IT HAS NOW BEEN A WEEK SINCE I GAVE UP ON FOX CABLE AND I AM DOING JUST FINE

I have had a long relationship with Fox, but no longer. I have lost all respect for Bill O’Reilly, pretty much a Trump-like bloviating bully; Megyn Kelly, who seems to have adopted a diva-like snark; and Sean Hannity, who appears to have move from conservatism to establishment politics. All acting as cheerleaders for Donald Trump while proclaiming they are fair and balanced. Of course, I do not consider Bret Baer or Brit Hume in the same category; as both are straight-up honest brokers. As for Fox Business, I can’t even remember the channel and find nothing compelling to TiVo.

Bottom Line …

It appears that New York values have now pervaded my former favorite content provider. I am sorry to see that entertainment now trumps (pun intended) enlightenment and the informed conservative values that are needed to save our nation from the New Yorkers Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

INDIANA RAPIST BACKS TRUMP: TRUMP CHEERFULLY ACCEPTS AND TOUTS ENDORSEMENT! -- PROBLEMS WITH WOMEN?

TYSONENDORSESTRUMP

Once again the media image of Donald Trump cracks as Trump enthusiastically accepts the endorsement of a rapist …

Trump touts Mike Tyson's support in city where he committed rape

"Mike Tyson endorsed me," Trump told the crowd. "I love it. He sent out a tweet. Mike. Iron Mike. You know, all the tough guys endorse me. I like that, OK?

"But Mike said, 'I love Trump. I endorse Trump.' And that's the end. I'm sure he doesn't know about your economic situation in Indiana. But when I get endorsed by the tough ones, I like it, because you know what? We need toughness now. We need toughness." <Source>

Blaming the innocent victim …

Networks Skip Trump Touting Endorsement By Rapist Mike Tyson: ‘We Need Toughness’

Tyson was convicted of raping Sunday school teacher and honor student Desiree Washington. At the time, the New York Times explained, “The woman testified that Mr. Tyson had overpowered her in his hotel room, pinned her on a bed, stripped her, raped her and laughed while she cried in pain and begged him to stop.”

On the February 21, 1992 NBC Nightly News, just a few days after the guilty verdict, Trump offered this cringe-worthy defense of the boxer:

DONALD TRUMP: “It’s my opinion that, to a large extent, Mike Tyson was railroaded in this case... You have a young woman that was in his room, in his hotel late in the evening at her own will. You have a young woman who was seen dancing for the beauty contest, dancing with a big smile on her face. Looked happy as can be. <Source>

Was it was all about business and trying to buy politicians? …

The Time Donald Trump Tried to Get Mike Tyson Out of Going to Prison for Rape

Trump and Tyson are old friends who did business together in the late 1980s, when the real estate mogul promoted and hosted several of Tyson's fights at his Atlantic City casinos and even fashioned himself for a time as the boxer's "business adviser."  And in a largely forgotten episode, Trump came to the boxer's aid during one the darkest moments of Tyson's career—his 1992 conviction for raping a beauty queen. To save the champ from being locked up, Trump pitched a highly controversial proposal that would have essentially allowed Tyson to buy his way out of prison. To some observers, it looked like Trump was engaging in a form of bribery—or at least attempting to rig the system.

Over the years, Tyson's bouts had been highly lucrative for Trump's casinos, which paid millions to host the fights but reaped millions more in revenues from the surge in gambling that resulted during these highly anticipated events. In 1991, Tyson seemed destined for one of the biggest fights of his career, a face-off with then-heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield. As the groundwork was laid for this epic bout, it seemed like Trump might lose this event to his competitors in Las Vegas.

Then Tyson was arrested and convicted of raping 18-year-old Desiree Washington in Indianapolis.  More at: The Time Donald Trump Tried to Get Mike Tyson Out of Going to Prison for Rape | Mother Jones

What did the prosecuting attorney have to say about the endorsement?

Garrison To Trump: "Rapists Are Not Tough Guys"

Excerpts from Garrison’s show …

GREG GARRISON: Mr. Trump, tough is one thing, a serial rapist is quite something else. A 17-year-old girl, her clothes ripped off her, torn, all because in her naivete at 17, the fact that her brother and her father were huge Mike Tyson fans made her feel that she would be absolutely safe with him and boy was she wrong. I’ve been thinking about this all night. Kept me up. You know how I feel about this election stuff. I don’t want to throw rocks at anybody. I have my differences with Mr. Trump. I got a couple with Mr. Cruz. But this is where I want you to listen to me with both of your ears open.

