ARE YOU EFFIN KIDDING ME? "Boehner a Repeat Offender Among Political Pottymouths - US News and World Report"

Our nation is crumbling, its finances in a shamble, its infrastructure is crumbling and all the intellectual elites at U.S. News and World Report can carp about is the word “ass.” Are they effin kidding me? The f-bomb is the armament of choice when it comes to official America, be it the military, law enforcement or the vast majority of government itself.

Who are these political pussies that decry swearing when America, as we know it, remains in peril?

Boehner a Repeat Offender Among Political Pottymouths -- The House speaker told Senate Democrats to 'get off their ass' Tuesday

House Speaker John Boehner isn't pleased with the lack of progress by lawmakers to avoid pending budget cuts. House Speaker John Boehner's Tuesday suggestion that Senate Democrats "get off their ass" was at least the second occasion in two months that the GOP leader has used profanity in reference to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

On December 28, Boehner spotted Reid at the White House—during tense negotiations over the so-called fiscal cliff—and advised him to "go f-ck yourself," Politico reported. Reid responded, "What are you talking about?" The question prompted Boehner to repeat the crude tip.

Other politicians who caught headlines more than once for swearing include:

President George W. Bush:

In 2000 Bush was recorded pointing out a New York Times reporter to Vice President Dick Cheney and saying that he was a "major league asshole."

In 2006 Bush was recorded telling British Prime Minister Tony Blair that Syria should, "get Hezbollah to stop doing this shit."

Sen. Carl Levin:

In April 2010 the Michigan Democrat repeatedly used the phrase "shitty deal" while grilling a Goldman Sachs executive. Initially he quoted the phrase from an internal E-mail, but then excitedly used it over and over again.

Vice President Joe Biden:

During the March 2010 signing ceremony for President Obama's healthcare reform law, Biden said into a microphone "this is a big f-cking deal."

In March 2009 Biden said "Give me a f-cking break" to a former senate colleague who referred to him as "Mr. Vice President" during an event at Union Station in Washington, D.C., according to an ABC News report.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel:

The Chicago mayor, who formerly served as Obama's Chief of Staff and as an Illinois congressman, is another famous foul-mouthed politician. According to a 2010 article in The New Republic, Emanuel uses the word "f-ck" in a variety of strange applications. "F-cknutsville" is reportedly how he refers to Washington, D.C.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi joked that the stimulus plan could be paid for if someone "put a quarter in a jar every time Rahm uses a swear word."

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee:

The Texas Democrat is cruel to her staff, according to a lengthy 2011 report by The Daily Caller that featured former employees dishing on the "boss from hell." According to the article, Lee "constantly" referred to one staffer as "you stupid motherf-cker."   Source: Boehner a Repeat Offender Among Political Pottymouths - US News and World Report

How freakin silly is US News and World Report to publish this “shit” when the Administration continues to lie about Benghazi and fails to tell us that they are arming jihadists. If this is the best this rag can produce, it deserves to go out of business.

Bottom line …

It is time to halt the pussification of America and concentrate on things that matter. Like repairing and replacing our crumbling infrastructure – not worrying about whether a handful of transgendered kids should be allowed to use the girls or boys bathrooms. Like telling our enemies to “Kiss our ass” and rewarding our allies.

This political correctness is fast turning into a socialist suicide pact.

Maxine Waters: "Over 170 Million Jobs Could Be Lost" Due To Sequestration -- Slip of the tongue or wishful socialist thinking?

I find it unbelievable that Maxine Waters, the ethically-challenged, corrupt, socialist ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee would stand before an audience an tell an outrageous lie. That over 170 million jobs could be lost due to the sequestration.

I call BULLSHIT! First, we are not talking about “real dollar,” but budgeted dollars yet to be appropriated. We are talking about slowing the rate of spending of budget dollars – no a reduction in the spending of “real dollars.” And, this socialist ideologue would have you believe that this non-existent crisis would impact 170 million jobs. In 2010, there were approximately 154.4 million employed individuals in the United States, with 22 million in the largest sector, the government.

In her own words …

Start at 00:30:00 …

Yesterday we did have Mr. Bernanke in our committee and he came to tell us what he’s doing with quantitative easing and that is trying to stimulate the economy with the bond purchases that he’s been doing because he’s trying to keep the interest rates low and jobs – and he said that if sequestration takes place, that’s going to be a great setback.

