.
  • The speech was filled with “what” and nothing about “how.”
  • The speech has a number of implied assumptions, beginning with a willing Congress, a willingness to massively increase spending and taxes, and a willingness to accept the corruption that is the union legacy.
  • The speech had a number of things that were authoritarian, unconstitutional, and smacked of pandering.
  • The speech had a number of things that were bureaucratic nightmares.
  • The speech overlooked the fact that our enemies have a vote as do our trading partners.
  • The speech grated on my nerves as Trump persisted in yelling and gesticulating. Attacking Hillary over and over as is his nature.

You might ask, “Is there anything I liked?”

I like Ivanka, Donald, Jr., Eric, and Barron.

I liked that Trump is using the Dick Morris prescriptive of “triangulation,” taking the traditional topics of the progressive socialist democrats such as those dealing with the poor, the middle class, the gays, and woman’s and minority rights, and making them his own. Dick Morris, if you remember, was the pollster, strategist, and consigliore to Bill and Hillary Clinton. Trump is well-versed in progressive ways, only having been a recent convert to the Republican Party – and it’s globalist/elitist/establishment wing. Therefore, his message can resonate with progressives.

What he could have done …

All throughout the speech, I thought of Ronald Regan’s “shining city on a hill” and how Trump might have used the metaphor of a beautiful skyscraper – not unlike the Twin Towers – where you must first remove the existing debris and prepare the land to receive the foundation. Building upward, higher and higher until the building’s strong structure was complete and you could turn to the build-out and customization of the interior. Leaving a proud symbol of accomplishment. And, one that requires common goals, a common purpose, and everyone working together in unity.

Bottom line …

Yada, Yada, Yada. Unlike President Reagan’s uplifting speech, Trump’s dystopian view of America was a downer. Championing himself as the voice of the poor, oppressed, and middle class was ludicrous. It is my opinion that what is needed to make America great is a return to our core American values, individualism, voluntary cooperation, and above all, the willingness to overcome apathy and actually make a difference.

AN ILL-TEMPERED GROUP OF TRUMP SUPPORTERS BOOED TED CRUZ FOR NOT ENDORSING DONALD TRUMP

UPDATE: To answer the question if the outrage against Ted Cruz was staged …

Cruz doubles down: I told Trump three days ago ‘I’m not going to endorse you’

Sen. Ted Cruz said Thursday he told Donald Trump by phone several days ago that he wasn't going to endorse him and that the Trump campaign saw his speech a few hours before he delivered it on Wednesday.

Click the link above and read the story above to see how an honorable man handles political controversy while all about him are attacking.

Ted Cruz was met with a warn welcome and a positive audience as he delivered most of his RNC speech. With a vocal segment of rabid Trump supporters, especially the New York delegation that was chanting ‘endorse Trump’  and loudly booing as they realized that Cruz did not end his speech with a ringing endorsement of Donald Trump and a call for party unity …

It has been reported that Trump’s team actively whipped the booing.

tc (3)

I am not surprised that Ted Cruz did not openly and enthusiastically endorse Donald Trump. He is a constitutional conservative, a man of honor, a man of principle, and above all, a protective father and husband.

It would be counter to his character to do more than graciously congratulate Donald Trump on winning the GOP nomination when his wife and father was viciously attacked by Trump forces. For all of the times that Donald Trump called him “Lyin Ted” when Trump openly lied, then lied about lying, and then openly declared he never said what he said – brazenly and shamelessly, even when confronted with recorded evidence of his own words.  I have heard Ted Cruz apologize when he has accidently hurt someone, but Donald Trump makes a point of never apologizing – even demonstrating that very point to Leslie Stahl in the 60-Minutes Trump/Pence interview. The one that saw Mike Pence look like a “deer in the headlights” – even when royally granted permission to differ with the emperor without clothes.

Mr. “No Class” Trump …

Can you even imagine what his Twitter feed might look like as he deals with world leaders and other important people?

