From the Liar-in-Chief, President Barack Obama …

Obama says Syrian refugees are no bigger threat to U.S. than ‘tourists’

President Obama said Thursday that Syrian refugees are no more dangerous to the U.S. than tourists, and he accused Republican presidential candidates of stoking fears about the refugees and closing the Guantanamo Bay terrorist detention center to score political points.

Speaking to reporters at a summit in the Philippines, Mr. Obama said the "overwhelming numbers" of Syrians who are applying for entry to the U.S. "are children, women, families — themselves victims of terrorism." He said they are already subject to rigorous vetting by U.S. security officials.

"The idea that somehow they pose a more significant threat than all the tourists who pour into the United States every single day just doesn't jive with reality," Mr. Obama said. "So my expectation is after the initial spasm of rhetoric, the people will settle down, take a look at the facts, and we'll be able to proceed." <Source>

How can you even begin to trust a man that is willing to lie to the American people? Remember, “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Period!” or the deliberate lie that the 9/11 attack in Benghazi, Libya was a spontaneous protest caused by a anti-Muslim video? And, more proof of his current lies …

It appears from United Nations’ reports that the overwhelming majority of “refugees” are not children, women, families, but single men of jihadist age …

And, there appear to be only 51% coming from Syria; with the rest from all over the Middle East and Africa.<Source: United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees>

About that vetting …

Senior Obama officials have warned of challenges in screening refugees from Syria

Several high-level administration officials have warned in recent months just how challenging this can be. While they say U.S. security measures are much better than in the past, vetting Syrian refugees poses a quandary: How do you screen people from a war-torn country that has few criminal and terrorist databases to check?

“I don’t, obviously, put it past the likes of ISIL to infiltrate operatives among these refugees, so that’s a huge concern of ours,” Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said at a security industry conference in September, using another name for the Islamic State. He added that the government has “a pretty aggressive program” for screening refugees but that he is less confident about European nations.

FBI Director James Comey added in congressional testimony last month that “a number of people who were of serious concern” slipped through the screening of Iraq War refugees, including two arrested on terrorism-related charges. “There’s no doubt that was the product of a less than excellent vetting,” he said.

Although Comey said the process has since “improved dramatically,” Syrian refugees will be even harder to check because, unlike in Iraq, U.S. soldiers have not been on the ground collecting information on the local population. “If we don’t know much about somebody, there won’t be anything in our data,” he said. “I can’t sit here and offer anybody an absolute assurance that there’s no risk associated with this.”

We can’t even track Mexicans coming into our country, what makes anyone think we are going to track terrorists? Especially since there are no databases on most foreign people and the transliteration and name usage of foreign citizens precludes clean searches.

And about the President’s situational awareness …

ISIS Is Not Getting ‘Stronger,’ We Have ‘Contained’ Them

Friday on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” President Barack Obama seemingly downplayed the threat of ISIS in an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that aired on Friday’s broadcast of “Good Morning America.”

Stephanopoulos asked Obama if ISIS was gaining in strength, to which Obama denied they were.

“I don’t think they’re gaining strength,” Obama responded. “What is true is that from the start, our goal has been first to contain and we have contained them. They have not gained ground in Iraq, and in Syria they’ll come in, they’ll leave, but you don’t see this systemic march by ISIL across the terrain.”

“What we have not yet been able to do is to completely decapitate their command and control structures,” he admitted. “We’ve made some progress in trying to reduce the flow of foreign fighters and part our goal has to be to recruit more effective Sunni partners in Iraq to really go on offense rather than simply engage in defense.”  <Source: Obama: ISIS Is Not Getting 'Stronger,' We Have 'Contained' Them>

And, then there is this: the planned weakening of America  …

Obama says gun control to be top issue of final year

President Obama hopes to make gun control the top issue of his final year in office, saying Americans aren't more violent than other people but they "have more deadly weapons to act out their rage."

In an interview published Tuesday in GQ magazine, Mr. Obama said easy access to guns is "the only variable" between the U.S. and other developed countries.

