PATHETIC GOP POLL: HOW SAD IS ANY POLL LEAD BY RAND PAUL, MIKE HUCKABEE, AND JEB BUSH?
Warning: this poll is extremely suspect …
- Polls conducted this early in the 2016 presidential election cycle with undeclared candidates are meaningless.
- The sample size and composition of the poll cannot be projected onto the national scene and their media release is unprofessional in that it does not disclose the” margin of error.”
- This is the type of poll that is released by market research firms as a calling card that announces their availability for more paid political research.
- The poll skews conservative and the head honcho claims, “It’s a shame some Republicans haven’t learned the lessons of nominating moderate candidates like Bob Dole, John McCain or Mitt Romney,” which is unprofessional as any analysis would not have any note of a personal bias.
- This is the type of polling that is often conducted by one candidate to bolster their local, regional, or limited national credibility. Since there is no statement of sponsorship, the question of who paid for the poll remains open and suspect.
Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee are small-time players and would have no chance against a strong national figure such as Hillary Clinton – even given the dissatisfaction with Obamacare, and the continuing scandal of the progressive socialist democrats.
For your amusement …
Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee Leading New Nationwide 2016 Poll
WPA Opinion Research, a nationally recognized polling firm, today released the results of a nationwide poll examining the potential 2016 GOP field.
“With a field of quality candidates, it is no surprise that no one has broken away from the pack,” said CEO Chris Wilson. ”The important thing at this point of the race is staying in the conversation, and the fact that Rand Paul, Huckabee, Bush, Christie and Cruz are all managing to do that bodes well for them long term.”
The nationwide telephone poll was conducted from March 18-20th of 801 Republicans and Republican Leaning Independents.
If the Republican primary election for United States President were held today, for whom would you vote for?
1. Rand Paul (KY) – 13%
Mike Huckabee (AR) – 13%
3. Jeb Bush – 11% (FL)
4. Chris Christie (NJ) – 9%
Ted Cruz (TX) – 9%
6. Paul Ryan (WI) – 6%
Marco Rubio (FL) – 6%
8. Scott Walker (WI) – 5%
9. Bobby Jindal (LA) – 3%
Rick Santorum (PA) – 3%
11. Rick Perry (TX) – 1%
12. Don’t Know/Refused – 19%Wilson added, “Rand Paul seems to be doing what his father never was able to and reaching out to other parts of the party to win support. While young voters are his best group, Paul also manages to pull in support from other age groups as well. He wins 16% of the 65-74 age group. Given that Christie support is driven from the moderate side of the party, his best move may be to move the conversation away from ideology to the idea that he is best positioned to beat Hillary.”
When participants were also asked about which candidates would have the best chance of beating Hillary Clinton in the 2016 general election for President:
- Rand Paul 13%
- Chris Christie 13%
- Jeb Bush 12%
- Marco Rubio 9%
- Huckabee 8%
- Ted Cruz 8%.
“Christie is clearly not the first choice among GOP voters overall, but when you look at which candidate Republicans believe can beat Hillary Clinton there is evidence that the theory a moderate Republican can beat a liberal Democrat still holds some sway,”Wilson noted. ”It’s a shame some Republicans haven’t learned the lessons of nominating moderate candidates like Bob Dole, John McCain or Mitt Romney.”
Additional Poll Background
- 48% of participants “more closely identified” with the “traditional Republican Party” while 42% chose the “Tea Party movement.”
- 50% of participants identified with being an “economic conservative concerned about jobs, economic growth, and debt.”
- 35% of participants identified with being a “social conservative concerned about moral values, protecting the family, and pro-life.”

Bottom line …
The GOP is in real trouble if all they can offer up as candidates is another moderate crony capitalist like Jeb Bush, a small-time grifter who accepts money from white supremacists like Rand Paul, and Mike Huckabee, a religious zealot who destroyed all of the hard drives in the Governor’s office upon leaving office, lest they be used in Freedom of Information Act requests.
It appears that the difference in poll numbers between Rand Paul and Ted Cruz may be one of public name recognition and the spill over Rand Paul gets from his grifter father, Ron Paul.
As you might surmise, I do not like any of these candidates, nor do I believe they can muster the overwhelming support of moderate republicans and independents.
We are in deep, deep trouble when it comes to presidential candidates at this point in time. If one were to be realistic, again – at this point in time – the only two viable candidates are Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney. And,. as I said, we are in deep, deep trouble.
Our real chance to effect change and to reverse the tide of socialism and communism in America is to purge the fifth column of progressive socialist democrats trying to destroy America from within. We need to regain majorities in the House and the Senate in 2014, and stop the corruption – including the flow of campaign funding from our enemies, both foreign and domestic – in Washington.