Damage control with the Trump ass-kissing New Gingrich …

Ted Cruz said you can vote your conscience for anyone who will uphold the constitution. In this election, there is only one candidate who will uphold the constitution."

"So, to paraphrase Ted Cruz, if you want to protect the constitution of the United States, the only possible candidate this fall is the Trump-Pence Republican ticket. That way, we have a Republican ticket to implement Republican principles in Washington."

Buyer’s remorse?

nydn

"When Ted Cruz is the grownup who does the right thing, your party might be in serious trouble," the caption reads.

It was said in not-so-hushed tones that when Ronald Reagan was not nominated over Gerald Ford, that during Reagan’s impromptu speech, many came to realize that they had nominated the wrong man. Reagan did not sulk, promised to fight on for the conservative cause, and came back to win in a landslide – two times. I am not saying that Ted Cruz is Reagan, but he will fight on for conservative causes, And, no doubt the day after the convention, think about 2020 while helping down-ballot GOP conservatives.’'

Bottom line …

That Donald Trump did not reach out to Ted Cruz, with an apology or a gesture to heal the rift between the constitutional conservatives and the establishment – and appears to be reaching out to the Bernie Sanders crowd -- speaks more to the problematical nature of the Trump candidacy. I am waiting until Trump gives his TelePrompTer speech to see if he will capitalize on another opportunity to create unity within the party.

The Cruz take-away was not to stay home in November, but to vote.

"To those listening, please, don't stay home in November."  "Stand, and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution."

In my mind Ted Cruz did not break his pledge to support the eventual GOP candidate. His muted support came in the form of promoting constitutional conservatism and not openly attacking Trump – but then again, Cruz was always gracious when Trump was malicious; continuing to attack the other GOP candidates after Cruz’s withdrawal and after becoming the presumptive nominee.

Tomorrow is the end of the GOP convention cycle and, as my best friend Al is always saying, “we shall see what we shall see.”

WHAT CAN I SAY: A BIGGER EGOMANIAC THAN BARACK OBAMA IS NOW THE OFFICIAL GOP NOMINEE ...

dt-lion-logo

Will Hillary Clinton withdraw for “health reasons” and will the GOP nominee face a more likable Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren?

Bottom line …

GOPHN

The goal is now three-fold.

  • To defeat whoever becomes the nominee of the progressive socialist democrats, if only to keep a socialist from packing the Supreme Court of the United States with progressives.
  • To insure that there is a GOP majority in the Senate, and if possible, the House. With the removal of Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan from the leadership.
  • To pressure Donald Trump and his cadre of second-rate Bob Dole re-tread advisors to move more to the conservative point of view rather than moving to the left to accommodate former Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders supporters.

Our nation is in trouble, and I am not convinced that Donald Trump is the solution – but I am convinced that another progressive socialist democrat that follows Barack Obama’s policies would lead our nation closer to ruin.

To all of you mealy-mouthed conservatives and commentators who, for years, wanted a Reaganesque constitutional conservative and turned your back on Ted Cruz, your words mean little or nothing any more. With the exception of Mark Levin and a few others, nobody was willing to risk losing even a small portion of their audience to help convince the establishment GOP that they should turn away from establishment types like Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan to support Ted Cruz.

Mitch McConnell ceded great Congressional power to the executive branch when he disallowed the Iran agreement to be treated as a treaty subject to Senate ratification. Paul Ryan ceded the power of the purse to fund all of the Obama initiatives that they campaigned against. We gave them majorities in both the House and the Senate and they squandered the opportunity as much as George Bush and his crony capitalists.

I can only hope that the GOP has one more life to live, unlike the California GOP which serves as a well-paid and pampered opposition to the progressive socialist democrats who are destroying the formerly golden State of California.

We are so screwed.

BLACK LIVES MATTER ONLY DURING ELECTIONS, NOT SO MUCH IN THE INNER CITIES...

