Gun Control: Progressive lies and other Projections ...
Id the media were not in the tank for the progressives, perhaps that they would honestly report that 90% of the gun-related violence comes from criminal activities and minorities in gang-infested inner cities which they control. Inner cities with some of the most stringent gun control laws in the United States. Inner cities where crazies and criminals ignore the laws and kill each other. Perhaps a more honest look at gun-related violence would be to classify the statistics: people who died by their own hand (suicides), people involved in confrontations with law enforcement, people who died during the commission of a crime with a break-out for the minorities and inner cities.
Conservative Columnist Says Gun Violence Isn't a Priority -- Even Though Gun Deaths Projected to Outnumber Auto Deaths by 2015
If current projections hold, for the first time modern American history more people will die in 2015 from gun violence than will be killed in automobile accidents.
Meanwhile, nearly 20,000 Americans kill themselves each year using firearms, amidst an escalating suicide rate. And as Bloomberg News recently reported, the financial cost of U.S. gun violence in terms of lost work, medical care, insurance, court costs, and pain and suffering amounted to nearly $175 billion in 2010. About those “Bloomberg” statistics …
This graph, offered in the context of a gun-control debate is meaningless. Especially since the up-tick in gun-related violence can be related to the up-tick in violent inner city conflicts involving minorities as well as the uptick in suicides brought about by the political mismanagement and interference with our domestic economy.
Bottom line …
As long as corrupt politicians continue to pander to minorities in orgasms of political correctness, multi-culturalism, and moral equivalency – and as long as corrupt politicians do not seem to care that crazies and criminals do not respect gun control laws – disarming law-abiding citizens only creates a bigger pool of victims for the crazies and criminals.
There is no way that law enforcement authorities can be everywhere they are needed, when they are needed. That the progressives refuse to advise battered women, especially those with children, about using firearms for self-protection, is tantamount to condemning women and children to death.
In the final analysis, you are responsible for your own survival and safety. It is your God-given right and even acknowledged in our Constitution. I can understand why politicians – especially those who are corrupt and involved in pandering to the special interests – want people disarmed. Pretty much why they walk around with armed guards. Because they know they are doing something wrong and are afraid to face the consequences. How much better might it be if politicians were not granted personal protection? You might see a whole different attitude regarding corruption and gun control.
If the local, state, and the federal government were really interested in human rights and the sanctity of life, they would abolish all gun restrictions except for crazies and criminals and allow those in the inner cities to protect themselves against the domestic terrorists we call gangs.