We don’t need to be having something like sequestration that’s going to cause these jobs losses, over 170 million jobs that could be lost – and so he made it very clear he’s not opposed to cuts but cuts must be done over a long period of time and in a very planned way rather than this blunt cutting that will be done by sequestration.

As you know in this committee we have all of HUD and HUD is responsible for so many programs that determine the quality of life for women and families. CBDG, a form of grant programs will be cut by $153 million dollars, these are grants that help with cities and children and low-income programs.

We also will cut the Home Program by $52 million if sequestration takes place, Native American Housing grants by $34 million, House and Choice grants $113 million, Public Housing – mostly single women in Public Housing – another $304 million, and homelessness, everybody claims to be concerned with homelessness and the growing number of women and children who are out their homeless but look they will take a $99 million dollar hit and on and on and on.

We are here today, one more time, talking about women and children and families and how we can protect our women, children, and families and have a decent quality of life – sequestration will set us back, all of the gains that we have made will be lost with sequestration.

Bottom line …

Maxine Waters continues to be elected by her constituents in spite of the fact that she is a corrupt, racist, socialist ideologue – and lacks common sense. Nothing in her district (centered around the infamous  South Central Los Angeles and parts of Inglewood and Hawthorne) has radically improved over the years she has served and her constituents still are disadvantaged despite the billions poured into social programs.

It is time that racist demagogues such as Maxine Waters are thrown out of office before their idiocy bankrupts the nation.

Perhaps, she meant 170,000 jobs which would be closer to reality – but still far from the actual number of jobs lost to a mythical sequestration dreamed up by Jack Lew and Barack Obama and their fellow travelers.

SOCIALIST POPULATION CONTROL: DEATH BY DISEASE AND STARVATION -- A TRUE CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY

No, I am not speaking about North Korea, but the modern world as see through the eyes of the international socialism which has subverted science to serve its own agenda, apparently including the use of disease and starvation to curtail population growth.

Item One: The use of junk science to ban the use of DDT – leading to the deaths of millions and the suffering of countless more. This is truly a crime against humanity as perpetrated by the socialists and their population control agenda

Reversing its policy, UN agency promotes DDT to combat the scourge of malaria

15 September 2006 – Nearly 30 years after safety concerns led to the phasing out of indoor spraying with DDT and other insecticides to control malaria, the United Nations health agency said today it will start promoting this method again to fight the global scourge that kills more than one million people every year, including around 3,000 children everyday.

The scientific and programmatic evidence clearly supports this reassessment. Indoor residual spraying is useful to quickly reduce the number of infections caused by malaria-carrying mosquitoes,” said Dr Anarfi Asamoa-Baah, World Health Organization (WHO) Assistant Director-General for HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria.

Indoor residual spraying has proven to be just as cost effective as other malaria prevention measures, and DDT presents no health risk when used properly.” Indoor residual spraying is the application of long-acting insecticides on the walls and roofs of houses and domestic animal shelters.

We must take a position based on the science and the data,” said Dr Arata Kochi, Director of WHO’s Global Malaria Programme. “One of the best tools we have against malaria is indoor residual house spraying. Of the dozen insecticides WHO has approved as safe for house spraying, the most effective is DDT.”

Every year, more than 500 million people suffer from acute malaria, resulting in more than one million deaths. At least 86 per cent of these deaths are in sub-Saharan Africa. Globally an estimated 3,000 children and infants die from malaria every day and 10,000 pregnant women die from malaria in Africa every year. Malaria disproportionately affects poor people, with almost 60 percent of malaria cases occurring among the poorest 20 per cent of the world’s population. <Source: The United Nations>

Item Two: The use of “junk science” to attempt a ban on the use of genetically modified rice …

Greenpeace’s Golden Rice stand should appall us all

Two weeks ago, the Asian arm of Greenpeace issued an alarming press release: “24 children used as guinea pigs in genetically engineered ‘Golden Rice’ trial.” A Chinese news agency leaped on the story and reported that Chinese and American researchers had carried out a dangerous and unauthorized experiment to feed modified rice to a group of rural children in Hunan. The Chinese blogosphere lit up with outrage. China’s top health authority denied that it had approved the research; it suspended a Chinese scientist and demanded that the Americans investigate.

A spokesman for Greenpeace warned: “The next ‘golden rice’ guinea pigs might be Filipino children.”

Greenpeace has long been an implacable opponent of genetically modified foods, especially Golden Rice. And it had an especially good reason to be alarmed by this trial: It was a complete success.