What the hell is happening here?

bog

Like his humble-bragging, President Barack Obama, on one hand, claims he supports the law enforcement as he eulogizes murdered police officers; but on the other hand, the President, his fellow travelers, his former and current Attorneys General are out in the media suggesting that there is systemic racism in the nation’s police departments. He condemns the act of murder, but does not condemn the person or the organizations they represent. All while groups like Black Lives Matter continue their inflammatory and irresponsible rhetoric and, in many cases, a coded incitement of more violence.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Barack Obama, his fellow travelers, and the progressive socialists are doing everything they can to denigrate America and agitate for the fundamental transformation of our nation into a more authoritarian socialist/communist-style nation à la the European Model of Socialism.

Heather MacDonald has published (“The War on Cops: How the New Attack on Law and Order Makes Everyone Less Safe”) credible statistics that Blacks commit homicides at a rate eight times greater than both Whites and Hispanics combined and Black males between the ages of 14 and 17 commit gun homicide at nearly 10 times the rate of white and Hispanic male teens combined -- making our inner cities resemble war zones rather than part of a civilized society. So why isn’t President Obama declaring war on those who are enabling genocide on our own shores?

And here is Hillary Clinton Pandering to the ACLU (American Communist Lawyers Union) …

bs-hillary-clinton

Clinton decries police killings and shootings at the NAACP annual convention.

Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, spoke at the NAACP’s annual conference Monday in Cincinnati. Clinton, a former secretary of state and U.S. senator, decried the spate of shootings, including the most recent murders of police in Baton Rouge, and she called for criminal justice reform. “This madness has to stop,” she said.

Excerpts – [My comments in bracketed blue italics]

Hello, NAACP. It is so good to be here with all of you.

So as the president has said, indeed as he exemplifies, we’ve come a long way, but you know and I know that we have so much further to go. We were cruelly reminded of that with the recent deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, two more black man killed in police incidents, this time in Louisiana and Minnesota. And then in Dallas, five police officers killed while serving and protecting peaceful protesters targeted because they were police. And then, of course, yesterday, three police officers murdered in an apparent premeditated ambush in Baton Rouge.

[Two men armed with weapons who failed to obey police commands and either fought the police (Sterling) or made furtive, and ultimately fatal, movements that caused the officer to fear for his life. Look how Clinton uses an almost throwaway line to mention police officers murdered in cold blood by a member of a Black Separatist movement. There is no moral equivalence between Black thugs and those who act inappropriately and the innocent police officers who were assassinated.]

This madness has to stop.

Watching the news from Baton Rouge yesterday, my heart broke. Not just for those officers and their grieving families, but for all of us. We have difficult, painful, essential work ahead of us to repair the bonds between our police and our communities and between and among each other. We need one another to do this work and we need leaders, like the NAACP.

[Excuse me! It is people like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, the progressive socialist democrats and the ACLU that views everything through the lens of exploitable race relations. It is the Black community that does not cooperate with the police in crime prevention or investigation. It is the Black community that is out of control.]

We need police officers to help us make progress. These murderers threaten all of that. Killing police officers is a terrible crime. That’s why our laws treat the murderers of police so seriously, because they represent the rule of law itself. If you take aim at that and at them, you take aim at all of us. Anyone who kills a police officer and anyone who helps must be held accountable.

[I didn’t see Barack Obama demand the return of a Black cop killer from her “political asylum” in Cuba when Obama handed the Castro brothers a goodie bag with nothing for America in return.]

And as president, I will bring the full weight of the law to bear and making sure those who kill police officers are brought to justice. There can be no justification, no looking the other way. We all have to make sure and pray it ends. The officers killed yesterday in Baton Rouge were named Montrell Jackson, Matthew Gerald, Brad Garafola. When they died, they were responding to a call about a man with a gun.

How many families — how many more families would be paying the price if we did not have brave men and women answering those calls? That’s why I’m haunted by the image of what the officers in Dallas were doing when they died, protecting a peaceful march, talking with the protesters.

[Isn’t Black Lives Matter the very same group that marched and screamed, “Pigs in a blanket, fry’em like bacon?” A group headed by socialist/communist agitators who want to bring about a revolution?]

