The only message that we can garner from this video, produced as an introduction to a IRS training session, is that government is lacking in both ideas and leadership now and in the centuries to come.
Imagine, the intrepid space voyagers of the Star Ship Enterprise Y discover a planet where financial freedom is mistaken for anarchy. Where taxes, the “Mother’s Milk of Politics” are being evaded according to some extra-planetary rulebook – and, perhaps the “tribute” (I mean taxes) is not being correctly paid to the United Federation of Planets.
Or a more credible explanation: the government seeking to increase political control over a recently discovered planet and is highlighting and using the Ferengi culture of mercantilism as an excuse to tax each and every planetary resident in order to redistribute wealth to non-Ferengis. From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.
Perhaps this poorly made parody speaks volumes about our current administration and is socialist attempt to take over our planet? It is shameful that government agencies with decades of audio-visual production experience and huge budgets could only manage to put together this abomination … where the set overshadows the junior-high acting abilities of lame employees.