The Hunan trial, conducted in 2008, was meant to determine whether a small bowl a day of genetically modified rice (called Golden because of its yellow colour) could effectively deliver enough Vitamin A to make a difference. Vitamin A deficiency is a scourge of the world’s poor (Vitamin A is contained in fruits and vegetables such as carrots, sweet potatoes and spinach). According to the World Health Organization, Vitamin A deficiency affects about a third of the world’s children under 5. It claims the lives of more than a million people a year, including hundreds of thousands of children. As many as half a million children go blind every year because they don’t get enough Vitamin A.

Golden Rice was developed in the late 1990s by crop scientists who donated it to the world as a humanitarian tool. It was hailed at the time as a spectacularly promising breakthrough. But, in the early days, Golden Rice couldn’t deliver enough Vitamin A to make a difference. For years, Greenpeace and other anti-GM groups ridiculed it as overhyped and ineffective. They called it a propaganda tool for the evil GM industry.

But now, that problem has been fixed. The trial conducted in Hunan – the results were published last month in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition – helps to demonstrate that. It showed that Golden Rice is now as good a source as vitamin supplements, and better than spinach. (For the record, the Americans say the trial was approved by all the proper channels at the time, and was entirely ethical.) <Source>

From Greenpeace …

Sustainable Agriculture: No to GMOs

Over the past 50 years, we have nearly tripled agricultural outputs. But this so-called "Green Revolution" comes at unbearable costs for the environment, public health and social welfare. Industrial farming with its dependency on fossil fuels, toxic inputs and ignorance for common goods has proven to be a dead-end road.

The Problem: Genetic Engineering

Genetic engineering enables scientists to create plants, animals and micro-organisms by manipulating genes in a way that does not occur naturally. These genetically modified organisms (GMOs) can spread through nature and interbreed with natural organisms, thereby contaminating non-"GE" environments and future generations in an unforeseeable and uncontrollable way.

Proponents argue that genetic engineering is worth the risk because it helps alleviate the global food crisis. However, globally speaking, lack of food is not the cause of hunger. Political challenges and failures are the cause of world hunger with an estimated one billion victims. In other words, more food doesn't necessarily mean fewer hungry.

Also, according to recent carbon footprint analysis, the entire chain of food production and consumption accounts for 20 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing these greenhouse gas emissions and increasing the long-term storage of carbon in the soil are therefore essential measures to prevent a climate catastrophe. <Source: Greenpeace>

The damage the so-called “progressives” continue to wreak on the United States and the world …

  • Millions of American parents refused to have their children vaccinated for diseases like whooping cough and measles after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. published an error-ridden tirade in Rolling Stone and the left-wing website Salon in 2005 linking vaccines to autism and other neurological disturbances.
  • Virtually no nuclear-power plants have been built in the United States during the past four decades, the result of continuous left-wing scare stories. Australian physician Helen Caldicott has become a folk hero — 21 honorary degrees and a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize — for her anti-nuke campaign, the centerpiece of which is that the explosion at the Soviet Union's Chernobyl nuclear reactor led to nearly a billion deaths and countless hideous birth defects.
  • Actual death toll, according the U.N.'s scientific committee on nuclear radiation: less than 100. Actual birth defects: zero. The U.S. National Academy of Sciences says that the chances of radiation-induced changes in human sperm and eggs are so low that it has never been detected in human beings, "even in thoroughly studied irradiated populations such as those of Hiroshima and Nagasaki." There may be good reasons for opposing nuclear power — mainly, that the industry is a bloated corporate welfare tick that cannot survive without massive government subsidy — but science isn't one of them, which is why a 2009 Pew Research Center survey showed 70 percent of scientists support it.
  • But scientific consensus, invoked like clockwork whenever lefty activists and their journalist friends talk about global warming, is mysteriously irrelevant when they're discussing nuclear power or genetically enhanced crops. In 2005, the International Council for Science — a coalition of 140 scientific organizations — reviewed more than 50 studies and declared flatly: "Currently available genetically modified foods are safe to eat."

<Source: Glenn Garvin: The left's science deniers>

Bottom line …

There is little doubt in my mind that the once honorable environmental movement has been infiltrated with socialists and communists who have turned environmentalism into a way to combat the United States and progress in general. From the peace, anti-nuke, anti-animal and anti-energy programs, these enemies of progress have used our own laws against us. To reduce the dominance of the United States as a world leader and to increase the amount of death, pain and suffering in this world in order to force the population to allow their enlightened leaders to rule the world.