The deaths of Alton and Philando drove home how urgently we need to make reforms to policing and criminal justice… how we cannot rest until we root out implicit bias and stop the killings of African-Americans.

[No! Blacks need to obey police officers when they are stopped. No fights, no struggling, and no reaching for a gun. Most of the police-involved shootings involved criminals or people who did not comply with an officer’s direction.]

Because there is, as you know so well, another hard truth at the heart of this complex matter. Many African-Americans fear the police.

[Of course, many Blacks fear the police. Due to the constant barrage of propaganda from the self-serving politicians and religious leaders who need to demonize the police rather than take responsibility for their failures. Entire careers and fortunes have been built on anti-police rhetoric – Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton come to mind.]

We must reform our criminal justice system because everyone is safer when there is respect for the law and when everyone is respected by the law.

[Considering the current situation bemoaned by politicians and religious leaders, are we to believe that the people in charge, the mayors, prosecutors, judges, and juries are all racist to bring about such a disproportionate “racist” result? Show me the names of people who are responsible for racism. You might start with Mosby who prosecuted police officers for political gain rather than admit there was no evidence of wrongdoing.]

And let’s admit it, there is clear evidence that African- Americans are disproportionately killed in police incidents compared to any other group.

And African-American men are far more likely to be stopped and searched by police, charged with crimes and sentenced to longer prison terms than white men convicted of the same offenses.

[There is also clear evidence that Blacks commit a disproportionate number of crimes and that they are more likely to evade the law when confronted by police officers. Again, show me these racist judges and juries who are convicting innocent men and women or giving them longer prison sentences. Have you heard of uniform sentencing guidelines, and the leniency shown in most plea bargains where gun charges are dropped for a guaranteed conviction on a lesser charge? ]

These facts tell us something is profoundly wrong. We can’t ignore that, we can’t wish it away. We have to make it right. That means end-to-end reform in our criminal justice system, not half measures, but a full commitment with real follow-through.

That’s why the very first speech I gave in this campaign back in April of 2015 was about criminal justice reform.

And the next president should make a commitment to fight for the reforms we so desperately need — holding police departments like Ferguson accountable.

[There was nothing wrong with the Ferguson Police Department, but everything wrong with those politicians who failed to protect their city. Remember, burning down your city and looting stores is peaceful civil protest? Remember, Ferguson is where a six-foot-five thug viciously attacked a police officer and grappled for the officer’s duty weapon where he was first shot. And after retreating, charged the officer again – where he was shot fatally. No hands up, don’t shoot. The lie created and spread by the Black Lives Matter movement and disproved legally by forensics.]

<Source>

Bottom line …

Capture9-5-2012-11.27.16 PM

One needs only to look at what the progressive socialist democrats have done to Blacks in the inner cities. Billions of unaccountable dollars meant for the reversal of decline and decay have been squandered or diverted into the pockets of the special interests. These are the people who refused school vouchers and support the unions controlling education – graduating functional illiterates year after year. With some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation, the day-to-day slaughter of blacks exceeds that is often found in foreign war zones. These are the people who have disarmed the law-abiding citizens leaving them to be the victims of criminals, thugs, and crazies in so-called gun-free zones. These are the people who are importing illegal aliens to take Black jobs and low-cost housing. These are the people who buy corrupt reverends and ministers with “walking around money” and photo-ops with the politicians.

And now comes Hillary Clinton to continue the moral and financial corruption of Barack Obama and his socialist policies.

We are so screwed.

DID DONALD TRUMP ENGAGE A CUT-RATE SPEECH WRITER FOR MELANIA?

UPDATE: Trump uses Hillary Defense: Accepts responsibility without accountability …

Trump speechwriter takes blame for cribbing Obama remarks

A speechwriter for the Trump campaign took the blame Wednesday for including remarks in Melania Trump’s speech that sounded almost identical to those delivered by first lady Michelle Obama.

