FULL TEXT: PRESIDENT OBAMA THREATENS CONGRESS, AMERICA, AND AMERICANS IN STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS -- "I have a pen, a phone, and I am willing to go it alone"
All is not well in our nation with five years of failure …
On the day that Barack Obama delivers the State of the Union Address in front of a joint session of Congress, an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll shows that:
- Obama’s job approval is low, with 51% (+/- 3.5%) of those surveyed disapproving of his performance. (43% – approve, 6% – not sure)
- Congressional job approval is abysmally low, with 81% of those surveyed disapproving of Congressional performance. (13% – approve, 6% – not sure)
- 63% of those surveyed believe the nation is heading in the wrong direction. (28% believe we are heading in the right direction)
- 3% of Americans believe that America is a strong nation as it stands today.
Obama appears to have lost the trust of the nation and has little or no personal credibility when it comes to his policies …
- President Obama is a proven liar. So nothing he says can be trusted!
- President Obama is a Marxist ideologue who favors those who we are fighting on foreign shores. Disadvantaging our friends and allies and giving aid and comfort to our enemies. Possibly allowing Iran to go nuclear and threaten the entire Middle East.
- President Obama’s policies, both domestic and foreign have been failures.
- President Obama exhibits little or no leadership, leaving the heavy lifting to others who he is willing to throw under the bus should their be an adverse result. Preferring to campaign, fundraise, and vacation rather than govern. That is, when he is not blaming his predecessor or others for his leadership failures or the failure of his policies, both foreign and domestic. He is known to allow his Administration to stonewall legitimate congressional inquiry, allowing a scandal to “age,” and then claiming it is old news and not worthy of discussion while he concentrates on moving forward.
- President Obama refuses to engage with Congress, especially avoiding members of the opposition who still represent 47% of the nation’s constituency.
- Obama is a divider, not a uniter when it comes to the progressive socialist democrats dividing America into groups based on race, class, income, gender, etc.
- President Obama is corrupt, with special interests and cronies receiving hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayer money; many enterprises declaring bankruptcy shortly after being funded by the government.
- President Obama has become increasingly lawless, breaching the law-making function of Congress and refusing to uphold the laws of the land.
- President Obama has nationalized one-sixth of our economy and placed the health of Americans at significant and serious risk with this wealth re-distribution scheme.
- President Obama and his Administration has squandered billions of the taxpayer’s money, using funds to purchase votes and political support and insure that unionized government workers are protected from the downturn in our economy. The tax code under Obama contains inexplicable provisions that harm the middle class and provide tax benefits to special interests. Using fees rather than taxes to grab even more of a citizen’s income.
- President Obama touts illegal aliens who are taking American jobs and crippling our social safety nets.
- Obama uses environmental policies to control and curb the economy with unnecessary and unconstitutional rules and regulations.
- President Obama has politicized regulatory agencies, especially the IRS, and made them instruments of political persuasion and punishment.
What do Americans want from this President and Congress?
The simple answer is leadership. Keeping our country strong, creating jobs and reducing government spending. Less ideology and more bipartisan cooperation.
President Obama represents a clear and present danger to our nation when he threatens to breach the Constitution and take unilateral action on his policies …

Lies, half-truths, distortion, and misdirection …
| And it is American diplomacy, backed by pressure, that has halted the progress of Iran’s nuclear program – and rolled parts of that program back – for the very first time in a decade. As we gather here tonight, Iran has begun to eliminate its stockpile of higher levels of enriched uranium. It is not installing advanced centrifuges. Unprecedented inspections help the world verify, every day, that Iran is not building a bomb. And with our allies and partners, we’re engaged in negotiations to see if we can peacefully achieve a goal we all share: preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. These negotiations will be difficult. They may not succeed. We are clear-eyed about Iran’s support for terrorist organizations like Hezbollah, which threaten our allies; and the mistrust between our nations cannot be wished away. But these negotiations do not rely on trust; any long-term deal we agree to must be based on verifiable action that convinces us and the international community that Iran is not building a nuclear bomb. If John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan could negotiate with the Soviet Union, then surely a strong and confident America can negotiate with less powerful adversaries today. The sanctions that we put in place helped make this opportunity possible. But let me be clear: if this Congress sends me a new sanctions bill now that threatens to derail these talks, I will veto it. For the sake of our national security, we must give diplomacy a chance to succeed. If Iran’s leaders do not seize this opportunity, then I will be the first to call for more sanctions, and stand ready to exercise all options to make sure Iran does not build a nuclear weapon. But if Iran’s leaders do seize the chance, then Iran could take an important step to rejoin the community of nations, and we will have resolved one of the leading security challenges of our time without the risks of war. |
I call bullshit! First, the Iranians claim that there are few restrictions of the kind that Obama touts as already accomplished. The Obama Administration refuses to release the text of the agreement and the Iranians claim there is a 30-page “side-text.” The sad fact is that you can’t trust the Administration to tell the truth to the American people. Note the internal inconsistency of noting that the negotiations are difficult and they may not succeed. And, yet the President speaks as if the negotiation were complete and Iran nuclear ambitions have been thwarted. Not even close to the truth.
