What do you think of when you think of our federal government? Politicians representing their respective constituencies? Government bureaucrats attempting to implement government policies that are sometimes nonsensical and counterproductive? Or, a series of porta-potties filled by politicians whose hands are perpetually out – trading access and favors for campaign contributions, voter support, and media attention?

No matter what your perspective might be, from that of a conservative republican to that of a radical progressive socialist democrat, America deserves better than the politicians were are being given by both the democrats and the republicans.

In what world can you knowingly offer the American people a corrupt liar steeped in criminality and cronyism who believes that she is the heir apparent to the Presidency with no experience, no accomplishments, no general likeability, and with no morals? And, on the other side a tepid politician who represents generations of crony capitalism and “special understandings” with foreign powers?

The prince of privilege …

This certainly is not the best of the best, possibly not even the best of the worst, and yet that’s what may appears on the menu ballot for the people of America to swallow. A corrupt, lying, Marxist or a liberal extension of his family’s political business; what a choice. All pre-selected and pre-packaged by those who profit no matter who holds the majority.

As I sit here, I am pondering where the billions of dollars of taxpayer money have gone. Be it the billions pumped into the decaying inner cities or the pallets of hundred dollars bills shipped to foreign dictators, all facilitated by the twin plagues of lobbyists and lawyers.

I am pondering where the honest journalists went. Not Bobby Blow-Dry or the Balding Bloviator who are commentators operating as if they were journalists; because they are font and center in the ratings game.

I think about those politicians who want to listen to the United Nations about global warming – even though they are not scientists and their political agenda is clear. A United Nations that ignores it charter and sits idly by while hundreds of children are captured, tortured, raped, mutilated, and killed. Or thousands of Christians slaughtered while the Pope fetes the Palestinian terrorists and lauds the murderous thugs in Cuba. 

Evil today certainly has a pretty face – courtesy of those high-priced spin doctors, lobbyists, lawyers, and the very politicians that want us to believe that they are doing the people’s business.

As my best friend Al says, we are so screwed.
