The radical left wants to destroy McDonald's unless they unionize: "The 7 Worst Things About McDonald's"

Say what you will about McDonald’s, but you know what you are getting every time. No muss, no fuss. But now we find the progressive liberals trying to destroy an iconic American brand because they are non-union and represent a huge number of entry-level positions. Just consider what unemployment would look like if McDonald’s were unionized --- probably need to reduce staff by at least a third to pay for the outrageous union salaries, benefits – and, of course, the union would resist anything that would increase worker productivity without a corresponding increase in wages.

See for yourself how these douchey unions operate,  right out of Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals – agitate, demonize …

The 7 Worst Things About McDonald's

Forcing employees to work on Christmas without overtime pay is just the beginning.

McDonald’s has become synonymous with food that’s terrible for you, low-wage jobs and overzealous marketing to children. Largely that’s because of McDonald’s scale; the company serves more customers each day than the entire population of Great Britain, and it hires some one million workers each year (reportedly one in eight Americans have been employed by McDonald’s).

This is all to say that there’s a lot to hate about McDonald’s. As such, here is a not-comprehensive list of some of the more outrageous facts about McDonald’s, past and present.

1. It wants employees to work Thanksgiving and Christmas without overtime pay.

McDonald’s has a long history of terrible labor practices, but this is especially Scroogey: this holiday season the company urged franchisees to stay open on Thanksgiving and Christmas (McDonald’s restaurants are usually closed on those holidays). Worse, employees who work those days don’t get paid overtime. According to a company spokesperson, “When our company-owned restaurants are open on the holidays, the staff voluntarily sign up to work. There is no regular overtime pay.”

A million workers, certainly an attractive target for the union thieves who want to siphon-off a significant portion of McDonald’s profits to their own failing pension funds and bloated executive bonuses. Why should McDonald’s workers support the corrupt socialists in the democratic party? If the earn so little, perhaps they should keep their money in their own pockets – rather than signing on to a union which will eventually cost a significant number of workers their jobs, customers their reasonably priced food, and children their Happy Meals?

Bottom line …

Not content to destroy major industries, now they want to control all of foodservice and hospitality – putting illegals to work to replace legal American citizens. Enough is enough.

McDonald’s does not need a lesson in management from evildoers who substitute seniority for merit, the status-quo for innovation, lower productivity for higher costs and work rules that make it nearly impossible to fire a poor-performing union member without a substantial investment in labor lawyers.

I do not want to see a $6 cheeseburger with $4 fries from a unionized McDonald’s.

Full disclosure: I ate at McDonald’s tonight and enjoyed my Chicken McNuggets and a Lemonade.