"The main thing that I've been trying to communicate over the last several of these horrific episodes is that, contrary to popular belief, Americans are not more violent than people in other developed countries," Mr. Obama said. "But they have more deadly weapons to act out their rage."

Asked by interviewer Bill Simmons of HBO if gun control will be the "dominant" issue on his agenda next year, Mr. Obama replied, "I hope so." <Source>

Another lie? Here is an American president, charged with protecting the safety and security of the United States, attempting to thwart the Constitution’s Second Amendment and disarm law-abiding American citizens while creating enabling criminals and crazies that do not respect or abide by the nation’s laws – and the terrorists who could care less. Creating a larger soft-target for terrorists and those who wish to do us harm.

One mitigating solution: the Second Amendment …

Interpol Chief: Armed Citizenry Might Be Answer To Terrorism

The secretary general of Interpol, the Europe-based international policing agency, has some near-revolutionary thoughts on what people can do to protect themselves against terrorists like the group that killed dozens of people at a Kenyan mall last month. Addressing the topic of “soft targets,” meaning gathering places that aren’t secured like government or military buildings, the official, Ronald Noble, said, “Societies have to think about how they’re going to approach the problem. One is to say we want an armed citizenry; you can see the reason for that. Another is to say the enclaves are so secure that in order to get into the soft target you’re going to have to pass through extraordinary security.”

Speaking to ABC News, the American law-enforcement veteran went further: “Ask yourself: If that was Denver, Colorado, if that was Texas, would those guys have been able to spend hours, days, shooting people randomly?” Noble said, referring to states with pro-gun traditions. “What I’m saying is it makes police around the world question their views on gun control. It makes citizens question their views on gun control. You have to ask yourself, ‘Is an armed citizenry more necessary now than it was in the past with an evolving threat of terrorism?’ This is something that has to be discussed.” <Source>

Covering their collective asses …

DC Police Chief: ‘Best Option’ Is For Citizens To Take Out Paris-Style Attackers

In a 60 Minutes interview [aired] November 22, Washington DC police chief Cathy Lanier said taking out the gunmen in a Paris-style attack is the “best option” for citizens between the time they call 911 and the moment police arrive.

Lanier said citizens basically have three options–they can “run, hide, or fight.” And she said choosing to “take the gunman out” is the best option if the citizen is in a position to do so.

According to CBS News, Lanier said, “If you’re in a position to try and take the gunman down, to take the gunman out, it’s the best option for saving lives before police can get there.” She admitted that such advice runs “counterintuitive” to what police have been saying for decades, but she stressed that the situation has changed.

Lanier said: “We always tell people, ‘Don’t…don’t take action. Call 911. Don’t intervene in the robbery’…we’ve never told people, ‘Take action.’ [But] it’s a different…scenario.”

She also made clear that she does not want Americans to be paranoid, but she does want them to be alert and prepared. <Source>

Imagine that, the Police Chief of Washington, D.C. – the home of some of the strictest gun control in America – is singing a different tune. Let us not forget that Washington was the scene of a landmark Supreme Court case (District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 in 2008  which affirmed a citizen’s right to keep and bear arms.

Bottom line …

We will see more and more people go on the record as suggesting we may wish to rethink an armed population, if for no other reason than to cover their collective asses while they continue to pursue their toxic progressive policies.

Law enforcement is sworn to keep the general peace and protect the administration – not to protect individuals. Therefore, you are on your own if trouble strikes. By the time the “authorities” arrive, you and your family might be dead or grievously wounded. And, this applies to any threat – criminal, crazy, or terrorist.

It is time to clear the progressive socialist democrats out of government and reassert our rights to carry and bear arms without restrictions. Just as the progressives want to hold gun manufacturers responsible for gun violence, how about we hold government officials responsible for deaths committed by illegal aliens in sanctuary cities, those who allow serious gun-related crimes to be plea bargained away, or who try to create a larger pool of victims by bargaining away our Second Amendment protections.

And, in case you didn’t know … knives and other weapons are covered under the Second Amendment.
