Suspicious law firm break-in appears to be targeted attack on computers and files …
The Dallas law offices of Schulman & Mathias, representing a high-profile State Department whistleblower, Aurelia Fedenisn, appears to have suffered a break-in where no easily available valuables were taken. A portion of the break-in, caught by security cameras, shows suspects who entered the building around the time of the incursion.
Fedenisn, was an investigator at the State Department’s Office of the Inspector General, charged with rooting out inefficiencies and wrongdoing within the State Department. Fedenisn has apparently put forth allegations that the State Department and some of its contractors may have use drugs and prostitutes, some minors, and engaged in other prohibited or illegal conduct. Some allegations may have potentially affected Howard Gutman, the recently replaced Ambassador to Belgium.
The ambassador who came under investigation “routinely ditched his protective security detail in order to solicit sexual favors from both prostitutes and minor children,” according to documents obtained by NBC News. The alleged misconduct took place during former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s tenure, according to the documents, which also say those activities may not have been properly looked into.
Top state department officials directed investigators to “cease the investigation” into the ambassador’s conduct, according to the memo. A state department spokesperson would not confirm the specific investigations, but told NBC News “the notion that we would not vigorously pursue criminal misconduct in a case, in any case, is preposterous.”
Former State Department investigator Aurelia Fedenisn has said that investigators dropped the ball in the case, and that a final report published in March of this year was “watered down,” according to her attorney. “She felt it was important that Congress get this information,” Fedenisn’s lawyer Cary Schulman told NBC News.
State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said that the department “would never condone” improper influence on its investigators. “Any case we would take seriously and we would investigate, and that’s exactly what we’re doing.” <Source>
It appears that much of the attention surrounding this particular whistleblower does not arise from the alleged acts themselves, but the attempt to cover-up the acts themselves lest they embarrass the State Department.
Coincidently, the same State Department spokeswoman, Jan Psaki, commented on the burglary. “"Any allegation that the Department of State authorized someone to break into Mr. Schulman's law firm is false and baseless." <Source>
Since burglary does not appear to be the motive behind the break-in, it would be natural to assume that the event was targeted at information on the whistleblower. Unfortunately, this is an unknown factor as law firms have multiple cases with hundreds of interested parties. Gutman would have nothing to gain since all of the data resides at the State Department. The State Department would have little or nothing to gain because the information has already been release and they are already held in ill-repute for their actions in Benghazi.
Bottom line …
If this break-in was politically motivated, it would be ill-advised unless the whistleblower actually had pending disclosures or documents that could further embarrass the State Department or its top people. Notably, Hillary Clinton who is thought by many democrats to be a viable candidate for the Presidency in 2016.
Heaven help us if this social ideologue is elected to office. Known for her association with corruption and various scandals during Bill Clinton’s term in office, Hillary Clinton’s refusal to tell the truth about Benghazi marks her as an unsuitable public official, especially one who swears an oath to uphold, preserve, and defend the Constitution of the United States.