I would ask Mr. Trump if I got to talk to him, you’ve raised daughters. I’m sure you didn’t have a daughter that didn’t do something improvident at some point or son for that matter.

Desiree Washington came to Indiana to compete in a Miss Black America contest. She was a very talented honor student. A Sunday school teacher. No, really. I’m not making that part up. No. So, she agrees to go out on the town with Mr. Tyson, who invited her to do so when he appeared at a rehearsal for the preparation of their big shows in the competition. He called her back. She said sure. What she got for her trouble was raped. Brutally, horribly raped. Tore her clothes. Tore her body. Destroyed her life. I see a news piece from back some time ago when Mr. Trump appears to have suggested it was her fault. I’ll tell you one thing Mr. Trump, had that been your daughter, those words would never have come out of your mouth. And you would never have thought about it.

He gets out of jail after doing three years of nothing but three squares and a rectangle in DOC here, it’s not six months until he rapes another woman.

So what does that mean about Mr. Trump? The leader of the free world needs to be rid of that kind of stuff and maybe considered in his information before he speaks or ingratiates himself to a thug like Mike Tyson.

Hear Garrison for yourself.

Bottom line …

It appears more and more that Donald Trump is a low-life, devoid of conservative core values and a lack of knowledge of the constitutional principles that made this nation great. He is a narcissistic opportunist who believes his money, position, and fixers can buy him the presidency.

We are so screwed.

TED CRUZ SELECTS RINO CARLY FIORINA FOR RUNNING MATE: AND IT IS OK!

On November 9, 2009, I commented on the candidacy of Carly Fiorina for the U.S. Senate race in California. She was well-educated, well-spoken, well-experienced, and well-qualified. But, in my humble opinion, she was a RINO and far from being a conservative.

My blog post …

[X] NO -- FIORINA IS A LIBERAL RINO (Republican In Name Only)

If there is anything worse than a far-left liberal democrat, it is a complacent RINO who will cross the aisle to vote with the democrats.

California has suffered greatly at the hands of its democrat legislature and its RINO Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who often acts like his ultra-liberal relatives.

The last thing we need is another rich Bay-area liberal posing as a Republican.

Want proof?

Look which Senate Republicans are endorsing Fiorina:

John McCain (R-AZ) – in spite of his POW status, McCain is extremely liberal, often voting with the democrats to offer legislation which is toxic to America. McCain-Feingold (campaign finance reform) which suppresses free speech and gave rise to people like George Soros. McCain-Kennedy, the Amnesty for Illegal Aliens. McCain-Lieberman which deals with global warming – in spite of the actual science.

Lindsey Graham (R-SC) – the strange liberal companion of John McCain who appears to echo McCain on many issues.

Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) who is a liberal professional politician from a political family.

Olympia Snowe (R-ME) who is an extremely liberal politician who often sides with the democrats over her fellow Republicans.

Susan Collins (R-ME) who acts like she is Olympia Snowe.

John Kyl (R-AZ) John McCain in-training. He once claimed that his legislative collaboration with Diane Feinstein was a high point in his career.

What we need …

California needs a strong conservative to represent California’s interests in Congress. People who can actually read and understand legislation. People who can stand up against a far-left liberal agenda and vote for things that can be proven and make sense. California needs a conservative Republican who can overcome complacency and resist corruption. At this point in time, I do not think that Carly Fiorina is that person. In fact, I can see very little difference between Fiorina and Barbara Boxer – except that Fiorina appears to have a positive IQ and can speak intelligently about a variety of subjects.

Just because California is a liberal state, does not mean that the Republican Pooh-Bahs need to select the most liberal Republican available … and one that is likely to support the political agenda of far-left liberal democrats

Personally, I think that all of Fiorina’s endorsers  should be tossed out of office before they can do further harm to our nation by pretending to be ethical, principled Republican conservatives.

