BOB CORKER -- THE GOP DILEMMA: SABOTAGE BY RINOS

The GOP has been handed the levers of power in Congress, so what would you expect from a party that openly advertises themselves as the party of smaller government, financial prudence, less regulation, friendly to business, and lower taxes?

You allow a RINO (Republican In Name Only) to run out and propose a hike in the federal gas taxes – full well knowing that any tax passed when gas prices are low is bound to produce enhanced revenues when the cyclical energy market experiences an upturn.

So who is this fool?

GOP Makes Big Mistake By Calling For Gas-Tax Hike

What can Sen. Bob Corker be thinking? On his first Sunday news show appearance of the year, at the beginning of a new Republican Senate era, does Corker communicate a new GOP message of growth and reform? Does he talk about business and personal tax cuts to rejuvenate startups, wages and job creation? Does he talk about rolling back ObamaCare or regulations in general? Does he discuss sensible immigration reform, including border security? Free trade? Education reform? Keystone pipeline?

No. His first Republican message is: Raise the federal gasoline tax. He said it on "Fox News Sunday" and repeated it on CNBC the next day. What a great idea. American consumers and businesses finally get a break with plunging oil and gas prices. Main Street finally has something to cheer about. And then Corker weighs in with a wet-blanket proposal to raise federal gasoline and diesel taxes by 12 cents a gallon over two years from 18.4 cents.

About Bob …

Sen. Bob Corker 'Frustrated' with Conservative Amnesty Opponents

On Thursday, Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) showed disdain for conservatives who object to massive amnesty legislation that he wants a GOP-led Congress to enact. To Corker, those who oppose amnesty because they care about the rule of law, American workers, and sovereignty and secure borders are nothing but “demagogues.” <Source>

How Bob Corker got his mojo back

At Gene Sperling’s goodbye party last month, Timothy Geithner, Larry Summers and Jack Lew toasted the president’s economic adviser at the Old Executive Office Building before migrating to the W Hotel’s rooftop lounge, where they were joined by a lonely Republican guest — Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker.

The funny thing is, he fit right in.

These days, a room full of Democrats isn’t such an unusual place to spot Corker, the energetic 61-year-old former mayor of Chattanooga. Corker has become a central negotiating figure in Washington’s biggest policy debates, which often means bucking fellow Republicans in the name of compromise — a contrarian role Corker admits he’s come to enjoy.

And if Republicans take control of the Senate this year, he’s in line to take the reins of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, putting a stamp on foreign policy in a Republican Party that is divided between a growing isolationist wing and interventionists — the camp he favors.  Read more: http://www.politico.com/story/2014/04/bob-corker-senate-democrats-105721.html

TARP (BANK BAILOUT) BILL: This Senator voted YES on the H.R. 1424, which was originally passed by the House as the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008. This is unconstitutional because all revenue bills must originate in the House of Representatives first. This bill provided massive loans to failing banks, who were participating in risky loans. This bill is the primary instrument in fully ‘waking the sleeping giant’ of the public because no regulations were put upon the banks to stop them from doing risky loans.  <Source>

The four greatest threats to the GOP…

  1. Lack of Leadership – Quick, tell me who heads the Republican Party?
  2. Lack of Platform – Tell me what the GOP represents?
  3. Lack of Coherent Messaging – What is the difference between the Republicans and the Democrats?
  4. Lack of Discipline – there is no penalty to disrespect the GOP, its leadership, or to savage fellow Republicans. Anyone – even a Democrat can run as a Republican to disrupt the primary process.

Bottom line …

It appears that the GOP is on track, once again, to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