We saw hundreds of millions of people die or suffer horribly. We now see that these same agents of evil want to curtail the use of life-saving food as well as to continue to demonize the use of nuclear power and fossil fuels – the only reliable and sustainable sources of energy.

When will we notice that the same people who have infiltrated and taken over the environmental movement have now infiltrated and taken over the democrat party? Time to open your eyes people and vote to save yourself, your family, your neighbors, and your nation.

OBAMA'S NEW LEGISLATIVE INITIATIVE: AMERICANS WITH NO ABILITIES ACT

Listening to President Obama and fellow travelers in his administration, makes me question why the people of the United States continues to support corrupt politicians who are using taxpayer funds to purchase or maintain political power. In the present case, why the so-called Congressional Sequester – in reality a miniscule portion of the federal budget is being used to justify the pre-release of illegal aliens in America rather than deporting them back to their country of origin.

Can anyone provide a rationale for importing illiteracy, poverty, crime and a radically different culture into America and continue to claim it is beneficial for America’s future? Other than agriculture, the hospitality industry and low-skill jobs, why are we ignoring the immigration of smart, highly-skilled labor with language skills?

It is almost if Obama and his ilk are pursuing a new legislative initiative: the Americans With No Abilities Act – guaranteed to provide government assistance, food, shelter and medical care – to court people who have illegally jumped the line over those lawful immigrant applicants who have waited years to enter the United States and want to assimilate into our culture instead of preserving their culture and funneling money to the country of allegiance.

Time for a commonsense change in politicians.

Climate Change: Who is studying "institutional and researcher bias?'

There is little doubt in my mind that most climate research studies are influenced by institutional and researcher bias. Not that the majority of researchers are overtly dishonest in presenting their findings, but they and their institutions are more likely to pick projects which are likely to be funded by a corrupt government agency for the purposes of promoting a public policy advantageous to the party in power. And, by this means, produce a preponderance of studies that are overwhelmingly positive in favor of Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) and the need for further funding of facilities and researchers.

The facts: global climate change is the result of a naturally chaotic heat transfer system with the major components being the Solar Output, the Earth’s position relative to the Sun, the Earth’s rotational dynamics, the Earth’s tectonic plates and volcanic action, the deep ocean currents and the greatest greenhouse gas of all, water vapor. Yes, man’s activities do have an effect on our ecosystem, but not to the extent that man can alter the system dynamics of the world.

And, there is a cadre of international socialists whose philosophy is based on big governments, government by an enlightened ruling elite, central planning based on the need to conserve finite planetary natural resources for succeeding generations. The accrete power by creating and managing scarcity. Hence, their international bid to control population growth and use global warming as scientific justification for their actions.

Overlooking the fact that the science is not settled, that most of their assertions can easily be proven wrong and that demonizing the opposition does not provide a credible defense against actual science. They label people “deniers” in the best Orwellian fashion, although science is a process of controlled skepticism. One posits a hypothesis, develops an experiment to confirm the hypothesis, publishes the results for the scientific community. The community will independently replicate the experiment and comment on the findings – agreeing, disagreeing, conducting additional experiments or offering alternative theories.  proposing additional experiments.

Perhaps the best example I can provide concerns the demonization of carbon dioxide as the driver or contributing factor to global warming.

  1. The Earth has been hotter, colder, with greater and lesser concentrations of atmospheric carbon dioxide, before the significant influence of man’s industrial revolution.
  2. Global warming is a natural and expected occurance as the Earth emerges from the Little Ice Age. While we do not know the extent of the global mean temperature increase or the inflection point where the global mean temperature will reverse and plunge downward into another Ice Age, we do know the system is chaotically variable and that it would require a massive intervention, far beyond man’s ability, to reverse or sustain the trend.
  3. Research studies show that the rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide lags the rise in temperature, so carbon dioxide is not likely to be the causal factor. And this lag is between 600 to 1,000 years depending on the dataset used for the calculation. Thus, if man stopped all carbon-related activities today, we would not know the results for 600 – 1,000 years.
  4. The increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide can be explained by simple science. As the oceans warm, the carbon dioxide dissolved in the water outgasses to the atmosphere; much as opening a cold beer on a warm day will allow the carbon dioxide to bubble out of solution and enter the atmosphere.
  5. The models that show carbon dioxide re-radiates heat are misunderstood by the public. First, carbon dioxide does not add energy to the system – and cannot produce a rise in temperature. And two, carbon dioxide (like the significantly more potent water vapor) retards cooling. Pretty much while the moist tropical areas retain heat into the night – naturally skewing recorded temperatures.
  6. Computer models do not produce facts, in fact, they are inaccurate, incomplete and have arguably dubious assumptions and highly manipulated temperature input.
  7. There is the probability that what we are actually measuring with terrestrial thermometers is the urban island heat effect and little else.