Capitol Alert: Fiorina announces slew of Senate endorsements

Do I believe Carly Fiorina had a conservative epiphany as the progressive socialist democrat Donald Trump? Not likely. But that does not mean that her selection as Ted Cruz’s running mate is not a brilliant ploy. She is well-spoken, extremely articulate, and hold her own in any debate. Perhaps the best running mate for Ted Cruz when he makes his case for being able to counter Hillary Clinton and re-capture many of the women lost by Donald Trump and his crude and boorish behavior.

Bottom line …

So while I may not chose Fiorina to represent me in the Senate, she may be the perfect Vice Presidential candidate for Ted Cruz. So I trust Ted Cruz, the only constitutional conservative in the race to do the right thing for our nation, the constitution, and the constitutional conservative constituency.

BLACK LIVES MATTER: IF THEY WERE SERIOUS ABOUT THEIR MISSION?

Perhaps Black Lives Matter needs to quit interrupting political debates and promoting class warfare, chaos, and communist-style revolution to deliver a potent message …

blm-2

The person in the picture ran from the police after being stopped as a suspect in a previous shooting. In an escape attempt, the suspect allegedly faced off with a police officer and was shot and killed. The suspect's alleged gun was found at the scene.

So many of these deaths start with suspects running from law enforcement officials  and when cornered or confronted they either struggle or make threatening moves. I can understand a police officer being afraid for their lives -- especially when a number of officers have been executed in the streets, so why escalate the tension knowing that outcomes can be fatal?

Tensions on both sides are running high. Running away from law enforcement and making suspicious movements has become deadly. It is time to teach people how to interact safely and successfully with the authorities to prevent problems. So, instead of marching after the fact, some of these ministers can go to the streets to spread the word.

s4

You can bet that if these armed thugs get shot by the police, their families will lawyer-up, cry police brutality, claim excessive force, and sue the city for millions. Their mommies will say they are misunderstood, victims of the system, and were turning their lives around. Activists and agitators will march in protest – possibly sparking looting, rioting, and the destruction of public and private property. Note that they robbed a Muslim meat market.

Baltimore Plagued with Robberies by Young Black Men

The FBI is searching for a group of serial robbers in Baltimore they call the "Shotgun Four" for repeated armed robberies with a sawed-off shotgun at groceries and restaurants across the city. According to WBALTV, investigators believe the young black men, who appear to be in their late teens and/or early twenties, are tied to at least 10 robberies since March.

Abdul Aziz, the owner of that store, New Bazar Halal Meat, provided the FBI with the clearest pictures yet of three of them (seen above) thanks to the many cameras inside his establishment -- nearly 12. .

Baltimore can boast of being a focal point last year for the Black Lives Matter movement and the death of Freddie Gray, but it can also boast a rising homicide rate that rivals New York City.

Read more at: Baltimore Plagued with Robberies by Young Black Men

While there is historical precedent to fear police officers, it is now time to recognize that they are there to keep the public safe and should not be required to escalate every event into a life-threatening situation.

As for the agitators and activists, enough of the craziness on the backs of those who have died due to their own poor choices and actions. By all means investigate and prosecute bad cops -- but don't tar the entire law enforcement community with the broad brush of racism and lawlessness; because it is not true.

Time to remove politics and the political agenda from policing.

DRUDGE AND THE DONALD: A PATTERN AND PRACTICE OF HALF-TRUTHS?

It appears that Drudge, his pal conspiracy maven Alex Jones, Breitbart, and Fox News along with other allegedly conservative sites are all in for Donald Trump. So much so that they use half-truths and misleading headlines to convey a sense that Donald Trump (with his historically high negatives) is the de facto nominee. Even if the polls show that he cannot beat Hillary in a head-to-head matchup.

Truth be told, Trump has achieve a plurality … but not a majority of the delegates at this time. With John Kasich acting as a spoiler and Trump refusing to debate Ted Cruz mano-a-mano, I believe that Trump will not reach the required 1,237 delegates on the first ballot – unless he strikes a deal with key delegates – and that Cruz may win on a second ballot.

The lynchpin appears to be Indiana and Trumps victories today only indicate that he does well in liberal states with a preponderance of liberal republicans.

What the headline says is a half-truth at this point in time …

TEDCRUZ

You may not be able to mathematically achieve 1,237 electors on the first ballot – mainly due to Rubio and Kasich, but Kasich may not even be eligible to be nominated under existing convention rules and that Trump may receive less than 1,237 electors – thus it goes to a second ballot.

