CALIFORNIA NEEDS A PROPOSITION: CAMPAIGN FUNDS CANNOT BE USED FOR LEGAL DEFENSE EXPENSES
Slimeball gun grabber Leland Yee was collecting money from fools stupid enough to finance his run for the California Secretary of State, or at least those who were trying to buy influence with the potential of Secretary of State. Of course, Yee dropped out of that campaign when he was indicted on arms trafficking in an FBI sting operation.
Now, Yee plans to use some portion of the $653,000 in unused campaign cash to fund his legal defense fund on arms trafficking charges. And, yes, it is legal under the auspices of the California Fair Political Practices Commission.
Bottom line …
California needs a proposition making it illegal to use campaign funds for the legal defense of criminal charges. And, to return campaign cash first to the contributors on a pro rata basis, and to the State’s general fund if there is anything left in the kitty.