You don’t understand …

The educational system has been infiltrated by socialists and communists who are doing everything in their power to dumb down the population so there political assertions can be taken as fact without critical analysis. In today’s celebrity-driven culture, most people are content to leave governing to those who want to rule the planet, rarely questioning their motives until catastrophe strikes. To this end, the government and their sympathetic activists are advantaged if they can make the population that they are incapable of understanding their world and to leave the heavy lifting to a cadre of enlightened elites.

Climate Change is not an All-or-Nothing Proposition, Researcher Says

An Ohio State University statistician says that the natural human difficulty with grasping probabilities is preventing Americans from dealing with climate change.

In a panel discussion at the American Association for the Advancement of Science meeting on Feb. 15, Mark Berliner said that an aversion to statistical thinking and probability is a significant reason that we haven’t enacted strategies to deal with climate change right now.

Berliner, professor and chair of statistics at Ohio State, is the former co-chair of the American Statistical Association’s Advisory Committee on Climate Change Policy, and as such, he spent two years talking with U.S. Congressional staffers about climate change.

As a result, he’s come to the conclusion that Americans need to understand that climate change is a range of possible events that are more or less likely. However, the negative impacts of climate change can be reduced by taking some moderate actions today, he said.

“The general public has an understanding of tipping points, the moment beyond which things become inevitable. But as soon as you start thinking of climate change as inevitable, it’s easy to throw up your hands and say, ‘it’s too late, so why bother to do anything?’” Berliner said. “It’s like a two-pack-a-day smoker deciding not to cut back on the cigarettes, because he’s as good as gone.”

The situation is not hopeless. Instead of taking an extreme all-or-nothing view about climate change, we can think of it as a spectrum of possible problems, and look for a spectrum of practical solutions that will do the most good,” he said.

One of the criticisms of climate change research is that different computer models give different answers,” Berliner said. “But the key is not to pick the right climate model, but to pick the right elements out of each of the models.”

Source: Climate Change is not an All-or-Nothing Proposition, Researcher Says

I call BULLSHIT!

  1. The researcher is obviously a climate activist who has spent a considerable amount of time (2 years) trying to persuade members of Congress to adopt his viewpoint.
  2. There are no obvious climate strategies to deal with climate change right now other than change zoning/building requirements to prevent people from building or overbuilding in climate-dangerous areas. Truth be told, the increasing property damage is from overbuilding in inappropriate areas. With respect to Katrina, much of New Orleans was built below sea level and used massive dikes to hold back storm surges. Does it not make physical sense to rebuild the city on higher ground and insure immunity from storm surges? Why would the government ignore science and support this practical, but not politically acceptable, mitigation measure.
  3. The researcher is conflating and confusing weather (short-term events) with climate change (long-term events), so there is no need to understand climate change as a range of possible events. This is pure political rhetoric. Weather is a short-term phenomenon, but climate change is an issue covering a span of hundreds or thousands of years. Even if we were to accept outlier results, the estimation of these probabilities in a naturally chaotic system is beyond man’s computational prowess.
  4. With global climate change, there is no tipping point – the process is continuous rather than discrete. And even a real tipping point, like the catastrophic eruption of a major volcano or the terrestrial crash of an asteroid, would have a limited effect lasting years, not decades. There is an inflection point, where the trend turns downward towards colder climate, but that is a function of climate’s natural variability and cannot be influenced by man at the present time.
  5. The situation is not hopeless. Man will continue to adapt to changing climate by shifting locations, building stronger shelters, adopting better clothing or engineering a solution to the immediate problem. Has anyone else noticed than man lives, reproduces and thrives in hostile climates, both cold and hot, over the years? It is theoretically possible that the Mayan civilization died out – not because of the shift in global weather as has been speculated, but the poor political choices of their leaders.
  6. As for the spectrum of practical solutions, this appears to be the salami technique of politics – start with consuming a few slices, until one day you find you have eaten the entire salami. Just accept this political solution today for a better tomorrow. Even though there are no practical solutions that affect global climate or even the weather next week.
  7. As for picking and choosing the right elements out of each models – I want to scream! One, we do not know the answer, so how can we possibly pick the best pieces out of flawed models to cobble an unknown solution? What the idiot-savant wants you to believe is that out of deeply flawed and inaccurate models, we can pick and choose elements which support our hypothesis. Scientific madness at its worst.