Trump is such a whiney progressive crybaby that he forgets most of the rules were in place since Abraham Lincoln and the state rules were well known in advance of the campaign. While he screams about Little Marco, Lyin’ Ted, and Low-Energy Bush, one must not forget that two-faced Donald lies with impunity like Hillary Clinton. In fact, he as more in common with Hillary Clinton than Bernie Sanders.

We are so screwed.

IS DONALD TRUMP THE GWYNETH PALTROW OF POLITICS?

TGP

There is no doubt about it, Gwyneth Paltrow is blond, good looking, and leads a fabulous life. She also sells goods and services on her weekly “lifestyle” publication where she and her minions promote and pontificate about subjects that are downright dubious, doubtful, and dangerous. People, many of whom are wanabees, wanting to emulate Paltrow’s fabulous lifestyle by seeking advice from people who appears to fit the classic definition of a charlatan; “a person falsely claiming to have a special knowledge or skill; a fraud.”

Gwyneth Paltrow and her publication, Goop, have been sharing her celebrity lifestyle since the site launched in 2008. It's jealousy-inducing for some, while others have complained that it's totally "out of touch."

But when it comes to health tips, the site is full of dodgy information, with unfounded warnings about things that are safe — like bras and sunscreen — and zealous promotion of things with little-to-no proven benefits — like cleanses and vaginal steaming, not to mention various trendy diets. Some of the alternative medicine practices on the site could even be dangerous. <Source>

Much can be said about “The Donald” and the Trump marketing machine. From the dodgy cast of characters to the dubious value of the various Trump products and promotions. His claim that he is a commonsense conservative republican is belied by the fact that he speaks not of smaller government, lower taxes, fewer regulations, but about taxing the rich, imposing tariffs, alienating other nations, and simply that the present government needs better management. Rarely mentioning the Constitution and returning our nation to a constitutional republic based on a civil society. His policy papers, written by others, are thin and devoid of real detail. Sort of like the broad strokes of Obamacare with little or no substance. He is Gwyneth Paltrow with dodgy hair.

What has gone wrong with our society …

The failure of the media to accurately report and analyze the news of the day; preferring to seek audience ratings by sensationalizing the bizarre and negative rather than the positive and uplifting. Pandering to celebrities and public officials for access in ways that obfuscate the truth and portray a false image. Giving more time to “evil” than “good” and promoting an un warranted moral equivalency under the guise of political correctness and civility. Thus the public has little faith in our political system, our elected officials, and those who appear to be part of the establishment.

The rise of politics as a profession in which a politician can earn significant amounts of money by trading on the perks, privileges, and protections of their office. Routinely selling access and votes to special interests and shutting out their constituency in the process. Gone are the days of the reluctant citizen-legislator who does their duty and then returns to private life.

The increasing size of the government based on a self-serving, well-paid bureaucracy that continues to create “make work” projects to enlarge the size, scope, revenues, and power of the government. Truth-be-told, our government is more dangerous to our economy, safety, and security than any other foreign entity.

The idea that we must allow our enemies to operate with impunity within our country, within our government, within our institutions; in some strange show of equality. The truth is simple: there is no equality between good and evil and right and wrong. The failure to name our enemy or seek an accord on a prudent course of action is colored by politics that pander, unofficially of course, to enemy nations as if there is some methodology to convince the man with a sword and a vengeance not to cut off your head.

But, worst of all, we have allowed our legislators to ignore the heavy lifting required by their sworn duties. How much easier is it to simply pass broad-brush legislation that allows the executive branch to make law and usurp the power of the legislative branch? How much easier is it to allow unelected and faceless bureaucrats to make and enforce the administrative rules and regulations than taking a stand which might be interpreted negatively by one’s constituency. And, it is those in the Senate that enable a partisan judiciary filled with ideologues who torture the Constitution to create a “fashionable” ruling.

Our Declaration of Independence gave us our country. Our Constitution gave us the rules to empower individuals and our states, and to curtail the power of the federal government which is limited to the enumerated powers contained therein.

Who, if not our elected representatives, have permitted the federal government to take the fruits of our labor and then use those very funds to bribe states into compliance with unconstitutional edicts? Who, if not our elected representatives, have permitted the federal government to purchase political power and votes by empowering a system tantamount to legal bribery and kickbacks?