Meredith McIver said she offered to resign over the gaffe Tuesday, but Donald Trump — the GOP’s presidential nominee — refused to accept it, saying it was an “innocent mistake.”

I apologize for the confusion and hysteria my mistake has caused,” Ms. McIver said.

She said the problem began when Mrs. Trump read passages from Mrs. Obama’s 2008 speech over the phone, and Ms. McIver wrote them down and later included them in the speech she was writing. Mrs. Trump “has always liked” the first lady, Ms. McIver said. “I did not check Mrs. Obama’s speeches. This was my mistake and I feel terrible for the chaos I have caused Melania and the Trumps, as well as to Mrs. Obama. No harm was meant,” Ms. McIver said.

Just hours earlier, the Trump campaign had insisted the words were Mrs. Trump’s own. We don’t really know what was done and who it was done by,” campaign manager Paul Manafort said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “As far as we’re concerned, the speech is Melania’s speech.” <Source>

Is this a glimpse into the modus operandi of the proposed Trump Administration or is it the way all political campaigns operate. One can easily imagine the same scenario being used on the far more serious matter of the video and Benghazi. Where someone, Ben Rhodes perhaps, took responsibility for the talking points that mislead the nation, offered to resign, and Obama graciously gave him a pass. Rather than deny, lie, and then obstruct justice. At least the Trump campaign provided the facts, appeared to take responsibility – even without accountability – and is ready to move one. The speech affair only a footnote in history to be ignored by everyone except partisans and historians. However, the real responsibility lies with Paul Manafort or his staff who did not check the speech before it was delivered – perhaps running it through a plagiarism detector like Grammerly.

Reminder ...

President Obama was accused of plagiarism by Hillary Clinton in 2008 for allegedly borrowing the words of  Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. And everyone's crazy uncle, Joe Biden, was alleged to be a plagiarist when he borrowed the words of British Labor Party leader Neil Kinnock. Nothing to see here folk, move along. We have bigger problems than noting Melania's speechwriters were both lazy and stupid.

UPDATE: Anatomy of a Trump defense …

Paul Manafort: There was no 'cribbing' of Michelle Obama's speech by Melania Trump - Washington Times

Donald Trump’s campaign chairman said Tuesday that Melania Trump used “common words” in her speech Monday night at the Republican National Convention, calling the notion that she cribbed from a speech first lady Michelle Obama gave in 2008 “crazy” and “absurd.”  [OCS: Everything is crazy, absurd, and unthinkable.]

There’s no cribbing of Michelle Obama’s speech,” Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort said on CNN’s “New Day.” [OCS: Deny, deny, deny.]

“These were common words and values that she cares about — her family, things like that.” [OCS: Nothing to see here, move along.]

“I mean, she was speaking in front of 35 million people last night,” Mr. Manafort said. “She knew that. To think that she would be cribbing Michelle Obama’s words is crazy.” [OCS: crazy is repeated.]

“Certainly, there’s no feeling on her part that she did it,” he said. “What she did was use words that are common words. To think that she would do something like that, knowing how scrutinized her speech was going to be last night, is just really absurd.” [OCS: With Trump it is always about the “universal out” – feelings. Like his net worth is dependent on how he feels.  Lies and plagiarism also use common words – no defense there. Repeat that it is an absurdity. The truth is that she did not write the speech, so why should she feel responsible?]

Mr. Manafort also said on “CBS This Morning” he doesn’t think Mr. Trump feels there’s anything to fire someone about. <Source>

Original post …

We all know, and Donald is constantly reminding us, that he associates with, and employs, only “the best” people …

A paragraph from Melania Trump’s 2016 GOP Convention Speech …

From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect. They taught and showed me morals in their daily life. That is the lesson that I continue to pass along to our son. And we need to pass those lessons on to many generations to follow because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.

A paragraph from Michelle Obama’s 2008 DNC  Convention Speech …

And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you’re going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don’t know them, and even if you don’t agree with them.

And Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values, and pass them on to the next generation. Because we want our children — and all children in this nation — to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.

