IT IS TIME TO SCRAP THE HONORIFIC TITLE "THE HONORABLE" FOR POLITICIANS WITHOUT HONOR
It just pisses me off no end that politicians and government officials testifying before Congress are referred to as the “honorable” Secretary of State or the “honorable” Attorney General. Many of these people are without any shred of personal honor and decency and do not deserve the title. It also pisses me off that many public facilities are named after politicians who did little more than pick the taxpayer’s pocket and erect monuments to themselves – or when that appeared unseemly and self-serving, to each other.
I think that politicians, including judges, should be without any honorific title other than the title of their position. And, if anything, they should address each and every American citizen before them as “The Honorable” – in honor of the fact that we elected them to office, financed their special projects, and most of all, did not run them out of town on a rail.