And, when “We the People” are presented with a remedy for malfeasance in government, the election of constitutional conservatives, it is ignored by a significant portion of the population that is bedazzled and bamboozled by the magical mystery tour that is all about the cult of personality, misdirection, and promise of “freebies.”

Donald Trump is right – our system is rigged!

It is rigged in favor of the establishment and the party currently in power. And, the disingenuous Donald has failed to note that his populist cry about the people being disenfranchised by arcane voting rules has helped him to become the front-runner. Where he has thirty to forty percent of the popular vote and yet receives one-hundred percent of the delegates Or by the protestation of the disingenuous Donald, sixty to seventy percent of the voters are being disenfranchised by his very victory. You will notice that he only complains about states where he lost, is uncompetitive, or simply has ignored the voters by failing to participate in the election of delegates. Truth-be-told, the world-class businessman with access to the “best people” is both a fraud and a failure.

Bottom line …

It is one thing to be disaffected by the system and to be blinded by celebrity with their spin-tested bafflegab, but to allow any candidate or party to misdirect you from the purpose of our constitutional republic is unconscionable. Most people have it ass-backwards. It is not about selecting the party nominee; it is the party nominee convincing “We the People” that they have the knowledge, experience, and leadership ability to govern a large, multi-faceted government branch.

Much of what The Disingenuous Donald is saying is absolutely wrong or requires the power of Congress to legislate, fund, and implement. Unlike a CEO, Donald needs to persuade rather than order. Unlike a CEO, he cannot deal easily with those who do not go along to get along.

What has our nation come to when we have corrupt liars on both sides of the slate? Donald Trump is just like Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. Even worse, he is like Gwyneth Paltrow, selling her brand and spouting demonstrable untruths and nonsense designed to make the believers buy the bullshit. Of course, it could always be worth: Trump could be the Kim Kardashian of our times. A brand without worth except to those who are believers.

We are so screwed.

MEGYN KELLY DOES DONALD TRUMP...

kt

The sad fact is that Donald Trump is rating gold … a train wreck waiting to be watched and exploited for ratings. And, you can always tell the sycophants and employees because they are instructed to refer to Trump always as Mr. Trump.

It appears that Fox, Breitbart, Drudge, Alex Jones, and some of those who claim to support conservatism are all in for Trump lest  they miss the gravy train. Even if it means turning their back on the only constitutional conservative to come along since Ronald Reagan, Ted Cruz.

HILLARY CLINTON'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS ...

INDICT-HILL

Beyond her demonstrable failures in Lebanon and Libya, her attempt to hide official communications on her personal e-mail server, and her continuing pattern and practice of lying and obstruction of justice, can anyone say that this internet message is not true? If it is true, Hillary Clinton’s achievements go beyond bad judgement to outright criminality.

From the internet …

When Bill Clinton was president, he allowed Hillary to assume authority over a health care reform. Even after threats and intimidation, she couldn't even get a vote in a democrat-controlled congress.

This fiasco cost the American taxpayers about $13 million in cost for studies, promotion, and other efforts.

Then President Clinton gave Hillary authority over selecting a female attorney general. Her first two selections were Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood - both were forced to withdraw their names from consideration.

Next she chose Janet Reno - husband Bill described her selection as "my worst mistake."

Some may not remember that Reno made the decision to gas David Koresh and the Branch Davidian religious sect in Waco, Texas resulting in dozens of deaths of women and children – and precipitating the Tim McVeigh retaliation bombing of the Murrah Federal Building with its horrific loss of life.

Husband Bill allowed Hillary to make recommendations for the head of the Civil Rights Commission. Lani Guanier was her selection. When a little probing led to the discovery of Ms. Guanier's radical views, her name had to be withdrawn from consideration.

Apparently a slow learner, husband Bill allowed Hillary to make some more recommendations. She chose former law partners Web Hubbel for the Justice Department, Vince Foster for the White House staff, and William Kennedy for the Treasury Department.

Her selections went well: Hubbel went to prison, Foster (presumably) committed suicide, and Kennedy was forced to resign.