If this man is prepared to sacrifice Israel on the basis of his rhetoric, how can Americans trust him to keep America and Americans safe from the terrorists who are in all likelihood already here. Hiding among the other illegal aliens that the government professes they know nothing about. Not their numbers, not their locations, and certainly not their loyalties to the United States rather than their foreign sovereign national origin.

Anyone who has been paying attention to Obama’s socialist rhetoric, class warfare is the principal means for sowing dissent among women, the minorities and the poor.
De facto minimum wage by fiat -- an example of the power of the pen …
| In the coming weeks, I will issue an Executive Order requiring federal contractors to pay their federally-funded employees a fair wage of at least $10.10 an hour – because if you cook our troops’ meals or wash their dishes, you shouldn’t have to live in poverty. Of course, to reach millions more, Congress needs to get on board. Today, the federal minimum wage is worth about twenty percent less than it was when Ronald Reagan first stood here. Tom Harkin and George Miller have a bill to fix that by lifting the minimum wage to $10.10. This will help families. It will give businesses customers with more money to spend. It doesn’t involve any new bureaucratic program. So join the rest of the country. Say yes. Give America a raise. |
Considering that the great bulk of federal money provided to industry, education, and other local and state governmental agencies in the form of grants, contracts, etc. will now require those entities to lift the minimum wages beyond the local and state minimum wages. Those who compete for employees will have no choice but to counter this offer. It is possible that all suppliers of goods and services to the government will also be required to meet these standards. Even the big companies that supply goods to be sold in military base exchanges or used in social programs.
Potential government manipulation or confiscation of your money?
| That’s why, tomorrow, I will direct the Treasury to create a new way for working Americans to start their own retirement savings: MyRA. And if this Congress wants to help, work with me to fix an upside-down tax code that gives big tax breaks to help the wealthy save, but does little to nothing for middle-class Americans. Offer every American access to an automatic IRA on the job, so they can save at work just like everyone in this chamber can. And since the most important investment many families make is their home, send me legislation that protects taxpayers from footing the bill for a housing crisis ever again, and keeps the dream of homeownership alive for future generations of Americans. |
- You are putting your money in the hands of the government, with the potential for confiscation. You cannot trust a government that steals money from Social Security and Medicare to fund other projects and programs.
- You are given a rate of interest that is an obligation of the American taxpayer, in essence you are paying the government a premium for allegedly keeping your money safe – because the government does not generate income, they merely redistribute the income of taxpayers. But anyone can plainly see, you can purchase tax-exempt government securities now – and the rate is manipulated by a government that refuses to tell you the truth about inflation.
- And, let us not forget that government pensions are based on defined benefit – no matter what the cost or economic situation, while those in the private sector are based on defined contribution – where if there is no profit, there is no contribution.
| Citizenship means standing up for the lives that gun violence steals from us each day. I have seen the courage of parents, students, pastors, and police officers all over this country who say “we are not afraid,” and I intend to keep trying, with or without Congress, to help stop more tragedies from visiting innocent Americans in our movie theaters, shopping malls, or schools like Sandy Hook. |
Is President Obama crazy? How does disarming legal and law-abiding Americans and creating a greater pool of potential victims make America and Americans safer? How does ignoring the danger posed by the progressive socialist democrat’s governance over the inner cities, reduce the danger from gangs that are little more than domestic terrorists?
| When I took office, nearly 180,000 Americans were serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Today, all our troops are out of Iraq. More than 60,000 of our troops have already come home from Afghanistan. With Afghan forces now in the lead for their own security, our troops have moved to a support role. Together with our allies, we will complete our mission there by the end of this year, and America’s longest war will finally be over. After 2014, we will support a unified Afghanistan as it takes responsibility for its own future. If the Afghan government signs a security agreement that we have negotiated, a small force of Americans could remain in Afghanistan with NATO allies to carry out two narrow missions: training and assisting Afghan forces, and counterterrorism operations to pursue any remnants of al Qaeda. |
Obama must be crazy. We left Iraq and it now appears to be under the influence of Iran, with the oil flowing to our enemies, rather than to the United States. If it was about oil, as the progressive socialist democrats claimed, where is the lessening of our energy requirements? As for the kleptocracy known as Afghanistan, how does telling the enemy you are leaving do anything but tell them they have won – just wait until the Americans leave so they can kill those who found with us side-by-side. Osama bin Laden is dead, but it appears that al Qaeda has grown stronger.
Closing Gitmo?
| That’s why I’ve imposed prudent limits on the use of drones – for we will not be safer if people abroad believe we strike within their countries without regard for the consequence. That’s why, working with this Congress, I will reform our surveillance programs – because the vital work of our intelligence community depends on public confidence, here and abroad, that the privacy of ordinary people is not being violated. And with the Afghan war ending, this needs to be the year Congress lifts the remaining restrictions on detainee transfers and we close the prison at Guantanamo Bay – because we counter terrorism not just through intelligence and military action, but by remaining true to our Constitutional ideals, and setting an example for the rest of the world. |
It is bad enough that Obama and his Attorney General, Eric Holder, believe in giving Constitutional rights to enemy combatants, but he also wants to bring terrorists into federal court and try them as they would criminals. War is not committed by criminals, but by enemy combatants that should have no rights other than those accorded to enemy combatants in a time of war.