Melania …

Michelle …

From the Trump Organization …

Statement from senior communications adviser Jason Miller …

"In writing her beautiful speech, Melania's team of writers took notes on her life's inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking," Miller said. "Melania's immigrant experience and love for America shone through in her speech, which made it such success."

Maybe “The Donald” is going to cut costs and reduce the size of government with creative repurposing, by recycling used rhetoric and documents from the past. Because there is little or no chance that Melania Trump wrote her own speech. One can only hope.

Bottom line …

Look for more of his “best people” because from what I have seen, it is the RNC organization that is carrying the load because Donald Trump was ill-prepared to mount a national campaign, let alone fund one from his personal funds as promised. He has already proven that he has thrown in with the establishment by allowing House Speaker Paul Ryan, RNC Chairman Reince Preibus, and convention consultant Paul Manafort to allow the rules committee to give Preibus unprecedented powers and to squelch the demand from the convention floor for a roll-call vote on the acceptance of the rules committee’s recommendations.

We are so screwed … but not as much as if Hillary Clinton is elected.

OBAMA’S SPEECH TO THE DIPLOMATS: YES, THERE WAS A TERRORIST ATTACK IN FRANCE, BUT LOOK HOW GREAT I AM ...

There is little doubt in my mind that President Obama is not only a malignant narcissist living in his own world, but that the world he lives in is so far from reality as to pose a clear and present danger to the people of the United States and our allies.

One need only consider his recent remarks at a July 15th, 2016 reception to see how far out of touch Obama appears to be …

WHLOGO-MOD

Remarks by the President at Diplomatic Corps Reception

<Excerpts>

Obviously, we come here with heavier hearts than normal.  Overnight in Nice, we witnessed another tragic and appalling attack on the freedom and the peace that we cherish.

I spoke with President Hollande earlier today.  And in addition to conveying deep condolences, I reminded him that France is America's oldest ally and one of our strongest.  We owe our freedom to each other.  Americans and French have stood together for two centuries.  And I told President Hollande that we will stand united now -- in our grief; in our praying for the many who are injured, many of whom are fighting for their lives.  And we pledge to stand with our French friends as we defend our nations against this scourge of terrorism and violence.

[Much of the terrorism in France comes from their welcoming stance on immigration over the years without any attempt to integrate the immigrants into French social structures. Without assimilation, the Muslim immigrants have built enclaves that appear immune to standard policing practices and remain a hotbed of dissatisfaction and destructive actions. And, let us not forget, France is one of the most openly anti-Semitic nations on the face of the Earth.]

And this is a threat to all of us.  We don’t know all the details, but what we know is the capacity of even a single individual to do extraordinary harm to our people, to our way of life.  A lot of nations represented here today have been impacted this year and in previous years.  In recent weeks, we’ve seen heinous attacks, inspired or directed by ISIL, here in the United States, in Turkey, in Iraq, in Bangladesh, in Saudi ArabiaAnd these terrorists are targeting and killing innocent people of all backgrounds and all faiths, including Muslims.  And I know I speak for all of us when I say that these individuals and these networks are an affront to all of our humanity.

[Which is worse, Saudi Arabia supporting Islam and terrorism worldwide or watching them attacked by terrorists who are dissatisfied with the extended Royal Family?]

Many of the nations that are represented here today are part of our global coalition against ISIL.  And I want to take this opportunity to say once more:  We will not be deterred.  We will not relent.  We’re going to keep working together to prevent attacks and defend our homeland.  We are going to keep taking out ISIL leaders and pushing ISIL back in Syria and Iraq.  We’re going to keep standing with our partners, from Africa to Afghanistan.  And we are going to destroy this vile terrorist organization.

[What global coalition? Without Britain, Canada, and Australia, there are few members we can really trust. France, Germany, and Italy are iffy. ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) really stood for “I Saw Americans Fighting.” Killing the ISIL leadership is like killing cockroaches – another one rises up to take up the struggle. Are you telling me that, over the period of the last seven years, our military couldn’t defeat these rag-tag rebels? Especially when they were clustered together.]