Many younger votes will have no knowledge of "Travelgate." Hillary wanted to award unfettered travel contracts to Clinton friend Harry Thompson - and the White House Travel Office refused to comply. She managed to have them reported to the FBI and fired. This ruined their reputations, cost them their jobs, and caused a thirty-six month
investigation. Only one employee, Billy Dale was charged with a crime, and that of the enormous crime of mixing personal and White House funds. A jury acquitted him of any crime in less than two hours.

Still not convinced of her ineptness, Hillary was allowed to recommend a close Clinton friend, Craig Livingstone, for the position of Director of White House security.

When Livingstone was investigated for the improper access of about 900 FBI files of Clinton enemies (Filegate) and the widespread use of drugs by White House staff, suddenly Hillary and the president denied even knowing Livingstone, and of course, denied knowledge of drug use in the White House.

Following this debacle, the FBI closed its White House Liaison Office after more than thirty years of service to seven presidents.

Next, when women started coming forward with allegations of sexual harassment and rape by Bill Clinton, Hillary was put in charge of the "bimbo eruption" and scandal defense. Some of her more notable decisions in the debacle were:

She urged her husband not to settle the Paula Jones lawsuit.  After the Starr investigation they settled with Ms. Jones.

She refused to release the Whitewater documents, which led to the appointment of Ken Starr as Special Prosecutor.

After $80 million dollars of taxpayer money was spent, Starr's investigation led to Monica Lewinsky, which led to Bill lying about and later admitting his affairs.

Hillary's devious game plan resulted in Bill losing his license to practice law for 'lying under oath' to a grand jury and then his subsequent impeachment by the House of Representatives.

Hillary avoided indictment for perjury and obstruction of justice during the Starr investigation by repeating, "I do not recall," "I have no recollection," and "I don't know" a total of 56 times while under oath.

Funny, subpoenaed documents appeared a year after the fact, in the White House living quarters, and with only Hillary Clinton’s fingerprints on the requested documents.

After leaving the White House, Hillary was forced to return an estimated $200,000 in White House furniture, china, and artwork that she had stolen.

What a swell party - ready for another four or eight years of this type of low-life mess?

Now we are exposed to the destruction of possibly incriminating emails while Hillary was Secretary of State and the "pay to play" schemes of the Clinton Foundation - we have no idea what shoe will fall next.

But to her loyal fans - "what difference does it make?"

Electing Hillary Clinton president would be like granting Satan absolution and giving him the keys to heaven!

Please pass this on. Our way of life may depend on it

ENJOY YOUR FREEDOM TODAY BECAUSE YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE IT TOMORROW

Bottom line …

If Hillary Clinton becomes the President, look for a continued pattern of using the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Internal Revenue Service as political attack dogs and to thwart any Clinton criminality. It was done once, as noted in the Barrett Report on the perjury of HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros … who went on to be a Board Member of Countrywide Funding after being pardoned by Bill Clinton on his last day in office – along with Marc Rich, the tax evader who appeared on the FBI’s most wanted list and who had extensive oil dealings with IRAN in spite of an official embargo.

And, let’s not forget about the influence peddling by Hillary’s brother, Tony Rodham.

We are so screwed.

INTRODUCING TWO-FACED TRUMP

First it was “Little Marco,” then “Lyin Ted,” then “Crooked Hillary” --- all from “Two-faced Trump” …

two-faced-trump

Has anyone else noticed that Two-Faced Trump sounds like a progressive socialist democrat – using “Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals” when he speaks?

He was a progressive socialist democrat and supported the personal mandate on Obamacare. He claims to be a conservative republican and still supports the personal mandate on Obamacare.
He was pro-choice He is pro-life (but with exceptions)
He was tax the rich He is still tax the rich
He bought foreign goods for low prices and accepted lower quality He condemns foreign imports and wants tariffs
He said he would be impartial with Israel and the Palestinians He loves Israel
Planned Parenthood does good work Planned Parenthood should not get tax money

Who the hell knows what he will say or do – or even if he might negotiate away our freedoms and sovereignty?

Bottom line

We need a rational, steady hand on the tiller. Not a crazy narcissistic celebrity ego maniac. Vote for the ONLY constitutional conservative who keeps his word,  Ted Cruz.

