GUN CONTROL: PUTTING THE CONNECTICUT SCHOOL SHOOTING IN PERSPECTIVE

While the Connecticut School shooting is a tragedy, we need to keep the situation in perspective lest the politicians push their toxic socialist agenda on the backs of this tragedy. Readers of this blog know that I have pointed out on numerous occasions that you cannot detect or deter crazy when it comes to mass murder …

And as proof that crazy is crazy and that if a gun wasn’t the weapon, they would have used something else; I present the Bath School massacre which occurred on May 18, 1927.

The Bath School disaster is the name given to three bombings in Bath Township, Michigan, on May 18, 1927, which killed 38 elementary school children, two teachers, four other adults and the bomber himself; at least 58 people were injured. Most of the victims were children in the second to sixth grades (7–11 years of age) attending the Bath Consolidated School. Their deaths constitute the deadliest mass murder in a school in U.S. history.

The bomber was school board treasurer Andrew Kehoe, 55, who died in a car bomb he set off after he drove up to the school as the crowd gathered to rescue survivors from the burning school.

On the morning of May 18, Kehoe murdered his wife by beating her to death, then set his farm buildings on fire using incendiary devices. As fire fighters arrived at the farm, an explosion devastated the north wing of the school building, killing many schoolchildren. As rescuers started gathering at the school, Kehoe drove up, stopped, and detonated a bomb inside his vehicle with his Winchester rifle, killing himself and the school superintendent, and killing and injuring several others. During rescue efforts searchers discovered an additional 500 pounds (230 kg) of unexploded dynamite and pyrotol planted throughout the basement of the school's south wing. Kehoe apparently had intended to blow up and destroy the whole school. <Source: Bath School disaster - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia>

Bottom line …

Michael Bloomberg was on his soapbox about gun control before the bodies were even cold. And before we all turn in to pop psychologists, let us just say “crazy is crazy” and that disarming innocent law-abiding citizens only creates more victims – because – get this straight – criminals and crazies do not respect the law.

And why is the media not being held responsible for putting out false and misleading information based on nothing more than a Facebook page.

Also, the media needs to accept the fact that they publicize mass shooting events to such an extent as to make other such killings a certainty in an age of celebrity when there is no media difference between famous and infamous.

As for the Hollywood liberals -- might it be time to examine the damage "first-person shooter" games are doing on young men who are rewarded with higher scores for killing more people, zombies or whatever.

The headline should have been 152 million gun owners did not commit mass murder today.
