MIRACLE MEDICAL CURES AND FALSE HOPES: DO PUBLISHERS HAVE A MORAL OBLIGATION TO THEIR AUDIENCE?

Once again, I have received an e-mail blast from a reputable publication – complete with the caveat that the advertisement does not necessarily reflect their opinion – trying …

Good Morning Reader,

The verse you see in the picture below contains three of the most mysterious words in the Bible:

bible-with-box

(Click here to reveal the three words)

Theologians, religious leaders, and Bible scholars have debated the meaning of these words for millennia.

But shocking new research points to something no one expected...
Something so controversial, so... explosive ... I was hesitant to even send you this message.

But evidence has emerged that these three words form a kind of ancient “treasure map"...

And the treasure may actually be a CURE for one of our worst diseases.

The scientists investigating it have unlocked a connection to a stunning cancer-fighting power ... a breakthrough so monumental, it's poised to make traditional cancer therapies obsolete ... and save millions of lives.
In order to bring this life-saving information to the people who can use it, a special invite-only website has been created. It reveals both the mysterious three-word phrase -- and the details of the cancer-fighting breakthrough it reveals.

For the next 48 hours, the website is accessible to Washington Times readers through this link.

Please understand, the controversial nature of this information means the website will only be available for the next few minutes. It will then be taken down and moved to a new location for security purposes.

So I encourage you to watch the video all the way through as soon as possible.

To a cancer-free life,

Kelly O'Donnell

P.S. If you're wondering what the three words are, I can tell you they're in the 2nd chapter of the very first book of the Bible. You've probably read them before. But I can guarantee -- once you hear this explosive video evidence, you'll never see them the same way again.

The words …

The “kernel” of truth …

Yes, many natural compounds have been discovered, legitimately tested in medical laboratories, and found to have anti-cancer properties in petri-dishes, in animals, and in humans. Whether or not they actually work in a reliable, effective, and non-harmful way is the subject of ongoing studies.

Yet, many publications often tout secret and “proprietary” compounds that are being suppressed by the giant pharmaceutical companies. They go on to sell you their private-branded product containing these ingredients; mostly as trace additions to fillers that do not contain a therapeutic dose of proven efficacy (produces the claimed result under ideal conditions) and effectiveness (produces the claimed result under real world condition). Or, they sell you a publication that reveals medical secrets suppressed by the big pharmaceutical companies.

Unfortunately, many desperate people, mostly senior citizens, are seeking a last ditch cure to the life-threatening ailments that afflict them or their loved ones and will try or buy anything that renews their hope.

Even smart people, like Apple’s Steve Jobs, believed that there is a natural answer to disease and delay seeking conventional medical treatment. Something that caused Steve Jobs to DIE – reported to having delayed treatment beyond a window of opportunity when he could have been most likely been cured or his cancer mitigated.

In the case of these acetogenin compounds, there is medical literature to support some of these claims …

But reading further …

It is estimated that well over 50% of cancer patients use at least one or more complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies as part of their treatment. (1)

Among the alternative  medicines, products (e.g. Paw Paw Cell-Reg, Graviola Max, Royal Graviola, Graviola Liquid Extract) that contain twig extracts of pawpaw (Asimina triloba L. Dunal, Annonaceae) or Brazilian pawpaw (Annona muricata L., a.k.a. graviola or soursop) are reported to have exhibited antitumor efficacy both in animal models and in a limited number of clinical studies. (2,3)

However, the lack of rigorously controlled clinical trials has cast a shadow on the observation that the administration of pawpaw capsules rich in acetogenins decreased tumor size, reduced tumor blood flow, suppressed metastasis, and improved survival in cancer patients.

Natural compounds, known as annonaceous acetogenins, are considered the active
ingredients in pawpaw products. (2) Found only in Annonaceae species, the annonaceous acetogenins are derivatives of long-chain fatty acids (C32 or C34) bearing a terminal γ-lactone ring that potently inhibit the activity of NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase, a component of the mitochondrial electron transport chain (ETC).4

In general, the inhibition of ATP production is believed to account for the broad range of antitumor, antiviral, and pesticidal activities exhibited by pawpaw extract and purified acetogenins. (2) <Source>

And why do we not see major headlines or a Nobel Prize for curing cancer?

According to the pitch, it’s because Big Pharma can’t patent these compounds and therefore is suppressing the information. Think about the reality for a moment. Why are so many brilliant researchers and doctors dying from these very diseases? Because they can’t read the medical literature or spend a few extra bucks on inexpensive medicine? I think not. These cures exist in laboratories and in the anecdotal evidence of those selling products and services.

So what are they selling …

Actually most of the video touts medical secrets contained in a book called … (wait for it)

book

And it has been “recently” updated in another supplement book – and both will be made available to you free …

book3

But, what are they actually selling besides hope for a miracle cure?

nl

They are apparently selling a highly-profitable, relatively expensive newsletter subscription containing breathlessly reported scientific information that may or may not yield promising results in curing your ills. And, to encourage those sharpies who deserve to be scammed, note the discounted (internet friendly) price of only $37 dollars for seniors as opposed to the regular price of $74.00. I wonder how many of their subscribers are salivating over scamming the man by claiming to be senior citizens?

Bottom line …

I have no objections to selling newsletters containing scientific information or even those suggesting the possibility of medical cures in the future. I am not expressing an opinion on the medicine, the products, or even a publisher’s right to use a “hook” to sell their product or publication.

What I am saying is to use commonsense and seek a conventional medical opinion before charging off and relying on alternative solutions to save or prolong your life.

And, I question the implied endorsement of reputable publications, even with the oft-ignored disclaimers and caveats, of reputable publications that do not place stronger warnings on their “medical,” “vitamin supplement” or “newsletter” advertisements.

As one who supported list maintenance operations for a variety of commercial offers in the past, I can easily imagine some impoverished senior citizen sending off their scant funds – needed for food, medicine, or other necessities – in the hopes that their purchase will yield an actionable answer. And, knowing, up front, that the probabilities of a beneficial outcome (even with the placebo effect) are not great, it pisses me off that there is not a stronger warning from the publication, radio, or television station. Or, better yet, an investigative report.

The best thing I can recommend comes from the Better Business Bureau: Investigate BEFORE You Invest.