Bottom line …

Look around you. Can we trust the Obama Administration – which openly lies to the American public? Can we trust activist-scientists whose e-mails have disclosed scientific corruption designed to mislead the public?

Are you willing to opt for bigger government, higher taxes, fewer freedoms and a corrupt government in exchange for a promise that they can change the global climate? Something that even reputable scientists believe is impossible?

The leftist rail against the government’s involvement in Iraq, Afghanistan and now they want to implement policies that will cost us more than all of the wars we have fought – all based on nothing more than science fiction based on a few scientific observations?

In order to trust – you must have a partner you can trust. And, the as we have learned from the Clintons, Bushes, Obamas – these ideologically bent corrupt politicians cannot be trusted with our money, our lives or our future.

Make up your own mind. Prove me wrong.

Top General, Martin Dempsey, puts bank loans and bailouts over protecting the U.S. from a catastrophic attack?

As the highest-ranking military officer in the United States military, General Martin E. Dempsey has taken the following oath of office …

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

General Dempsey may have misspoke – or at least I hope he misspoke – when he  prioritized the national security interests of the United States and its military before the cadets and faculty at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on January 31, 2013 …

  1. Survival of the nation.
  2. Stability of the global economic system.
  3. Protect the country from a catastrophic attack.
  4. Promotion of our values.

The idea that insuring the stability of the global economic system over the protection of our country from a catastrophic attack appears to be an obvious mistake by General Dempsey. Because nobody who has taken the Oath of Office can justify downgrading the safety and our security before handing out loans to failing socialist and communist countries.

However, the problem is that while General Dempsey appears to be an honorable man and a fine officer, he, himself, admits that he has little actual power and serves only as an adviser to the President, the Secretary of Defense and the National Security Adviser. And, if these civilians fail to heed his reasoned advise, he can do little more than resign from office and make his case known to the American people.

Bottom line …

It is President Barack Obama, Vice President Biden, Secretary of State John Kerry, Secretary of Defense (nominee) Chuck Hagel and the Director of the CIA (nominee) John Brennan and their fellow travelers in Congress that I worry about. These people are committed ideologues who appear to be more closely aligned with international socialism/communism and our Islamic enemies than they are with American values and our allies.

I m hoping that General Dempsey misspoke, but perhaps General Dempsey is mirroring that talking points of our nation’s leadership. And, if so, we are in deep, deep trouble.

Excerpt from speech transcript …

You know, I don’t know exactly what to tell you about the world you’ll enter, whether it’s this year or four years from now. I will tell you that whatever it is, it will change faster than you think.

It’ll be more complex than you – than you probably appreciate when you first encounter it. It’ll be unpredictable, and it’ll be more dangerous. And that gets me sometimes into hot water when I talk about risk, when I assert that the world is actually more dangerous today than it was 10, 15 years ago. But I think I can make a pretty good case.

There are more capabilities that used to be the monopoly of nation-states in the hands of individuals and groups today around the world than ever, and that trend is only continuing. And so the unpredictability, the complexity and the danger of the world you’ll face will really require us to have a very clear understanding of our national interests. We haven’t had a knockdown, drag-out debate, even internal to the military, about our national security interests in a long time.

Let me suggest to you that there’s at least four, and they ought to be prioritized. Number one is the survival of the nation. Where does that take you? Well, it takes you to things like our nuclear capability. It takes you – things that could actually alter our way of life, survival of the nation, and that’s a set of national security interests. And by the way, I would suggest to you that you, as the Coast Guard, actually touch every one of these four in ways that should be pretty apparent to you.

The second one is – we have a requirement, because we’re a global power, to lend to the stability of the global economic system. What does that mean to you? Freedom of navigation, maritime awareness. So the second-tiered, in my view, national security interest is our contribution to the stability of the global economic system, because it’s through that global economic system that we derive the prosperity that we enjoy as Americans. So that’s clearly a national security interest.

