UPS -- POST OFFICE SCAM? DID YOUR SELLER MENTION DELIVERY BY UPS-SurePost?
I made a purchase and I believed that my new product would be delivered by UPS – with total accountability, tracking, and great customer service …
Then I hit the tracking button and …
The package was transferred at the request of the sender from UPS to the Post Office for local delivery! Nothing about this little wrinkle on the vendor’s website or in the shipping choices!
Bottom line …
It appears that there is some new service designated as “UPS SurePost,” described as “an economy, residential, ground service” … that combines the consistency and reliability of the UPS Ground network with final delivery typically provided by the U.S. Postal Service.” And, of course, UPS is willing to upgrade the service to regular ground service to arrive one day earlier at an additional charge.
This appears to be a rip-off as I was just told by the seller/sender that my purchase was being shipped by UPS – the old, reliable UPS where nothing was lost for at least the past 25 years!
Again, buyer beware.
