President Obama and his cadre of progressive socialist democrats have seized upon the special forces capture of a Taliban commander to thump their chests, BUT IS THE A HIDDEN AGENDA?
US seizes Pakistan Taliban commander -- US forces capture senior Pakistan Taliban commander, Latif Mehsud, the state department says.
US military forces have captured Latifullah Mehsud, a senior commander with the Pakistani Taliban, according to the US State Department. Marie Harf, State Department spokeswoman, said on Friday that US forces had apprehended Mehsud, whom she described as a senior commander of the Pakistani Taliban, also known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Mehsud is believed to be a close confidant of Hakimullah Mehsud, the TTP leader. He is believed to be in his early thirties and a trusted commander in the Mehsud tribe which has led the Pakistani Taliban for many years.
The Pentagon said Latifullah Mehsud was captured in a US military operation in Afghanistan, but the Washington Post newspaper reported that he was forcibly snatched from an Afghan government convoy in Logar province several weeks ago as Afghan officials were trying to recruit him to launch peace talks.
An Afghan government official told Al Jazeera that the authorities were not happy about the Mehsud being snatched from the custody of Afghan intelligence officials and that it directly affected the sovereignty of the government on its own soil. <Source>
"Now you may ask yourself, why a high-ranking Pakistani Taliban leader, wanted for ten years, was motoring down a main Afghan highway returning to Pakistan in the company of Afghan forces who certainly wee not going to turn him over to U.S. forces even though this leader’s group is holding the only American in custody, Bowe Bergdahl, since 2009? According to sources on the ground, he was returning from negotiations involving swapping Afghani prisoners for money – money which probably came from the United States Government in the form of humanitarian and military assistance.
WTF – our ally the Afghans forgot to tell us that they were sneaking around cutting a deal with the Taliban for their prisoners? The Afghan government is like the Pakistani government – freebooters sucking up American dollars while laughing behind our backs.
Obama’s end game …
Considering the number and depth of legitimate scandals swirling around Obama and his incompetent administration, he needs a public relations win – a big win. Something that could prove to the military and the nation that he respects the military; especially since the Obama Administration deliberately withheld funeral and bereavement payments from the families of dead soldiers.
So what could be a bigger win than the trade of this inconsequential Taliban commander for Bowe Bergdahl and then letting the progressive media go crazy with the story?
Bottom line …
I would not put it past President Obama, and his radical socialist advisors, Valerie Jarrett, Susan Rice, Samantha Power, Chuck Hagel, and the Muslim-loving CIA director John Brennan, to be engineering a public relations stunt involving the military.
