RAND PAUL: MILKING THE GUN CONTROL MONEY TREE
Donating to an individual politician who makes great speeches, but with no real influence in his party, appears to be counterproductive. I would much rather make a donation to the National Rifle Association which has a proven track record of both promoting legislation which protects the Second Amendment and which defeats legislation which would weaken the Second Amendment.
All I can see with Rand Paul is an ineffective opportunist like his father, Ron Paul, who is lining his campaign coffers for a possible presidential run in 2016. There are no guarantees that any money contributed will be used to fight for the Second Amendment or even that it will be used for anything other than building out the “Rand Paul for <insert office here>” effort.

Bottom line …
First, the e-mail I received contained tracking beacons that would insure that you will be bombarded with additional pitches for funds. And, second, a pitch to add your name to a common document is relatively worthless – especially when delivered by another politician.
If you are a patriot and want to uphold, protect and defend the constitution, the job cannot be “outsourced” to any politician. You need to make your message heard in the offices of your local, state and federal representatives. Actual telephone calls, faxes and the most potent of communications, the stamped letter, have far greater impact that delivered petitions and e-mailed messages. Be polite and respectful – but firm – ask the staff assistant to convey your message telling your representative how you wish him to vote. Do not threaten or use ugly language. Give your name, address and telephone number. Request a call back and get the name of the staff member you spoke with. Reinforce phone calls and faxes with a written letter. You may wish to mention some of the clubs and organizations you belong to – without suggesting you are speaking for others or the organization unless you have been designated as their official spokesperson.
In all likelihood, your message will wind up on a tabulated “tick” list and have far more impact than a message delivered by a political hack in your name.
In the final analysis, politicians respect people who contribute funds to their campaign and who vote or can influence the vote in their constituent areas. They have no respect for mass petitions or the influence of other legislators unless they are trying to cut a deal – a deal which is almost always anti-citizen, anti-consumer and pro-special interest.
If you really care that much: do it yourself, do it today – and let your voice be heard as the voice of patriots, past and present.