And in contrast to these terrorists who only know how to kill and destroy, we’re going to win this fight by building; by never giving up on diplomacy to end the Syrian civil war; by working with partners around the world, including Muslim communities, to push back against hateful ideologies that twist and distort Islam -- a religion that teaches peace and justice and compassion.

[What world does this fool live in when he claims Islam teaches peace, justice, and compassion? Does he realize that ISIL, as he now calls it, is one of the purest forms of Islam – a derivative of the Wahhabism that the Saudis have spread around the world – building Mosques to teach Jihad and store weapons? There has been no push back against Saudi Arabia, the home of bin Laden and most of the terrorists that attacked the United States. More than Iraq or Afghanistan, we should have wiped out Saudi Arabia followed by Iran. We should have punished Pakistan by removing their nuclear capability – for hiding bin Laden and for providing nuclear technology to rogue nations like North Korea. The United Nations is not up to the task while Russia and China sit by and laugh.]

We will defeat these ideologies by offering a better vision of development and economic progress, so people, especially young people, have more hope and opportunity and are less susceptible to extremism and violence in the first place

[Right!!! We can’t fix our own inner cities under the leadership of this fool, but we are going to drag illiterate peasants with their 12th century practices into the 21st century.]

And we will continue to promote political opportunity and democracy so citizens have a say in their future.

And we will win this fight by staying true to our values -- values of pluralism and rule of law and diversity and freedoms, like the freedom of religion, freedom of speech and assembly -- the very freedoms that the people of Nice were celebrating last night on Bastille Day.

[Is President Obama so effin’ stupid as to ignore the fact that many of the countries he is speaking about. Saudi Arabia in particular, are monarchies or theocracies; and that freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of assembly are openly suppressed as a matter of state policy?]

In the wake of last night’s attacks, we’ve heard more suggestions that all Muslims in America be targeted, tested for their beliefs; some deported or jailed.  And the very suggestion is repugnant and an affront to everything that we stand for as Americans.

[Never one to miss an opportunity to denigrate America or attack his political opposition, Obama just rolls along spouting nonsense.]

We cannot give in to fear, or turn on each other, or sacrifice our way of life.  We cannot let ourselves be divided by religion -- because that’s exactly what the terrorists want.

[Perhaps President Obama is not as smart as people think, believing that we are looking at individual terrorist acts that are not part of a theatre-wide religious war between the Sunnis, Shia, and the unbelievers. Wherever you see terrorism, you are more than likely to see Muslims. And they are fighting for their way of life – a strict interpretation of Islam that sees no divide between church and state. The implementation of Sharia law governs all who remain in the region.]

We should never do their work for them.  And here in the United States, our freedoms -- including freedom of religion -- help keep us strong and safe, and we have to be vigilant and defend our security and our freedoms.

[Having a constitutional guarantee of religious freedom is not a suicide pact, nor should it compel us to accommodate the beliefs of those who would kill us. Repeating the French experiment of immigration without assimilation is likely to bring about the same result – increased dissatisfaction with the United States resulting in terrorist acts perpetrated by home-grown terrorists.]

And all of us -- whatever nations we represent here -- I think have to step back and reflect on what we are doing to eliminate this kind of chronic violence.

[We are doing little or nothing to eliminate this kind of chronic violence because: one, it is based on a religion that is immutable according to the Qur’an; and two, the religion commands jihad to spread the religion. It is a binary decision. When faced with an enemy that welcomes death to reach a better afterlife, you kill them before they kill you. And, to up the ante, you bury them in pigskin or allow the pigs to eat their remains to deny them access to the afterlife. Gruesome, but better than seeing your children mutilated by those who believe everyone not of their faith is subhuman and does not deserve to live: including men, women, and children.]