The third one is to protect the country from a catastrophic attack. And, you know, again, this is one of those places where we will dance on the head of the pin about what climbs to the level of a catastrophe. You only really will answer that question looking back at it, not looking forward to it. But where do you come in, in that protection of the country from a catastrophic attack?  The things that could migrate into our borders are pretty clear to you, whether it’s chemicals, whether it’s – other weapons of mass destruction, nuclear materials, and even gun trafficking, human trafficking, things that over time, left unaddressed, could produce a catastrophic effect in this country are clearly in our national interest, and another place where you are prominent in the capability you provide.

And the last one is the promotion of our values. As a global power – and one who happens to be based on a system of values which are generally outlined in our Constitution but also include the rule of law – we are an example for the rest of the world. Sometimes we – you know, we get a little bashful about that, but we shouldn’t. We shouldn’t be bashful about that at all.

And the way the Coast Guard is out there representing law enforcement, that kind of nexus of law enforcement and military power, the way you have your own network of different authorities, whether it’s Customs and Border Patrol, Federal Bureau of Investigation, all of the – all of the authorities that you kind of migrate back and forth in order to have that network, to promote our values and protect the country, you contribute to every one of those four national security interests in a very powerful way.

So the last thing I want to talk to you about before I get to your questions is in that – in that vein, if you will, of national security interests, just something about the role of the chairman. The chairman is the principal military adviser, as you heard Joe say, of the – of the president and secretary of Defense. And I’d add to that the National Security staff.

I have very little authority on my own. In fact, I have, the last time I checked, I had no authority on my own – what little authority I used to have, my wife usurped when we got married 36 years ago. (Laughter.) I don’t even write my own checks. I do nothing. But what I do, what I have is enormous influence, but that influence is only as good as I can be persuasive, if I can be thoughtful, if I can be trusted.

Every time I see a picture of Jane Fonda, I can't help but remember she is a traitor who provided aid and comfort to our enemies!

Traitor -- Jane Fonda

This is for all the kids born in the 70's that do not remember this, and didn't have to bear the burden, that our fathers, mothers, and older brothers and sisters had to bear. In 1999, Jane Fonda was to be honored as one of ABC's "100 Women of the Century." Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still countless others have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country but men who served and sacrificed during Vietnam. Bottom line …

Never forget that there are some Americans whose past can never be erased by anything that may do or say now or in the future. That, until the day the die, they should be reviled as someone who provided aid and comfort to our enemies during a time of war.

And, while I respect Senator John McCain for the punishment which resulted in his war injuries, let us not forget that he became an enemy collaborator and, for some unexplained reason, shut down a continuing query into soldiers who may have been left alive in Southeast Asia – demanding that the transcripts of interrogations of returning prisoners of war be sealed.

Obama indicts himself on manufactured crisis and says "we've got to do some governing."

President Obama addressed the National Governors Association during their visit to the White House …

At 12:48, Obama indicts himself, his administration and the Congressional democrats …

“All of us are elected officials,” he said. “All of us are concerned about our politics, both in our own party’s as well as the other party’s. But at some point, we’ve got to do some governing. And certainly what we can’t do is keep careening from manufactured crisis to manufactured crisis. As I said in the State of the Union, the American people have worked hard and long to dig themselves out of one crisis; they don’t need us creating another one. And unfortunately, that’s what we’ve been seeing too much out there.”

Bottom line …

The Sequester is a concept conceived by Obama’s nominee for Treasury Secretary, Jack Lew, and his advisory team. It is Obama that continues to pursue former Presidential Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s  suggestion to “never let a crisis go to waste.”

And, no President in history has engaged in perpetual campaigning and failed to govern than Barack Obama. This is the classic “say anything, do anything” president whose words are often diametrically opposed to his actions.

Gun Control: We must outlaw the use of space heaters -- prevent 25,000 House Fires Each Year and 300 deaths!

There are any number of known legal devices, substances and practices which present a clear and present danger to American citizens. Among them are alcohol and tobacco – which the government hypocritically taxes, but does not prohibit – even in the face cancer-related deaths and higher healthcare costs, and of alcohol-related death or injury posing an going threat to our population.

So why not ban “space heaters” based on nothing more than liberal logic that it saves lives and “is for the children?”

25,000 House Fires Each Year Caused by Space Heaters; Safety Tips From Loyola

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) estimates that more than 25,000 residential fires and more than 300 deaths are caused each year by space heaters. More than 6,000 Americans receive hospital emergency room care annually for burn injuries associated with room heaters.