Support for Israel?
| American diplomacy, backed by the threat of force, is why Syria’s chemical weapons are being eliminated, and we will continue to work with the international community to usher in the future the Syrian people deserve – a future free of dictatorship, terror and fear. As we speak, American diplomacy is supporting Israelis and Palestinians as they engage in difficult but necessary talks to end the conflict there; to achieve dignity and an independent state for Palestinians, and lasting peace and security for the State of Israel – a Jewish state that knows America will always be at their side. |
Historically, no peace is possible between peoples who have been mortal enemies for decades – made so more by Muslims teaching their children that Israel is the enemy. Even worse, when the Muslims are not attacking Jews, they are attacking their own people – believing the inter-sectarian warfare over who has the more legitimate version of Islam is religiously justified. How do you negotiate with someone who does not respect human life and where everyone’s duty is to preserve and enlarge the Islamic Caliphate without tolerance for any other ideology? Many of Obama’s closest associates are anti-Jew, so it is unbelievable that anyone should trust the continued existence of Israel to the man who prayed as a Muslim. In fact, the conversion of Barack Obama to Christianity marks him as an apostate – worse than an infidel in the eyes of the devout. In the final analysis, you cannot trust Obama and his cadre of progressive socialist democrats with the safety and security of our nation – or any other nation for that matter.
An example of a sound-good half-truth …
| But the debate is settled. Climate change is a fact. (Applause.) And when our children's children look us in the eye and ask if we did all we could to leave them a safer, more stable world, with new sources of energy, I want us to be able to say yes, we did. (Cheers, applause.) |
Nobody has ever disputed that the climate has changed historically, continues to change, and will change in the future. Notice how Obama ignores the real issue: to what degree does man contribute to climate change, and considering the tremendous forces involved, can man’s contribution to climate change actually be measured against the natural variability of climate? When a single volcano can emit enough particulate matter to cool the planet for two years, trying to combat the Sun’s energy output, deep ocean currents, volcanic activity by curbing our CO2 or use different light bulbs is ludicrous.
What more do you need to know?
Stripped of the political rhetoric, it’s a political pep rally -- yada, yada, yada and “pen and phone and I am going it alone.”
- Obama notes Americans are in pain.
- Obama promises a solution. (at least for his political base)
- Obama promises to take action unilaterally.
Unfortunately, as we have seen in the past five years, giving a TelePrompTered speech does not equate to effective action, nor does issuing vague orders to Congress. And, it remains a sad fact that the “pen and phone, going it alone’ can challenge the Constitution and lead to his impeachment.

Bottom line …
President Obama and his cadre of progressive socialist democrats represent a clear and present danger to our nation. Especially, when President Obama threatens to further breach the Constitution and take unilateral, unconstitutional, and unlawful action to promote his radical policies.
The best defense against this soft tyranny is to remove progressive socialist democrats, especially those who are corrupt racists, from Congress and restore the constitutional checks and balances between the three branches of government as envisioned by our Founding Fathers.
If there was anything decent about Obama’s state of the union address, it was the acknowledgement of one of our soldiers, Sergeant First Class Cory Remsburg.
| I first met Cory Remsburg, a proud Army Ranger, at Omaha Beach on the 65th anniversary of D-Day. Along with some of his fellow Rangers, he walked me through the program – a strong, impressive young man, with an easy manner, sharp as a tack. We joked around, and took pictures, and I told him to stay in touch. A few months later, on his tenth deployment, Cory was nearly killed by a massive roadside bomb in Afghanistan. His comrades found him in a canal, face down, underwater, shrapnel in his brain. For months, he lay in a coma. The next time I met him, in the hospital, he couldn’t speak; he could barely move. Over the years, he’s endured dozens of surgeries and procedures, and hours of grueling rehab every day. Even now, Cory is still blind in one eye. He still struggles on his left side. But slowly, steadily, with the support of caregivers like his dad Craig, and the community around him, Cory has grown stronger. Day by day, he’s learned to speak again and stand again and walk again – and he’s working toward the day when he can serve his country again. “My recovery has not been easy,” he says. “Nothing in life that’s worth anything is easy.” Cory is here tonight. And like the Army he loves, like the America he serves, Sergeant First Class Cory Remsburg never gives up, and he does not quit. My fellow Americans, men and women like Cory remind us that America has never come easy. |
Unfortunately, observing Obama and his interaction with the military, I do not believe that Cory means any more to Obama than as a prop to aid his political agenda. Obama has decimated our military leadership – removing strong leaders for minor and forgivable personal flaws. This is the man who just screwed wounded veterans out of their rightful pension increases. He is such an elitist and so damn disingenuous that he cannot even be believed when it comes to the simplest of human gestures.
The real danger of Obama and his cadre of progressive socialist democrats is that they believe they know what is best for you and since the ends (socialism) are beneficial to the masses, any means, fair or foul, are acceptable.