It's been a difficult several weeks in the United States.  But the divide that exists is not between races and ethnicities and religions; it is between people who recognize the common humanity of all people and are willing to build institutions that promote that common humanity, and those who do not -- those who would suggest that somebody is less than them because of their tribe, or their ethnicity, or their faith, or their color.  And those impulses exist in all our countries.  And those impulses, when we do not speak out against them and build strong institutions to protect people from those impulses, they can take over, they can be unleashed -- so that all of us have responsibilities, not just a few.

[When Obama speaks of “institutions that promote common humanity,” he is usually referring to an international one-world authoritarian order that transcends boundaries, sovereignty, and the U.S. Constitution.]

I want to say that even as we are relentless against terrorists, it's also worthy for us to recognize that our nations have worked together for security and peace and human dignity around the world.  I want to thank so many of your countries for the partnership that we’ve forged and the progress we’ve achieved together over these past eight years in rescuing the global economy and securing vulnerable nuclear materials.

[Relentless? President Obama has done more to aid and abet our enemies while openly disparaging and disadvantaging our allies than any other president in the history of the United States. Remember the red line that was crossed when the Syrians gassed their own people. Remember the fully-loaded American aircraft who had to jettison their payloads when there were civilians near a military target. Who in the right mind uses a B-2 bomber to scout a hut with a suspected militant? This is Bill Clinton bombing an aspirin factory multiplied by thousands.]

A comprehensive deal to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.  Halting the spread of Ebola, and thereby saving countless lives.  In Paris, the most ambitious agreement in history to fight climate change.  A new sustainable development set of goals to end extreme poverty and promote health and education and equality for all people, including women.

[Proof that Obama is delusional as well as insanely self-congratulatory. The Iran deal insured that this state sponsor of terrorism had billions to develop conventional arms, intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of reaching the United States, satellites that pose a threat to our military operations, and in the near future – nuclear weapons. Obama promised us tough inspections of nuclear materials, but hid the side-deal that allowed for self-reporting and month-long delays before inspectors could visit a “non-military” site. Climate change as a major threat? With climate timescales measured in thousands, tens of thousands, and millions of years? Poverty? Has the fool not visited the inner cities in his home town of Detroit where black-on-black violence exceeds that found in many war zones? Equality, you mean like the women in Saudi Arabia who cannot drive or appear in public without a male relative? ]

And through the efforts of many of you, we've continued to try to move beyond old conflicts:  Supporting the transition to democracy in Burma.  Forging a new partnership with Vietnam.  Deepening our new chapter of engagement with the Cuban people.  Helping to support the efforts in Colombia to end the decades-long conflict.  That’s the power of diplomacy.  That’s what’s possible when our nations and our peoples work together in a spirit of mutual interest and mutual respect.

[Obama eased the internal Cuban crisis that threatened to overthrow the old communist guard and insured that their oppressive regime would remain in power for the foreseeable future. He did make it easier for their spies to enter the United States. And, nothing changed for the Cuban people.]

And what a contrast to the death and nihilism that terrorists offer.  What a powerful reminder of the progress and opportunity and hope that we can advance when, as nations and as peoples and as individuals, we refuse to be defined by our differences alone, and we remember that we are all part of one human race.  Even on difficult days like this, that’s what gives me hope.  And that’s what should give us all hope.  Because on this planet of more than seven billion people, the hatred and violence of a few ultimately is no match for the love and decency and hard work of people of goodwill and compassion, so long as we stand up for those values and so long as we answer those who would undermine those values.

[Obama refuses to notice that Islamic nations are radically different from Western nations and some of them are willing to kill you, your wife, and your children.

All gather around the campfire while the progressive socialist democrats sing Kumbayah. The only thing that the terrorists respect is force and the willingness to use it to achieve a political solution. The terrorist get a vote and they say that we are not all part of the human race – only those in submission to Allah have the right to exist.]

I'm very proud of the work that we've done over these last seven and a half years in partnership with your countries.  And so long as I have the privilege of being the President of the United States, I will continue to stand alongside you to promote those values all across the world.

[Obama certainly has done much to promote Islam over America.]

Thank you very much, everybody.