Winter is not over and many more cold days lie ahead. The Burn Center at Loyola University Medical Center is warning the public about the dangers of space heaters used by so many to keep warm. "Every year we receive patients who are victims of house fires caused by space heaters," said Dr. Richard Gamelli, director of the Burn and Shock Trauma Institute at Loyola University Medical Center. The Loyola Burn Center is one of the busiest in the Midwest, treating nearly 700 patients annually in the hospital, and another 3,500 patients each year in its clinic.

For the public’s safety …

"So many of these injuries are preventable if simple precautions are taken," says Gamelli who is senior vice president and provost of the Health Sciences Division of Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. About 40 percent of Loyola’s burn cases are children and the majority of these children are ages 2 and younger.

Some key tips from Loyola and the Department of Energy for space heater safety include:

General Portable Heater Safety Tips

• Keep space heaters at least 3 feet away from furniture or other combustible material, such as curtains and bedding. Don't place heaters on carpets or rugs.
• Locate space heaters on a hard, level surface where a child or family pet cannot brush up against them.
• Never leave a space heater on when an adult is not present in the room.
• Never keep flammable liquids near a space heater.
• Mobile homes should use only vented fuel-fired or electric heaters.

Electric Space Heaters

• The safest space heaters for the home, plug electric space heaters directly into a wall outlet. Use a heavy-duty cord of 14-gauge wire or larger if an extension cord is needed.
• Buy a unit with a tip-over safety switch, to shut off the heating element if the unit topples over.

Combustion Space Heaters

• Only use unvented combustion heaters outside your home because they can introduce harmful products such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide into your breathing area.
• Vented units that are sealed combustion heaters are safer to operate than others because they are less likely to backdraft and harm indoor air quality. They operate more efficiently because they do not draw in the heated air from the room and exhaust it to the outdoors.
• Follow manufacturer’s recommendations for fueling and use only the approved fuel.
• Never fill a heater that is hot.
• Never overfill a heater. Allow room for fuel expansion.
• Store fuel outdoors.
• Have vented space heaters professionally inspected each year. If the heater is not vented properly, blocked, rusted or corroded, dangerous levels of carbon monoxide (CO) may cause illness or even death.
• Do not go to sleep with a fuel-fired heater on as carbon monoxide levels could rise and be fatal.
• Make sure there is a guard around the heating element or flame area.

The Loyola Burn Center staff of more than 70 specially trained medical professionals provides comprehensive care for adults and children with thermal injuries, electrical burns, chemical injuries, frostbite, toxic epidermal necrolysis, inhalation injuries and complex soft-tissue infections. A multidisciplinary team, which includes resuscitation, pulmonary support, wound management, nutritional support and rehabilitation personnel, provide care in the Burn Center. The Loyola Burn Center was awarded verification by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Burn Association (ABA). This recognition is only granted to those programs that have met and exceeded the ACS and ABA standards and review. And for our safety …

We know what the effect of crime and crazies has wrought on our society. Now it is time to deal with the root cause – not guns – but the minority abuse of guns in the democrat-controlled inner cities. Regardless of how liberals feel about profiling, inner city minorities represent a clear and present danger to themselves and their fellow residents. It is time to take action against the gangs which are the proximate cause of the deaths in the inner cities. These inner cities already have some of the strictest democrat-proposed gun laws in existence, and it does absolutely nothing to deter crazies and criminals. And, if the local and state police are unwilling to take action lest they offend the racist loud-mouth community activists, I suggest that disarming the population only creates a greater pool of victims and a reason for larger, more corrupt and incompetent, government.

Bottom line …

President Obama and his fellow socialist travelers in government are hell bent on disarming American citizens to curtail any potential “We the People” response to the increasing tyrannical actions of our government as they continue to loot the American treasury and provide perks, privileges and profits to special interests in the name of advancing international socialism.

It is time that people assume individual responsibility for their actions and tell our government to respect our individual and collective freedoms. And, for government to obey our Constitution which grants power to the federal government and specifically enumerates those powers.

The real issue at hand is not gun control, but crime control. And, even worse, it is MINORITY CRIME that is the real issue – a subject that liberals do not want to address as minorities comprise their voter base and their winning coalition lynchpin.

The fact that they are trying to avoid disclosing is that you will be creating a larger pool of victims that are dependent upon a corrupt government who cannot provide personal police assistance when and where it is needed. Hence, our Constitution reinforces our rights to self-defense against crazies, criminals and a tyrannical government with the Second Amendment.