ANAHEIM: RECALL COUNCILWOMAN KRIS MURRAY AND DISALLOW HER USE OF THE REPUBLICAN BRAND? (UPDATED)

UPDATE:

Presidential Politics Trumps Anaheim Council Meeting

Murray ultimately backed off after dozens of public speakers – including Trump supporters and residents who said they didn’t like Trump – criticized the resolution as an inappropriate intervention by the city government into a U.S. presidential campaign.

Any staff time that was dedicated to this issue should be billed directly to you [Murray].” said Jeanine Robbins, an Anaheim resident who said she didn’t like Trump’s rhetoric.

In the end, the council voted 3-2 to take no action on any resolutions.

Original Post …

With the growing problems of poverty, illiteracy, illness, and crime in Anaheim, one would think that the Anaheim City Council would have a better use for their time than considering a resolution condemning Donald Trump’s campaign rhetoric. Perhaps prioritizing expenditures on public safety and repairing or replacing the aging and decaying infrastructure in and around the city.

Kris_Murray

But, Anaheim City Councilwoman Kris Murray is urging the City Council to denounce the rhetoric of a presidential candidate in a highly public and prejudicial manner. There is no “moral duty” to speak out on anything that strikes one’s fancy codified in either the California Constitution or Anaheim’s City Charter.

In fact, Murray, a liberal Republican, appears to be misusing her office for the purpose of partisan politics and self-serving publicity. If anything, perhaps Murray should concentrate on serving her constituency with meaningful actions and performing the duties for which she was elected. If she finds Trump’s rhetoric reprehensible, let her resign and campaign for his opponent outside of the City Council. Or speak as a private person.

In her own words …

Taking a Stand Against Divisive Rhetoric in U.S. Presidential Race

This presidential election has seen political rhetoric and candidate behavior fall to new lows unbecoming our great nation.

At last night’s city council meeting, I called for a resolution condemning the rhetoric of Donald Trump and the violent actions of his staff and supporters, all condoned by Trump during this unprecedented presidential campaign.

Anaheim is the 10th largest city in the State of California and the largest city in the County of Orange. We are one of the oldest cities in the state with a diverse fabric of neighborhoods that make up our great city. Our population is more than 50 percent Latino, and we have one of the largest Muslim populations in the country. Anaheim is also one of the top tourist destinations in the world with nearly 26 million annual visitors. As elected officials, we have a moral obligation to speak out against bigotry and hate speech directed at those we represent.

Trump has viciously attacked women, people of many races, religion and creeds, veterans and POWs, representatives of the media who challenge his statements, many of our allied nations, local, state and national leaders, people of states who don’t vote in support of him, Republican party leaders who follow election law inconvenient to his campaign, and even most recently Pope Francis. In fact, anyone who engages in civil discourse that challenges him on a personal or policy level becomes the subject of vicious and malevolent attacks by Trump, his campaign and his supporters.

The actions of any presidential candidate must be held to the highest ethical standards. Trump has consistently denigrated the office he seeks and the people of this nation by extension. We can and must expect more from anyone seeking to serve as President of the United States and Commander in Chief of the nation’s armed forces.

Whether it is Trump or any candidate running for elected office in a representative republic, the survival of America’s fundamental principles requires civil discourse, understanding diverse views and moving forward with decisions benefiting society as a whole. No less is acceptable for the future leader of the free world.

The resolution condemning the words and actions of presidential candidate Donald Trump will be heard by the Anaheim City Council on Tuesday, April 26th and I respectfully ask for the community’s support to take this principled stand in our city.

If Murray’s assertion that “The actions of any presidential candidate must be held to the highest ethical standards.” is literally true, where is the proposed resolution to condemn Hillary Clinton for a pattern and practice of lying, corruption, and criminality?

Bottom line …

With pressing budgetary matters and infrastructure concerns, few really care about what Kris Murray or the Anaheim City Council thinks about Donald Trump or his actions. Perhaps Murray should make a statement about following the United States Constitution and upholding her sworn duties in the service to her constituency.

And leave the self-serving, self-aggrandizing, and shameless media ploy off the Anaheim Council Agenda.

I do not support Donald Trump, who appears to be, in thought and deed, a member of the establishment and a progressive socialist democrat. But we should not let our political institutions become platforms for party politics when there is so much wrong with matters under review in these institutions.

We are so screwed.
